okay
everybody let’s welcome our CEO and
Commissioner of Liv Golf League Greg
Norman let’s welcome the captain of
Legion 13 John ROM and the premier of
South Australia welcome guys so Premiere
we are a year back from last year’s
Adelaide where we won world’s best golf
event what do we have to do this year to
top
it well I think hunters and people will
look after it um the thing about this
event last year there was an awful
amount of work that went in from the
state government and the Liv team to put
all the infrastructure in place uh make
sure we promote the event um as best as
possible but ultimately it was fans that
brought this event to life it was people
and we always took a a calculated risk
uh as a government that you know
Australian golf fans had been starved of
high quality professional golf for
decades
I mean there’s a generation of golf fans
in this country that never seen Elite
golf before and we took a bit of a hunch
that people would want respond to the
opportunity to see the world’s best
golfers here in South Australia and they
responded in droves so what I think will
take this event to another level uh this
year is that there are a lot more people
here we’ve increased the capacity of the
facilities here at Grange a lot more
passes have been able to be sold as a
result of it and I think that is going
to add a whole other level of atmosphere
over the course of the 3 days critically
from the state government’s perspective
it’s on track to meet all the economic
metrics that we care so much about
particularly overseas and Interstate
visitation um and that’s given the city
a real Buzz and uh you feel that walking
around and I suspect as we get closer to
the event that will only increase John
you’re making your debut here uh live
golf Adelaide I know you’ve heard a lot
about it from the other players and just
wondering what your expectations are for
this
week my my expectations of of the
tournament or myself tournament okay uh
well yeah it’s uh it’s definitely one of
those dates that when when the season
started it was highlighted because of
how highly everybody spoke of the
tournament right there was no no
negatives great City Great Golf Course
great fans emphasize on great fans and
obviously I think uh everybody who
watches Golf and some people that don’t
watch golf have seen the images of of
the watering hole which I thought it was
a lot
shorter I don’t know it’s a lot harder
of a hole than that I ever pictured to
be honest to have that many people right
is you’re going to do a stadium maybe
give us a bit shorter of a hole so the
chances of making it a little bit higher
but it’s still it’s still a sight to see
that’s absolutely incredible so uh I’m
really excited to be here I’ve seen the
golf course a little bit and and you
know I can see why everybody was raving
about it if if we don’t get a lot of
wind or for any rain which it doesn’t
look like it it can get really firm and
fast and and make it a really
entertaining event not only for us but
for everybody watching Greg you are an
Aussie through and through how much does
it mean to you to bring really the best
golf event that’s ever been to Australia
and you’ve really spearheaded this
initiative yeah thank you and uh good
morning everybody um well that was one
of my initiatives when I was asked to
come on board as CEO and Commissioner of
Liv um I knew the value of Australia uh
what austral can represent to the game
of golf and what a stray it lacked and
the premier hit the nail on the head
basically the fans spoke uh in droves
last year they continued to speak this
year so to be able to bring the quality
of John Ram plus 53 other guys down here
for the Australians to experience was
meaningful for me because I came down
here was my mission every year as a
player to bring back my skills to show
Australia to grow austral Australian
golf the best way I possibly could but
that was with 14 clubs in the bag and
what I did on the golf course to be able
to do it here with the impact that we’ve
had not only on the golf course with the
players commercially as well uh
economically the economic impact that
we’ve bought to Adelaide and the premier
touched on that again those are the
things that people don’t really speak
about very much but we as a team working
with satc see the value of what we’ve
delivered here um is just incredible and
as we look into the future future you
know we last year was one this is number
two and then we keep building on top of
that making it better and better better
so very very proud of it um proud of my
country proud of what we delivered proud
of what the boys like John was just
saying now about you know the excitement
about coming down here because of what
they’ve heard about what happened in Liv
Adelaide last year and and be honest
with you uh this event here from last
year to this year is The Benchmark full
live um we get all the other uh events
13 events around the world to take a
look at what we’ve delivered here and
what adela’s delivered and what the
state government’s delivered and what
the local community and the regions to
live and you go it can be done here it
is let’s work together Premier uh
adela’s really in South Australia on the
global stage this week we’ve had the
players go and visit some of the
incredible places in South Australia
they’ve been to Kangaroo Island they’ve
been to the bend Cleveland Wildlife Park
wineries how important is it to have
this global platform for South Australia
and
adelade it’s really important um we made
a deliberate policy decision as a
government some time ago to look for
opportunities to invest in major events
uh to try and put South austral and
Adelaide on the map in a way that we
haven’t necessarily been in the past uh
live we saw as a big opportunity um here
is a breakthrough event a breakthrough
tournament um and we’re a state that’s
seeking to break through and and we’ve
got some runs on the board at the moment
um the economic impact is often the
focus you know filling hotel rooms
putting bums on seats on planes having
our restaurants full
that’s where lots of the focus goes and
for good reason and because we can
measure that but the real power with
these events comes from having the
international media and the national
media all training their focus on our
city and our state and that gives us an
opportunity to tell our story story and
not just the tourist story but also the
story about the Commonwealth Bank just a
couple of days ago ranked the South
Australian economy as the number one
performing in the country for the second
quarter in a row a status that we’ve
never had before in the history of the
State uh amongst other really strong
economic credentials and it gives us an
opportunity to engage that’s certainly
what I’ll be doing at every opportunity
I get um and the platform that an
international event of this caliber
provides you know is exceptionally
powerful um more powerful than the
immediate transactional benefit and
that’s what we
appreciate um we said from the outgo and
when I was uh making my pitch um to Greg
that we should Host this is that what
Liv will get from the south Australian
government and the South Australian
people is a a sense that this tournament
takes over the town and the state it
really provides an atmosphere that you
might not get in a in a a bigger city or
a bigger po bit bigger state so I think
we’ve honored that commitment and I
think there’s there’s doubters about
that they need only to walk the course
over the course of the weekend and
they’ll know otherwise I know there’s
lots of people with lots of questions
I’m going to hand it over to the media
we’ll start with Evan priest with Golf
Digest uh qu question for Greg um
obviously Liv Adelaide has set the
blueprint for what Liv wants to be and
should be um and the proof is in the
pudding how do you sort of recreate
Adelaide around the other 13 markets
yeah that’s a great question Evan look
every Market’s different because we got
to look at the different cultures that
we work with but when you look at the
three specific things you have
entertainment and you have Golf and you
have culture right so if you take those
three ingredients everywhere you go in
the world you’ll be able to figure out
the right way to to inject a live event
somewhere uh we as a team look at that
all the time culture is very very
important for us we we use this as The
Benchmark saying look how we’ve dealt
with the local culture within adate
within South Australia and then in mols
out into the country so um everywhere we
go we study that um little different in
the United States because the United
States obviously has a tour there that’s
existing but I can tell you in the one
year that we’ve gone through even the
United States now there’s different
markets there that go oh we haven’t had
a PGA Tour event we would love to have
one there because of what you can
deliver and like I said in the beginning
we we bring everything to the table from
the players to the production to the
event so we can move it to a place and
just make the adjustments we need to
make from a marketing perspective to
suit the culture to suit what the state
government might be doing some other
place and and it works and you know it’s
hard to imagine we are basically less
than one and a half years into it this
thing and the impact that we’ve had on a
global basis um you can talk about
Adelaide you can talk about the United
States you can talk about valder in
Spain you can talk about the the impact
that we’ve had on in such a short period
of time has been extremely powerful and
one of the things that I’m most proud of
and is the fact that what we’ve done to
the game of golf and how golf is looked
on as an asset class and if it wasn’t
for live this additional investment
dollars going to the game into the sport
would never have happened so very very
proud of that these guys are very much
part of all that uh because they’ have
seen the value of what we can deliver
and they see the long value of what they
will have um in ownership in their teams
as well U wanted to follow up and John
it’s obviously hard to ask you about
Adelaide because because you weren’t
here last year but but I’d ask that um
outside of the majors what what events
do you most look forward to like what
type of event do you most like playing
and why like what what excites you the
the most outside the
majors that’s yeah I mean that’s
extremely subjective to the player right
I think
um there’s a few things that make a
tournament special for somebody uh could
be Golf Course the design the the
history of the tournament and just
simply you having performed properly
there um in my case I usually go based
on atmosphere right that’s why Phoenix
Open has been something that’s really
interesting for me right that’s why San
Diego in the past for people I mean it’s
an atmosphere that’s incredible coming
down the stretch uh why I keep going
back to Spain as often as I can just
simply because the atmosphere I
experienc there is incredible right uh
and uh the reason why this event is as
popular as it’s been right uh no matter
what the golf course on the golf is or
the weather conditions are when the
people show up and they they’re more
excited than you are to be here is what
makes the tournament so great is what
happens in Majors is what happens in rup
right it’s not really us it’s not really
the golf is the spectators who come and
support the game and want to be there so
badly that’s that’s what makes it
something that’s really enticing for me
to go and perform because at the end of
the day were entertainers um just just
one more for me Greg you’re at the
Masters last week um I don’t think
anyone asked you just what what was it
like being back as a former pro and and
a golf fan just I saw you on 11 Green
sadly near the uh 198 chip in but U
besides that what were the golf memories
like being back there it was phenomenal
to be honest with you I went there
specifically to support the boys um I
wanted them to know that I was there for
that reason so I tried to get around to
shake hands with each and every one of
them to wish him the best um to walk
with the patrons I’ve never done that
before in my life anywhere in the world
I I think I walk one play off uh here in
Australia when a my friend of mine was
in the Australian Masters I walked with
his family uh the Loff hole but um it
was incredible um the support the
recognition the comments were made it
was almost unanimous for three straight
days um walking around with people I had
people with me um so I have do have
witnesses to the fact that that’s what
it was and uh it was just to see it to
hear it and to hear what the comments
they made about you know what’s
happening to the game of golf and the
good that live is brought to the game of
golf 12 you know it was very very strong
for me it was a very powerful three days
and I must admit um Wednesday when I was
going out there I did leave the house
with trepidation because I didn’t know
what to expect um because I have a lot
of great friends at Augusta National
I’ve got a lot of history at Augusta
National um I just didn’t know what to
expect so uh my first hour walking
around I went I just relaxed and had a
great time that that trepidation um once
you got there felt a lot better about it
did that sort of tell you that maybe the
average golf Fan’s opinion is far
different to the media and maybe some of
the criticism around live a
th% yeah okay over
there someone have a mic on this side
over
here thanks Steve lck and Australian
Associated Press Greg just flowing on
from that big big picture where where is
living the PGA at it’s been 10 10 and a
bit months since the framework agreement
um was announced but yeah do you have
any any insights that you can offer as
to the process of of what’s going on I
I’d love to give you Insight but I don’t
have any um we at live are totally
separate to that uh part of the
negotiation we at Liv are a standalone
company being in invested by the same
invester interested in the game of golf
now this goes back 10 minutes ago what I
said
excuse me what I said to Evan was um
investment dollars are flowing into the
game of gol for the right reasons not
for the wrong reasons our investor came
to want to invest in to live because he
loved the opportunity of the franchise
model what he could do with it and how
we could build it out on a global flat
platform so me specifically I don’t know
what’s going on over there I really
don’t want to know what’s going on over
there because we are so fixated on
growing and developing and building out
what live is today and looking doing our
schedule for 2025 and going into 2026
our responsibility is to look after our
people our
players excuse me and the and where we
want to go so I don’t have an ader and
just a quick one John from your
experience at the Masters what is there
an impatience among the playing cohort I
guess to have this resolved in in some
way I I really don’t know
um there’s a lot of unknowns I think on
everybody’s side right and uh the people
that are very smart and are behind this
are trying to figure out what’s the best
for golf but I
uh I haven’t spoken to enough players on
the PG tour to know what their what
their position is to be honest so I I
don’t know if it’s impatience or just
lack of knowledge in general uh but I
think we all want to see this resolved
right we all want to see this resolved
and and like I’ve said many times we
have the opportunity to take golf to the
next level in the global market and I
think done properly we can end up with a
better product for everybody and put in
golf and as a bigger product in general
as a worldwide
sport over
there hi John I’m M clear from golf
Australia magazine um as a player um
what would a perfect schedule look for
you
um if if the two parties do come
together you have a merger or framework
agreement or whatever as a player would
it be 14 Live Events half a dozen pgaas
the majors ride a cup what if you were
telling the people making these
decisions what would a perfect one look
like to
you I don’t
know
H that hasn’t really presented itself
yet right so I don’t know uh I say right
now obviously it’s 14 Liv events that I
want to play so that majors
ride a cup for sure uh and then after
that yeah there’s some PJ tour events
that if it’s not conflicting with my my
LIF schedule I will have to go play I
I’ve said it numerous times and I’ll say
it again uh Palm Springs Tory Pines uh
Phoenix La if allowed to be able to play
players right those are events that if I
could I would like to play so I’m no
stranger to play in 23 24 events a year
with uh in the past especially with my
pj tour schedule and DP World Tour
schedule so um yeah I mean I would be up
to play and I’ll still try to go play
the Spanish open or what event I can in
Spain as well uh that that’s just uh
what I want to do it’s
um again if given the opportunity I
would try to play as many as I can
within right within the means I would
still want to still want to perform at
the right times and perform at the right
tournaments thanks Che okay over here uh
thank you Rory from ABC News to you Greg
um do you see the tournament in Adelaide
being the only Australian tournament you
have on the Liv schedule not only over
the next two years but into the future
beyond that uh yes I do actually um I
don’t mind saying this we’re working
very closely uh with the premier and his
team um they’ have their viewpoints and
about what they would like to see going
into the future and it’s all around
about the the partnership that we’ve
created uh we have created a true
partnership uh We’ve touched on a few of
those points and the data points that
we’re pulling out of here so as we sit
here and we negotiate and every day is
really a negotiation be honest with you
and no matter just what our uh uh
relationship is like but everything we
do for the event is a negotiate how do
we improve on it how do we get better
how do we look into the future how do we
invest into the future not only through
vik but dollars and how do we you know
we’re sold out here basically except a
few tickets on Friday and maybe a little
bit of hospitality so when you think
about where we are today compared to our
goals of coming out of end last year
we’ve reached those so our goal is to
make sure we work in a very close
collaborative effort into long-term
Vision about what we can do here in this
country um has there been interest from
other states yes absolutely there’s been
interest in other states but we were in
South Australia first the premere took
it on and responsibility of taking on um
live and right from the outset not too
sure about the result and now because
he’s done that and because South
Australia’s done that we’ve got to look
at that into the future as well too I
just get the premier’s response to that
and and your take on the fact that it’s
here it’s Adelaide and it’s nowhere else
in Australia does that give you
confidence to put even more money into
this event if required going into the
future look we’ve got a an existing
agreement with Liv which we’re very
grateful for which has another couple of
tournaments after this one uh Greg’s
right I mean in the in the same way that
we’ve got the challenge with
around uh South Australia took the first
mover risk but that brings with it the
first mover advantage and other people
have seen the success we’ve been able to
create now they want a piece of it
that’s life right uh what you have to do
has been has been willing to invest the
effort and the energy to make sure that
we make it impossible for someone to
want to go elsewhere and the way we do
that is to make this event Elite we want
to make sure that the the the
commissioner and all his investors and
sponsors we want to make sure that the
players they don’t want to play anywhere
else but adelade so far I think we’re
ticking that box but most critically
we’ve got to make sure that the fans
view is heard and they are speaking with
their feet they’re speaking with their
hip pockets and they’re choosing to not
just go to the event in Adelaide but
travel to Adelaide to experience the
event and if we’ve got to earn that
right we’ve got to earn that privilege
and that’s what we’re committed to so we
don’t rest in our Laurels we don’t see
the the event success last year and
think well that’s done and dusted we’re
going to continue to evolve we’re going
to continue to adapt and that’s where
the partnership matters um that’s where
the state government’s got to look at
things that we can do um that aren’t and
that’s not necessarily just putting more
money in um there are other things that
we can do but is also working
collaboratively with Liv to give this
event all of the life that it has but
also all of the potential to be realized
and that’s what we’re all about
good day o h from Channel 9 um similar
to what you both were just saying just
then to Greg and the premier um with
Adelaide being here you know for the for
the years to come how do you see live
golf here in Adelaide evolving obviously
we’ve already seen the watering hole
expand this year um you know can you
give South Australians I guess a bit of
a glimpse into how it will look in the
years to
come more
people um effectively every time we
tickets have gone online for sale they
get
sold and uh last year and I I’ve made no
secret about this um you know last year
the tickets were capped we would love to
have seen that increased as we saw the
demand reveal itself with people
purchasing tickets but live to their
credit um decided to put the Fan
Experience first over and above the
immediate commercial opportunity to make
sure that well this is the first event
last year we want patrons to have an an
exceptional experience so they come back
next year uh and tickets more tickets
weren’t sold having experienced the
event last year and learning how the
course functions with that volume of
people this year there has been an
increase in the investment in
infrastructure last year there were four
viewing platforms this year like four
General emission viewing platforms this
year there’s 14 uh there’s a lot more
food and beverage facilities lot more
toileting facilities uh lot more more
fan engagement experience facilities to
allow the capacity to grow and of course
what that means is for people like John
more people more atmosphere everything
goes up a notch so we can continue to
evolve around that but then there’s also
what happens off site from Grange and
that’s where the government does have a
degree of responsibility making sure
that interstate and overseas Travelers
are able to experience with the greatest
of ease all the experiences that we
offer within an hour’s Drive of where we
are now who Wineries bruss and McLaren
Val so investing in those efforts will
see the event expand into the future
yeah from Li’s perspective I’ll I’ll
answer my my side of it um we brought on
a new guy excuse me head of events a guy
called Ross howlet um had 27 years
experience of uh doing events for IMG
around the world just in our first day
or two of him being on the ground here
the thought process of just answering
your question what we can do into next
year in the following years he’s already
on that I’m not going to tell you what
they are from our perspective but we’re
already starting to think about that
from an internal perspective how do we
become better how do we do this little
things for example here looking back at
last year getting people off the golf
course before dark or during the dark uh
we only had I think 16 or 18 Mobile
lights this year we have 64 so we’re
making the whole process a lot easier
and a lot smoother and a lot more
seamless because of what the premier is
saying we having more and more people
the more and more people you have you
want them to enjoy it and walk away with
a better experience than last year and
those are the little things that we look
at and improve on each and every every
event even each and every
day thanks um Martin Perry from ofp just
for John and Greg um John you were
quoted by the BBC last week saying you’d
like to see the tour go to 72 holes can
you just elaborate a little bit on why
you’d like to see that and for Greg is
that likely to happen if so when and if
if it’s not likely to happen why
not I
think there’s a level of comfort when I
say that because it’s a little bit more
of what we’re used to seeing in golf
right and I came to this realization and
I think it it could
help a lot of fans
trust and live a little bit more because
that’s a lot of the complaint that I see
from a lot of people but I made the
analogy a little bit ago of why I think
we can end up with a great product how
in in football European football right
you have the Premier League you have the
Spanish league you have the the German
league you have Ser right you have U the
the Champions League the Europe Cup you
have many other things the one thing I
realized is they all play Under the same
set of rules right while we play Under
most set of rules the one keep
difference is 72 holes right uh the only
sport that I see that’s it a little bit
different to where they play pretty much
the same and then the Grand Slams are
different there’s tennis but even within
then every tournament or every
Championship is the same set of rules
right so that’s one of the main reasons
why I believe he could help us but at
the end of the
day live is a business if he doesn’t fit
the product it doesn’t fit the product
I’m just a player right there a lot of
people that are a lot smarter than me
that can figure it out and explain why
they believe 504 holes may be better for
them um I can tell you from player
experience and I tell the people that
that give me that argument if you come
watch an event You Forget by Sunday that
you’ve only played three rounds it makes
no difference you’re competing to win
you win or you don’t win and by the end
of the day if I told you oh it was 50 or
four holes you really don’t think about
it because you inversed you just
immersed in the competition right and uh
the competition is the same you w going
down the stretch with a one or two shot
lead or one two shot deficit the
feelings are all the same right so uh I
that would be also my counterargument to
that if you haven’t experienced it and
haven’t given it a chance it’s not fair
to judge without
knowing Greg what’s your response to
that I think from uh Liz perspective
we’re very open-minded about it but you
got to understand there economic impact
about um putting television on for 72
holes uh right now John’s John hits a
nail on the head uh there’s no when you
tee up on Friday it’s a Sprint to the
end it’s there’s no warm-up time period
to get you if you have Thursday I’m
talking about from a player’s
perspective now sometimes you can have
have an average first round and then you
come back and shoot a 64 and get
yourself back into it now you’re into
into into the weekend if you really
don’t play well on Friday here you have
a hard time because the quality of play
here is so
you know when you tear it off and you’ll
speak to most of the guys out there it’s
a question you should ask them it is the
intense pressure on it straight away
because you have to perform immediately
right off the bat um so it’s a great
conversation to have uh we will continue
to have that conversation going forward
but we sit back and say what value do we
get on putting on television on Thursday
now go to Evans how do we build out in
the future how do we get more people as
the premier says um to the golf course
maybe it is Thursday and you allow
another 30,000 people coming in on a
Thursday there are things that we sit
back and look at to see what is the most
optimal solution to make this a better
and better and better event and uh 72
holes is discussed Ju Just One More to
Greg um there was a there was a report
last week that uh Rory Mel Rory had been
offered 850 million to join Liv he seems
to have shot that down and committed
himself to the PGA tour again um have
you or Liv ever put an offer on the
table for Rory and uh you know despite
his criticism of of live would you
welcome him to the tour still look I’ll
make the comment if you look back over
that time period of that dialogue that
was going place there wasn’t one comment
about Liv so Liv never put an offer to
him uh we didn’t need to make a comment
about this this is just typical white
noise that gets out there in the
industry if Rory was willing to sit down
and have a conversation with us would we
be happy to sit down with him 100% no
different than any other player who’d be
interested in coming on playing with us
it’s understanding the
facts about what live represents and
what live can deliver on a global basis
that’s up to you to determine it I mean
I’ve sat down with one top top PGA toour
player in his house with another member
of my team walked me through the whole
process and he was so impressed he said
well that’s not what we’re told in the
locker
room right and this is really impressive
but he made the decision he called me up
two days later he said I’ve decided to
stay where I’m at I said Happy Days you
made a decision on fact and if you’re
happier over here fine stay there your
door is always open if you want to come
back and have a conversation with us
happy to do that think there’s one over
here
hey guys Steve from the watering o
podcast just want to welcome you to
Adelaide firstly a Premier Well Done um
bit of a lighthearted this is the most
important meteor Outlet in the country
right now so you’ve got it you got it
the uh the Ripper GC guys were just up
on stage and they talked about how
nervous they were as the hometown Lads
pretty much to to hit the shot on the
12th Lucas Herbert talked about how
nervous he was to pick the right
Watering Hole song John what are you
more nervous for the watering song to
hop up the crowd to get the I so it
actually take the first uh shot on the
12 so there’s a lot of conversation from
a lot of people about what song we’ve
picked apparently it’s a big deal I was
not aware of that I uh I’m going to have
to think about what I want but yesterday
while while I was playing with Terell
Kieran and and David Pooch everybody was
talking about oh I’ve picked this song
or I’ve picked that song I just I don’t
know I’m playing golf it’s not like my
mind is that focused on on what song I’m
going to be playing um
but you know it does help when you have
the positive reinforcement of the song
that you like right you just go in with
a little bit of a different feeling now
in my case it’s a lot easier to pick the
right song to hit a drive as hard as you
can like I said earlier it’s a much
smaller green than I thought so you
probably don’t want to go let’s say too
high on your heart rate right trying to
hit a distance control shot with an
eight or nine iron and a most likely
windy scenario so so uh you’re going to
have to find that balance but definitely
more nervous about the the shot than
than the song I think uh if you just
pick anything up be I think the crowd’s
going to like it no matter what
beautiful and uh Greg I got to know what
what would your song be on the watering
hole if you had to walk out and hype up
the Aussie fans uh you probably all too
young for this but uh ecdc It’s a Long
Way to the
Top very that would be mine um Premier
Greg mentioned before that there’s
constant negotiations every day with
this tournament how assume would you
like to have an agreement in place that
extends this tournament beyond the two
years that currently
exists that’s a good question we’ve got
an agreement that’s in place and it’s
going to be in place for you know the
foreseeable future for another couple
years yet are we open-minded to uh
extending that agreement reshaping that
agreement absolutely but of course we’ll
only be doing that if we believe it’s
consistent with the best interest of the
state and that’s ultimately what’s got
to inform our judgments uh as of course
it’s got to inform le’ judgments about
what’s in the best interest of golf and
live more broadly so but we we’re
certainly open-minded we’re certainly
Keen to engage uh because uh we think
that this event is rapidly becoming uh
part of you know the economic story of
the State uh or gives a gives us a
powerful platform as I mentioned earlier
so we we’re pretty open-minded about it
great well thank you guys so much for
the time this morning and we are so
excited for this week thank you for
hosting us Premiere and looking forward
to your performance on course John thank
you much everybody thanks

  1. I read on the Internet that the reason all these big name pros came over to LIV was because they're scared of Scottie…..is that true???? It must be…I sent it on the Internet.

  2. 54 holes is an ideal number because of the shot-gun starts . PGATour "needs" 2 rounds to make a "fair" cut down to the best 54 players or so. Fair how? Weather effects for early versus late starters. Most pros would take late-early but even then if weather delays arise, chaos ensues. A shot-gun start means every player plays under the same conditions at the same time. No need for a "cut" because the first round is part of team team play (They could even change the team totals to 4-3-2 or 2-3-4 and it would add a totally different aspect to the competition). LIV has a better and winning formula but should not be afraid to continue to innovate and improve.

  3. I wondered if other Australian cities would have LIV after the ridiculous success of the Adelaide tournament. It seems to me that Australian fans are the best in the world, they really know how to embrace an event and enjoy it.

  4. Professionalism of these gentlemen is why LIV will be successful. No wining, no complaining. It’s all about current and future fans around the world!

Great to see so much excitement down under!

  5. When will LIV Golf be coming to South Africa?
It’s overdue as South Africa have a prominent LIV team (Stinger) and have produced many Major champions and hundreds of tour wins around the world.
South Africa also have some of the most beautiful golf courses in the world, and the country has more to offer than any of the places around the globe.

  6. 1. changing to 72holes to please jon rahm(modern day sergio) or to gain world ranking points won't attract traditional PGA tour viewers. at the same time you'll lose viewers and fans who likes the current LIV format. Solution is to create LIV world rankings and create ur own majors with 72holes/cut, 30mill+ purse, top 50PGA gets an invite, top 25 DP tour gets an invite and all LIV players gets an invite.

    2. offer rory 800mill contract as rumor suggested to put pga onto a corner, it would be a final nail in the coffin

  7. With the pga announcing massive player bonuses liv has one option, go to 72 holes for player ranking points or every player on the terrorist tour will just play into obscurity. The guys that don't have major wins will never get them and the terrorist tour won't be able to steal the major winners anymore. Personally the pga tour should just let the players that jumped rot.

  8. As an American, I can’t tell you how much I was impressed with the Australian fans at this event last year. To know it’s going to be bigger and better really makes this the event the one I’ve anticipated more than any this year, even the Masters. I hope that 2025 brings multiple tournaments to your country.

  9. This Adelaide / LIv relationship is special. As much as I want to see LIv move around, I also want to see an event like this grow and grow. I’m just so impressed.
LIv needs to stay resolute on 54 holes. IMHO.
I want Thursdays for team match play matches, like actual league matches.
It could be very official but in a loose fashion where players can even practice like in a practice round (since match play allows practice).
Those days would be huge money makers especially at a place like Adelaide.
I think you can’t have enough team match play and anything team to kind of grow that side of LIv.

  10. SA premier is a highly impressive individual. He speaks so well and has done a magnificent job bringing elite golf back to Australia and South Australia

  11. LIV treats Golf like F1 … Unlike the PGA who treat Golf like NASCAR.

I’d love to see two stops in Australia, 2 stops in Africa, 3 stops in Asia, 2 stops in India and the obligatory stops in Europe and the US

GROW GLOBAL GOLF . Go LIV!!!

  12. LIV needs to take the PGA out at the knees : actively and aggressively pursue the brightest and youngest talent. Do that for the next five years in a row. Grab all the very best up-and-coming and watch the PGA Tour die as Justin Thomas walks around with a walker, and Jordan Spieth uses a cane… play hardball.

This is what it took for the NHL to expand from the original six teams to what now is a a flourishing 30 teams. The WHA had to get aggressive in order to shake the power. LIV needs to get ruthless.

And for all you haters, you can thank LIV for the PGA’s elevated events, the base salary that PGA players now get and the most recent half baked concocted equity strategy. All because of LIV

Funny how when challenged with competition everyone wins. .. well everyone excepted this case the American golfing, consumer who’s watching tournaments with a couple of stars.
