and by the way there’s some scoop in this today there’s some scoop um there’s one scoop Cowboy scoop and there’s one Scoopy prediction all right dissing deck um this is still the time when everybody puts together their lists we’re almost done with the listicle season um this is CBS Sports and uh it’s not just some schlam Pete prisco who’ been doing this for a long time uh longtime NFL beat riter he’s put together his top 100 players in the NFL dax’s number 49 now how do you get compare a quarterback to a defensive end what do you with an offensive lineman do kickers count all that all that junk about top 100 what we decided to do is dig in there and look at just the quarterbacks 15 quarterbacks made the top 100 here’s who Dak in this grouping was rated higher than rated higher than Herz who was at 53 Trevor Lawrence at 63 Tua at 65 Goff at 76 per5 love at 87 and KK cousins at 98 H now you can make the argument because Dak Prescott finished second in MVP voting first of all that kind of means in one sense of the debate you were kind of the second best player in the league kind of so H how am I 49th well you might respond well he Lo he loses in the playoffs okay but they all lose in the playoffs every year except momes who I believe was ranked number one in the top 100 what has Trevor Lawrence done in the playf what has Tua done in the playoffs Jordan love has his win now in the playoffs what’s Kirk Cousins really done done in the playoffs based on the idea that a Super Bowl is all that matters because that’s what we say in Dallas what is Jaylen Herz and Brock pie done in the playoffs now what about the quarterbacks ranked ahead of Dak and you can say that Dak shouldn’t be in the top 100 if you want to you can put him in the top 10 I don’t care it’s listicles there’s no argument about Mahomes at number one Lamar Jackson’s at 16 okay Patrick momes is a better player performer quarterback than Dak of course he is Lamar Jackson he hadn’t won a Super Bowl either he has performed consistently at a higher level than Dak Prescott based if only on his two MVPs they have Josh Allen at number six I’m not saying that they are the exact same talent but Josh Allen and Dak Prescott if you watch them both play and if you examine the numbers and then you measure the results they’re remarkably similar it’s weird that Josh Allen’s turnovers didn’t get the same attention as oh uh interceptions are in dax’s DNA which was a national thing they did it on NFL Network and then it caught on locally and it was false when they did it on the radio and the people that said it have been made to look foolish Joe burrow 15th that much better than Dak I think on paper he is Aaron roders 20th now wait a minute they have CJ strout at 38 I think CJ strout’s outstanding they have Justin Herbert at 41 so they have Justin Herbert better than deck he’s never done anything looks great let’s go back to Aaron Rogers who’s one of our favorite love to hates here how can Aaron if you’re basing it on well Dak lost a playoff game he he was an MVP finalist but lost the playoff game so he could only be 49th how do you put Aaron Rogers at 20 Aaron Rogers hasn’t done anything in years uh he did not have a particularly good year his final season in Green Bay you know what he accomplished in Green Bay one thing he threw three good passes against Dallas and what did he accomplish in New York he played four plays before he fell down so is this dissing Dak when we put him at 49 and how much of this is subjective when Aaron roders is listed as the 20th best player in the sport when I haven’t seen him play in a year and I haven’t seen him play well in three years I’m not I’m not taking there aren’t 48 players in the NFL because of the importance a quarterback that I’m taking ahead of Dak Prescott uh and you might be able to argue that you can kind of just throw them into a into a bucket and pick one with listen if I’m basing on where we’re going as a quarterback I will take Trevor Lawrence I will I guess I’ll take Jordan love if if I’m basing on where we’re going and I’m taking Joe burrow and I’m taking CJ Stout and I’m taking Justin Herbert but even that’s a short list the the young stud quarterbacks that appe that that have some accomplishments but appear to have brilliant Futures burrow CJ Herbert love Trevor in if you’re G to make that as the category Dak Prescott at 30 years old gets to be behind them but I’m not putting I’m not putting Dak Prescot uh 50 30 spots behind Aaron Rogers just can’t do that I can’t do it to Dak and I can’t do it for Aaron Jason Ceno hers beat Dak why based on what great I’ll take Aaron Rogers over Dak any day of the week Rogers wins in the playoffs yeah last decade Ray G why is Herbert in any of these conversations what’s he ever done nothing Steve Aman haters the people that don’t understand what Aman accomplished aren’t old enough to have watched him item two uh most of you are here because you believe what I tell you which I appreciate I told you from the very first day based on a source inside the building who’s close to Dak he told me fish don’t waste a lot of time on this injury this wasn’t with him in Cabo but a source in the building close to Dak told me it’s nothing and that’s what I told you stood by my story then and obviously I stand by it now how how’ you like another one here’s the Scoop there’s a great deal of uh concern and worry Diggs what what somebody said digs doesn’t work hard enough why do we do that to these guys how the hell do you know how do you know so now there’s a video of Diggs he’s on the beach he’s training on a beach I’m told that while it’s a possibility that he might start training camp on pup that it’s not automatic that he’ll do so possibility not automatic and that there is no concern about him being ready for September none that can change that can go wrong there could be a setback but the same people that told me about Dak are now telling me about Diggs he’ll be fine and he he might be fine early on in training camp they feel really good about him being fine for September um it’s true sha D don’t rush him back too fast absolutely not if he’s not ready he’s not ready and we’ve seen Michael gallup’s a great example of somebody that the the medical people were saying you’re fine and Michael Gallop was okay if you say so I just don’t feel that can happen too but this idea that there’s some there’s some worry about Trayvon digs is wrong it’s wrong there’s your scoop item four uh David Helman was on 1053 The Fan old friend David Helman old friends at 1053 The Fan now he’s doing work with Fox and he said something about for this team to really be good this year uh vocals is Uncle fish premium member for 30 months the plan you wouldn’t so they won’t item two which is item seven Stephen said we have a Target date of getting it done by Camp you know what a Target date is in Jerry e don’t you uh miss m uh deadine make deals when they have a Target date that means deadline that’s that’s a that’s their language for deadline they have created in their minds a deadline but fish you said blow it up not on CD lamb they’re not going to blow it up on CD lamb they’re and they’re not going to blow it up on Micah parsons’s Steve from Texas to make it clear the blow it up is about oneyear deals on a host of mediocre that and then item eight reasons that I think CD lamb gets done by the 24th 25th 26 there’s no cost cap wise in doing it there’s kind there’s there’s obviously you know sign a five-year deal obviously there’s cost they will save $10 million under the cap by signing CD lamb now by the way when we say well okay but if if it’s blow it up after this year then what is $10 million going to do for him this year if you don’t spend the $10 million under the cap it’s transferable to the next year uh for those that are try of you trying to argue about a blow it up if you sign everybody in the building to a one-year contract that is a sign don’t be a if you sign everybody to one your contracts and don’t give anybody extensions everybody in the building knows what that means if you want to pretend control in that way he’s down for $17.8 million next year the tag number next year is 22 something okay you could say you know what CD screw you we’re going to pay you 17 this year we’re going to pay got that and everybody’s got an opinion uh and they’re like noses everybody’s got an opinion and they all smell you get my joke everybody’s got an opinion but they all smell and they all smell get it because your nose can smell and boy does your opinion stink get it okay his top five quarterbacks Patrick Mahomes agree number one number one quarterback in football number two Dak Prescott who do you say Dak Prescott okay it’s funny you should say that he has Tua as the number two quarterback now remember he plays for the Dolphins so Tyreek plays for the Dolphins so he should say Tua right that’s a good teammate but also um Patrick Mahomes was his old team and they’re teammates they were teammates too that’s excellent point guy number three Lamar Jackson he won the MVP can’t argue with lar Jackson right yeah guy number four is Dak he thinks dak’s the fourth best quarterback in football yes is that good for you yep guy number he should be number one you think he should no he he can’t be above Mahomes okay yeah yeah right you could be a you could be a Dak fan but you can’t think he’s better than Mahomes okay yeah because you’ll look like a dope in the neighborhood yeah and on National Television right yeah okay um we do allow three slappies per night for show but I don’t want you to be one of them Straight Dope no bullsh don’t be one of the slappies and then here’s this guy number five and I don’t know why you might know him because you’re an Oklahoma Guy baker Mayfield he thinks Baker Mayfield is the fifth best quarterback in football what I don’t know okay it you could go like for Justin Fields not yet J what about Josh Allen yeah Josh Allen just put Josh Allen in there I wonder if because Tyreek plays for the Dolphins he doesn’t want to admit that the bills have the
