The good thing about PETE is that, so far,hr's not injury prone like MARTE. Also his defense is greatly improved. As for his contract; there's no way on GOD'S green earth that STEARNS will resign ALONSO because PETE'S contract will go against STEARNS' MINI MARKET/ MONEY BALL PHILOSOPHY.
Another reason why STEARNS will not resign ALONSO is because BATY wasn't traded. Baty wasn't traded so that next season BATY will be at 3b and VIENTOS will be moved to 1b.

Pete Alonso will get paid regardless of who signs him. Power hitters like him don't come along everyday. If Pete leaves NY who is going to replace him? Alvarez? Baty? Vientos? Clifford?. Anybody can hit homeruns, but not many hit them like Alonso.

A big problem with Alonso is he can’t separate good with bad. Everything is good around Pete no matter what and he is not a winner.
He’s delusional. As it currently stands, 4 years 80 mil. IF and only if he goes on a tear and finishes the year over .260 with 35 HR 100 RBI then you reward him and go 5 years 100 mil. No opt outs or incentives. He MUST prove he is closer to a .260 hitter than a .220 hitter and right now he’s been stuck on .245 for
Months. 100 RBI is a requirement for the 3 or cleanup hitter. Minimum .825 OPS. Nimmo got an AAV of 20 mil. Nimmo is on pace to have 93 RBI and has a higher OBP than Pete and identical WAR of 2.3. 270 mil is absolutely insane and beyond selfish. With Boras’ reputation I expect Pete to be gone.

Great content as usual. Alonso may get a good offer from a team like the Cubs however I don't think he's going to get any other big offers. He really needs to have a big last 7 weeks and help us secure a playoff spot. Ottavino probably is gone. Mets have some real tough games especially on their next west coast trip when they play Arizona and SD back to back. Maybe those teams will cool off by then. It would be great to see the Braves not make it.
