Our ๐‡๐ž๐š๐ ๐“๐ž๐š๐œ๐ก๐ข๐ง๐  ๐๐ซ๐จ๐Ÿ๐ž๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐š๐ฅ ๐‘๐จ๐ซ๐ฒ ๐“๐ข๐ง๐ค๐ž๐ซ takes you through the options if you find yourself hitting a ball onto a red penalty area. If you wish to take relief, you have three options, each for one penalty stroke.

๐“๐ก๐ž ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐š๐ฒ๐ž๐ซ ๐ฆ๐š๐ฒ:

๐Ÿ. Take stroke-and-distance relief by playing a ball from where the previous stroke was made.

๐Ÿ. Take back-on-the-line relief by dropping a ball outside the penalty area, keeping the point where the ball crossed the penalty area between the hole and the spot where the ball is dropped.

๐Ÿ‘. Take lateral relief. Where the ball last crossed the penalty area a ball must be dropped and played from two club-length, which is no nearer the hole.
