Jordan Pickford saved an Anthony Gordon penalty while Everton had a goal ruled out and a huge penalty appeal of their own waved away during an eventful 0-0 draw with Newcastle at Goodison.

  1. Blatant penalty. It wasn't "a tangle of legs". Such a commentators cliche that. Burns blatantly backed into him. It's penalty all day long.

  2. Gana is short and can't be decisive in front of the goals. He is worst than ever. He should quite. Boy li lane la!!! Râter bi doye na…

  3. I can see it being given, but it seems like a soft penalty to me. I don't want every physical confrontation being given.

  4. A battling performance and a hard earned point by Everton.
Hopefully after the international break Everton can be much better footballing wise: having more composure in keeping control of the ball and passing with more accuracy and purpose.
Think it was obvious Newcastle got their penalty: Tarkowski threw forcefully with his both hands Tonali to the ground. Tarky: this is football, not rugby nor wrestling!😉 Fortunately Pickford made the crucial save!🤗
I have always held that I "hate" soft penalty decisions. That's why I think "a tangle of legs" by Calvert-Lewin and Burn didn't warrant a penalty. If you have an opinion you must stand by it in every situation.
Of course I would have "taken" a penalty kick if it would have been awarded, but still thought that we were very lucky to get it.
There is no point to give a penalty from every minor contact or unintended hand ball. Think it's good that especially in England, and in Britain generally, the "policy" still is "tighter" than in the Continent, in not giving penalties too easily. That's good. Otherwise the game can even turn to a "contest" who wins most penalties during a match!
Hope Everton will get all our players fit soon and after the break start climbing the table, playing football which is based more on possession, still quick and effective when needed!
We have the players to do it, we must also have the belief!!!! 💪💙

  5. Watch it with a different viewpoint. Ignore the legs, and watch Burn's whole body movement. He throws himself at DCL, which is a penalty in itself as it certainly isn't should to shoulder.

  6. I thought the grappling rules stated the person must have had a chance of getting the cross otherwise it’s just classed as the usual pushing and pulling, Tonali unless 9 foot tall was never getting near the cross
