orange and blue today is back with a what if that’ll I don’t know make you sick a little bit what if Joe Flaco was actually good with the Broncos mace this is what if he was Elite what if Elway was right Joe Flaco’s Elite well he didn’t say he was Elite he said he was just entering his prime his prime the elite thing was like the whole media discussion if you dive somewhere into the ainet catacombs you’ll find a colum I wrote in 2012 when the Broncos stomped the Ravens in Baltimore Chris Harris Jr had the coast to coast pick six off Joe Flaco and I said this shows he’s not Elite and then what happened a few weeks later let’s forget about that when the Broncos lost to the Ravens in the playoffs right right forget about that day but Flaco is a bronco we’re wearing our wacko for flacko shirts and Joe flacko is actually good yeah John Elway’s right he’s just entering his prime so is it that absurd to say it well I mean he was the comeback Player of the Year in 2023 now right I to the playoffs yeah I would argue that if you go for just coming back in life period it should have been Demar Hamlin if you go for coming back on the football field my choice would have been Baker Mayfield but Joe Flaco did stabilize the Browns when they need it most although it’s interesting to look at his Advanced metrics cease he had a negative EPA per play for the Browns in 2023 minus 016 just behind Justin Fields just ahead of Deshawn Watson Russell Wilson had a better EPA play last year than Joe Flaco did yeah then flacko got figured out in the postseason it’s kind of what it was but what about this like if we’re talking about what if Joe Flaco was good is good playoff good like we have to Define good because he got the Browns the postseason and then it got waxed because he got figured out because he really wasn’t that good well what about now when we’re defining what if Joe Flaco had actually been good in Denver we have to say like is that playoff good is that just regular season good and the Broncos are exposed in the postseason I’m going to say that good in Denver means a season that that he’s playing at a level with Rick scangarello Kyle Shanahan aoly as his offensive coordinator running the Shanahan McVey kubak kind of offense that he returns to the level he was at in 2014 that of course was the year when Gary kubak was his offensive coordinator in Baltimore before cops became the Broncos head coach Flaco had the second highest passer rating for a year in which he played more than two games in his career he had the highest qbr of his career with the Ravens and though and that Baltimore Ravens team didn’t go to the Super Bowl but won a playoff game in Pittsburgh sorry CE and then lost a very tough type playoff game in Baltimore or to to New England Baltimore lost to New England 3531 so if it looks like that first of all if Joe Flaco plays like that for the Broncos what does their 2019 season look like do they start two and two instead of 0 and four because I’m I’ll say they lose that game to the Raiders where desan Hamilton dropped the pass in the third quarter in the end zone and I’ll say they lose to Green Bay lost that game by a couple of scores okay Optics are better right it’s Flaco going Toe to Toe it’s but the other thing also is you had those close losses to Jacksonville and Chicago at home you win them both those are now wins two and two you go play the Chargers in La you’re 3-2 you play the Titans at home you’re 4-2 all of a sudden you are off to a good start now by saying he’s good I’m also going to say Joe flacko doesn’t get hurt in Indianapolis in week eight that ended his Bronco tenure and of course that’s remembered more for what he said after the game than the Broncos losing that the Broncos had a chance had a chance Flaco was frustrate at the play calling which gave the Colts the ball back gave jacobe Bret and Company one last chance to win and they did and Flaco who got hurt suffered the neck injury at the end of that game didn’t mince words when he talked with media after that game we’re now a two and six football team and we’re like afraid to go for it in a two-minute drill you know like who cares if you give the ball back to the guys with a minute and 40 seconds left they obviously got the field goal anyway and once again we’re a two and six football team and it just feels like we’re kind of afraid to lose a game uh it’s third and five at the end of the game um you know it’s who cares if they have a timeout there at the end or not you know getting in field goal range isn’t that tough uh you know so you’re just putting your defense in these bad situations and um I just felt like what do we have to lose like why can’t we be aggressive in some of these situations that’s kind of how I feel about a lot of the game today I love fassy flacko that was the best but here’s the thing if Joe flacko is playing better and you’re stacking some wins up early is Rich gello As conservative in that moment or is he saying yeah Flaco is having a good season I’m G to trust him to throw it Joe flacko that day in Indianapolis 76.8 passer rating 20 of 32 bucks 74 no touchdowns no picks was sacked three times including at the end where he suffered the neck injury that ended his Broncos career right he’s sassy flacko but I don’t think he would have had reason to be sassy if he played a little bit better early on in the season because again you start i’ I’ve got them starting 4- two let’s say they lose to Kansas City just because sure but you lose a close game Indianapolis you lose by two on a field goal and the with 22 seconds left a a Flaco who’s a little bit better you win that game and so you’re sitting there after eight games you’re five and three and so let’s go through the the rest of the season Cleveland they in reality they beat the Browns we’ll say they beat them here too sure at Minnesota that was the they they took a huge lead and blow it Brandon at quarterback I think they might blow that anyway just because that was where the cornerback there were a lot of injuries at quarterback it was catching up to him okay but that’s with Allen at quarterback not Flaco I’m gonna give him the win there I’m gonna give him okay so you got all right I’ll go with you then I’ll ride this this okay okay seven and three at Buffalo following week windy day loss seven that’s a loss yep Chargers you beat them with Drew lock in his first ever start when eight and four at Houston you clovered them with Drew lock playing well is Houston in the same mind frame because all of a sudden instead of a 4 and eight Bronco team coming in it’s an eight and four Bronco team yeah this is where I’d say maybe the game is completely different and it it would be a shootout because it would be hot flacko versus Deshawn yes I’m actually going to say a completely different type of game Houston wins okay okay and five go to Kansas City in the snow loss 8-6 but guess what you come back home you face Detroit and you face the Raiders in their last G last game in Oakland you win them both congratulations Den for Broncos you are 10 and six and this means you are a playoff team yay you are the number six seed in the postseason and your reward for being the number six seed in the playoffs is you get to go play at New England now here’s the thing this is New England struggling down the stretch this in the reality in the real Universe New England loses to Tennessee Joe Flack on the Broncos go to New England and end Tom Brady’s time as Patriots quarterback yep they win yep because that that was a that was a struggling team at that moment so we’ve ba so now I’ll say that the next week the Broncos would go to Baltimore Tennessee won that game in reality I I don’t I think the Joe Flaco revenge tour ends there yes right mhm all right so here we are 2019 you’re back in the playoffs Joe Flaco has gotten you back to the playoffs Vic fangio has coached the team the playoffs Rick scangarello is your offensive coordinator you’re not firing him and oh by the way who’s sitting there on the bench Drew lock Drew lock hasn’t gotten in right and he has a quarterback ahead of him who is is uninterested in being his mentor are you here to the mentor Drew Lu well like you know just kind of like you got to be careful with with how you answer that but I think that is like I said it’s kind of Rich’s job you know and it’s and it’s and it’s to be in that quarterback room and and watch and that’s how you can develop listen I got so many things to worry about I’m trying to go out there and play good football I’m trying to go out there and play the best football in my life um so as far as a Time constraint and all that stuff you know I’m not worried about developing guys or any of that you know that is what it is and like I said I hope he does developed but I don’t look at that as my job my job is to go win football games for this football team and Joe flaca would have done his job in this environment yes do your job he did it yes it was very interesting because that of course is the famous remark that led to an offal law discussion five years ago M he said something else right before then which I think is fascinating given Joe Flaco’s background it’s regarding what he thought would best help Drew lock develop let’s play that listen I hope he does learn from me because that means that we’re out there and we’re slinging it around and we’re having a lot of fun because he’s going to learn by watching us do it and watching us do it well that’s how he’s going to learn the timing and all those things is is to be able to see it on film and hear Rich talk about it with me and you know digest as much of that as possible so like I said I hope he does learn from me because that means we’re out there lighting it up okay I’m lighting it up you’re lighting it up but there are a couple of things here that I think are interesting number one did we not do a show a few m a few weeks ago talking about Payton Manning saying you learn by playing you learn by going out there and experiencing it right that was the way citing not only his experience but Eli’s experience his younger brother Eli learning more playing than on the bench okay second you know what happened to Joe Flaco when he was a rookie right let’s walk down memory lane Joe flacko coming out of Delaware jerk to me at the Senior Bowl first round pick and he started right away Baltimore went all the way to the AFC Championship game had a win at number one seed Tennessee in the divisional round before that a win at Miami which won the division in the year that Tom Brady was hurt yeah Joe flacko got an awful lot out of playing and so he it’s it was always interesting to me that he got up there on that Podium and talked about Drew lock being best learning by watching when the thing that happened for Flaco was he got out there right away so this is a guy who was very much in Turf protection mode you think in any way he would have offered any kind of council to Drew loock hell no not at all no way no chance oh gosh okay so rich gangell keeps his job Drew loock continues to develop not only does Rick shangar keep his job because he worked for Pat shermer’s not coming at least not yet because Richi has become an IT candidate like oh this guy look what he did he revived Joe flacko who’d been benched in favor of Lamar Jackson and he worked for Kyle Shanahan he’s got the secret sauce rich is getting some interviews yes because he’s got the right connections Vic fangio the grumpiness is not there Vick’s a winner as the head coach wow you say that Vick’s a winner everything he would been everything’s different okay John Elway it’s like oh man did it again you were right about Joe flacko that’s what everyone’s saying like yes oh you were right he was just entering his Prime and he still got locked to develop so John Elway doesn’t have that quote unquote shame of missing on Drew lock yes because we don’t know about lock he’s still behind flacko but Flaco is playing in his prime yep where’s John ‘s contract does he get extended yes oh my God John Elway gets [Laughter] extended still GM he brought them all the way back yes oh so after that playoff season with a playoff win John Elway signs a contract extension now very quietly things are set up to where Matt Russell basically becomes the air parent as general manager now of course Russell walked away at the time called it a retirement when he left the Broncos around the same time as John Elway it turned out to not be a retirement he’s working for your guy ho in Philadelphia yep so Matt Russell’s Back in a good place yes yep took Jordan dies on with him too I love Jordan as well yes yeah so but Elway here is the always good yeah but instead they’re here they’re both here he kept the band together right okay what does 2020 look like you know pandemic included what is that season because now we have to fast forward it like what’s flacko after a playoff appearance in year to what does that look like because we don’t have a Teddy versus Drew we don’t have any of that and we don’t have drew getting the whole thing yet we don’t have any of this and he’s operating in a scheme that we’re now saying brings out the best in him because we’re sitting here saying his two best and most most efficient Seasons By qbr are the ones running this offense so you’re lined up for 2020 you’re not picking as high this is another so let’s start there okay the 2020 NFL draft you’re not picking 15th because you you didn’t go you want a playoff game you want you want a playoff game right you’re picking like 25th yeah yes okay okay so John Elway remember this is John Elway hat on John Elway hat of like all right I got the Golden Touch again I got the golden touch and looking at the receiver core it’s a great receiver class right yep Henry rugs is off the board Jerry Judy’s off the board oh my God I know who you’re picking CD Lamb’s off the board Jaylen reger’s off the board Justin Jefferson’s off the board unless you move up for Justin Jefferson I I still want that to happen in this new Multiverse yeah Justin Jefferson right there I was gonna go I was gonna go t Higgins oh okay I could take that no a little bit of a move John Broncos move up and get Justin Jefferson oh my God so Joe Flaco oh my God is looking around and he’s seeing Justin Jefferson and courland Sutton smok of course here’s what happens wow wow that is amazing right wow you get to the second round and you you maybe maybe KJ hamler falls to the range that you pick but maybe you’re looking at around elsewhere okay late second round you got here’s some of the names on the board okay okay you got uh you got Jeremy chin Steve atwater’s nephew safety I would like that pick Willie Willie gay inside linebacker Mississippi State AJ Dylan running back Boston College eventual Door County Wisconsin enthusiast um Denzel MIM Ezra Cleveland I’m gonna go with a name that was taken very early in the third round it’s one it’s the Broncos pick one of these two players Logan Wilson I know you like your Cowboys from Wyoming oh my God Antonio Gibson let’s go because I’m saying in this universe they’re not signing Melvin Gordon right no Melvin Gordon let’s go with Gibson you signed Melvin Gordon because you had a bad red zone offense it’s better with Joe flacko playing at the best level he’s had in the last several years so you don’t have that same urgency there’s your running back you get Antonio Gibson oh my God J Antonio Gibson yes and Antonio Gibson and Philip Lindsay different types of running backs different body types Antonio Gibson 62 220 he’s got some moves but man he’s gonna be able to pound you right yep and unlike Washington the Broncos figure out how to use him and oh by the way they’re running the Shanahan McVey offense Gibson and Lindsay flourish together okay done wow all right as the third round goes on Broncos have h two picks first one’s still Lloyd cushenberry okay they have three picks they have but uh so they they get ly cushenberry their own pick is later I’m going to give them little I’m going to I’m going to say this is probably a pick that doesn’t quite uh work out uh cam dancer the quarterback from Mississippi State okay and then they still picked mctelvin aim that doesn’t work out okay unless okay do you want to just have some fun here let’s have some fun man it’s La GM Hat Time Alex heith o because we saw mctelvin and high Smith at The Shrine game at the year respect y to aim heith was the one that jumped out to both of us heith was the guy so that was a dude we both like like w watching him in the one-on-one that like he he owned the one-on ones so is this lway and maybe an elevated contract and then Russell is kind of like putting his stamp on things if he’s picking High Smith that’s not an laway move that’s a Russell move yeah saying Matt Matt what do you think you were down you know you were down at the shrine what do you think he said ah man I yeah like this really like this heith kid I know and you know and you know we can’t have enough egges around here which and John’s like oh sold yeah I like my ages yes I do now people are like oh well you have Von Miller and you have Bradley chub well you got another one Von Miller still gets hurt yeah because training camp is still all sorts of messed up okay but that’s great like you got now you got some depth there right you got you you got you got you got plenty you got plenty of depth there uh at egg of course um because you still have you have Bradley chub of course coming back from injury you have um you have Alex heith there and then of course you’ve got a guy who end up being your leading sacker uh that year and that of course was Malik Reed okay so you got pretty good rotation yeah um you’re kind of stocking the shelves again and in the fourth round you still pick Alberto okay okay I think we’ve sort of played this out as it would have gone um so you get to so you go through the off season it’s the covid year you can’t meet in person but you’re not asking everybody to learn a new offense you’re having the zooms and you’re building off of what you did last year Flaco is confident he’s comfortable yep you get to training camp and more so than a lot of other teams you have constancy of scheme from the previous year this is a team that looks like it knows what’s doing and oh my God Justin Jefferson ah wow Chris tarella is gonna get a head coaching job that’s what’s gonna happen okay they have another strong season in 2020 and then will L would to be drafted in the first round because scangarella wouldn’t ruin him in college yes maybe the key for skang gello is he just needs a quarterback who’s already developed and needs a little you know just needs someone to call the plays and Justin Jefferson Antonio Gibson imagine what that would do for locks development oh yes now yeah we don’t know the order of the games because of course you know the Broncos would probably have more Prime Time games coming off playoff appearance blah blah BL sure sure in this universe Courtland Sutton’s still getting hurt Jefferson takes over then yes Justin Jefferson becomes wide receiver one and becomes an alpha real fast a superstar yes Mega star like oh my God and becomes not only a great player but for Joe Flaco losing courland sun because losing Court hurts to this day the best that Courtland Sutton’s ever played for a multi-game stretch was eight games with Joe Flaco it was a perfect mix of quarterback and receiver skill set yes you know you go go get the post go get the nine ball Flo could it and Sut would go get it but now imagine La that’s what my mind’s just kind of stuck on La imagine how big’s head would be because he moved up for Justin Jefferson oh God Jefferson’s like this Mega star laway I am so back John Elway like I’m the greatest ever you know good for you bud good for you yeah oh my god wow oh wow and Vic vano just all smiles every day every day Vic vano smiling loving it styling profiling okay I’m gonna throw something else in there okay is Blake Bortles your emergency covid quarterback no okay so you know what happens you don’t have the co you don’t have the contact Tracer incident you don’t have Kendall Hinton playing quarterback you don’t have the embarrassment of of that because if something go you know you don’t have that and so something goes a skew it’s okay it’s an honest mistake we’ll wait until you get some until they get cleared but we’re gonna take that game that happened that it all happens that week we’re gonna play it on Tuesday because you were following the rules rather than making you pay for not just going a foul of regulations but then lying about it MH it’s always the cover up that gets you and this part case it was a colossally stupid cover up because there are cameras everywhere there cameras everywhere yeah yeah you you think they weren’t gonna check that idiots yeah not great not great Bob so what is their record in 2020 because I’m there’s this scenario I kind of want to get to if we’re going to get a little crazy CU he stopped Tom Brady with New England does he stop Tom Brady with Tampa no because they don’t get that they don’t get that far are they going back to back oh I I will say this one of the games they win instead of lose is when Tom Brady and Tampa Bay come in okay okay so they stop Tommy then they don’t get to the Super Bowl but are they making the playoffs and are we going going back to back Drew lock still waiting Joe Flaco’s throwing darts to Justin Jefferson Antonio Gibson Philip Lindsay tearing it up oh man this is good really good why couldn’t Joe Flo be good look at what because we’re saying in this what the question what if Joe flacko were actually good what if yeah you’re going back you’re going back to the playoffs oh my God two years in a row two play a row man you’re back to the playoffs you are the so they now this was a year where 10 and six wasn’t good enough it was topheavy okay um because you’re not winning the division you’re not beating k no they went Chiefs went 14 and two but right okay you came close to beating Kansas City in Arrowhead on Sunday night with Drew lock and we know in this season the crowd didn’t matter there were 16,000 people at Arrowhead that night not enough to make a difference so the Broncos stopped the chief streak there in 2020 at Arrowhead they pull off the win nice okay the Broncos get to 11 and five and i’ I’d have to go through the permutations on the tiebreakers and all that but they nudg their way into the postseason they it’s the first year with seven playoff so it was a oh for sure then they they make the playoffs for sure it was a it was an incredibly top heavy year in the AFC because you had you had eight teams in the AFC that won at least 10 games and then you had a bunch of teams that were just bad right like the Jets were bad the Jaguars were Dreadful um the Bengals were terrible so you know Joe Joe burrow of course got hurt Midway of the season so they go to the playoffs and and in that scenario last the previous year we had them winning a game they would have been o I’ll give you one at Pittsburgh they lose Pittsburg lost to Cleveland in that playoff yep Pittsburgh was slumping remember that was a Steelers team that from much of the Year looked like it was going all the way yes 11 and0 yep the Steelers get to the playoffs having lost four of five I think the Broncos go to hind field and win I kind of want uh I want scangarello to either move on or lose his job so if they lost in the Wild Card like hey they won a playoff game the year before then they lost you know fangio would blame he didn’t like he didn’t like Rich um but they win against Pittsburgh skang is getting a head coaching job so you’re getting rid of him anyway he moves on okay so they win against Pittsburgh all right so now they’re in the 2021 NFL draft Elway feeling himself we just hired Pat Shermer good for you bud we know everything Vick every day are you hiring Pat Shermer though maybe not who would be available who could you have promoted that’s what it comes down to you’re saying okay we’re looking internally here at our staff see who could move up you wouldn’t want munack calling plays would you like offensive coordinator yeah because so you’re looking at the 2019 staff here which by and large you’ve kept together so Mike schula is not on the staff for example the quarterback coach in 2020 um you’re I’m gonna guess the offensive coordinator becomes Zach aani okay TC McCartney’s your quarterback’s coach under rich gangell I think you’re saying okay maybe not quite ready just yet but Zak aani who of course is now with the Pittsburgh Steelers by the way um because he spent a year with the Jets he followed Nathaniel Hackett to New York and uh now he’s on the Steelers staff zakani gets his his shot as offensive coordinator he briefly had shance in college um now that being said he hasn’t worked for Kyle Shanahan and oh by the way you’ve got this Drew lock thing because very quietly Drew lock is developing yep Joe flacko is going into his 14th year maybe we got some offseason workout videos of Jefferson catching passes from Lock uhuh and it’s like oh my guy oh my LA’s just waiting to unleash him waiting to show you what else you got and Joe flacko going into gear 14 Broncos start that season let’s say hey we’ll start we’ll say they start the season like they did in the real version they’re three and out they’re feeling good they’re feeling their outs you know back-to-back playoff appearances Vic fangio is securing his job Joe flacko gets hurt Drew lock comes in he’s been marinating for two plus years watching learning the way Joe Flaco wants him to learn he’s been learning this offense he doesn’t have SKS but they’re running the offense he’s ready he’s chomping at the bit he’s been waiting and he looks good wow the time helped him get settled he fixed some bad habits fix some mechanics yes yes oh and the Broncos march to their third straight playoff appearance John Elway still the GM George Payton hasn’t come nope and Vic fangio is now I mean just oh I can do it with anybody you give me anybody I can do it by the way this is potentially not working out for George pton because he doesn’t come to Denver one of the things that happens the following years everything melts down in Minnesota Mike Zimmer fire fired um Rick Spielman fired they CL the Vikings clean house yeah George pyton gets cleaned out too wow wow yeah so now is the phenomenon like legit legit phenomenon Flo doesn’t get his job back yep Flaco’s kind of done and Drew lock is now contct not quite you trade Joe Flaco okay you trade him to you trade him to New Orleans where Shawn pyton just left how about that I was going to say where’s Kenny picket in this you trade him to the Steelers he goes back to the AFC North because he wound up in Cleveland how about this scenario winds up in Pittsburgh you know wow oh my this is fun this is spicy then Drew lock makes it with Justin Jefferson and Drew Lock’s in a contract Year by the way wow oh yeah he’s in a cont third year he’d been entering his fourth year year as the starter in a contract year oh my God are you doing the Jordan love thing yep you’re I’ve seen enough yeah but now you’re staring down the barrel of Over the Horizon you got to resign Justin Jefferson resigning Justin Jefferson becomes sort of the big thing what’s also happening on defense well you didn’t fall out of contention you didn’t trade Von Miller yes he didn’t trade vau wow V’s still around and JN always like Bronco for life good for you but because you know JN I mean that was his first pick never let V go he’s never letting Von go the Rams don’t win the Super Bowl woo wow all from Joe Flo being good Cincinnati Bengals over the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl the Rams don’t make the Super Bowl the 49ers with Jimmy Garoppolo do but they fall short against burrow and the Bengals Cincinnati gets its first world championship wow wow and Shawn McVey doesn’t get his wow so he retires McVey retires without wining all he’s got the burnout like dick verm man Sean mcve almost retired after they won with Stafford that was talk like okay so let’s do this because you know yeah like because and and you mention verm that that Rams collapse in 2022 was had some things in common with the Eagles over the two years collapsing after ver got in the Super Bowl that’s very that’s a very good PLL by the way yep yep so and I’m I’m stuck on the laway thing I apologize but think about this because you mentioned they gotta pay Justin Jefferson laway doesn’t want to because he’s he a gold baby everything he’s doing so he’s car dealer mode car dealer lway but here’s the other thing that’s happening the team gets sold yeah the the the stuff this the the bowl and family drama doesn’t go away okay so what’s the price if they’re a playoff team what’s the price is it five billion five billion do for the Denver Broncos five billion for a team that’s gone to the play three years in a row and here’s the Young quarterback you wouldn’t think of firing John Elway but you got you’re going into year four here CRA even though Drew lock is making progress and you’ve you’ve tied yourself to him you’ve given him the Jordan love deal okay right cracks are starting to emerge because players e there they they’ve been to the playoffs three times but they haven’t they I think we’re saying they haven’t gotten past the divisional round sure yeah so there’s a it’s a frustr there’s a there’s a frustration expiring after 2021 do you bring him back I mean based on what he got paid in Buffalo he’d still be getting paid I know he’d still be getting paid as remarkable as it and you’re talking about okay we just had to reup with Drew lock we just gave him a little bit more because he’s our quarterback next couple of years we’ve got the Justin Jefferson thing on the horizon we got Bradley chub on the horizon and but you had high Smith in this instance so high Smith would change the math uhhuh and you’re like we’re letting V walk ah V go V goes to Buffalo okay but he never becomes a ram and he never gets that second ring unless he eventually gets in in Buffalo but to this point Von Miller doesn’t have a second ring wow I’m also wrapping my arms around the whole thing of Mike Brown being the owner of a world champion this is another thing it’s a little odd Mike Brown wearing that uh that that cheap Farm hat like that’s one of my favorite visuals ever that I’ve ever seen in a big game when they would they would flash up to the the owner’s box and you know Mike Brown he’s rumed as ever he’s sitting there and he’s wearing a um God I think it was like the Clover Hill Farm just hat I mean I Broncos are one and five against Kansas City O and maybe I’ll throw another layer in uh yes there’s a playoff loss too so one and six yes Broncos went to Broncos went Arrowhead proba in Drew Lock’s first year as the starter 2021 Broncos went to Arrowhead and lost in the playoffs so before we wrap up this extended show we have to bring this up and this might extend us a little further but it’s thing the Broncos win the division and they because the Chiefs remember were only 11 and six this past year Broncos go down Broncos go 12 and five and they’re the number two seed okay so they have the same seed at so they play Miami in the first round and they win okay you know get him there in the second round um they’re playing they’re playing Buffalo but they’re playing him in Denver Von Miller comes back yeah but Broncos get the win Denver Broncos at Baltimore Ravens AFC Championship game and I’m sorry to say that this is where the road ends little too little too much Lamar but the Chiefs they’ve they’ve stumbled along the way elsewhere okay you know they maybe they they lost at some point or did they maybe it’s Chiefs at Broncos maybe the chief oh hang on frame wave re this is this is what happens when you get first drafts here okay okay Chiefs went at Baltimore Broncos don’t go to Baltimore the Chiefs come to Denver for the AFC Championship Game the Broncos win see I have them losing no the chiefs were down last year Broncos win the Broncos get over the hump Broncos so it’s demo Ryans and Kyle Shanahan in the Super Bowl with Drew lock at quarterback Drew lock Brock py Super Bowl wow ners win Niners win yep Niners win ners win the the ners win because as the game flows it doesn’t have those pivotal moments and you don’t have drew lock is a good quarterback but he’s not pick your poison in the way Mahomes is like you know the the the the moment that you like to refer to is that moment in overtime where literally the Niners had Match Point fourth down they stop him game over there’s never been a moment like that in the history of the Super Bowl right but it was so easy because all momes had to do was wait see the coverage and they vacated an area for him to take another thing yes uh Lovey Smith Houston Texans Doug Peterson Jaguars Josh McDaniels Raiders Mike McDaniel Dolphins Kevin oconnell Vikings Dennis Allen Saints Brian debal Giants Todd BS Tampa Bay BS was a promotion off of you know off of Bruce aran’s staff uh D ball connection to the GM with the Giants he still going there would Tang have taken oconnell spot he takes OK connell’s spot or he goes to Chicago because Chicago is trying to figure out Justin Fields now yeah they did hire a defensive coach but I think after sks’s work with Drew lock he says this is what I’ll do with Justin fields the other thing also SC in this universe skang becomes a actually figures things out yeah this may be kind of the roadblock here but that being said we go to Chicago he does pretty well with Justin Fields the head coach role is too much for him yes he’s he and he’s and he and he and the bear and I’ll say the Bears turn out much as they did to the point where they still make that trade with the Panthers they still end up with a number one overall pick this year but they’ve hired a new coach this time around to develop Caleb Williams so you have a firsttime head coach with Caleb Williams you have a line instead of this really goofy thing where you might be giving kale Williams a new coach in 2025 if it doesn’t work out which I really think is going to happen as my mic wow yeah it’s all falling apart oh my go would Rich garell have taken Joe flacker with him I hate to extend this already extended show but where I I had him going to New Orleans right I said that earlier but does he find his way right wandering around as flacko is currently doing from Cleveland to Indianapolis he finds his way back with gangs to help out with the young Justin Fields like he didn’t help out with like don’t get me wrong there were there were definitely pulls of the heart for Deo Ryan but the Broncos did not offer a good situation in terms of draft Capital like you and you inherited a quarterback that maybe you didn’t want in this case Deo Ryan one of the things he would have liked was coming into a team that has its full compliment of draft Capital has been to the playoffs more often than not and oh by the in recent years and oh by the way has a Young quarterback who’s running this offense so we’re not you know Slow’s coming in but they’re not installing a new offense it’s basically the same thing so it’s continuity you’re picking up where you left off yep there a lot a lot of things and then finally the paycheck would have been yeah Deo Ryan’s head coach Denver Broncos
