After posting a 4-under 67 in the third round of the PGA Championship, Corey Conners chats with TSN’s Bob Weeks about what worked well for him on the course and what putting up a big score on Sunday would do for him moving forward.
all right Cory Conor’s pretty solid day out there how would you sum it up yeah it was definitely a solid day um you know I felt like I gave myself a ton of really great chances today and um you know made a few but wasn’t able to capitalize on as many as I would have liked um felt like I hit my iron great today and get put myself in in some great spots um yeah was was pretty pretty solid day um you know hard to complain with the 4 underpar round but uh yeah what I like to get a few more to climb up uh further into contention I don’t know if you’re looking at the leaderboards throughout the day or if you’re seeing or noticing them even now but when you when you see people shooting 62s and 63s and stuff do you get a little antsy that I’ve got to step on the gas a bit more I think so but you know I know that you can’t force things out here and just try to stick to the game plan um you know give myself as many looks as possible um you know obviously takes some special golf to to shoot those scores but um you know it’s it’s out there with the the way that the golf course is playing the soft conditions um receptive greens but um yeah you know I think it makes me a little a little more disappointed with with the round uh than I should be possibly but uh yeah it was it was a solid day overall does it feel like you have a real low and and just talking to you this week it seems like there’s something about ready to sort of bust out yeah I certainly think so you know keep just trust in the process um feel great about my game um just uh yeah just got to get it into the a whole but I definitely feel like you know there’s a low one in me and just a matter of time before uh you know start putting some good scores together what does tomorrow mean for you we know we’ve talked all week about probably the last month about Olympics and and points and things like that is it important is tomorrow an important day in that process yeah I think every day is Meaningful but uh you know tomorrow is the Sunday of a major championship so um you know a low round tomorrow will will go a long way um you know to getting me to those places and um yeah be uh be playing hard out there and hopefully can put together a good round all right good luck on Sunday thank you
