welcome to the ladies Crazy Golf Championship organized by Gemini mini golf club at Hastings adventure golf on the practice day for the world crazy golf championships our first player is Rachel King who was the winner of the inaugural competition that was held last year by Gemini here at Hastings Adventure Golf our second player is Zeta toper who is Hungarian she is part of the Welsh mini golf club Zeta is also playing in the team event here which Hastings Adventure Golf organized alongside the world Crazy Golf Championship the scorer is Rocky bulling who came fourth last year in the world crazy golf championships he is the son of Ruth the Gemini Captain our next player is Charlotte Sandy from liscard in Corall [Music] she used to play high level tennis in the United States but now back in the UK she’s taken up mini golf I think her tennis experience translates well into mini golf such as pressure management focus and concentration balance and control and learning to bounce back from missed [Music] shots winning off does have its own unique challenges especially on sloping holes like this one the next group is led by Shelley Cooper who came second in last year’s Gemini women’s competition she plays for Foxy’s mini golf [Music] club and Next plan is Laura Skinner who’s representing Wales she’s also in the team competition later on she’s wearing the same pink T-shirt as Rachel was in the first group as they’re in the same [Music] team our next player Sue goodhead is a local player from East Sussex I don’t think she plays any other competitive mini golf so it’s great to see her here today starting the next group is D she also played last year and came third she lives fairly local to the course and plays for Hastings mini golf club this is Cindy coka she is the third member of the swet opian team wearing a pink T-shirt who will be playing in the team event later with Laura and Rachel [Music] now we have Karen dubry Karen doesn’t play on the British mini golf circuit she’s a local player who played last year in the ladies competition I believe she just enjoys playing in the world crazies and this is her only competition of the year so it’s nice to see her again [Music] [Music] in the final group is Ruth sturdy the captain of Gemini Golf Club who’ve organized this event with the support of Hastings Adventure Golf Ruth was organizing last year and didn’t play finally we have Amanda for aan from the United States this is her first visit to the world crazies and we hope she’ll become a regular player [Music] here this is the iconic windmill on whole five of this Arnold Palmer crazy golf [Music] course you have to play through the obstacle you can’t go around the windmill and the Sails are capable of stopping the ball from passing through Nora and her husband Steven on a mini golf course in South Wales near Newport it’s a nine-hole course and they’ve had several fun competitions on there in the last couple of years Laura enjoys the different events over the weekend and the fact that it’s a family occasion they can bring their two children and enjoy a weekend which includes competitive mini golf that’s Steve and her husband just coming to give some moral support Laura tells me she’s started playing competitive mini golf when they could no longer go to theme parks because she was 6 months pregnant they both loved the game as you can tell by them running a course for a [Music] job standing next to Steven keeping score is sevy Cookie Ela he is Cindy’s son and owns AC’s mini golf course at Bluster [Music] it’s interesting that several of the women playing today uh their Partners or family members also play and uh I think it’s going to be an important factor for bringing women into the tour it’s a friendly family activity and several women mentioned the supportive camaraderie especially in the women’s game a [Music] [Music] the person scoring for this group is voles he is Hungarian and the husband of Zeta who’s also playing the partners of the women playing have been really supportive and given up their practice time to score and help in different ways with this event [Music] [Music] Richard M on the right here taking some photographs for us he is the partner of Rachel King who’s also playing he’s supporting her today [Music] keeping schore for this group is Marton geda from Hungary who plays for Welsh mini golf club when he is not in an international [Music] competition Mander is Consulting her putting notes there which are an essential part of mini golf especially on a course like this [Music] [Music] here at H 10 we see Rachel who as I mentioned before is last year’s winner so she was leading the groups out this time Rachel is a member of gluster R’s mini golf club whose Captain is sevy Cook [Music] koca charlott’s family members play as well Tam in and philli so hopefully we’ll see more of the sandies on the bmga tour and at the world crazies in the future as they bring their Sport and experience to bear on the mini golf [Music] game Shel says she would like to see an acknowledgement of the women’s game within the world crazies as I think most of the women playing today would agree [Music] Laura enjoys the camaraderie and supportive atmosphere in the sport as a whole but especially among the female players who are indeed very supportive of each other’s play [Music] now Sue again our local player hopefully we’ll see her next year to make it 3 years in a row [Music] [Music] D has won an event on another of the courses here at hings we’re very lucky to have three worldclass courses on the site here D won the Winkle charity event last [Music] year Cindy says she enjoys working at AC’s mini golf club at gler which is run by her son seie [Music] Ruth is a member of the women in sport Committee in the world mini golf Federation and Ruth is very ke to promote the women’s game the world cat golf championships is separate from the British Mini Golf Association and the world mini golf Federation it’s a very important event in the mini golf calendar it’s a world competition and it promotes mini golf and hopefully the women’s game as well Amanda and our partner Brian founded the putters league in Atlanta in the United States with the aim of promoting the sport of minigolf and bringing together people who share a common interest she says our league is designed to be inclusive welcoming and supportive of all players no matter their age gender race religion background or ability which I think should apply to all mini golf [Music] clubs sh has been British women’s mini golf champion three times in her career [Music] that’s Shell’s partner giving her a fist pump is James holling rake a bmga category one [Music] player Hastings Adventure Golf have been very supportive of this women’s event last year and this year and Gemini irin talks with them at the moment to get a women’s competition including in the official World crazy golf championships in [Music] 2025 D says it would be great if there was a women’s event as there are not that many women that play and this may highlight the sport and encourage more to participate [Music] [Music] Cindy says that she enjoys playing competitive mini golf because for her it’s a mindful activity and she’s always found that when she plays mini golf it’s the only thing she thinks about it’s quite liberating although frustrating at the same time [Music] [Music] Cindy likes cruises Cold Water swimming and playing mini golf by the Sea especially in Hastings [Music] Ruth has been the British women’s mini golf champion 12 times in her career and has played over 100 events in this country she’s a very experienced [Music] [Music] player Amanda says she believes that mini golf is a fun and exciting way to socialize exercise and challenge yourself [Music] the [Music] Rachel is often top lady in mixed British events [Music] Rachel finishes on a score of 37 there goes Simon Brown who’s one of the regular successful British players who also volunteer to help the ladies game [Music] today Zeta finishes on a score of [Music] 36 Charlotte finishes on a score of 39 [Music] [Music] Shelly finishes on a score of 33 [Music] Nora finishes on a score of 36 [Music] Sue finishes on a score of 35 [Music] D finishes on a score of 30 [Music] Cindy finishes on a score of 38 [Music] Karen winning 5 so could have been should have made it bigger in third place winning 5S is me in second place with a round of 33 is Shelly and the winner Trophy and £80 by last year’s winner R show is D
