Richard Bland Wins 2nd Senior Major Of 2024- Credits LIV For His Form

Richard Bland spoke to the media after winning the US Senior Open (his 2nd Senior Major Championship of 2024), and he credits the competition at LIV Golf where he competes with Cleeks GC for his form in 2024.

not even uh not even close I think this one’s going to take a little while um so yeah you know to you know your first two senior tournaments to be majors and to to come out on top is you know I was just hoping going into the PJ that you know I was good enough to contend you know I hadn’t played against these guys you know I kind of I knew if I played the way I know I can play it should be good enough to to be able to compete um but yeah you know to you know to be stood here with with two Mages is uh yeah yeah I’ve lost for words at the minute right now where would you say that buper shot ranked in your golf career yeah it’s up there um you know when when everything’s on the line you you you know you’re always probably thinking you know you’ve always got to think that he’s going to hold that putt but you know obviously it does creep into your mind to right well if I get this up and down there’s a good chance I’m US Open Champion um so yeah um but you know I just wanted to be you know just fully committed to it uh I didn’t want to kind of just kind of Hit the the sort of like the Duff and run shot it was one that right okay I can I can be aggressive with this and even if it pitched two three feet past I probably knew it would spit um so it was just one that I had just had to stay aggressive stay committed um and and yeah it came out came out perfect let me take you back like three years and where would you say Richard Bland the golfer is before you had the good run at Tory Pines in the US Open and where you’re at now uh yeah I’m a um I’m a way better golfer than I was back then um but I think that that’s that’s the caliber of players that I’m playing against uh on live um you know to to play against Bryson uh who won just the other week at Pinehurst to play against him to play against John Ram cam Smith DJ Brooks um they’re the best players in the world I don’t care what the what the world ranking sits um uh so if I’m going to compete with those guys um I have to bring my game I have to I I can’t bring my C game and and it won’t stack up against those so it just it just elevates my game and I think it’s done that unbelievably over the last three years um so um and and it’s it’s just made me a better player so yeah I’m probably the best player you know you might not you’re not always going to be playing your best golf but I’m the best player I’ve ever been
