you may know this man as a Super Bowl MVP but the roots of San Antonio Holmes Run deep in the muck out in Bel Glades this week Holmes held his fourth annual Golf and steam camp for local elementary school kids the camp was presented by holes’ Foundation 10 Allin in partnership with PGA of America professionals from the south Florida PGA foundation and Engineers from Pratt and Whitney the mornings included golf activities and instruction followed by science technology engineering art and math lessons the first three days were held at Tory Island Campground in Holmes’s hometown of belglade on Thursday the group took a field trip to the Park Golf Course in West Palm Beach to hear career testimonies from golf professionals and Industry managers the final day saw the kids present their Art and Science work from the week and wrapped up with a little Scramble with Holmes and the other teachers at belglade Municipal Golf Course a course that was originally built through homes is funding 10 Allin is dedicated to changing lives through the game of golf and over the past four years it has introduced the game to more than 60 kids in the bellglade area and you may have noticed the interesting title Golf and steam That’s holmes’ Unique spin on stem classes by adding in the category of art to better reflect 10 allin’s mission to also teaching mental health education though Holmes made his living by catching touchdowns he has used the game of of golf to learn about life and explore the world and now he wants to give the same opportunity and life lessons to the Next Generation it’s taught me a lot about patience it’s taught me a lot about respect and eacy about the game and it’s taken me so many places around the world that I would love to introduce this sport to so many new kids that can get an opportunity to play this game but also travel the world get a chance to meet so many new people but they get to also learn the life lessons that they get to create for themselves and everything that happens on the golf course typically happens in life and every golfer can attest to that that they have taken these life lessons on the golf course and have applied them to their everyday life and this is what we would like to do by using stem education the game of golf but also approaching it in a mental health way
