Hey guys in today’s lesson video I will show you the number one reason why amateur golfers lack clubhead speed. If you follow this practice method and fix this one easy thing I guarantee you will gain clubhead speed effortlessly and gain distance as well! As always thank you guys so much for watching and supporting my channel.

[Music] hey guys in today’s lesson video I just H my 7even iron around 966 mph so in today’s lesson video let’s talk about how we could create effortless speed so we could create effortless distance and we don’t have to hit the golf ball really really hard and we could still hit the golf ball far ways so in today’s lesson video let’s talk about what amateur golfers do wrong and why they can create more Club at speed and for amate golfers as soon as they try to add more Club at speed there’s one reason why the club speed actually goes directly down so let’s talk about that in today’s lesson video and let’s continue to talk about how to create effortless speed and distance so the first thing we have to talk about is our grip pressure so on a scale of 1 to 10 my grip pressure is around a 2 or three so very very light but for most amateur golfers they start with around A8 or n grip pressure or they might have a two to three grip pressure but coming down when they’re trying to hit the golf ball at impact everything tenses up and they grip as strong as possible so our grip pressure you could think of it as a breake when we’re riding a bike so when we’re riding a bike if we squeeze our hands on the handle we’re going to hit the brakes then what happens is is that of course the bike stops it’s the same thing for the golf swing as soon as we grip onto the handle very very tightly our our whole club and our whole momentum is going to slow down so our club head speed is going to slow down so in today’s last video as always I try to keep it very simple so the one thing we’re going to try to do is when we’re coming down ever so slightly from around halfway down we’re going to let go of my right hand then naturally I’m going to have a good supern release and the main thing we have to do is my left arm my lead arm has to fold in this manner right here we have to supinate release the golf club but instead of my left arm working off of my body in this manner right here my lead arm has to fold back in this manner right here with that same super native release that we always talk about this Throne motion so the one key thing we’re going to do in today’s lesson video is is that from halfway down we’re going to let go of our right hand and throw the golf club but it’s going to feel like my hands instead of throwing the golf club and my hands and my arms working far away from my body we’re going to keep my hands relatively very close to my body as shown right here then we’re going to have a very compact feel and we’re almost throwing the golf club towards the target but we’re not doing it with a lot of strength and a lot of power so it’s that same field we have to throw the golf club past our body past our body and from this position all we have to do is add a little bit of body rotation going through then we’ll have a perfectly good golf swing so from this position what we we have to realize is that coming down once our hands comes back down to around halfway down and when once we get back to around roughly around our setup position then the golf club and my hands from this position should not go past my body all together what we want to do is once my hands come down back to my setup position then instead of my hands passing my lead leg we want my hands to stay relatively quiet and we want the club head to pass my lead leg before my hand drags through my lead legs so what to feel for that kind of position is is that we want to get into cross-handed grip in this manner right here so from this position once my lead hand gets back to around my setup position then with my right hand we’re going to send the club head past my body in this manner right here so instead of everything working together and instead of my lead hand working past my lead leg we want the club head just feel wise we want the club head to pass my lead leg before my hand does it’s going to look something like this let the club head pass by in this manner right here and from the side view always remember that the club head has to stay on the right side of my hands and not work behind me so it’s that same feel stay very very relaxed and we’re going to get the club head to pass my body pass my body and we’re going to throw the golf club towards one: in this position right here and I guarantee you we’re going to have a lot more speed and from this position another 95 mph which is just just around T average or maybe a little bit above T average with minimum effort so from this position the only thing that I would say is when we’re trying to practice this move we’re just throwing the golf club if we ever try to hit the golf ball then we’re going to grip tightly again and we’re going to hit the brakes with the club and our speed is going to IM immediately come down so grip pressure around a 2 or three and we’re not going to hit the golf ball we’re just going to swing through and throw the club and this manner right here and I guarantee you we’re going to get more Club at speed and more distance without even trying to hit the golf ball and kill the golf ball so in today’s lesson video remember we’re trying to throw a golf club out in front without effortless release and we’re not trying to hit the golf ball so if you guys like the lesson video please like And subscribe to help my channel grow and for inpersonal online 1. I used to play baseball in college so I have the throw / swing muscle memory and speed. I used to swing faster before taking lessons. Now, I can’t reach the same speed as I did even when I try to swing it fast. Hopefully, your videos will help me get my speed back

  2. Great lesson! I tend to come over the top and hit at the ball. In baseball I would be a pull hitter! I really like the idea of letting go of the right hand. Thank you!

  3. I feel like the whole hold the face and rotate craze if fading and old skook throwing the clubhead golf is coming back. In this manner right here.

  4. Im confused… the cross hand drill; club must stay on right side of hands but when you are preforming it the club head goes past yur body. Please elaborate. Thanks

  5. Thanks Kelvin, i tried this method, but 80% go left and 20% go right😢…speed really go up but direction sucks…

  6. Guarantee??
I have been trying to figure this Swing out now for 6 months and all I have done is totally messed up the swing I did have. Went from playing around 90 to now shooting over 115 every single time.
I am almost ready to quit playing golf all together. 😢
Do you use this Swing on ALL your full swing shots?

  7. You should show the difference in club head speed if you gripped the club on the downswing with an 8 or 9 grip pressure! That way people could extrapolate how much distance they are losing.

  8. Excellent lesson Kevin. Probably the best explanation on how to increase clubhead speed that I've heard to date (And believe me, I've watched more than I care to admit). Looking forward to trying this on the range. Thank you.

  9. and what about the arms extension after impact? the arms supoust to be extendet???
