  1. You’re so welcome, Gabe! Thanks for doing this. I’m loving my new graphite shaft version of these. Glad these will find a new home! Good luck everyone!

  2. Enjoy watching you "go after" those irons. You're striking the ball with whatever you're reviewing. Have you updated the channel on your swing thoughts, lately? Just enjoy watching you attack the clubs through the ball. Clubs are beauties, again, but just wanted you to know I'm getting something out of your swing, too. Cheers!

  3. I'm glad you're getting to this review. I came so close to buying these, but ended up going with the previous TE model because I had them, sold them for what I had in them, and decided to replace them since I was very happy with them, and they were the absolute best value in forged clubs. I'm sure I'll get another set choosing from the gorgeous new line of irons at some point. Maybe I'll catch them on a sale. That was quite a gift that Josh offered up. Very generous.

  4. Bought these in (silver finish) 5-gw, shipping was around $100AUD for those wondering if you are from Australia

  5. Good review interesting set! Thanks. The new Vice Pro, Pro Air, Pro Plus, are supposed to be much better balls this year! I saw Nicks review on Golf Ball Adict.

  6. on another note since you are playing the Legato, have you noticed a discoloration on the ball. I am getting a rust-colored stain, although faint, it is noticeable. Sent some pics to the company, but no response. I love the ball !

  7. I'm so happy to see Maltby getting the recognition they deserve! I've been to their facility in Newark, Ohio and tested a few sets over the years while having my sets regripped or shafted, but never committed to buying their sets. Maybe my next set will be Maltby!

  8. I tried both the DBM and Chrome of the previous generation and the DBM is a tad harder at impact.

  9. Looks like these are great value irons for you guys in the US. For me in Thailand, not really. Great video Gabe.

  10. Gabe, can’t help but notice your alignment is closed on almost every shot…sometimes dramatically closed. It’s been that way in all your videos. Your ball striking is going to be negatively influenced by poor alignment, especially if/when your swing/timing isn’t at its best.

  11. I literally JUST thought about buying these clubs, do a search, and here's Gabe to the rescue… 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

  12. Gabe hi!!!
I have to tell you that as a viewer I think you are doing YouTube the right way.
Your matrix of reviews have a nice blend of top tier brands and dtc. And the product diversity is excellent as well.
Additionally, I appreciate that you refrain from using inflammatory/clique bait type names for your videos. You don’t need to- when I see a new post from you I’m most likely to watch it anyway. Above all you have developed credibility in your opinions that I trust as a consumer of the majority of these product types. The latest product isn’t always the greatest and I thank you for that!!!

  13. I have a set of barely hit old Honma LB 280 in the bag. They look very similar. If they are anything like the Honmas, I could imagind they would be amazing.

  14. $78.50 per head CND. Plus shaft and grip will put you over a $100 bucks per club. Not that cheap.

  15. Nice six iron! I've researched these mainly on golfwrx website, loads of knowledge there, and the diamonized finish is a bit harder in terms of feel. More than a few claimed that so it must be true.
Forgetting the price thing I hope you'll review the yet to be released Taylormade p7CB's, aka proto, irons that have been lurking out on tour lately. Sort of a modern take on a retro design!

  16. As a disabled veteran, I’ve tried to move to players irons but keep falling back to my ugly C522’s. It would be an honor to try and strike these irons as pure as you do. Loving your consistent ball striking and contribution to the YouTube good community. 🤘🤘🤘

  17. I play the satin chrome 5-PW with the same shaft. Best forged cb I’ve played from Maltby, and better than the Sub70 I was playing, and the CALLAWAY I had before.

  18. I am new to golf and only started playing last august, i noticed that my distance with maltbys ts4 compared to my cavity back callaway x-20, was shorter but after a bunch of range sessions and better form, i was able to get my distance control to match.

  19. Appears to be a nice set. Would be concerned about buying a set without first being able to strike them.

  20. I almost got this set after seeing your first video a while back, but have to wait a bit to get my wallet in order 🙂 Thanks for your very informative videos Gabe!

  21. I've always felt that the irons with the black anodized finish felt harsher, if that's even a word, than the same model offered in chrome or neutral finish. Could be a mental thing or even related to sound. First time I noticed it was back when Mizuno wedges came in both chrome and black. Several years ago I really wanted a new set of Hogan PTx Pros. Since they had a really cool demo program I had them send me 7 irons, one in each finish. I ended up going with the chrome instead of the black which is the ones I probably would have bought if I hadn't been able to demo them beforehand which surprised me. Glad I tried both.

  22. Great looking irons … I think the black finish is awesome, I am just not sure about the aesthetic reliability …

  23. Nice review! I played a couple of the older versions of this iron and they were great. I've been leaning towards the TS3 or TS1-IM, but the black DBM finish of these is very cool

  24. Legato balls are pretty good. Flew a 6i into a green and it stuck. Rolled out like 1ft ½. Feels good off the putter and chipping. I'd order them again

  25. Gabe, I've had an absolutely awful last couple days and watching you drop another Maltby review and your positive demeanor has really helped. Thanks for being an awesome part of the golf community.

  26. These irons are right in my budget range. Nice to see some forged irons at an affordable price and have great performance!

  27. Sitting here after having my knee rebuilt considering what irons I could possibly get on my return in roughly 3 mths time 🤔 and saw this video, wow !! These look awesome

  28. Love it, just stinks they don’t have left handed, I’m one of those 10% lol. That is alright love my Takomo 101’s, bought after your review, and then everyone started reviewing the and said the Same. They are such great feeling clubs especially when you hit them pure.

  29. I’d love to try Maltby irons but their forged heads are all pretty small size wise and I prefer a little larger iron. And their KEmax iron is unappealing to me.

  30. This set would be perfect to match with the rest of the stuff in my bag with these lofts!! And in regular flex!! I wish I could get my hands on this brand up here in Canada!
