hello ladies and gentlemen I’m Jimmy with tropican golf and as you’re about to see the weather conditions today are not ideal it’s not going to stop me from playing but it is going to allow me to teach you something that is very important when you play in these elements it’s Misty it’s foggy it’s cold the ball’s not going to fly far and if you hit your normal high ballooning shot it’s going to be a very very long day you need to hit a low penetrating shot now if it was windy well was windy that’d be great because then we’d have all the elements and I could really show you but if it’s windy it’s the same thing you got to hit something low you got to let it run now how do you do that well I’m going to show you how to do it and it’s way easier than you think it’s coming up right after this okay so you’re probably used to hitting this big ball boning fade let’s call it a fade when it’s really a slice and it it gets real high and then it just starts like falling well in these conditions it’s going to be deadly the ball’s not going to go very far and if it was windy forget it your ball would be in the street every time because the wind just takes it you got to hit something low you got to hit something that gets out of this thick air you need to compress the ball great how do I compress the ball well you hear all these things hands forward shaft lean all that stuff is true okay but there’s one element that makes you really compress the ball if you notice it’s this bam it’s not this is no power if you were had a punching if this was a punching bag right here you wouldn’t punch it like this you’d give it an uppercut boom there’s the power my elbow is nice and tight to my body now what I see a lot is this and what is this oh this is great for baseball this big elbow up here you turn into it then the elbow comes in and you hit the ball not in this game that’s a recipe for disaster this is the flying elbow and it will eat you alive just like the chicken wing on the other side any kind of motion like this this is not a golf motion now in baseball sure Mookie Betts takes his hands and puts them right in here bam that’s great it’s a round bat and the whole thing this you need to have connection right here this bent right elbow here and then boom so it’s very simple here’s what I think about when my elbow goes back when I take my back swing I imagine that this elbow is pointed down at the ground once I feel the elbow pointing at the ground my back swing is done that’s it I don’t continue I feel here and right here I’m done from here all I do is gently turn forward looks like this get to a nice full finish the elbow is tight I see so many people that have this giant Gap right here you can fly an airplane a helicopter right through here no it’s here so I also don’t want to see this oh okay I got to I got to attach my elbow let me do this no cuz your elbow is now pointing back there your elbow must point to the ground Ben Hogan boom from here just wind up and unwind that’s it I’m going to play this hole this is a par five dog leg right it’s raining it’s foggy you can see it it’s not great I got to hit a shot that gets out there enough because you know you don’t want to hit 120 yard shot either but you want to make sure that it’s penetrating through the air I don’t let it get way up there just let it go also I’m playing a uh American flag ball in commemoration of uh Memorial Day I usually play an Odin golf ball today I’m playing this one so just know that boom right here soon as I feel this this motion right here I’m done left arm is across my body Bam from here here gently turn back to the Target that’s it look Boom turn back and let all this stuff just just come back along with you okay that’ll lag the club that’ll get hands forward the whole thing I get here let’s take a practice swing exactly how I’m going to hit the ball I’m here done turn forward one more that didn’t feel smooth here done that’s the one I like let’s go let’s do it again three two one I’m going to hold this finish until the ball hits the ground done that’s an absolutely marvelous shot marvelous I walked you through the whole thing there’s no secrets there’s no uh Secret Sauce 12-step program on how to hit the ball no do that and it will work okay now we’re going to go hit it again and hit it again and hit it again now I know you’re probably thinking hey you got something funny going on today new setup here it’s raining and I can’t put the microphone on my caller so it’s up here on my hat on my new trop King hat hats available at tropican golf shop.com if you so desire just support myself and Tropicana I would love that tropanol shop.com the trop King hat anyway microphone’s up here please don’t uh get weird about it anyway so this weekend when you go out excuse me I need to Wet My Whistle this is look at look at this coffee cup what a disaster it’s bouncing around in here black coffee on a rainy day black coffee on a rainy day it’s just one of those things that it’s unbelievable it’s unbelievable what a great feeling um so this weekend if you go out and play and whether there are elements or not I want you to try this even if you go to the driving range give it a shot elbow pointed down and from there you’re done think about how easy that is think about it for a second all the stuff that you know that you’ve heard that you feel and the training and this and that a good back swing to set position and then just turn back to the Target that’s all it is don’t overthink it it’s a winding and an unwinding here’s my ball roasted I don’t know if my camera was on there I hope it was there was some kind of technical issue cuz my cameraman called in sick again laziest person on the planet just kidding I don’t have a cameram man but one day I will anyway listen in case you missed all that right elbow points to the ground from here I unwind again unwind slowly just relax everybody’s so quick to no look that’s it at a Tempo take a practice swing exactly I’m going to hit it that’s it there’s no violent move there smooth like butter three two one that thing is so low and hit so hard and compressed that’s compressed I have 200 I have three I had 300 yards to the pin okay 300 I have a three iron that I just hit so I went driver three iron this a long hole very long hole look at this thing it’s a very long hole I had to make sure to keep the ball in play so that I can hit my third shot on have a chance to putt for birie but most importantly have a putt at par that is my number one goal always and good things happen and I’m not overzealous and like I got to make birdie no no no just have a chance to putt for par I had 350 yards let’s see how far I hit that with that little baby swing here’s 150 out I’m sorry I didn’t have 350 I had 300 yards out and I’m exactly exactly at 100 okay this needs a little attention uh but I have 100 yards to a front flag I’m going to take a 60° wedge okay it’s a front pin I would rather not go past it so I take something that goes 94 yards maximum if I absolutely hammer it but I’m not going to hammer it I’m going to swing smooth and if it goes 86 that’s okay I’m still putting what do I do get here elbow points down I’m done done this is it this is your whole swing want to see it again look at the trickery ready done now from here I just turn back okay I’m going to take a a a a practice swing exactly how I’m going to hit the ball okay now I want you to watch the next swing it’s going to look exactly like that three two one I hit a little chunky that thing went 80 two yards and I’m off the green okay that was my third shot my goal was what putt for par I probably have to hit a wedge here and that’s just fine but I’m going to have a chance to putt for par and if you are a 12 to 25 handicap putting for par is your best friend cuz some of those are going to be birdie at some point okay look I’m short I’m six yards short I’m going to hit a wedge just for the sake of this video so I can show you how to hit this beautiful this is a 69 degree wedge I live and die by this club it’s my favorite Club in the bag 100% now you’re probably thinking 69 you’re crazy that’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever it’s a joke no it’s not a joke I’m going to show you why I make a V with my arms and I do that and somehow some way it’s always perfect I don’t have to hinge I don’t have to hold I don’t have to think about anything I just make a V with my arms and swing the V ready watch this take one practice swing and I do it again three two one marvelous absolutely marvelous I don’t know how I don’t know why 69 okay don’t ask any questions just just do it I’m telling you save my game those things I I would have chunked it I would hit in the bunker I would have bladed it I don’t know it’s a whole it’s a whole thing I used to have there’s my ball foot and a half maybe two feet for what for par I got to make this though it’s not over I see the line it might break a little bit down the hill let’s put this over here so you can see a little bit better once again my cameraman failed me he could have moved that for me let’s put it over here okay now let’s raise it up done who needs a cameraman now same thing I practice my stroke here I imagine that I’m going to stroke the ball I have to hit it this hard I don’t break posture I don’t do anything crazy I just kind of tap it and hold my posture this is an easy putt one foot three two one knock down par not so bad right that was easy I did a couple things I didn’t hit my third shot on no big deal got up and down made a five and we move on we’re going to play another hole I’m going show you this stuff works you just got to play like this when you go out this weekend please do it practice it practice it in your backyard keep that elbow down point it at the ground now eventually on your down swing yes it comes up and whatever but you need to feel that initially on your back swing that elbow is down at the ground and close to your body okay forget all this other stuff of the chicken the uh flying elbow and sucking it back inside and then taking it over the no just one Motion Set it and that’s the easiest thing the easiest way to do it set it and forget it this is an uphill par 4 can’t hit driver cuz you’ll roast it through the paway so I have to hit a three iron with a little bit of a draw no problem let’s do do it there’s the three iron there’s the t- Box there’s the hole goes up around the corner as you can see number one goal hit it on grass there’s the tea box okay you see one solo palm tree over here on the left that’s my aiming Point that’s where I want it I line up to that and if I can turn it left from there cool if it goes straight cool if it fades cool I got plenty of room so I aim somewhere that nothing nothing’s going to hurt me what do I do here anything different absolutely not swing to here elbows pointed down at the ground from here gingerly gingerly turn back looks like this again very smooth very easy three two one perfect ball flight started a little bit more right than I wanted but like I said if it goes a little right it’s okay if it goes a little left it’s okay as I aimed in a place that nothing could hurt me done I didn’t do too much I got a second shot in where’s the pain remember that where’s the beef wonder what happened to that lady most people don’t even remember that where’s the beef our be right I remember where’s the beef but I don’t remember what it was for I think it was Arby’s anyway it’s kind of a those are things I think about often like slogans theme songs marketing Geniuses these people but that’s when TV was like the only thing that mattered now we get fed media all day every day it’s hard to remember patchy things like the afflac duck and uh Larry H Barker got me $2.1 million it was a.2 Million either way it wasn’t very much today’s standard there’s my ball I have 150 yards to a very well protected green okay I must fly that bunker I must so I’m going to take a nine iron because my n iron goes oh 150 something now this is uphill but it’s wet now actually you know what I take that back I’m going to hit an no I’m going to hit a n iron I pulled it I feel comfortable with it let’s do it the ball’s going to go a little left because I’m the ball’s above my feet I’m slanted on a little Hill so I know it’s going to start I know it’s going to go left so I started a little bit right you can see the flag you can see some trees to the right of it that’s where I’m going to start it then I’m going to take my normal swing right here elbow down from here turn back get to a finish and let’s see what happens I just took my practice swing three two one straight ball wouldn’t you know it come on go okay it flew the bunker that’s safe let me fill that divot what is that oh tree bark um it flew it it’s okay I’m I’m going to be on maybe not on the green maybe just short of it I get to use my 69 again 69 commercial here it’s a great glove I hit it the same way every time it’s Mar around the green perfect I can’t I couldn’t ask for anything better so let’s go see let’s see if I can make another par remember my goal was to what putt four par the ball is not flying I probably could have hit an eight iron I probably should have hit an eight iron I had 150 to the center my nine iron goes 146 I was playing that number it probably went 135 but it’s golf my friends and that’s what happens there’s no computer here to uh do it for you you must do it and there’s always room for human error okay let’s see where it is I missed just right yeah not too bad look it’s right there you can see it boom so it’s four yards five yards off the green four yards four yards off the green and almost pin high so nineiron was the right Club it just needed to go a touch left okay here we go again how do we do this 69 deal how do we do it make a v swing it back swing it Forward I know you can do this at home look how easy this is make a v swing it back swing it forward that’s it there’s no secret behind it make a v swing it back swing it forward that’s it do it one more time swing it back swing it Forward ready three two one ball goes up releases go in wow it’s not a joke it’s not a joke show you what else is not a joke get my putter excuse me that’s a onef footer it’s a one footer for par I want you to try this please let me finish this up so nobody has any issues four it’s two pars two pars one very long hole one tricky hole make it easier okay remember that right elbow please remember that right elbow have it point to the ground and then gingerly turn forward don’t do too much don’t work too hard keep it easy happy Memorial day see you next time

  1. I don’t know what do now Mr. Jimmy! Yesterday I was happy hitting my 9 iron 125, 8 iron 135, 7 iron 145 etc. Just got back from the driving range and picked up a solid 15-20 yards on every club – this compression stuff really works! I guess I’ll say “thank you” but don’t know if can handle hitting real golf shots- This is uncharted territory!

  2. Thanks for the advice Jimmy – much appreciated! I went out to the range a few days ago and tried to have "the prettiest swing" or prettiest follow through like you said. I am now a club longer. Speaking of catch phrases, I can't remember which beer "tastes great" and which is "less filling", but I know Ben Hogan said something about meeting sexy chicks near the flagstick. Thanks again!

  3. Found your channel a few weeks ago, been trying to simplify the swing, keep the ball in play, last 2 weeks in my 9 hole league shot 37 and 39 , USGA handicap is 10.5 for 18. Thanks for the content you provide, I can’t get with a 69 degree wedge , yet.

  4. Hey, Jimmy! Been following your videos for the last few months. You’re extremely consistent with both your advice and swing. Brilliant! BTW, what’s the name of your home course?

  5. Great and simple approach! Tiger would often put a glove under his right arm pit to ensure connection.

  6. Since watching your videos my scores have dropped dramatically!! The jacuzzi analogy is GOLDEN!!!

  7. Hey Jimmy. i played today and followed your advice on chicken winging it. Kept my trail elbow tucked tight and pointed down at top of swing. Didn’t work on every swing, but damn! Basically shot bogie golf on back 9. Shot a 96 my dude! Thank you for giving advice and making this difficult game a little easier. I started playing October 2023 and have goals of shooting bogie golf or better by October 2024.

  8. I bring the 2 cups of black coffee in the yeti every morning round.
Love the instruction it’s right on!!

  9. Jimmy It's always a pleasure watching and Listening to your Videos.. It give me enormous confidence to take what you trying to portray to all of Us that we can do It.. we just need to follow your Instructions …for me I get really excited perhaps too much when I try and put it into practice and probably Tense Up Instead to relaxing and getting a better Rhythm in the back swing to the follow through Position…..But Just watching you hit a golf ball So Smooth and effortlessly Gives me the will that I will Get there as Long as there are people like You Who take the Time and trouble to help people like Me and Everyone who wants to play better Golf….Many Many Thanks Jimmy keep up the Great work…"we Need You"👌
