ABOUT AUSSIE GOLF PROS
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Steve Gannon and Glen Haynes created Aussie Golf Pros to provide a learning platform for golfers of all levels. They post content regularly on social media accounts. Their website, www.aussiegolfpros.com, includes blogposts, golf coaching series and links to great programs. New content, videos and downloads are added regularly.
Golf Coaches, Not Teachers
The Aussie Golf Pros are holistic coaches in every sense of the word. Steve and Glen are both fully qualified members of the PGA of Australia and are avid students of the Sports Sciences. Together, they are certified in Advanced Golf Coaching, Golf Psychology, TPI (Body-Swing Connection), NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming), Personal Development and Skill Acquisition.
Steve and Glen are not ‘Method’ coaches. They recognise that there are literally 1000’s of ways to swing a golf club! Rather than try to ‘change’ your swing, their goal is to help You Be The Best Golfer You Can Be!
Skill Development vs Technical Changes
Although technique is an important factor in improving a golfer’s performance, Skill Development is largely neglected in golf coaching today. Skill is something that can be tangibly improved with proper understanding of the golf impact laws and effective practice towards improved performance.
External Focus of Attention
Most golf teaching involves an internal focus. Common suggestions might include increased hip turn, a still head or improved hand path. These are all factors of the golf swing, which many golfers and teachers consider important. However, as they are focused internally, on movements of the body, golfers find changes extremely difficult to process.
today we have some putting alignment tips for you and if you do struggle with aiming a putter on the greens and in our experience that’s most golfers then this lesson is a real must we’re going to help you to identify any putting alignment issues and share with you our strategy for improving those we’re also going to introduce to you three effective putting alignment tools that we think you should check out to help you with your alignment and ultimately whole more putts good day golfers I’m Glenn Hayes welcome to Aussie golf pros where we help you be the best golfer you can be the issue that so many golfers have is that the position of their eyes hasn’t been optimized for that individual so what I mean by that is obviously most of us try to just get the eyes over the golf ball there’s a good starting point but that doesn’t suit everybody you can speak to optometrist you’re not going to get a comprehensive answer the fact is that alignment is challenging when we’re standing side onto the golf ball it’s a lot easier if we were right behind it and it’s very easy to aim left or right of the target even though it looks like you’re aiming straight at the hole so I’ve got a ball marker there and this is how we’re going to identify any issues the ball marker is directly between the hole and the ball it’s a dead straight 8T P has to be directly in line there now get your eyes over the golf ball with the Putter and have a look to see where that ball marker looks like it is in relation to the hole many of you are going to see that the ball marker actually looks like it it’s a little left or a little right in fact I do a little bit to me the ball marker looks like it’s a little to the left but if I move my eyes just inside the line a little then it starts to look straight and that’s what we’re identifying here the ideal position of your eyes in relation to the ball so that the ball marker looks like it’s directly between the ball and the hole I don’t think that this is just something wrong with you it’s it’s something that we need to go through we need to optimize the position of the eyes for you we find a lot of great Putters actually have the eyes just inside Cameron Smith Tiger Woods directly over the ball we don’t see many good Putters with their eyes this side of the ball too far over it tends to really mess up alignment for a lot of golfers but just over the ball or just inside experiment with the best position having a ball marker in place there and finding out what looks straight for you and it’s not just the position of the eyes we’ve got to turn the eyes and the head this way and this way and just by getting over the ball you you’re going to see that that’s actually going to change your perception of of what it looks like all right let’s hit a couple of Parts this is a really good drill to just get used to lining up and rolling over something maybe that was a hint of right to left on that part a little soft just trying to ril over the ball marker and that in itself just seeing the ball go over that ball marker and seeing the ball go straight that’s a great recalibrator for your eyes but you’ve got to position your eyes correctly first so that everything looks straight we can build more confidence in our alignment and we can hold more putts in order of their effectiveness let’s go through these putting alignment tools these training AIDs that are super effective in helping you to improve your alignment on the greens the simplest is a couple of tour sticks or a couple of clubs on the ground a straight 6t pot with the sticks either side and making sure that you your putter is parallel to those sticks and set yourself a goal maybe try to get 10 in a row as with any putting drills you should use a towel to protect the green the second and more effective is to use a string cord suspended between a couple of lman sticks or a couple of tent pegs or a couple of barbecue skewers stretch it out so that it’s nice and Tor again a straight Putt and you can use different lengths for this putting up and down the string line very effective and one of my favorites in getting the pter to line up parallel to the string and you really can see if your line on your putter isn’t matching the string line and the most effective putting alignment tool is a well-designed putting mirror this is the best one on the market this is the propath putting mirror loads of features lots of alignment AIDS AR lines slots for te’s for barriers and of course we can check the position and alignment of our eyes in the mirror if you’d like to purchase yourself a propath putting mirror then we have a 15% offer the link is in the description below we do receive receive a small Commission on all units sold they are one of the best training Aids on the market today now watch this video next that’s all about how to use all of the different features of the propath putting mirror and there we have a free training guide from the notes and images from today’s lesson thank you so much for watching we look forward to company next week are you the best golfer you can be [Music]
Great video
As I always say it the understanding of golf ⛳️
Back in the early 80s
We understood nothing as kids
Gave up golf in 2004
Married and lately my wife has taken up the sport
And now with all the technology we have
It’s now understanding the game
Really good to Glen that you people take a percentage from selling
Because you give us free advice
Well Done Glen on putting suggestions! Probably the ball marker and the mirror would work best on muni courses. I have also used a single tee in the ground to putt to. Another thing I try to do is take the putter back inside the ball line, not off the back of the ball. Always look forward to your Aussie Tips Glen!
Great video. Just wondering why you were standing on the towel ?
