MY NEW Clubs!! – we all want new golf clubs but can my new clubs help me score better out in the golf course and help me enjoy my golf that little bit more!!
this year so far I have changed a lot of golf clubs in my bag but today we’re at the Fantastic Whit me golf club as the rain comes down as always we’ve set out to come here at 5:30 in the morning because the forecast look fantastic but we’re going to be playing nine holes here and seeing what I can score with these new clubs if you’ve got new clubs in your golf bag if you’ve bought new clubs or if you’re waiting for your new clubs you know that you want to get out here and put those to the test and the first Club in the bag that is new for me is my new driver so you will have seen it on the channel if you have been watching I have gone for the tailor made qi1 LS I’ve got this set at 10 A2 deg so not only is it a new driver but that is a new setting for me but I’ve gone a little bit retro with the graphalloy blue extra stiff shaft so a different shaft a different makeup in the driver to last year but I’ve been hitting this exceptionally well I’ve really enjoyed it I’ve never had a tailor made Golf Club in my bag so so far it’s been hitting good drives and drives just like that first swing of the day just down the left hand side a nice penetrating ball flight which is one of the big things and the reasons why I went for this yes it is 10 1/2 degre I can get a little bit more launch when I need to but like that I can still get a good ball flight when required now as it has been a very long time since I’ve changed as many clubs I have this season so we do have a new driver in there and we do have a new set of irons couple other new clubs in there which we will get to in this video but obviously have you changed your golf clubs and if you have what have you gone for this year have you gone for a fitting and got the latest and greatest or have you been fitted for maybe last year’s models or a year before have you gone second hand have you gone somewhere like golf clubs for cash who again have sent us some clubs to try on this channel over the last couple of months really obviously we know that gol’s getting more and more expensive and is that going to help you are you benefiting from those 600 drivers are you benefiting from those ,600 sets of clubs or are you better off investing that money in lessons that’s what we want to see today I’ve got pretty much some of the latest clubs on there certainly not the cheapest are they going to help me shoot under par today here at Whit big golf club which looks in fantastic condition to say the weather we’ve got so we can see how good this driver is because I’ve just got down here and we can see it’s even managed to get over that little Bridge again there was a ditch here that I forgot about even though we’ve done the flyover that you have seen but you can see from the white te’s there that’s gone around about 280 290 yards wasn’t a perfect strike but it’s managed to get pretty close to the green that’s something that I found with this driver although it’s the ls version I have seen plenty of forgiveness and that’s what we want from a driver that’s what’s given me the confidence to be able to okay first sng of the day no practice sng straight in there I’ve got one out there at 280 even with a m strike so obviously that’s exactly what I want from my current driver that’s going to be in my bag to help me probably better this year shoot lower scores more importantly beat that gentleman over there so guys the club that I’ve now got in my hands is a club I’ve had in my bag for a couple of months now but it’s not the cheap it’s something that you need to make a specialist order it is a Voki but the reason I’ve got this is because of something that is on this golf club and if you watch the channel you will have seen videos with this it’s also a loft that I’ve not normally had in the bag don’t feel I can chip it inside of James’s just stopped on that slope again there an interesting flight because this is a 60° and it’s not just any 60° here we do have the flight lines on here so like I said this is a specialist order wedge that you can get from the wedge works at V and this is to help you get into the right setup to get the correct flight they not the best Chip Shot I’ve ever had there and obviously by all means we now buying new clubes isn’t going to drastically improve every single shot we’re still going to hit some bad shots that wasn’t my best but another new club here in the Potter and interesting over the years the best putting I’ve had has been with a number seven Odyssey as you can see this one is not a standard one has it gone too far that was the title of the video I did with this putter there’s a lot of things about this that take boxes for me to put well an easy par and as you’ll see by the head cover not a new club here on the second hole so the second hole as you see by the flyover is a par five 400 50 yards road on the left which is James Robinson’s biggest fear on these kind of holes Clubhouse on the right and I’m not going driver this is a club that I’ve had in my bik since last year this is the club that I’ve really enjoyed playing with so it’s something that I’ve Got Confidence with so far this year I haven’t done much testing with Fairway Woods I’d have tried the Cobra dark speed LS3 wood it goes an absolute country mile this is a club that I’ve been confident with in my bik something that’s going to help me find a fairway not the bit not the best swing there a little bit of a slip but you can see by the Tracer there pretty much up the center strip and I should still be able to nearly get there in too this is a hole where you just want to get off the te get into play which I’m thinking about a little bit more certainly now I’m trying to score okay so as it still absolutely throws it down position a here so in the Fairway can we get there I don’t think so it’s going to be a layup here so I’m going to look at getting one of my new irons out and if you haven’t been watching the channel I first tested these out in Grand Canary and I have gone for the Wilson Staff CB and MB combo so again sticking to a combo set before I was using the Tacomo 301 CB and MBS but for me here they just looked a little bit sleeker behind the golfball I certainly enjoyed them when I was testing them but this is a 4 iron that’s exactly why I’ve gone for CB in the for rine extremely easy to strike there a nice penetrating ball fight good interaction with the turf and just all around easy to hit right we’re now into those and how good do those look the MB Wilson Staff models again fantastic looking cles and like I say here yes they’re not maybe designed to make golf easier but down behind the golf ball blade length looks good they do look inviting the top EDG is not as thin as you would expect they certainly don’t look like the Ping blueprint irons and for me they just seem to feel fantastic is that up there and again looks a bit pin high and that’s something I’ve certainly found with these changing into these irons there hasn’t been a drop off with exactly with my distance control I’ve not started to get them going a lot shorter even though I’ve gone into an mbon for me control ball fight there controlled spin as you can see with a forecast I believe James is putting on there it is rain rain and rain as you can see guys it wasn’t for that’s changed in last five minutes all I can say is don’t forget your water if you prepare to if you what you can’t say it you can’t even say it fail to prepare prepare to fail there we go that’s the saying I was looking for don’t forget your waterproofs and don’t listen to the UK weather 90% chance of rain now you can see that I am absolutely drenched we haven’t brought a Broly between us we haven’t brought waterproofs when we set off at 4:30 this morning the weather was fantastic in R 2 hours away although it does look great over there but forecast is not looking good but guys obviously what clubs have you gone for and why have you changed all people think straight away with CBS and MBS they designed at the better player but it all depends on what you’re trying to get from your your swing really are you somebody who could have these you’ve got the club Edge speed you might go all CBS cuz you’re still going to get that forgiveness from that perimeter waiting or do you just want to have those clubs that look fantastic like the MBS do again I might get the mb4 right out and do a comparison video in the longest stuff in weeks to come we’re going to do one more hole here guys see how the weather is but so far we’ve got a bir puts on the second hole and all of these clubs in my bag making it a little bit easier this year so pin High guys and obviously as you can see behind me we might have a bit of sunshine coming fingers crossed but distance control good here setting up again a chance here not the longest par fivs couldn’t really hit driver five Woods got me in play so do you have any clubs in your bag that you’ve kept in and you won’t be replacing that’s the same as my Fairway w at the moment again fantastic greens here Whitby first time we’ve ever played here so let’s tap that in and let’s get on to the next because we also have a new golf ball so third hole here we have a par for at 339 yards and you can see by the flyover goes towards the road that goes into Sans end which is where I was visiting last week again fantastic haul here before a fantastic par three coming back on itself so driver’s back out here I’m that confident with the driver at the minute I have left my bike halfway up the Fairway luckily I knew that there was another hole to the right so let’s the rain seems to have stopped for now let’s get this one down there and again just very easy straight over that marker a little bit of fade following around the hole again wet grips here wet glove but just gives me confidence that I can go at this drive I can swing it easy if I need to get the ball in play that was a centered strike and that shouldn’t leave me far in you can see down here that is another Fairway hit so that’s something that I found I have been hitting more Fairways and again even if it’s getting me closer to the hole that’s fantastic so I’m hitting something shorter in I should get closer but even when I’ve missed up one and I’ve still got a longer shot in I am finding the Fairway and from the Fairway you’re likely to get a better strike and if I get a better strike I’m obviously going to hit a few more greens and that’s what we want to see this year but this is what I’ve left myself a nice short shot in with a flighted wedge we’ve got the rad behind again James Robin some would be in fear and little bit left put distance wise again there left side of the green maybe just On The Fringe Direction was me but distance looks good even into a little bit of Breeze there I’ve managed to get that distance get that control it’s looking up for this season now again there we can see we have just caught the edge of the green and just short of pin High I’d say that’s around about 25 ft away which is only just outside of tour average is certainly making it a little bit easier for me again why have I gone for this putter lot of technology in this putter but one big thing is that line on top which does help me aim from the start and get my puts online again the Versa technology in here is to help you again square that club face up so it’s not just because obviously it’s blue and white for example one big thing is I did get fitted into one of these so we did go to the Callaway launch for the AI Putters and I did get fitted for number seven it had the M face again I preferred the face of this white hot when I went to test it it’s a putter or a face that I’ve used for a long time whil it’s been playing golf and it just gets me rolling it nice and easy a great roll there Pace control is good so it’s getting a putter that gives you the confidence to get that paid and this is a big thing for me when you’re buying this club in your bag this year if it’s just the putter that you are replacing then make sure you spend the money on getting the right one cuz this is the club that we use the most in the bag if you’ve used a white hot face maybe even stay with that but get something that aims you better and helps you with your distance control cuz I believe if most golfers could improve the distance control it’d save putts so guys three holes in here at wh bolf club and a massive thanks for them for getting us out here exceptionally early this morning we did set off at 5:30 we did get here at 7:30 we was slightly delayed by the rain but a good start they’re making it very easy the clubs I’ve got in my bag this year I believe that I’ve got a good spread throughout the bag from wedges up to the driver I really think I’ve picked all the boxes but there’s a few other things that I’ve added in here which we haven’t gone through yet that could really help your game and that’ll be on later this week

Lessons! I’m happy with my bag!
I got a set of Mizuno 245s late last year, but then hit the Wilson staffs a week ago. The Wilsons are amazing. I couldn't hit a bad shot. Had to buy them. The ball flight is perfect. Even with stock shafts. Great choice
This is so funny….watching your channel vs James’ is like listening to Jazz vs heavy metal, or like watching the football game where the announcer just fill in commentary rather then telling you all about the game, the players and their WAGS! Of course we love you both!!!
Best acquisition of the year would be an anorak 😂. Nice bag of clubs though.
$630.00 driver! Wow …
I'll be moving along now … cheers.
My experience is that new sticks improve my game for about 3 months and then I regress to the mean. Kinda expensive to maintain.
Did ypu do any homework concerning Whitby Golf Club with reference to the Head Greenkeeper ,he is Pete Fenton Who was the Brabazon English Champion You Could have got a great lnterview!!!
Had a few new clubs for this season (2nd hand, so new to me). The only thing I've kept are my es21 and t20 wedges. But I found a set of Bridgestone J36 blades which I adore and finally decided on a change at the top end of the bag. Swapped out a bit too spinny 0211 PXG driver for the original Sim Driver with an x-stiff shaft. Also this past week I said goodbye to my 25 year old Adams Tight Lies 2, 2 wood for an M5 2 wood (14 degree).
Also had a recent round at Prestatyn in January and ended up buying a random Lynx Predator putter, as I wanted something with ultra forgiveness (putting being my weakness). Helped me immensely
Changed to a Cavell X Golf ball from amazon, 4 piece urethane with unreal durability and performance for £23.99. Might be worth a review from you guys Chris
Retired 68 and just built my entire bag from second hand because of price. Just finished getting it together after being away from golf for 10 years due to injuries. Today will be the first round with the full bag. Callaway sub zero Rouge driver, Callaway epic flash 3/5 fairway, 4-GW Adams xtd tour a X100 shafts, Cleveland rtx wedges and a ping anser putter. I've been playing the irons for a few months and love them. Used to play Mizuno mp 62 but no chance I could play those now. £400. I'm just as excited now as trying out new clubs
It will be awhile before I buy new clubs, used clubs at Roger Dunn or eBay…..
Odyssey #7 is a great putter. Love the weight and feel with the OG insert. Not a fan of jailbreak pattern though. Love the looks of the Wilson irons. I'm in the Mizuno Pro 223 irons this year bought second hand. Takomo 201 is my backup set I use to play around with different shafts from time to time. Sim 2 max driver and PXG woods stay in the bag. Experimenting with Edison wedges. I think those will replace the Skyforger sand wedge that I've worn quite a bit.
I’m the poster boy for not being able to buy a good golf game. I got the new Qi10 Max driver, I have a Ping G430 fairway wood and two hybrids, G430 irons, SM10s in 50, 54, and 58, and a Phantom X12 putter, and I suck lol. I’ve considered going into prettier irons, but my strike location is just not very consistent.
I will say that the Qi10 Max has been a really straight driver for me. It’s definitely given me a lot more confidence when I have hazards on the right.
I’m looking for something to fit between my driver and 7 wood. Still not sure what that club will be. Looking for something I can hit consistently off the tee & fairway. I’m not good enough with a 3 wood from the fairway. Maybe a 5 wood or maybe the Cleveland 3+ hy-wood. 🤷♂️
60 degree chris!!!!!!! What is this world coming to 😂😂😂💪
Fitted by the brilliant company in Chesterfield (also Edinburgh & Amsterdam). SGGT. Fitted with Prov 1 or X, in a studio, out Ono a private range. Srixon ZX4 with KBS Graphite shafts. Expensive but they have nearly replaced the 20% loss in swing speed after serious illness and ops. Then fitted with Titleist TSr2 driver and 5 wood. Again expensive but I haven’t wasted money buying untried off the shelf or internet. There’s nothing worse than struggling with clubs which are unsuitable.
Love this course, play it loads. Been playing it for near 10 years now.
I am wondering if a customized lab putter is going to be worth it.
I currently use a scotty cameron kombi s
My other clubs are
M5 tour driver, stealth plus 3 wood,rad speed 5 wood,speedzone 7 wood, speedzone 9 wood
P790 black irons 6-pw, titleist sm7 50,54,58 wedges, I don't see me replacing anything for years except maybe putter.
Wilson hit a home run with those irons. Very nice. I have Apex Pro (5-9) Apex MB (PW, GW) irons. Had heavier weights put into the head since I do like a midsize grip and I wanted a heavier swing weight.
I have an older set bought them three years ago off eBay practiced with them at the range but never took them out on a regular basis, just started playing them. The Ben Hogan Apex Edge irons, stiff, RH 2003. They were in excellent condition. Thanks
New G430 5 and 7 woods. HL
Going for lessons on the full swing. Chipping and putting on point.
I just changed from Faldo era Mizuno Pro MS211 to Honma LB 280. I got them from Facebook market place. Hardly hit basically new 3i-SW for AUD100. Just as nice as my Mizuno's just fresher grooves.
