all right Rick boosic here at Valhalla Justin Thomas is having an experience like he’s never had with these throngs of fans all in one place rooting for him his second day of that he appears to like it he’s in a good position on the leaderboard what do you think of what you saw from Justin today yeah I mean he had a great shot probably the shot of the day on 14 when he he overshot the green off the tea and then chipped it in from the thick grass downhill uh that really got him energized he said later on the round he saw his ninth grade English teacher he saw a kid he used to carpol with all around the 18th green they were cheering for him he still got work to do he’s five Strokes off the lead but he’s in 10th place and he’s in position to have a storybook finish everybody you know has a scenario that runs in their head of of them potentially winning the tournament but you know how that happens you don’t you don’t know but um I did the or I feel like I have done the most important part of of putting myself at least within Striking Distance and um you know I’m going to need a a a really good front nine tomorrow to work my way in the mix but I feel like I’m fully capable of that of how I’m playing and um it just yeah it’d be nice to to have a chance there on that back nine saw my freshman year English teacher today like I and you know like I I saw you know a teammate of mine a guy that I drove to school with every day in high school so like there there’s just there’s a lot of people I’m I’m seeing that didn’t necessarily but I mean it’s also you know it’s where I grew up so I guess it’s a part of it yeah I watched Justin up close on a few of his holes in this round and you could see as he walked through and people were cheering for him he was trying maintain his focus at the same time he had to acknowledge people and he did stop and acknowledge people which is great and it’s great that he was able to do that and be so effective on the course it’s going to be a fun final day to see if he can make a run at it here the leaders playing awfully well everybody tearing the course up including Rick posic read his stuff at wdrb.com Eric Crawford Rick boich and Valhalla for WDRB Sports
