🤕 Do the muscles in your shoulder feel out of balance and clunky when you lift your arms up overhead?
Let’s talk about why you need the 3 muscles around the shoulder blade to work as a team when you reach your arm up.
Those muscles are:
✅ Lower trapezius
✅ Upper trapezius
✅ Serratus anterior
Together, they create a force couple that helps everything move smoothly as the arm lifts overhead. This exercise allows us to improve all 3 areas, in addition to our rhomboids, which connect our shoulder blades together.
🏆 The primary focus of this exercise is to keep tension on the band by pulling your wrists apart and pulling your shoulder blades together. The secondary focus is the front raise, lifting the dumbbells up in front of you. Because of this, the weights should be on the lighter side so your anterior deltoids don’t hog all the work.
#️⃣ Try 12 slow reps for 2-3 sets and notice how much better your posture is.
