this gets me seriously excited we’ve got the PJ Championship around the corner and we’ve got six shock invites to live goers to te up at Valhalla in the 2024 PGA Championship now I find this really quite funny yesterday’s video was all about Phil mikkelson and flushing it golf on Twitter having a little bit of Twitter beef and essentially flushing it golf put this tweet out saying DP World Tour in the Volvo China open were playing for 2.25 million and there were several spots available for winners or for people who wen’t otherwise exempt to get eligibility to play in the 20204 PGA Championship which players did however live golf and Singapore were playing the 10 times that amount with actually arguably some of the best players of Our Generation but yet no one had the ability to qualify for this year’s PJ Championship nobody and then Phil melson stepped in and said this which I’m going to say for the first time ever I’m agreeing with what Phil Mickelson said so essentially said this maybe some Live players won’t be missed but what if none of the Live players played would they be missed what about next year when more great players join all the following year at some point they will care and we will have the answer to sponsors and television quite a brutal note but I found it quite funny how we saw that on Twitter yesterday and today six live golfers have been offered invites to te open the 2024 PGA Championship like and some of these players like would definitely have earned their right there if they didn’t go to live through the world ranking system it’s skewed I don’t care what you think is absolutely skewed right now because Liv golf does have some of the best players not all of them but definitely some of them now I also find this really quite interesting CEO Seth wolf last year on the eve of the PJ championship at 2023 was very dismissive towards live golf I don’t think people really care about it and I don’t see how it’s a survivable business model now what do you think do we care about it is it survivable the fact that we’re all still talking about it means we probably do care to some degree is it survivable well the fact that we’ve got John RAM on a four or five year six year whatever year contracts it is the answer to that question is well it has to be and I think they’re banking on well ranking points joining with PGA whatever that looks like they’re banking on something like that so he went on further to say last year I’m going to add they can fund it for as long as they want but no matter how much money you have at some point burning it doesn’t feel very good I don’t see that they’re accomplishing much it seems logical to me then then we should work towards some sort of agreement and hope the Gain come back together so maybe his Forward Thinking is the fact that we’re offering a little bit of an olive Branch towards these Liv golfers in the sense of we know you would qualify if you didn’t play for Liv or play on Liv I should say play for play on you would definitely be teting with the PJ Championship because we know you’re good enough and we want to give the product the best look and definitely the players that are being added to this live from live golf definitely make the PGA Championship a better field like now we’re looking at a field that has 16 PGA champions in It 33 major Champions as we te up at Valhalla for the second major this year this is unbelievable like obviously we’re we’re we got Brooks caper as well Liv goer defending it in some good form and potentially I don’t know maybe you can go on to win it and on that note who do you think could go on to win it in fact hold that door let’s tell me let me tell you exactly who has got the invites so Taylor G sort of let it slip on Twitter yesterday saying looking forward to Valhalla next week see you all there so he’s the first one the next one is 2018 Master’s Champion Patrick greed the third one Dean burster fourth Lucas Herbert AJ and David pug now look at all those players there apart from Patrick Reed none of them have been major Champions before but arguably all amazing golfers that would definitely I’m going to say it right now be inside the top 50 in the world so definitely deserve a place on the roster next week does that change you the thought Adrian maron’s got to be a good shout hasn’t he we know how good he is and especially I think quite suited to like a PJ Championship layout sort of I don’t know I just fancy him that’s my little my little tip but essentially I do find it quite strange we have not offered invites to Lou usen 2010 open Champion now if you think he’s a former major champion and one that would I don’t know be a good fit to play let me know what you think on that so there are the six invites the PGA have offered out to live golfers is this an olive Bratch isn’t it well it definitely makes the field look a lot stronger heading into the second major of the year now don’t forget to subscribe to the channel and turn the Bell that way you can keep up to date with everything that’s going on with the PGA Championship and just with golf in general thanks for watching

  1. Not one will make the cut. That is why they were invited. LIV is a joke. Mickelsen is a Joke. By the way, LIV has exactly one real good player, Rahm. Screw LIV.

  2. Credit to the PGA for crediting some of the LIv accomplishments; as is obviously neeed.

That being said Sergio leads a list of LIv players who should have been invited.

Sad to see Oostheisen had to decline his offer.

    reminder:
the pga Tour can at any point also bolster their fields with LIv players …and they can have this without selling their assets or making any deals or anything.

LIv is literally not denying their players from doing anything outside of their 14 week schedule.

Last time I checked there was still 52 weeks in a year.

  3. Outta sight, outta of mind! Just don’t care about the livers! I think that the consensus of the golf groups I play with (around 30 players) don’t give a sh** about LIV!

  4. Seth Waugh’s job is to repeat what his wealthy patrons tell him to say. And to toss their salads on command.

  5. You mean MOST of them. If LIV had better broadcasting I wouldn’t give the P.G.A. Nazi tour a 5th glance. Sorry it’s a MUCH BETTER PRODUCT.

  6. It's been almost 3 years since LIV formed. How long do we keep talking about how good these guys are? No other sport carries ranking points for that long. If you qualify then fine. If you don't then too bad.

  7. Ogletree also got an invite. On the other hand, Oostie and Ancer are top 5 in LIV this year and didn't. Improvement, but if the majors would develop their own rating system, or if one of the majors would take the initiative to develop one, the majors would be the dominant force in golf if they aren't already

  8. The Majors have their own question to answer, do they want the best field or do they want a diluted field? How do we define the best players, currently it's the OWGR which as we know is not capturing all the best players. You can blah blah all you want about not playing the PGA tour, but clearly Liv has a few of the best and several major winners, so for the people running the major's they need some kind of resolution or there is potential question mark over the winner going forward if potentially some players are missing i.e. not invited. Now it is clear the people running the PGA Championship recognise some Liv players should be invited, they understand the OWGR are compromised. Liv have indicated they are open to 72 hole events if needed, maybe that is a way forward? Of all the golf event's I watch, it's The Open, Masters and PGA Championship followed by the US Open, then Australian Open, Australian PGA and the Scottish Open. I hope that all PGA/PIF talkfest come to an agreement soon so we can get back to seeing the best in all the big tournaments.

  9. I really don't know why we're still talking about why some LIV golfers aren't going to be at the majors. They knew what was going to happen once they joined that tour. They decided to take the money and run. I personally feel that they shouldn't be allowed invites. You have players who have stayed with the PGA, and worked hard for ranking points etc.
Yes, there are great players on LIV, but there are a lot more great players that will be on show at the upcoming major.
Phil Mickelson has caused ripples since he joined. He was the advert for taking the money. This was probably to pay off his gambling debts. He's become very bitter towards a tour that's given him so much. Shame on him.

  10. Sanctions are funding Liv. If you look at the increase in oil revenues to Arab states since the sanctions on Russian oil the amount spent on Liv in sign on fees and prize money is a drop in the ocean.

  11. Of course LIV matters. I didn't watch gilf on TV apart from The Masters and Open highlights. I can put 4/5 hours aside to watch golf. OWGR is now a joke and biased. DATA GOLF is the way to go.

  12. I am sure their invite was more from pressure from the sponsors. How can you have some of the best players in the world not playing in major tournaments.

  13. I won’t watch this major, I don’t watch anything that has Patrick reed in it, ill keep tabs, but think he should be done because of all his crying he has done and all the legal bs.Who are these players they invited? Are the “big” names of LIV golf going to be there already? They purposely not inviting them? Honestly, I hate the direction golf has gone and the division. I play more LIV style golf when I go, 4 of us, usually adult drinks and music going, but the traditional style of golf is a dying breed. Every other sport has been adapting over time but golf is reluctant, slowly change things over the years, trial and error and pick what works. LIV is more of a modern golfer style and the average golfer and PGA is your old style that many play but not as much as people think. Also YouTube style golf is starting to become a thing.

  14. For gods sake they went to Liv to play less golf. How on earth can they play both tours ? They are only playing against say 20 top players not against 160 pga tour players.Plus the courses they are playing look set up for birdies so the crowd can yell and hoop as the ball feeds to the hole!

  15. Free to watch on YouTube and yet no one is watching it. I have tried to watch but just can’t get into it. It just seems meaningless. As a result I now hardly watch any golf other than the 4 majors. The LIV players are just the personal Jesters for a couple of Saudi billionaires.

  16. No Sergio is too bad. I like Sergio a lot and would love to see him there over a lot of the others

  17. Hey BACK 9 FILMS, I just watched your video and I must say that it was really informative and well-made.

I was wondering if I could help you edit your videos and repurpose your long videos into highly engaging shorts? I can also make high CTR thumbnails for your channel

  18. Yeah we all know how fantastic Meronk is. Missed the cut, second from bottom at The Masters. And he should have been the pic instead of Aberg in Ryder Cup! Never hear u comment on that
