  1. Let's not forget about DMac being offside for the lineout overthrow that led to Caleb Clarke's 2nd try. He may only encroach the 10m space from the lineout once the ball crosses the 15m line. DMac started running when Taylor threw in. I guess the ARs were asleep as well.

  2. Jeremy Paul was nothing but a hater. Actually did not properly do his work on this pod. He should just stick to his love for rugby league. His comments were not helping. Spending 15 minutes talking about Bongi's try or the breakdown as if the ABs were angels. mxm

  3. All for pay refs more however we don't have top refs and still question with a test between SA v NZ why is there such shitty refs. Let's be honest here now it was shitty both ways. 2 tries from NZ should have been reviewed along with Bongi's try which would have been taken back to the advantage that was still in play. Then the Sam can tackle should have been referred. What was the worst for me was when Arendse was knock out ref did not stop the game. Pieter-Steff had to call since he looked after Arendse. All and all a shitty ref team all around

  4. Love Marshy's balanced view of the game but JP's one sided monologue in favour of the ABs is tiring. The Cane high shot, Mackenzie over the shot clock, the double banking on the first AB try. Did he see none of those? Brace is human and made mistakes both ways. Excellent game that flowed rather than the frustrating stop start of recent games. Best game I've seen in years.
    ..

  5. 1. Mackenzie kicked after the shot clock, 2. ABs rolling maul try was double banking and should not have been given, 3 high tackle to Siya’s face was not looked at or shown by TMO, 4. It took 11 penalties before the ABs got a yellow and only 1 or 2 before the SBs got one. And you Kiwis want to sit there and act like you were “robbed” if anything the ref saved you from complete embarrassment and you should be thanking him.

  6. Toxic boks fans are so punishing. A few years ago they all cried about the refs every game. Now they're on a winning roll and they don't care anymore.

The game is broken when it comes to the way it's reffed. If it's not a knock-on and the try stands then is that the way it's going to be called every time this happens? I'm willing to bet it won't. The same thing will happen in a different game but the call by the referee will be different.

  7. Really luv this Show Guys keep-up the Amazing-Work!!!! On tht note I hate to break-it to U Guys I read an Article today where an Official said Bongi Try was correct decision because Jordi Barret in attempting-to hold ball up as Bongi was crashing-over actually knocked ball forward as the ball went forward from Jordi Barret's fingers not Bongi & if U watch closely ball goes backwards from Bongi's hands into his face as he crashes-over Try-line to score the Try so in conclusion there's no knock-on from Bongi!!!!!

Other thing is Cody Taylor Maul-Try was also questionable as there was double-banking in Maul which Siya questioned Ref abt after Try but Ref wasn't interested but suppse it is wot it is!!!!

    Here's a link as Proof: https://youtu.be/-7C4Uypu5_E?si=2Z-u3cQKICUMOvUA

  8. AB's becoming worse than the Poms with moaning. Cane high tackle has fractured Siya's cheek and their 1 try was not a try. Ref does not get it all 100% but please look at the bad decisions of both sides. Great respect for the AB's but the constant moaning every time they lose it gets a little annoying.

  9. The amount of bitter fans who can’t just say, a great game was played, calls were missed, but that’s human error and sport no matter what. Bunch of babies complaining in here.

  10. Struggling to know what was wrong with the try, barrett knocked it forward and Mbongi grounded it, are there bigger whingers then the kiwi's??

  11. SA has better players than Mapimpi and Bongi..and will continue to blunder..but hey Rassie is a genius. Boks need the Twickenham side if they want to remain unbeaten.

  12. Great show as always Guys, thank you!! I think it is always important to have balance, all the talk was how AB's hard done by, no mention of illegal positioning of AB's prop for 1st try or Sam C, again, head on head with Siya. If l missed the chat about those incidents, then apologies.

  13. Bongi did not drop tne ball The bal was knocked out of his hands and it went backward Perhas Yes no The scenarios are equally beleivable

  14. So just checking, Springboks were never done in by the ref or AB in this game? Amazing guys, one sided view. 🤔 I wonder what NZ would do if their captain was high tackled and not able to play game in Cape Town?

  15. The URC trialled a Captains challenge a couple of years ago. It was extremely effective – at slowing the game down and sapping momentum for everyone

  16. "Being on the wrong side of the ref" seems to be a recurring thing for SA opposition for the las couple of years at least…
By the way did you know how much it means for their people?

  17. Another good poddy gents. I quite like this one compared to when the south africans do there's. Cause they give praise or speak about other teams but then always back to themselves and how good they are. JP is bloody good. Great dynamic with Justin. Keep it up Gents.

  18. I couldn’t watch past the first few minutes. Justin admits it was played on the big screen. It was a try after all so it should have been played multiple times. The officiating team missed that one. The TMO was very quiet in this game and there were many things that could have been pointed out. As everyone knows, nobody knows what would have happened if Bongi’s try was disallowed. The Boks might have got a penalty and then scored anyway, for example. NZ were ahead at the end but couldn’t close out the game. Was an intense match as always. I’m hoping the Boks can win back the freedom cup. It’s about time!

  19. The abs starting 15 I think are marginally better but the springboks second team is miles better at this stage and that ain’t gonna change this weekend. The abs need more time and to be fair I actually think we just don’t have enough good players anymore. The running rugby style of play just doesn’t work with the modern rules and we don’t seem willing to change.

  20. What about Koroibete high tackle to Kremer… If were Lavaninni they send him to jail… Or the tackle in the air to Carreras…. What pisses me off is that refs call inmediatly scrum penalties were 2 props push on angle, 1 is full extended and the other crowilng but they can't get the obvious ones

  21. Interesting idea from JP about paying Refs a big match fee for important games. I think this is a great idea but only if that match fee is tied to match performance.

Referring must be much more transparent about how decisions were reached and acted upon during a match. I think the Referring Manager should be required to front the Media a couple days after each test match to discuss, analysis and give feedback on the performance of the Match officials. My biggest issue with Rugby Referring at the moment is the lack of accountability, and without accountability and consequences for under performance there will never be any improvement.

To my knowledge there has been no feedback from the match officials on why the Bongi Mbonambi try was awarded when it looked like a knock on. No feedback on whether there was an obstruction in the lead up to Codie Taylor's try and no feedback on a number of other controversial incidents throughout the match.

I think most pundits from both NZ and South Africa (and neutrals) would agree that Andrew Brace and the TMO had a pretty poor test match with a number of poor decisions that went against both teams.

So if a match fee system was implemented then Brace, the ARs and the TMO should get a substantial reduction in their match fee based on their poor performance during the match. By doing this it would incentivise that match officials to give their best possible performance.

  22. Both Taylor and Bongi tries should have been wiped off the board.

NZ came off better with a net gain of 2 points because Sacha missed the conversion.

Ref styles are different and as pro's the players must learn to adjust accordingly.

Can the influence of the TMO be minimized? Of course it's uber frustrating, but the calls will never be perfect.

It was a great game, an 80 minute challenge and thats whatvwe want as fans.

  23. Pretty amazing shout out to Kees meews there thats amazing that he did that especially to an opponent. Prop can be very very dangerous and looking out for each other in moments like that is massive. We all want to beat each other but no player wants to see another player end up in a wheelchair or dead.

  24. Refs somehow missed Sam Cane caving Kolisi's cheek in AGAIN. Sam's a slow learner isn't he? Or is he an AB hitman and Kolisi was targeted like Frizell did to Bongi in the RWC.

  25. "Andrew Brace needs a pat on the back" are you f…… serious !!!
Together with the TMO that was one of worst examples of officiating I've ever seen
    Appalling communication with players
    Multiple bad decisions
"Trust my team" when Kolisi asks him to check for head contact from the Sam Cane tackle
Doesn't check ABs 1st try double banking after Kolisi challenges it
Penalising TJ Perenara without a warning first
    Shot clock debacle

I definitely think a captain's challenge needs to be re-introduced.
It was trialed a few years ago but not continued which seems crazy.
