[Music] welcome to the early wedge presented by bmgm I am your host Eric Cohen otherwise known as EC it was a rough week for me on this program last week I not sure I got any picks right it was it was a tough one but that’s what happens when Patrick McDonald is not with us so guess what he’s back and the crew is back together and we’re gonna bring this show see I know you can carry the the load with your picks I got to contribute something we know Patrick’s always going to chip in winners so we got Patrick McDonald from CBS sports.com he is the golf genius we have the golf betting genius one C aot host of the early Edge Monday through Friday at 10: amm Eastern I I mean I think that’s pretty accurate and you got me who’s over for whatever last week so here we are Patrick welcome back uh we missed you uh the they’re going up to Canada this week do you like this tournament first of all and do you like Canadian players because they’re playing Cana thanks for the welcome back EC I really appreciate it and if makes you feel any better I too did not get any picks correct on the show last week also so that’s two of us uh see you that color is great on you is that a light pink we’re working with like a very is a light pink thanks it looks great on you uh as for the Canadian open I love it I think it’s one of my favorite full field events of the year to tell you it’s just been climbing and climbing and climbing over this decade it seems like and uh I’m really excited for the guys to tackle Hamilton so seea last week uh not not my best week I’m sure you you performed better than I did as far as picks went going up north this week are you playing the Canadian bias we saw Nick Taylor win it last year on the most dramatic moment of the 20123 PGA Tour season I’m feeling like all right it’s their home country this is their one chance they’re gonna do it what you with me or no I’m not really with you I’m not backing any uh Canadians like in the outright market for example I’m not really even playing I’m trying to think if I’m playing any in DFS not that I finalized my player pool I will say this we know I was Eric we know I was at least one pick better than you because I got that beautiful venmo from you thanks to sep straa who by the way was an outright for me and if he putted like anywhere close to normal he might have actually been in the conversation on Sunday so I did just just to let the record reflect I had three matchups that I put out on the show all three of them hit however I only hit two out of five the top 40 plays now all of them were plus money including the CT pan plus 165 so we didn’t lose much there but you know didn’t hit an outright didn’t hit a first round leader but you know better better than what we’re better than the theme we’re trotting out right now well the theme is me losing to you yet again because I don’t think I’ve ever beaten you in a showdown I was looking at my venmo and I was like oh this is not good like you know I’ve gotten Patrick maybe once or twice but still I’m down to him but to you I think it’s like 0 for four lifetime which is not good at least the way that I’ve kept scores but you know what this week we’re bouncing back I’m just not taking either of you on in a showdown let’s get to the storylines this week and see you’re just interesting in terms of what type of player will succeed up at Hamilton Golf and Country Club so when I first did my research for this tournament I was really thinking this is going to be a plotter course a tactician course get it in the Fairway you know you don’t have to be long off the tea we know this is a short course as it is and then like just really be dialed in with your approach play and because those the greens are relatively small maybe take a look at around the green play and putting of course as well but then the more I the more I looked at it the more I realized that bombers might be in play too so I’m just really curious like if we go back to 2019 the last time this was played at Hamilton obviously Roy ran away away with it and he is that bomber variety but everyone behind him was well I should say that the majority in the top 10 behind him were th those those tacticians those shorter hitters that just plotted through the course now of course has undergone some Renovations it’s a little bit longer none nonetheless I think we’re going to see a top 10 leaderboard that’s going to have both I don’t I’m not saying it’s equal parts five and five you know we could talk about top 20 top 40 all of that I think we’re going to see bombers succeed here and I think we’re going to see tacticians shorter hitters plotters succeed here as well I’m just really curious to see Sunday when it’s all said and done you know what’s the makeup not just of the winner but of the top 10 Patrick last week with you not here I tried to make a play in honor of you which was one Michael block making the cut at plus four something and that did not go well though I had a sliver of a hope heading into uh heading into Friday that that did not go well unfortunately unlike last year Michael block is not in the field of the RBC Canadian open but you know who is one Rory mroy yeah not not quite the uh same name power right it doesn’t really carry the same uh Rory marroy as it does to one Michael block but he’s going for his third Canadian open title third title of the Season Rory macroy has an inkling an in in Infinity for these National opens you you name a country Rory maroy has won that National open to tell you the truth Irish Scottish the open US Open Canadian open and he he really takes these to heart he he finds them to be the most important tournaments and like ca said he ran away with it uh Sunday 61 back in 2019 easily could have been sub 60 that day missed a few easy ones to tell you the truth coming in so I’m really interested to see if he kind of runs away with with this one he’s by far the best player in this field he’s playing some Stellar Golf and we’re in that postmasters maroy era right now where he’s got Augusta National behind him and he’s running downhill and uh it’ll be interesting to see if he does so this week as well so obviously Rory is a is going to be a popular play but at that number of around four to one maybe even south of that that is tough to bet in my opinion I tried that with Scotty Sheffer last week that’s probably the last time i’ ever going to bet somebody that’s under 5 to one in a tournament but no I’m not putting that on my do not bet list we we’ll get to that later but one guy who is on my do not bet list I think is betable this week that’s one Tommy Fleetwood you know why because the tournament is not in America and when the tournaments are not in America I have stats for you later on because you’ll see Tommy Fleetwood on a few of our cards just looking ahead in the cheat sheet but when it’s not in the United States I’m actually fairly confident in picking Tommy Fleetwood to win so we may have to amend the do not bet list but if you’re ever going to bet him this has to be the week Patrick you’re smiling I you got to think Tommy this week up in Canada should have won last year why not you see you see it’s because I was on Tommy Fleetwood last year in this tournament minus 450 on the T on the 72nd hole just needing to make Birdie on the easiest to in the golf course you hit an iron off the te you hit an iron into the par five Tommy Fleetwood doesn’t do that so that is why I am not personally going to bet Tommy Fleetwood this week spoiler but by all means did you bet Scotty sheffler last week I did I I put two and a half units on SC big boy big boy I this was a this was a lesson I mean when you’re gonna go bad you might as well go bad my man yeah I mean if I you I don’t have much left in the wallet this week lost TOA lost on Scotty shuffler but we bounce back I’m going to follow your picks both of your picks and you’re going to get me to the promised land seea do you like Tommy Fleetwood without spoiling anything are you Pro Tommy Fleetwood or anti Fleetwood this week it’s interesting I’m kind of we’ll talk about him later in the show I’m Pro Tommy Fleetwood and the reason is before I even did my research and I just kind of like got a glimpse for what what I think you should expect from a player who wins this tournament which I’ve kind of gone back and forth on admittedly Tommy Fleetwood was the first name that came to mind now we can talk about like the research I did and where he has weaknesses aside from just closing like just take the name out of it um there there are some weaknesses but usually when I have just a gut feeling like that I I I can’t not go with it I mean I’ve got a couple I’ve only got a few outrights um and spoiler alert we’ll talk about them in a different context as well but Tommy Fleetwood is in fact one of them all right let’s move on to DFS picks and I do I even need to show the graphic because we already know who’s going to be in Patrick’s list we see what happens when I try to include Grayson Sig last week what happens I think he missed the cut right all right Patrick I mean we’ll start with you here why 6,800 why so if you take out the miscut from last week when he was cursed obviously three top 15s in his last four starts that’s why we’re going with Grayson Sig at 6800 Chandler Phillips 5900 so you mentioned is this going to be a a technician is this going to be a bombers you look at where Chandler Phillips has kind of thrived T12 last week at Colonial was in contention there at Valar a couple courses you had to plot your way around if it does lean that way I think he has a really good chance to kind of hover around that top 10 Mark again the iron play was really good and then speaking of good iron play Robbie Shelton finally found something with the approach play at 5700 t26 there in Myrtle Beach top 10 last week as well so let’s ride the hot hand with the Alabama Alum maybe you get some good Juju from Davis Riley there and then I’m going to fade Shane Lowry at 101 you take out the PGA Championship where he putted like Ben krenshaw and not Shane Lowry you take out the Zurich Classic where by all means by his own account Rory mroy carried him for most of it it hasn’t been too great as of late so I’m willing to fade it I think the putter is going to come back to earth and you look at this leaderboard in 2019 the top five were top five in Strokes game putting eight out of the top 10 were inside the top 10 in Strokes game putting so in a potential birdie Fest I’m going to shy away from Lowry okay fair enough we’ll see if I have any Shane Lowry picks later in the show but I understand it at that price now see here’s something I don’t understand Alex norren still hasn’t won on the PGA tour and he’s probably one of the three best players on tour along with Fleetwood and cam young who does not have a PGA Tour Victory but you’re backing him week at 9900 why yeah I mean listen everything’s a case-by casee basis if this was a field that had Xander and Klay and Scotty and Rory I think I would approach the Tommy Fleetwood or or Alex norn conversation a little bit differently but if we just take the names away from it and we look at what Alex noren has been doing pretty much this entire year in every facet of the game I mean listen off the tea approach around the green play where he’s always been good Putter’s been good he’s doing everything right and in this field I feel like Alex norren is a guy that can win the tournament and at the very least pay off his pretty expensive price tag at 9900 what I think interesting about Alex noren is we know Rory mroy is going to get the Scotty sheffler treatment and again we’re talking DFS here well if Rory is going to be close to 50% or let’s just conservatively say 40% but it could be like 45 to 50% owned the second guy in in those lineups is it Alex norn most likely not most likely people are going to go below Alex noren’s Price or they’re going to try to jam in like a H theala or Sam Burns who who conceivably has perhaps greater upside than Alex noron so the cool thing about Alex noron is I think he can win this tournament I think he’s really good I think he’s gonna make the cut in top 20 this tournament at the very least but his ownership is low and it shouldn’t be so I just really love where Alex noren sits in terms of where he is on this DFS board Davis Thompson is an upside guy Davis Thompson is a guy that could absolutely missed the cut but if you look at his and and by the way again it’s DFS we’re playing upside we’re not playing floors right so I’m okay taking Davis Thompson at 7,800 and he’s one of those guys where I hope I’m on the right Trend I know the guy’s talented but if you look at his last three tournaments holy cow like his ball striking is absolutely Elite now that’s an extremely small sample size but I might be on the the sort of near end of of watching him do this for five out of six tournaments or seven out of eight tournaments I’m not sure I’m willing to take the chance on Davis Thompson Henrik norlander listen if you’re trying to save some money I love playing Henrik norlander in the non Rory lineups because if you’re playing Royal you’re probably trying to get cheap somewhere right with a with a Henrik or let let’s say a Chandler Phillips or a Robbie Shelton somebody like that but I like playing norlander in like the Alex norn lineups where I’m going up top with two expensive guys but then I’m but not named Roy mroy but then I’m also taking norlander who for the record rates out really well in this course he’s pretty accurate off the te I should say very accurate off the te the short game is really coming around and the the proximities we’re looking for which is generally the wedge game and some longer irons he rates out really well there too I know he’s Henrik norlander and can absolutely missed the cut but I actually think he has some top 20 top 30 potential here and we might see him in other contexts later on in this show as well so I think it’s a chance worth taking again we’re talking about DFS here my Fade’s gonna be Corey Connor I I I need somebody who has decent around the green and putting game and I don’t see it with Corey Connors these these greens are probably gonna be kind of receptive but I I still think they’re going to be relatively hard hard to hit here and there especi even with a tactician like Cy Connor I don’t trust the short game and so he’s a fade for me Patrick can you explain the Ben khaw line for those uh as far as him being a putter good good or bad oh bet one of the best ever if not the best ever so it Shane Lowry puted great out Valhalla Shane Lowry does not typically putt great is what I’m saying fair enough I mean yeah gain nine and a half Strokes putting at valhala so yeah I mean you never know all right uh before we move on to first- round leaders because I know a lot of you are very excited for this make sure to like this video subscribe to the Sportsline YouTube page uh a lot of great content including this guy who’s about to give out a couple of his first round leader plays and I’m sure he will add some more uh tomorrow or Thursday on the early Edge at 10: a.m. eastern so Saia the floor is yours tell us who you like this week so here’s the thing I have two in the if you will realistic range I have two in the long shot range you’ll have to wait and see those I may add a a one extra one for my article which which the the beginning part of that article’s already out the the the part with all of the picks I might add one here but again I like Alex nor at 33 to1 he’s got the morning tea time which I think will be an advantage and I just like the all-around game I mean you know he’s one of those guys where he’s not going to typically be my first round leader pick because the spike potential I I feel like with Alex norn relative to let’s say a Sam Burns isn’t necessarily there but I just love how he’s playing and he he has been known to spike in in first rounds in round spikes in general so I’ll take him at 33 to one Sam Burns is not not a guy I’m looking at for the overall tournament he’s not one of my outrights probably not playing him in DFS although he is popular in some circles but I do think in a first- round leader Market he’s super solid if he can take the Rory maoy Appo approach in terms of just hammered off the te not find too much trouble o Trouble Over the 18 holes be dialed in with the approach in the putter he does sort of have the makeup for a classic first round leader I like the 40 to1 price would you consider Rory mroy at a low price here just to get off to a start and then maybe play the wire to wire uh if you do that angle probably I wouldn’t play the wire to wire only because I’ve just that’s just not something I I I tap into um he’s 11 to one as a first round leader like typ unless I’m unless I looked at that incorrectly because I did look at that I mean I do like to take some short favorites like a sheff in the first- round leader Market because you’ll obviously get longer odds but at 11 to one first round leader I’m sorry like he does he does have an advantage playing here in 2019 over a lot of different players who have never played here but now 11 to one’s way too short for a first round leader yeah I see 14 to1 here uh on on one of the sports books I mean still anything below 20 to1 what’s kind of your cut off when it comes to playing FR frls what is too low I you know it if I went back in my history I doubt I’ve taken one shorter than 25 to won I think I did it once with Scotty sheffler this year like two or three weeks ago where he was four to one and I was like well let me this is how I want to play Scotty let me get him at 12 but that was Scotty Sheffer was a little bit of a different scenario he had that morning tea time I I usually like to be somewhere in like the 30 to 80 to one sort of wheelhouse because those are the guys that probably especially when you get to that 80 range probably can’t do it for four rounds but absolutely can do it for one coming up next unfortunately we’re fading both of your first round leaders here in our match up segment first let’s hear from one of our [Music] sponsors all right Patrick uh I kind of teased it out there but Sam Burns you’re going against him this week uh why are you fading slam and Samy who great on the greens but really hasn’t been great since January it’s bizarre you would you would think when Sam Burns gets off the West Coast his season begins but right this year it’s been the the polar opposite he’s been pretty bad ever since Riviera and missing three out of his last five cuts I agree with see he could easily pop in the first round there’s no doubt about that he’s super talented uh but I do like Tom minus 105 over him who honestly has had a pretty disappointing season as well he he his best finish is like a t18 t19 something in that realm but I like the course fit for him and I I think he’s on the cusp of something a really good start whether that’s a top 10 finish whether that’s contention we’ll see but I like the trajectory of Kim a little more at minus 105 and something about both these guys uh fourth straight week for both of them I’m assuming that me they’re not going to play next week at Jack’s Place so might be a little tired uh but give me Kim in the stamina test and then sah theala minus 120 love sath every which way this week great off the tea great on approach both career highs in terms of those two statistics and career high putting year so far and he’s a great putter so give me him minus 120 over Shane Larry all right so let me ask you about uh playing so often because next week the memorials of 25 $5 million purse and then you have the US Open after that so I mean it could be if those guys chose to play six weeks in a row why is that a bad thing at this point no is that is that not is that just too much no they won’t they won’t do six no but why I mean it’s G you why you’re walking you hit a few you hit a few on the Range you get I mean no seriously I just you know with that much money on the line and then you’ve got The Travelers which is another $25 million purse after the US Open so you could technically say seven in a row no they’re they’re they try to avoid four in a row at all cost they hate it like three is the max they want to do and no offense to the memorial or The Travelers that’s not the event circled in that span it’s the US Open so it’s all about getting ready for pner number two I’m looking at 25 million I’m going I’m not playing this week I’m waiting for the memorial but hey that’s that’s me all right see uh Aaron Ry is a guy that you know I can relate to on the golf course because I used to work well barely that I used to wear two gloves on the course for a while uh and then I said I I can’t do that just my right hand you know I wasn’t gripping the club well don’t laugh Jake I know you’re probably hear that yeah I I took off the second glove it took me like five years of of playing with two gloves but Aaron Ry defies the odds he might be the only player on tour right now that plays with two gloves why are you picking him over Canadian Taylor pendra well you might recall I was on Aaron Ry last week as well as an outright in the top 40 Market that one actually hit if memory serves I think I that was one of the two top 40s I hit but I like Aaron Ry this week too I don’t think there’s a big difference now I think there’s a lot of different ways to attack this course but I think Aaron Ry rates out at least as good as he did last week and I loved him last week the only surprise for me when it comes to Aaron Ry in terms of my selections is why I don’t have him as an outright and you’ll see when we get to outrights I’ve kept my list pretty short I want to give myself room to at least add one more he’s in that 40 to1 range but Taylor pendrith is going to be popular because people are going to say well listen Taylor pendrith is great off he can do that s sort of Roy mroy type approach and by the way he’s been in really good form I think the problem I have with pendrith is he’s wildly inaccurate off the tea at times as well and and if that becomes a problem for him then I think he’s really gonna have a problem with some Bogies with some potentially even worse than that so I like Aaron ry’s consistency when I’m looking at matchups that’s really what I’m looking for I do think Taylor pendrith can overpower the course to some degree I don’t think he can do it for four days though so I’m going to take Aaron Ry consistency minus 130 over Taylor pendrith and then I’ve got top Frenchmen listen like not all the matchups are out when I want them to be so I kind of had to search for this one I’ll probably add a matchup or two to my article but I like Victor Perez minus 110 who by the way rates out a little bit better than I thought he would for this course you know who doesn’t rate out well Paul Baron and Martin trainer by the way this top Frenchman is at two of three major books I believe bet MGM has it and FanDuel I don’t think DraftKings has it so just so everybody knows but again Perez rates out well bar joh Martin trainer neither of them do uh this is a I I think this is a really good nationality play so um I’m really happy I found it but anyway those are my two for now I did want to mention one other thing Turtleman 137 in the chat thank you I have the wrong number on Alex norn first round leader it’s 40 to1 it’s not 33 to1 if you recall I had Sam Burns at 40 to1 and I had Alex norn at 33 to1 they’re both at 40 to1 so thank you for correcting that error that’s where you should be taking it 40 to1 which you can pretty much universally find so again thanks for that Patrick where did you get your two matchups by the way uh they were at Bumm drum roll please sahith over Lowry’s DraftKings and then Kim over Burns is m GM boy scouting the sports book B I’m going all three from DraftKings Tommy Fleetwood over Alex noren listen Tommy non- US events I teased this earlier in nine in his last nine tournaments including last year’s Canadian open six top 10 in a win when he hasn’t played in the US I mean nothing against noren who has this year in 12 tournaments only two top 10 but Tommy outside the US is golden so we’re gonna roll with that at minus 110 on DraftKings Nick Taylor over Rio hits atsun don’t ask me to say that five times fast I already messed it up earlier this year also minus 110 you remember who won this event last year he’s Canadian I mean I know he hasn’t been great since his uh Waste Management Phoenix Open win but he’s a defending Champion he’s going to play well Rio I mean hasn’t been great lately he has four top 20s and 15 events this season no top 10 I’m might to take a chance with the defending champ Nick Taylor at minus 110 and then of course McKenzie Hughes who I am a big fan of this week the putters red hot he’s gained uh Strokes in six straight on the greens and AE batia back-to-back missed Cuts after a 42nd Place finish at the Wells Fargo uh not good so we’re going to fade oay at minus 120 now Patrick pay attention for finishing positions because I’m going to throw one your way after C and I go through them just want to point that out uh CA you’re going back to the well here with a with three guys that you’ve already talked about earlier in the program we’ll have you start with Mr norlander top 40 which is Savvy considering you think he may even finish higher than that yeah I mean you’re right we we kind of covered Alex noren T20 plus 100 Aaron R T20 plus 160 I will say this it’s really weird before I get to norlander the Sports books will like have something up and I’m talking about the major ones and then they’ll like take it off and then they’ll put it back up so normally I like to dip into the T30 Market as well and and some of the sports books that offer that just don’t have them up right now so I didn’t feel good about giving them out so I again I I just want to point out that there there might be one or two I add for my article but I really like Alex nornor if you don’t believe in him as an outright I totally get it but as a top 20 in this field given his form really like it at even money Aaron Ry T20 you could have played this in the t40 market but it was minus 150 over at Bed MGM so I didn’t want to pay that juice I’ll gamble on the T20 if I’m playing it plus 160 I’m obviously putting even less on it because everybody knows I I say this almost every show these are usually like half unit plays but when I’m getting a number like plus 160 or norlander Cas plus 225 I’m putting way less than a half a unit on it because of what the return is so just you you you all can bet however you want I’m just letting you know how I bet when it comes to finishing positions specifically uh norlander again I think rates out really well I’m getting plus 225 at a t40 listen this guy can miss the cut but good news plus 225 I don’t need to lay a lot down to win a lot and so uh norlander again mysteriously rates out really well the approach game is solid the accuracy is solid the short game isn’t terrible uh t40 plus 225 love it there were other guys I was considering I just want to point out but I thought the value had been sapped a little bit MC Meisner was a guy who I played in DFS last week um he’s plus 115 to Top 40 I think that number should be a little longer so I off of that one all right I’m going to play I I love playing this Market in some weeks we hit him good and some weeks we don’t hit him well McKenzie Hughes top 10 plus 330 uh you can find this one on DraftKings including ties and I also like his top 20 at plus 150 including ties as I mentioned the putters red hot third at the valpar sixth the Quail Hollow we know he can pop and he was 14th at this course at Hamilton golf and country club in 2019 when r m ran away now a guy who was second here that year with Shane Lowry his top 20 at bet 365 also including TI’s plus 110 uh he uh gained more than eight Strokes putting that week so he was close to his Ben khaw days uh like we saw at the PGA Championship can can he do it again we’ll see about that uh but let’s hope the putter is red hot for a top 20 plus 110 including ties yeah I’ll take that Adam hadwin now when you think about Adam hadwin you don’t think about the uh three top 10 and 13 starts this year you think about him getting steamrolled by the security guard last year after buddy Nick Taylor w i mean that’s what you think about right now we’re getting him at plus 180 for a top 20 including ties at DK uh that’s solid considering he was sixth here at this course in 2019 and another Canadian that I like here Ben Silverman for a top 40 plus 15 also including ties bet 365 t32 at Colonial 16th at Myrtle Beach before that four top 20s and 14 tournaments we’re just asking for a top 40 so Patrick I come to you after all that you see on the board here if you were to take one of these to Parlay with Rory maroy to win because you can do that of course which is the one you would take of the seven on the board here easy Alex noren top 20 even money he hasn’t finished outside the top 25 since February so let’s keep a good thing going he’s playing phenomenal golf super well-rounded top 20 lock it in with Rory mroy all right there you go on some books you can do that you just heard it right from Patrick okay fair enough avoid my fate on unless Tommy Fleetwood beats him but okay fair enough where can you bet all these of course at B MGM and if you are not a bet MGM customer well what are you waiting really turned that weakness into a strength and third in this field in putting over that same span as well if this does turn into a putting contest I know it’s a one-year sample it’s super small I’m not saying it will but if it does sah can keep up in that case so I’m I’m rolling with him at 22 to1 and when I looked at this leaderboard from 2019 you take out Rory mro’s name it’s a pretty good tournament it kind of looks like a window Championship I’m not saying it is but you see web Simpson who’s named one two three maybe five of his children after that tournament you see someone like a Henrik Stenson who has won that tournament someone like a Brandt snedker who has broken 60 won that tournament twice Sun JM has played great at Sedgefield Country Club as well web Simpson who was on his bag in 2019 Paul Torri who is now on Tom Kim’s bag I’m Gonna Roll with him we know he can win if he gets in the mix on Sunday the issue has been just getting there I think he’s on a good trajectory to do that this week and uh I like the number at 35 all right uh seea We’ve alluded to it Patrick’s making fun of us for picking Tommy Fleetwood even though I am making that was a defense I’m defending fair I I listen I like the gall of this I’m just saying with that number now we’re C and I are playing Tommy without Rory why do you like that Tommy bet see you so just to be clear there’s a couple things I want to say here the only the only Market I’m playing without Rory is the Tommy Fleetwood one because I just like it’s very clear on the graphic but I just want people who might be listening to this later don’t be confused I’m having one outright without Rory and it’s Tommy Fleetwood because I’m only losing two points on it which in the scheme of things isn’t nothing is running away with this thing like he did in 2019 and Tommy fleetwood’s five shots back and I’m like all right he just has to fend off the people that are behind him listen Tommy Fleetwood is more of a hunch I was on a show yesterday and I literally said on the show that I haven’t decided who I’m deciding between between Tommy Fleetwood and siit theala was like I’m playing one of them I haven’t decided which one and I was truly from a statistical standpoint I was very much leaning towards the hit theala because he he won in that category but again I just kind of went with my gut here like I just feel like Tommy Fleetwood should be raing out a little bit better I feel like his game caters to this course just as well if not better than siah theala so I’m just pointing it out I think both of these are really good plays um as far as the other two I’m playing these with Roy mooy Alex nor at plus 2500 00 and Davis Thompson at plus 5500 again Davis Thompson is a guy I considered in the top 40 Market but I don’t want to like be the victim of like some implosion so I’m I’m more willing to play him as an outright maybe this these last three tournaments are like really a thing for Davis Thompson he can actually win this tournament but I I’m worried about like maybe I’m I’m missing something and he’ll regress and finish t-56 all right well I’m playing scared this week and I’ll admit it h I’m afraid that Rory mroy is gonna beat me so I’m going to play the without Market Tommy Fleetwood in two appearances in Canada by the way we know he finished second in the playoff last year when we all had him and he probably should have won based on what Patrick said earlier and he finished sixth in in his other previous RBC Canadian open I mean come on Tommy you got to get it done it’s outside the United States there’s no excuse that you shouldn’t be up there Mackenzie Hughes who I’m big on this week I had him third in my fantasy column over at sportsline.com and Adam hadwin I think I had fifth who uh I’m big on it you know he needs to make up for getting tackled and embarrassed on the green last year 40 to1 without Rory let Rory win and then finish second at 40 to1 and then we’re cashing this ticket so I I will feel pretty darn good about that all right uh let us move on to Long Shots now now this is where it gets interesting see I’m actually G to start with you on this one because you had mentioned your F frls that you’re going to go a little bit deeper uh with a couple of long shots let’s see what you got yeah I’m taking a couple of guys that I mentioned earlier on the show I’m gonna start with uh M Meisner at 80 to one as a first round leader again he’s a guy that has really been flashing over the last few tournaments like I do think I did look at his just overall outright number and I think it was a little lower than this 80 to1 number maybe maybe as low as like 65 to one uh either way I don’t think he can win it and this is really like when we’re talking about first- round lead of long shots we’re literally talking about putting like one or two bucks on this stuff so I think Myer’s playing well enough we saw it last week too I think he’s playing well enough to justify uh having him Spike for round again I think he’s going to be a popular play in DFS by the way because he’s 6,500 if you want to stick him to your lineup I have no problem with that whatsoever another guy I’ll be playing in DFS is Henrik norlander at a super cheap 5600 Price He by the way historically if we go back to when norlander was like initially relevant and I’m talking like preco when I was noticing him he was he he did have that round Spike potential so I think he has it here too I love how he rates out for this course I love the number 125 to1 you can put a dollar on this if you want and potentially have a sweat on a Thursday morning so Patrick you want to hear how to get Rory mroy at 54 to1 to win this week let me have it let me have it just play just play Douglas’s pick of will baitman in the top 20 uh and then you you parlay that with Rory mine you get him at 54 to one do we know anything about will baitman uh you’re the golf genius here I I’ll be honest I’ve never heard of him what can you tell us will baitman um I can’t say he really comes to mind uh not not that I’ve uh done much corn fairy tour I’m I’m just thinking American Psycho though brother of Patrick potentially I’m thinking Justine baitman that’s like a really old school reference Joe Joe’s got to know what I’m talking about uh I I know who will baitman is because I just I my my eyes ran across his corn fairy record which for the record wasn’t super impressive I’m not sure I was say I don’t really get I’m not sure where the question comes from I don’t think he um justtin yeah I there’s there’s nothing uh there’s nothing about him that would let lead me to believe that he’s playable in this tournament I Ain touch yeah we’re going to stay away from the Rory at 54 to1 but Patrick you’re going to play a 90 to1 so who needs Rory when you can have Mark Hub yeah Mark hubard 90 to1 would you be surprised to learn that he has the longest made cut streak this calendar year caveat yeah on the PJ tour with 15 some good upside in there Pebble short positional Golf Course uh Zurich Classic he flashed could not make a putt alongside Ryan brim of all people and even though the result does not indicate it he played quite well at Valhalla so I’m going to take a chance on him at 90 to1 playing the best golf of his career I don’t know if he has enough putting upside and I almost got really weird in this section I’m talking obviously Grayson Sig 125 that was it’s like an auto bet at that number to tell you the truth and then uh Matt coocher a buck 75 thought about it maybe like a Zack Johnson top 20 play around eight to one I also thought about that but I laid off only you know what’s crazy about coocher is that he’s when people are like yeah he’s doing it all with the putter like they they kind of mean he’s doing it all with the putter but like like there’s somewhere else where he’s like at least decent coocher is literally doing it I shouldn’t say literally it feels like literally doing it all with if you look at his stats like somehow his ball striking is like atrocious around the green play pretty bad his putting is unbelievable golfer from Michigan state had a very nice uh Big 10 season for a top 40 it’s six to one you want you want some long shots okay to disrespect his game Sorry I didn’t rec I didn’t know of his game I I can’t tell you who’s number two on the Canadian amateur list but at least they give you number one Ashton mccullock you’re looking you want to Parlay him with Rory probably get that at Rory at 30 to1 to win it okay just throwing it out there all right uh how about this parlay here uh Rory top five Fleetwood top 10 Shane Lowry top 20 plus 1100 at DraftKings love that and then this top 20 parlay you do with it as you please maybe half a unit that may be way too much for Sea’s blood but for me you know take a shot how about this Canadian tree of gory Connor Adam hadwin McKenzie Hughes at plus on there Sam brins is on there sah is on there cam young who we haven’t talked about is on there and of course Keith Mitchell is in this well and Shane Lowry Shane Lowry should not have a line through round leader I think it could go either way I forget about first- round leader I think Scott like if Scott was going to win another tournament in his career on the PGA tour this feels like and that’s kind of the same sentiment with Fleetwood I’m almost I’m almost like mad at myself for betting Fleetwood at the 14 without Roy or even the 16 when a 40 five is sitting out there on Adam Scott because I don’t feel like they’re that different uh when we’re just talking about evaluating for four rounds what they could do with from a spike potential standpoint seea you want to sing a bar from the
