Scottie Scheffler is poised for back-to-back victories | 2024

In the third round of the 2024 RBC Heritage, Scottie Scheffler climbed up the leaderboard and took the solo lead with an impressive bogey-free 8-under par 63.

One week after the Masters, the PGA TOUR heads to South Carolina for the RBC Heritage at Harbour Town Golf Links. This is the fifth of eight Signature Events in the season. Scottie Scheffler returns to the field this week, despite being fresh off a victory at the Masters. The world No. 1 has not shot an over-par round all season and has three victories (and one runner-up) so far in 2024. He made his debut at Harbour Town last year and finished T11. Matt Fitzpatrick looks to become the first golfer to go back-to-back at the RBC Heritage since Boo Weekley in 2007-08. Fitzpatrick, a playoff victor last year, has two top-10 finishes this season. He has just one missed cut at Harbour Town over the last six years. Ludvig Åberg will also be in South Carolina this week after his impressive second place finish in his Masters debut. He has four top-10s (including two runner-up results) so far this season and is knocking on the door for a victory. Others to look out for this week are Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, Hideki Matsuyama and Viktor Hovland.

call I’m doing my best to try and
compete out here and um I’ve been
playing some good golf the streak really
doesn’t matter to me very much um it’s
all about you know trying to get some
rest and get ready for tomorrow playing
some good golf might be an
understatement you said yesterday after
you were 65 you felt like it could have
been better are you happy with the 63
yeah yeah I played really nice today I
made some nice PS I hit a lot of good
shots I felt like I really maybe only
had to get up and down for par once
today outside of that I think I I gave
myself a lot of looks and was able to
make some of them I know this might come
as a surprise but what you’re doing
right now is pretty unrelatable for
almost every single viewer at home can
you explain what it’s like to win The
Masters come here be world number one
have the fans celebrating you on every
single hole and continue to play some of
the best golf we have ever seen yeah I
think you know I I tried to get as much
rest as I could the last couple days at
home or sorry the beginning of the week
at home and then um playing here this
week yeah the fans have been great it’s
been awesome to get their support and um
you know you asked me how I’m feeling
and right now I’m feeling tired but I
didn’t feel tired out there once today
and so you know the fans were giving me
some energy and um yeah it was a lot of
fun out there I’m sure you weren’t tired
when you flew home to celebrate with all
of your people as well tell us a little
bit what you can about that celebration
being able to hug your wife and just
yeah just celebrate everything you’ve
accomplished yeah it was awesome getting
home on uh Sunday night was pretty fun
we got home pretty late and so it was uh
there was only a few people there at the
airport but it was it was tremendous it
was great getting to get home and hug
Meredith and celebrate Monday and
Tuesday but um you know got back to work
Tuesday night coming here and you know
uh I’ll be home for the next few weeks
and so we’ll do we’ll do something just
us two and you know maybe get some
friends together but who knows awesome
well this has been an incredible streak
to watch we appreciate the time good
