what’s up everybody welcome back to another pitchy Ninja’s filthiest pitches of the day I am pitchy ninja and you’re stuck with me again today no co-host but I don’t need a co-host I’m awesome the way I am all right maybe not I just made that up I’m going to start out with Matt Waldron’s knuckle balls yesterday because they were dancing I know his line wasn’t all that great he only had 3ks and four and the third Innings giving up three earned runs but these knuckle balls were all over the place here’s a home plate view of one that was uncatchable and I just love watching higashioka work back there this was my favorite because he frames this knuckle ball perfectly even though he didn’t catch it look at this thing I put a tail on it you can see it run off to the side absolutely Elite framing maybe not Elite catching of the ball but whatever that’s overrated I also love this where Alex Kora shows Matt Waldren the Tim wake field patch on his jersey and makes a heart gesture that’s because Matt walren learned his knuckle ball from Tim Wakefield over Zoom how Cool’s that now to the rest of the whip around the league I’m not going to touch on every game I’m just going to touch on the really well- pitched games or at least the ones that jumped out to me just because I have to edit all this stuff now with will and his new baby so I’m gonna make this a little bit shorter to start out with Garrett Cole who had six ks in five innings giving up one run I thought he looked really sharp as opposed to his last outing he had these fast balls picked up a sword and this curveball cutter and wicked slider and after the game it was clear that cole really liked the way he pitched I thought it was a good blend of stuff in command and um pitched pretty smart for the most part um you know so it was a good day Taj Bradley was freaking outstanding yesterday with 11 strikeouts and five and two3 scoreless innings he had these fast ball Splitters and Cutters he had 20 wh for the game 10 on his fast ball six on his splitter and four on his cutter opponents are only hitting 152 against his splitter and 192 against this cutter and both of those pitches have over a 30% whiff rate here’s an overlay of Bradley’s fast ball and splitter and you can see how well these things work together he had that fast ball at the bottom of the zone and throws a splitter off of that to get the swing and miss it looks like a heater coming in but ends up in the dirt and I want everybody to start putting some respect on taj Bradley’s name he is a really good young pitcher he’s only going to be getting better Freddy Peralta had eight K in seven Innings given up one run he had these fast balls picked up a sword he had these sliders including this knee buckling slider look at that as well as his change up Seth Lugo had 10ks and six scoreless Innings giving up only four hits his ER right now is a major league leading 2.17 he had these change ups slvs and I thought his curve balls were absolutely ridiculous yesterday had this one up to 353 RPMs and that’s not counting roio’s spin which probably added more to it as he spins around after that swing opponents are only hitting 131 against lugo’s curveball with a 37% whiff rate and he averages 3325 RPMs on his curveball almost 200 RPMs more than the next highest starter is Seth Lugo an Allstar he’s got to be right he leads ml in ra and in winds but he’s still only six in the a sa young race at plus 2,000 behind schoolo Burns crochet Gilbert and Hal speaking of garri crochet crochet had 11 ks in seven Innings giving up two runs and he had no walks great command from a guy who just shoves his ER right now is 3.02 and he leads MLB in strikeouts with 141 look at these angry fast balls and angry Cutters dude it’s impossible to hit absolutely filthy stuff from crochet and I still think he’s a little bit underrated because he plays for the white socks in a solid pitcher stel hunter green took on Lance Lynn green had sixks in four and twoth thirds Innings given up one run he had these sliders and picked up a sword as well as his heaters he faced Lance Lynn who had six KS and six scoreless Innings giv up only two hits Lynn had this fast ball and cutter to make up his 999th K and 1,000k as a cardinal and of course he had to give a celebratory crotch grab or at least I’m assuming he did Casey Mees only had two strikeouts but pitched five and a third scoreless Innings and I just thought it was notable that his fast ball topped out at 98.3 miles an hour Joe Ryan had two k in five and a third scoreless Innings giving up only one earn run had these fast balls sweepers and Splitters but of course one of these case kind of cheap Luis Castillo had a hit here because Garver got injured so they lost their da and Castillo proved that pitchers are athletes once and for all by taking all three pitches right down the dick Brandon fought had eight KS in six Innings giving up one run he had these fast balls curve balls change up sweeper and he and I thought he looked really good fought can be kind of up and down but this was the upswing of Brandon fought he faced Luis Medina who had five ks in six Innings given up one run and had these fast balls and Sliders and lastly Andrew Heeney had 10ks in seven innings giving up two runs on five hits he had these fast balls change up sliders and here’s some home plate views of his pitches you can kind of see how deceptive he can be because he’s almost throwing the ball uphill now one of my filthiest relievers Jeff Hoffman had this slider Gregory stto had these Slaughters Yuan donon had this 97 mph spinker that thing is disgusting and Ryan Thompson had this frisbee slider that got a swing and Miss way out of the Zone from Rooker now I know some people were asking asking why are you swinging at this pitch way out of the Zone well Thompson Sinker runs back to the plate pretty heavily here’s one that ran back to the plate 16 inches and I overlaid it with that slider and you can kind of see what Rooker was swinging at he thought it was a sinker instead got a slider and end up looking like he didn’t know how to hit that’s what happens when you have to guess my top five filthiest pitches of the day yesterday at number five I have Garrett Cole’s slider at number four Taj Bradley and that splitter fast ball overlay at number three garri crochets angry Cutters and fast balls at number two Seth Lugo and his 353 RPM curveball and at number one I’m gonna go at Ryan Hesley and his curveball and slider I mean how do you hit this and also have to face his 102 mph fast ball good luck he has a 50.3% whiff rate on his slider and a 55.6 whiff rate on his curveball it’s all set up because you have to respect 102 mph fastball also I love this Meetup with Paul skin Charlie Morton and Chris S before the game it’s awesome to see Morton and S pay it forward to Paul SK and SK showing respect to those two guys after all Morton was drafted a week before Paul skin was born how about that and now my pitchy ninja Moment of Zen Aaron Shunk got called up by the Rockies yesterday and I know Aaron since he was nine years old my son played wreck ball with him and to celebrate his dad drew his debut sitting behind home plate how cool is that my picks of the day today are a three-leg parlay I’m going to start out with a same game parlay of David Peterson for 4ks or more and McKenzie Gore for 6ks or more and then I’m going to top it off with Hunter Brown for 5Ks or more what would your picks of the day be

Just wait until it stops rolling, then you pick it up
Had to be emotional for Waldron yesterday, didn’t realise he was in touch with Wakefield about the knuckleball and baseball life I’m sure. First pitch Knuckle ❤️ respect #49

I still love you ninja, even when you deprive us of A-Lo's presence … And Will's too, of course, of course
Why lots of baseball players have Arabic names : Ahmed , Amir ,Tajj , Tarik , omer , Ali , Younis , Sami , Farid …etc
Reynaldo Lopez has a lower ERA
Solo Ninja is a dawg like Bassitt
RIP Tim Wakefield
Ninja holding down the fort as only he could. 🫡
I’ll be back later this week
i’ve got Crochet and Lugo on my fantasy team thanks to you ninja
My box score says Joe Ryan had 10Ks, 2 ER, and 5.2 innings?
Love the vids Ninja
Ninja, what do you think Crochet's ERA would be closer to if he had an average or slightly above average defense behind him?
Greene was good, but any pitcher going up against Nolan Gorman right now is gonna rack up a smooth four if they stay in long enough.
Where is Spencer bivens?
Just watched a bunch of chase burns. Love the dudes stuff and intense energy is awesome. Needs an interview
how is Lugo leading the MLB in ERA when Reynaldo Lopez's is still under 2 at a clean 1.70 🤔
Was hoping to see undrafted 30 year old rookie Spencer Bivins struck out Shohei Ohtani twice.
If crochet had to pitch with a full length cast on his front leg, he’d be fine.
You have to figure the Rays will be trading Taj Bradley in the not so distant future.
Seems like every time they get a good pitcher, he is traded.
That movement is insane 0:35
