This is one of my students who has slowly transformed his golf swing over the past few months!
He was standing too tall and too close to the ball, his hands would get high in the backswing, and it was difficult for him to consistently slot the club properly in the downswing. This pattern usually has a two way miss, but in this case the bad shot was predominantly a big unplayable hook.
Each student is different. Ollie is an advanced player and the changes have mostly come through talking about feels and trying to hit different ballflights, specifically trying to develop a safety shot (slight hold-off fade).
This process has resulted in a slightly different stance, position at the top, and a more planar swing. The reason he is a more consistent ballstriker now is no doubt is increased ability to slot the club properly.

this was O A few months ago when he would stand a little bit too tall and too close to the ball he would then proceed to take his hands too high up into the back swing and you can see how the lead arm is deviating too much from the shoulder plane forcing him to rout the club too much to try and get it delivered from the inside leaving the club head behind his hands causing a dreaded two-way Miss but predominantly a left pull hook that would cost too many strokes in this game as you can see he’s bending more over from the wayist now and as the club goes back you can see the lead arm lining up perfectly with his shoulder plane and as the club comes down it finds the slot early and then Works around him to deliver a more stable path and face it’s also fantastic to see that he’s been able to apply this in tournament play as well [Music]
