Rory McIlroy talks about finished T4 at the Scottish Open about his play and his mindset heading into The 152nd Open Championship at Royal Troon in Scotland.
got a shot worse every day 65 66 67 68 um yeah it was good I mean I I um I felt like I was hitting good putts over the weekend and definitely the greens got a lot slower when that ring came in yesterday uh and then I could couldn’t really get a handle on them today I was leaving a lot of put short and um when they do get that slow actually find it a little trickier to read them um so I had you know I had a lot of chances that that uh that I wasn’t able to convert and you know that was sort of the story of the week felt like the ball striking was was there pretty much every day there was a few you know Scrappy bits here and there but overall it was a good week to see where my game is heading into next week especially after the the back of three weeks off and um you know overall you know pleased pleased with the week with you know one eye on on trying to defend here but obviously with an eye on trying to get prepared for for TR as well yeah I I think it’s really good um you know I got a a little bit um you know I haven’t I haven’t played lyx golf since Hoy Lake last year so it was good to get back on a lynx course for the first time um got to play in a little bit of wind today you know it’s still not much but a little bit more than than we had uh and then yeah just getting climatized to the shots that you need and um you know maybe I don’t think the speed of the greens are going to be too dissimilar next week as well so we just trying to you know adjust to that so you know overall um you know I feel like my game’s in in really good shape heading into the final major of the year

Just hope for his well being – Rory just stays in Europe to get his love of golf back playing with all his genuine supporters. It was hard seeing PGAT fans cheering against Rory at the US Open when they chanted USA/USA. It must be hard for Rory reflecting on his decision not to take the $700 Million LIV offered him. Rory is really more of a natural international golf tour player than a USA regional tour pro. 😀 In the future I hope to see top players like Rory on all the tours. Can you imagine seeing Rory, Phil, Bryson and Jon Rahm playing in a featured foursome? I would love it. 😀
