  1. A week ago Rick and Guy weren’t excited about the forthcoming Open.
Now….the Open is the best event ever and they’re urging everyone to enter the ballot for next year. Coincidentally this episode is also sponsored by The Open 😂😂

  2. look i get you are English lads, but if you cant leave heavy bias at the door, its not a conversation but a bit of a hit piece. Rory and Lowry getting it in the neck, while Hatton and others float above your fog of righteous determination. I enjoy debate but Guy kind of just leans into a weird emotion sometimes. I hope a Irish person wasn't bad to him in the past.

  3. Having the players in May used to act like a 5th major…putting it in March and putting the pga in May was a mistake…however. golf can't compete with American football in October. Their TV ratings fall off so quickly which is why they moved everything up.

  4. April Masters…May Players…June US Open…July The Open…August PGA. September is Ryder or President's Cup. What about a bigger tournament in March. Doesnt have to be a major?!?!?

  5. Agree with what guy said about Lowry, first id seen of him (I’m new to golf) and he seemed extremely rude

  6. The coverage in US was God awful, it was heavily edited. Guys would hit there tee shots and it would skip to them hitting there second shot right away. On Par 3’s it would sometimes completely skip them putting and the leaderboard would shows scores not in real time

  7. If you wana see average golfers do the open
    4 brothers did it
1 shot really well – 2 really struggled

  8. The idea of moving the PGA to November would never work as the northern courses in the States are closed for the winter after October 31. I would like to see The Memorial Tournament become the fifth "major". It was founded by Jack Nicklaus, played on the same course each year, and always has a very strong field of players.

  9. The best major varies year-to-year and is determined by the contest not the tournament. Nobody wants to see one guy run away with it for example. Equally, nobody wants to see easy birdie golf regularly seen on the PGA/LIV tours. This is why the golf ball rollback is nonsense – players can be tamed with tough courses/conditions rather than massive fairways and non-existant rough.

  10. They will NEVER try to put a major during the USA football season…
    They would never try that…

  11. The four majors are all appealing for very different reasons…. don't try and create something that just isn't there just to be controversial.

  12. As a viewer, I found the Open to be the least enjoyable to watch compared to the other three majors. I'm not taking anything away from the skill it takes to perform that well at a links course in brutal conditions but I just found the coverage to be lacking slightly. Perhaps in person it was more enjoyable.

  13. Sorry guys, playing The Open in Scotland in August is a non-starter. Would lose an hour of daylight start & end of the day. Would need to provide head torches 😉 Move PGA to later in the year & share around outside USA 👍

  14. I was at the 1982 Open for all 4 days, as a 17 year old, with my cousin(same age). No adults. Did not pay once to get in. Camped nearby, didn't pay there either🤣🤣Coach from Leeds to Glasgow and bused from there. Imagine doing that now !!!

  15. The open was an amazing, heart wrenching, and exciting major. One thing I would love to hear about is the story with Nick Dunlap. While the open was going on he took the win at the Barracuda Championship. First player to EVER win as an amateur AND professional in the same year. He’s broken through a lot in the golf scene holding accolades with names like Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson and now holds one that’s his own.

  16. The majors are in America because it's the PGA not PGW. Professional Golfers of America, not the Professional Golfers of the World.

  17. The PGA Championship is run by the PGA of America so it is highly unlikely it would ever be a worldwide event.

  18. I think this may be Guys best episode to date. Straight talking, making tons of sense and always sexy. The sort of guy I’d like to have many a beer with and talk pure golf.

  19. This is why LIV works for those outside of USA… The RoW play in different conditions, on some different courses. PGA is US centric, and the world is voting to defer from that. Tours as products aside…its crying out for an international major! ..but you'd need a solid universal world ranking agreed!

  20. The tennis season starts in Australia in January hahaha. Literally the first grand slam of the year in the first couple weeks.

No normal person thinks a season starts mid year.

  21. The Open is the best major because the players have to think about there shots a lot more and hazards are hazards not like in America were you just hit driver off the tee then pick a wedge for there next shot

  22. No it’s not. The weather is usually crappy which makes it unpleasant for fans and participants. The courses are contrived for difficulty with little natural beauty (unlike hmmm Augusta). Oh, and it’s held Great Britain (enough said)
