If you ever listen to how nba players answer this question it really shows how ignorant everyone else is. Patrick just said “MJ is the best IN MY ERA”…meaning that there is room for other GOATS in other ERAs. All these analysts, sportscasters and ex players with no accolades need to learn from this
LeBron is such a strong but conventional player — there’s nothing about him that any good observer can’t figure out. His strengths are pretty much just a high level of polish and floor smarts.
Michael, on the other hand, was an entire reinvention of what was possible with a basketball, and his sheer force of personality and genius seemed to bend the entire game and everyone else in it to his will. This man climbed inside all our heads for an entire decade. He was seemingly supernatural in both his artistry and his psychological dominance.
I mean, c’mon. If you’ve experienced all the decades in question, any suggestion of anyone but Air Jordan himself as the “GOAT” should sound utterly ridiculous.
