  1. I’ve been a Laker fan for 40+ years. Not sure when I started appreciating Larry Bird because I used to despise him when he was the opponent. These days, I find him to be one of my all-time favorite players. I love the guy more than Magic. How did that happen? Dude is a legend.

  2. Rodman wasn't being sarcastic, and neither was Isaiah. They were hurt that they lost, so they lashed out–race was easy pickin', and they fell for that trap. Most likely at some level they felt that Bird got more attention and MVPs than he should because of his race (the 3 straight was the first since Russell back in the 1960s), and I think they'd be dishonest if they didn't feel that race did play a role, maybe not a big role, but some role in the media celebrating Larry at the time as GOAT (just as later on when Jordan was feted the same way–remember how Thomas and the Pistons treated HIM?). In reality, it's a consistent pattern with Isaiah feeling envious of another player greater than he was (even though he was great himself) and then lashing out against them when he had the chance–Bird, Magic, and Jordan.
As to their reactions: Larry obviously didn't care…Magic was hurt and estranged from Isaiah for a long time…and Jordan still hates him. 🙂

  3. In college Reggie Miller's GF was friends with my GF so I got to meet him a few times, do things, he was a class act

  4. I teared up just watching this episode…Reggie, isiah and Larry. Once…. they were KINGS. Great video… keep rockin.

  5. With the type of player zeke was you would never expect him to be this kind of a person..zeke is always the diplomatic and calm type.

  6. Three of my favorite players to watch. Indiana University BA 1988. Isaiah did his thing just before I got there and before I was into college basketball. Alford was a freshman and Knight had a losing record. They won it all in 1987 and I saw the basketball team in our dorm cafeteria all the time.

  7. It is quite remarkable to consider that if Reggie were playing in today's NBA, he would likely be a strong contender for the Most Valuable Player award. However, during the 1980s and 1990s, he was slightly inferior to the exceptional players of that era.

  8. Bird is a basketball God, the man won MVP, finals MVP, COY, executive of the year… I mean, on a pure basketball standpoint, mastered the sport in every way, imo Bird is the greatest ever

  9. 18:16 Bill Walton reaction is so relatable, lol the guy was witnessing a legendary player predicting 2 plays ahead as usual, you gotta be mesmerized by Bird, such a basketball genius

  10. this was awesome…i was born in Massachusetts in 1973 so I was in my sports fandom peek when Larry was in his prime…my parents used to turn the sound off on the TV and listen to Johnny Most on the play by play while watching it on the TV…it's not synched up anymore…great childhood memories

  11. I watched Bob cousy and wilt the stilt play back in the day. Larry Bird is the greatest who ever played the game!

  12. 45:00 I love how just minutes after Larry saying essentially you can’t compare eras in the sense of being it’s not fair to do so, you have Isaiah (who’s never been humble) saying he’s in the Top 4 of PG all time and a highlight reel plays of Jokic traveling in each clip 😂
