The idea here is to get rid of the “slack” in the arms and wrists at setup – the drill is to start by first setting up as though the ground is the top of the ball then lower the club so it’s barely touching the top of the grass – don’t let it fully sit on the ground!
You might hit a few thin to begin with but once you get the hang of the feel I guarantee your game will be better than it was before 🤘🏽
Note: Eventually you don’t have to look like a 🤡 putting your club on the top of the ball you’ll dial in the feel 🤘🏽
I just figured this kinda concept out today. If you guys are having trouble understanding what he means, my take is that instead of setting his body to hit with the club on the ground, he sets it a little higher up and then lowers/stretches his arms down to get the club right on top of the ground. I was at the range today and figured out that if I stand up more straight and stretched my arms down a little more then I could hit so much farther, and with so much more confidence that I wouldn’t chunk as long as I didn’t drop my hips/torso, whatever. Didn’t seem to work as well for chip shots and I still prefer my original set up but this felt like a complete game changer and I can’t wait to hit more balls like that
I have practiced with placing the club straight and into ground on front of the ball with my left hand. Then adding right hand & moving the club behind the ball making the shaft lean. End result is the same, club bit off the ground at address, seems to help on contact. I think logic is that if you put the club into ground behind the ball and make the swing from there you_will_hit fat shots.
If I, at address, push down on the top of the grip with my left hand and slightly lift with my right index finger, is this a similar way to address the ball? It stretches my left arm (“removes the slack”) and lets me hover the club slightly with the toe of the club slightly up. Swinging back I keep pushing my left hand away. Is this setting me up for a disaster? Is your method better?
I hit less fat shots this way. Fat shots are my miss (50-60% sometimes) so much that my right elbow is going to fall off. It hurts to actually lift a gallon of milk.
It will never be fat, but I fear the worm raper! How do you avoid hitting it thin? A fat shot gets you closer, however, a thin shot usually rests further away than your original shot.

This works for all clubs and all shots!

Thanks now I blade every ball
I did this today and shot 5 under my normal score!

Lmfao silly without more context
Excellent tip
🔥🔥🔥
Love your videos!! 🤙🏽
Great, now a bunch of +15 handicaps can turn to +20 handicaps after all the accidental ball touches.
Great tip, but you are drastically underestimating my ability to thin a shot… I’m Thin Lizzy out there
Yup still skulled it down the car path
Great until you touch the ball before every shot.
Directions unclear. Shattered a window with my 56°

My wife left me what do I do now?
Hit the front of the ball
Quick question

I will try your way and see. 😀
Thanks – joe

Instructions unclear, I bladed the ball 100 yards past the green into someone’s living room
This ain’t working for everyone. 😂
Dammit, just bladed a PW 198yrd over the green. Any tips for long irons back into the green from 2 fairways away?
What about when I skull it over the green
One of the best golf channels I follow 🫡
This guy is the man.
How many times did you hit the ball? Hmmmmmmmm seen a few taps
No more fat but hit on top no ?
Instructions unclear i thinned it 50 yrds over the green
what a load of sh1t😂
Ok, that increased my score because I touched the ball before swinging the club
Every time this dude pops up he’s got another absolutely ridiculous tip, whatever dude you do you
Wouldn't that be a foul shot and penalty stroke ? 😂 terrible advice
Hmm…doesn’t touching the ball with your club constitute a swing? 🤔 May want to clarify for some this isn't for tournament play…
Thank you.
Don’t forget the extra stroke for doing this little move
Yeah, this works for fairway bunker shots, otherwise unnecessary.
Okay noted but if I ever hit another fat shot I’m suing you
Why don't you tell Moe Norman he'll hit the ball more pure by doing this
Touched the ball once, twice and then chipped so you just used three shots to chip 🤦♂️
Just glad i didnt have to hear a horrible rap song for this tip.thanks bud
Horrible tip please noone do this
Try lots of different things. Do what works for you.
Stupid tip
The beat is fire 😮
Until you find that AH who's playing with you complaining that you touched the ball, and it should count as a stroke.
Just walk up, hit the ball and move on. Don’t overthink the swing. Weekend golfer.
How to thin it 101
Wisdom!!👌🏼
No thx 😂
