fooled by adelite splendor Rebels are drawn to this [Music] place now this Spirit wasar on course and it’s already changed the game oh no the unruly masses will rejoice in you here and the weight of a Nation awaits a tribal core for its favorite Sons cam Smith and ripper in the furnace of pressure but 12 other packs have come for the same reason the hordes are always hungry for greatness it’s an absolute master class so it starts again and as always the wild will have its sa oh my down here whoever Tams will be triumphant the party is in full swing to the conquerors adly the white live returned to Adelaide for the most anticipated event of the 2024 season excitement was in the air as the inaugural event had exceeded even the wildest of expectations this encapsulates what Liv golf is all about I always love coming down under it’s it’s a lot of fun they provide a great atmosphere and there’s some die hards out there got to love it you know feel like we’re doing something different here I’m trying to find the right word to describe it cuz it was it was electric right here we go I think everyone would agree this is the most anticipated event that we have on the schedule Oh yes it’s raining am at the watering hole yeah it’s it’s a lot of fun I’m hyped right now the fans have been magnificent I love the watering hole I think it’s so fun and Chase Kea shot of the Year going in oh that’s one of the Great Moments in live golf history from the start of this year’s tournament the fans in Adelaide were determined to bring even more energy to an already rockus atmosphere are R the players circled this weekend on the live golf league calendar the day and the season schedule was announced they all know live golf adelay delivers the goods thank you let’s take you to the at the gra Golf Club in Adelaide South Australia it wasn’t hard to tell who the Adelaide crowd was pulling for all Aussie Ripper GC returned home inspired by the passionate fans with the goal to achieve what they failed to accomplish in 2023 claim the adate live team title being back here in Adelaide wow me there’s not much I’m not excited about all leean signing some autographs I think any opportunity we get to come down and play in in front of the home crowd is pretty cool they’re always so nice to us and there is a a sense of Pride the old magic from Cameron Smith very very promising opening hole for the other three rippers last year I know the boys probably didn’t perform like we would have liked to Matt Jones four birdies in his opening six holes oh I think you saw my reaction you cannot get any closer than that no yeah I’m not sure how that missed yeah last year was so epic and it’s going to be bigger this year the darling of the home crowd Cameron Smith boys are all ready to go this week and that motivation certainly there to try and spray champagne on that Podium on on Sunday night good opening day for Ripper GC they finished down in eighth place in Adelaide last year they were disappointed collectively but they’re fifth on 15 under palas only five off the lead held by Tor do we have a treat for you I have the pleasure of standing next to three Aussies Mark lean the playoff at his first live golf title and he started well today played nice today to be fair much better than yesterday but the round would present its share of difficulties s set I Elder you kidding me that’s going out over the green oh my gosh bro you kidding me oh man a cut cut cut down behave yourself near a tur hat moment there even as he focused on tracking down the leaders burer enjoyed the One of a Kind Adelaide atmosphere we’re trying brother we’re grinding thank you have your ball yeah whole six right who was it you there you go go the granny Shack I love that the People in all you know day two is uh is super positive Ripper GC continued to be the Main Attraction in Adelaide as they move into title contention this for cam Smith at 5 to begin his Saturday with a bird in he makes no mistake and Cam’s teammate for Ripper GC the Aussies on home soil it’s Matt Jones for birdie oh he’s got it riper GC delighting the Aussies here listen to the reception for the Alti hero well let’s see if Lucas Herbert can make a birie on 12 yeah get in Lucas Herbert and it’s raining ambera well the way it’s shaping up here Cameron Smith is going to be well in the mix going into we’re in we’re in the go Zone um yeah so I can’t wait for tomorrow [Music] Ripper GC arrived for round three with a singular purpose to celebrate the Liv team title with their Countryman on Championship Sunday Midway through round three they begin to make their move and the crow goes bzerk the boys started playing really well started looking at the leaderboard well the team competition is up for grabs Matt Jones the at 12 he’s made it to the Delight of the watering hole Ripper a tied for second just one behind Phils High Flyers everyone could feel what was what was going on and what we were all playing for and it was yeah it was something that like I’ve I’ve never really experienced that birie at 10 to give Ripper the lead it is on everybody the Aussies have come roaring back cam seem 46 under they lead by a shot Ripper weren’t the only ones seizing the momentum the High Flyers Brendan steel began a dominating run on the greens there’s a look at our leader Brendan steel for whom it would be a first live golf league title Man of Steel Brendan leads by two another birdie pup here for four in a row that is just what he was looking for it’ll be five birdies in a row for Brendan steel Ripper ignited by the passionate Adelaide craft began to run away with the lead lookas Herbert oh what a shot right when they needed it most Captain Australia brings it the half century what a RI a GC 50 under par they leave lead by that feeling when we were making birdies and and pushing that lead that might be the killer blow for Ripper GC everyone just wanted the Ripper GC team to win oh they’re breaking the back of the challenge here and they’re going away from the pack they lead by six in contrast to the party that accompanied Ripper was the calm and collected walk of Brendan steel who with a quiet confidence claimed his first live individual title Brendon steel congratulations what a performance in The Cauldron of pressure here Brendan steel wins for the first time in his live golf career it appeared that the only thing left for Ripper GC was to join Steel on the podium well they’ve come from all over Australia even all over the world they are willing rip a GC on to Victory I sort of thought we’d you know Cruis Cruis in and Stinger all of a sudden the South Africans are tied for second place with the High Flyers on 46 under we were about six in front but I like I was talking my bodies on the edge of the graen I’m like that’s nothing Stinger have leapt up the pylon from nowhere they’re 21 under grace gets Stinger to 50 under par they are within three shots things just change really quick those boys make like e birdie birdie they’ve closed the gap to two look at this on 15 that was for birdie put nor my gear away and MD M said look you might be needed again we’re only one in front the boys got one to go and I was like jeez and here’s cam for an absolutely crucial power and 18 to maintain the one shot lead for Ripper you know I’ll be honest I was I was myself there no and their level you know 18 uh scratch my head at White if Louie makes this we have our first ever team playoff the center all of a sudden it’s like oh we’re in a playoff now it’s fitting we are not done yet it’ll be South Africa against Australia two captains of the teams they will select two players added cumulative stroke play on 18 I don’t think he was very comfortable making the decision coming off a boie on 18 he kind of came to Jonesy and I and said what do you think I think cam wanted to pick himself and he wanted our blessing in a way who is it all right go boys I felt I was playing good enough as a captain I wanted to step up and be in the mix J we going I Lou he came up and said Dean we’re going to do it I said yeah we’re going to do it thanks mate half years almost two years we’ve been waiting for this history right first play off and I cannot wait to see how it goes my T on your parade brother like that you have the home team on the playoff makes it so much better picking cam we knew that the issue was going to be get it off the tap cam yeah I was scratching my head walking off the 18t on that first playoff hole after I just hooked at about 50 minutes left that’s exactly what he had to do and couldn’t get enough on it it is a huge Advantage for the South Africans now they need something very special from riper to take it from here or either to force an extra playoff hole if either Louie or Dean can hold one of these that should do it I thought one of them was definitely making a p yeah I really thought I’d picked a great line and I hit a good part just it’s down to Louie if there was ever a guy I would back to make 10 quarter quarter winner would be Louis who Tas in um that’s a pleasure that’s well amazing alive neither cam nor Le have gimmies here obviously I had to make it and two very nervy putts here for Ripper GC for sure I’m not going to make it I’m probably going to have to start running because there’ll be a few people after me right in the CER enter I’ve never heard anything that loud ever I wanted to go over in high five leash but I’ve got a 4-footer to make as well and I died he had a four-footer that felt quite like this one we go again I think I said they came on the way back and like how the hell did we get out of that one yeah well this is our chance now I don’t know how we got out of that but that’s already a win for us there’s a feel of Destiny to this I mean there thing is they must be gutted you’re not going to get a better opportunity the pressure for Ripper here is like it’s incredible psychologically perhaps advantage to RI a GC yeah yeah momentum switched and it felt like we’re ahead the second playoff hole of our first ever team playoff yeah I I just I just had a feeling now Mark he is next to hit here I was actually pretty happy with the the yardage I got cuz it was EX to the same yardage as the shot in my backyard from the back of my yard to the back pin so I tried to bounce it up there the first time didn’t quite get it up and I said to mad I’m flying it up there this time it’s backyard Trot trying to fly it over the slope and spin you think the Aussies will go down without a fight of course they [Music] won’t that’s got to sit that’s it that’s easy and another gone all the way to the back of that bunker I tell you he’s got a good angle he’s got a good live he can knock this stiff he will put the pressure back on the others got a set too oh catches the slope he just flew it a yard too far and hits the D slope oh wow you can’t write this it was actually unlucky cuz the bunkers were really firm that week so for me hitting the first one I knew exactly what it was like but then they raped it and it was prettyy soft there’s thousands of people watching me Millions brother if you look at any Caddy’s book there’s like a big X in that bunker without knowing it was over it kind of felt like it was going to be that’s a done deal now it comes down to the poster boy of Australian golf we got another chance typically when you get that other chance a lot of the time you take advantage of it and the boys do I think the coolest thing about the whole thing was four players four caddies equally happy everyone in that city was buzzing that night in Adelaide it was something that I’ll I’ll never forget they couldn’t have scripted it any better for them to win in Australia you know they should be really proud of what they did because it’s not easy if we ever go to South Africa I think we’ll get a feel of what they went through we would want to win that tournament so bad nost our shoes clean time for a shoy fellas forget stuff from St Andrews uh people will come up and tell me you know like the shot you hit and I’m like I don’t have no idea what you’re talking about but if someone ask me about that I a grain I’ll be able to tell him everything it’s it was the craziest thing i’ I’ve ever seen the craziest thing
