in today’s video I’m going to be talking about Ben Hogan’s three keys for perfect ball striking and I’m going to show you my little drill to get three right hands at impact you’re watching the over-the-top miracle swing good morning miracle swingers I’ve got an awesome video for you today I’m going to be talking about the three keys that Ben Hogan had for great ball striking so first of all he said he wanted to start the down swing with the lower body that’s his first key hips go first and then it comes up through the shoulders arms and then the hands the second thing is supination okay so when we talk about supination we’re usually talking about the lead hand turning like this okay but the backand then goes like this so it’s my opinion that when he said he wanted three right hands that’s the reverse of superation okay so those two things are connected then the third thing is one unbroken thrust all the way to the Finish he actually told him in a different order in the fifth chapter of Five Lessons so where is it he says he must initiate the downswing by turning the hips to the left he must hit through to the finish of his swing in one cohesive movement that’s the one unbroken thrust I think of that as number three and number three he must superate his left wrist just before impact so those are the three keys that I’m using and in the today’s video I’m going to show you what I’m working on and how I’m creating those feels so I don’t want to have a lot of Swing thoughts but if I can change a thought which is a left brain activity into a feel which is a right brain activity then I think I can probably manage more things in my body without being locked up mentally so that’s what I’m up to I’m headed to the golf course today to teach an intensive I’ve got the weekend MSE experience I’ve got some great golfers coming out two of them are repeat people but this is going to be the last one it looks like I’m going to be super busy for the rest of the year which is really really great news for me and uh I just got back from Maran where I played a wonderful round of golf with Steve elkington and a couple of the members toin and Bob what a really really great experience and you know the adventure just continues I love you all I hope you enjoy this video and I hope you pick up the over-the-top miracle swing that’s the sum total of all my instruction that I’ve learned and taught through the years that’s made all my golfing dreams come true true so I wish you guys the very best hit them long and hit them straight it’s [Music] scary clock work yeah like I’m trying to mess one up on purpose and I can’t I didn’t understand what compressing the ball me now I understand this is what gold dreams are made of in reality all right so here I am out here hitting some 60 degree wedges and Ben Hogan always Started With His Highest lofted wedge and he wanted to get a certain feeling that was something that he worked really hard on was was trying to be able to feel that compression feel those solid strikes and he wouldn’t go to a longer club and had that ingrained in his swing and I think it’s really important I see too many golfers that jump ahead and they want to start hitting driver like immediately they want to hit it as far as possible um but it’s very important that we learn to sequence our body so I love the feeling of hitting these little solid shots in fact what I’m going for right here we can see is my line of compression my friend Steve elington calls this the Great Wall of China you want to hit that wall and then come through the shot so if you can find that nice solid compression you know that’s really the secret of golf you know I tell my students that solid is the secret of golf because without solid you can’t have distance control whether it’s a putt a chip or a pitching wedge like I’m hitting right here now you guys uh just to mention because the sky is so uh bright it’s really hard for my shot Tracer to to follow these things but here I am I’m working again see this little drill I’m working on actually suating and turning that right H hand over and down through the shot and that’s what’s going to give me that that low point control it’s going to give me a consistent Arc height so Arc height is important because we don’t want to dig a hole to China essentially you know I’ve got these nice divots that are shallow yeah I definitely want to take a divot I want to make sure my low point is 4 in in front of the ball so I’m going to do my drill again now I’m going to this time I’m going to do a club drag that gets that feeling in my right hand of getting pressure on the back of that shaft I’m kicking my right knee down like jod bosquez says running at the ball you know pushing down that right knee opens up my left hip and my left shoulder and if I get them all the work simultaneously Ben Hogan said that he wanted to begin the downswing from the ground up with the the hips shoulders arms and hands and then the second thing was he wanted to supinate that left hand down like I’m doing right here so I’m turning that left hand down in my right hand over and then the third thing is to let this s flow in one unbroken thrust all the way through the swing and if we can do those three things we’re probably going to have a pretty good shot so those are Ben Hogan’s three keys I I really highly recommend reading the fifth chapter of Ben Hogan’s Five Lessons that’s where he talks about distilling it down to just the few things that you you really have to have to master and it’s very easy to get mired in too many swing thoughts so I’m I’m working on that now I’m always trying to reduce the number of things I’m concentrating on the swing and then I want to get those swing thoughts turned into swing Fields so if I can feel it then I’m not in the left side of my brain thinking but I’m in my right side of my brain which is creative imag ination so that’s what I want to do um but you kind of have to go through the process you have to know what you’re doing you know it’s like if I hand you a violin you have to understand where to place your fingers you know but here I am just trying to work on smooth Rhythm and Tempo I want to hit my Great Wall of China with this driver that’s something I’ve been really working on lately is that line of compression with my driver and if I can think of my SW three swing Keys then uh then I’m usually pretty good just let the the legs start the down swing like Hogan said allow my hands to go with the club which wants to turn over and just have one smooth unbroken thrust I saw Christo talking about the over-the-top swing at about the same time I was looking at Old swings of Bobby Jones and and Sam’s me and both of them take it way inside and loop it over Bob what’s your lowest round of golf so far shot of 69 all right I’m Christo Garcia and you probably caught me on the Golf Channel swinging as Ben Hogan my entire program is discounted for this introductory offer so take advantage of this opportunity right now

  1. Hi Christo. Keep exploring your miracle swing. And by all means boil it down to one swing thought.

Ben Hogan secret was that he started his downswing with the fast twitch muscle of his lead hip. These muscles send the lead hip in the way it must turn

Ben probably heard this originally from Bobby Jones, directly or watch Jones’ videos.

    Believe me it works!

And the correct centrifugal force applied to the momentum of your club head will deal with your hands and wrist action allowing you to compress your ball automatically and without any conscious effort on your part. Cheers 🥂😊👍
