The point is, they were both poor throughout this tournament. Yet the likes of Gordon and Eze (who are both also very good players) were barely even given a sniff.
What is the point of continually playing Kane if he's that ineffective and/or tired?
Give someone else a go and rest Kane. Start Watkins for a couple of matches and bring Kane on as a sub. Dont just keep playing players who are clearly playing levels below their best.
We kept hearing how Bellingham was tired and had been struggling towards the end of last season. Palmer, looked energetic everytime he came on. Why not rest Bellingham, Kane and Foden in the third group game and give some of the other players a chance to show what they could do?
