You don’t want your starting QB sidelined when installing a new offense. However, Herbert has been through a number of coaching changes that started in college. Head coaches Slick Willy Taggart, Mario Cristobal who Oregon fans were happy to see leave, and then Brandon Staley.
He has also had a revolving door of offensive coordinators.
Herbert is talented, and intelligent. My guess is that the injury may linger, but Herbert at 80% is still going to win games. He will run the offense effectively, but timing, and trust of the newer receivers takes time.
Sit him the first three games after pre season.
Dak has a better arm than Lamar Jackson
The Chargers should have a running game and they have really good blocking tight ends. They have had neither for years.
The QB’s in RED, Can’t Be Touched, so the coverage of him being tough n respected now is bazaar, when he knew no one could touch him?
The chargers should keep herbert out the first couple regular season games. The defense is going to be outstanding and can get the chargers wins.
If Staley was still the coach I'd be nervous but we got Harbaugh. We'll be good !
