Bryson DeChambeau spoke to the media after winning the 2024 US Open, where he was asked about the struggles of runner-up Rory McIlroy down the stretch.

Rory is one of the best to ever play and being able to fight against a a great like that is pretty special for him to miss that putt i’ never wished on anybody um it just happened to play out that way and he he’ll win he’ll win multiple more major championships there’s no doubt and I think that fire in him is is going to continue to grow um and I have nothing but respect for how he plays the game of golf because to be honest when he was when he was climbing up the leaderboard and he was to ahead I was like uh oh uh oh um but luckily things might went my way today

  1. Absolutely a class act Bryson & showing support for a rival at his worst time speaks to Bryson’s true character

  2. Nicely said Bryson, Now address the behaviour of fans cheering U.S.A. at Rory's miss. Disgusting people who should stick to ruining kids sports and stay away from adult events.

  3. I don’t feel bad for Rory’s struggles—he lost. You need a new prospective on life, if you think placing second in the US Open, constitutes a bad day.

  4. PGAT will send "health check" for Rory ….but LIV players have there teammates to work things out…seems like a better option.

  5. It was bad luck for Rory missing those puts, but earlier in the round he drained a few long range puts against the odds to get him into that position in the first place. Didn't enjoy Rory constantly acting more American than an American by badmouthing LIV. Golf is an international sport, and doesn't belong to the PGA

  6. For all of us, fans of golf and sports in general, the U.S. Open on Sunday, heading into the back nine and what transpired, was truly a fantastic show of talent and greatness.

  7. Really wish 98% of the pga golfers had an ounce of his personality and acted thankful for playing golf for a living!!!

  8. Rory is going through a divorce, which for anyone in any circumstance is gut-wrenching. To nearly win the Open, having just begun that process, is amazing. But yeah, he could have been classier about it. As for Bryson? He’s been winning folks over for awhile now, and has improved his game. Fantastic player now.

  9. Royster gave it away, he was playing his best golf, and should have won by 2 and easily 3 shots, but 3 bogues in the final 4, makes him what we have always known him to be; just a talented choke.

  10. Bryson is making a big deal of the bunker shot, but for a pro I believe it was pretty simple. Bryson actually said he couldn't make that shot in more than 4 of 100 trys. I mean, Bryson has really overplayed elements of the win. Rory gave it away; at minimum it should have been a playoff, but Rory fizzled to finish.

  11. I used to like Rory but he is an A grade gold medal winning world class A hole. He gave heaps of people a bunch of crap and was outright rude as you could be to some players because they took money from LIV golf. He is worth 200 million and gives other players crap jumping at the big money offers on LIV.

  12. Golf has always been about sportsmanship, would have been nice for Rory to have been there to congratulate Bryson. Bryson went to LIV and has become a better person.
He's a classy, down to earth guy. Wish more players were like that. Rickie Fowler & Matt Kuchar are tops in the class act category, too.

  13. Struggle? Really? Who else in the world has finished in that position? Rory didn’t struggle. Bryson simply played better . . . Happens at every pro tournament.

  14. It was a good battle. They both deserved it on a very hard course.

I think he is right. Rory will win again for sure.
