On March 20 and 21, the semifinal matches of the men’s volleyball Champions League took place. The teams that lost the first matches tried to come out on top in their home confrontations. Unfortunately, both meetings ended with reserve line-ups. First, Jastrzębski, despite fierce resistance from Ziraat in the first two sets, managed

To come out on top, 32:34 and 25:27, respectively, even with Matt Anderson returning to the lineup. This guaranteed them a spot in their second consecutive Champions League final. The match ended with a score of 2:3 in favor of the Polish team.

Then, Trentino joined the list of finalists, claiming the second and third set of the away match against Lube Civitanova. So, in this semifinal too, we saw reserve line-ups, with the hosts ultimately succeeding, 3:2. Not the most fortunate scenario for this stage.

For Trentino, this marks their third final appearance in the last four years. The final match will take place on May 5 in Antalya, despite initially being planned for May 4 in Istanbul. However, since no local teams made it to the finals of both the men’s and women’s Champions

League, the president of the Turkish volleyball federation decided to scale down the event slightly. If Jastrzębski wins the final, the Polish PlusLiga will rightfully be considered the strongest in Europe, having taken 2 out of 3 of the old continent’s most prestigious club trophies.

First, Projekt Warszawa took home the Challenge Cup, and on March 19, Resovia joined the list of victors, convincingly winning the two-match confrontation against Germany’s Lüneburg. At home, Resovia once again secured a clean victory and rightfully lifted the CEV Cup.

Now, speaking of venues for upcoming events, let’s also touch on the news about the country that will host the men’s World Championship. That country will be the Philippines. What are your thoughts on this? Be sure to share your opinion in the comments below. Meanwhile, in Japan’s Championship, the finalists have been decided.

First, in the quarterfinals, the Arrows were stronger than the Wolfdogs in five sets. Unfortunately for Nagoya, Bartosz Kurek could not participate in the match, which undoubtedly affected the outcome. Then, Aaron Russell’s Thunders managed to defeat Shannon Vernon-Evans’ Blazers with a score of 3:1.

The winners of these pairs went on to face the Sunbirds and the Panthers, who were waiting for them in the semifinals. Both favorites secured convincing victories, so they will meet in the final on March 31. A more detailed review of all these matches will be available on the channel soon.

On March 30, matches for 5th place between the Wolfdogs and the Blazers and for 3rd place between the Thunders and the Arrows will take place. In Italy’s Superlega, the playoff stage continues, where all the semifinalists could have been determined. However, we did not get to know them in the Sunday matches.

First, Lube Civitanova managed to break the fierce resistance of Monza in five sets, thus leveling the series at 2:2. Then, Milan achieved the same feat, coming back from 0:2 in sets against Piacenza. The fourth matches turned out to be masterpieces. The decisive matches of these series will take place on March 27.

In Russia’s Superliga, the regular championship ended, and the first playoff matches began, where in a two-match confrontation, 8 teams had to fight for the last quarterfinal spots. Dynamo from Leningrad region was stronger than Fakel, Nova lost at home to Kuzbass, Zenit from Saint Petersburg confidently defeated Gazprom-Yugra, and Yenisei at home broke the

Resistance of Shakhter. The return matches were supposed to take place on March 23 and 24, but due to a tragic situation in the Moscow region, the matches were postponed to March 27. The rest of the knockout schedule will be published later.

In this situation, first and foremost, we want to express our heartfelt condolences to all those affected by the terrorist attack, as well as their families and loved ones. Secondly, if you haven’t visited your relatives and loved ones for a long time, be sure to do so as soon as possible.

When was the last time you approached your loved ones and expressed your love? Life is extremely unpredictable, and you should not postpone important things for later. I urge you to take care of yourself and your loved ones. Wishing everyone well.

In Turkey, the regular championship has concluded, and in the final series of battles, we witnessed two matches between the tournament leaders. First, Ziraat and Galatasaray faced off. Despite the hosts confidently taking the first set, they gave away the next three without much fight.

The match between Fenerbahçe and Halkbank turned out to be much more interesting, where the hosts managed to break the incredible winning streak of Nimir and company, preventing Halkbank from finishing the regular season undefeated. Here is the current tournament table.

The top four teams will compete for the medals of the Efeler League, while the next four will determine the final positions from fifth to eighth place. This week, the semifinals and the final of the Turkish Cup will take place.

On March 26, Ziraat and Arkas Spor will compete for the first ticket to the final, and then Halkbank and Fenerbahçe will clash face to face again. The winners of these confrontations will play in the final on March 27. Let me remind you that Halkbank is the current holder of the Turkish Cup.

In Poland’s PlusLiga, the regular championship continues. The battle for playoff spots is becoming fiercer. After a tough victory over Gdańsk, Stal moved up to the 7th place in the table. Olsztyn, despite losing to Lublin, still managed to add a crucial point to their tally.

However, Skra significantly complicated its task for the three rounds remaining until the end of the regular championship, first losing an away match of the 23rd round to Warsaw, and then losing to Aluron. Now they are four points away from the playoff zone. The current PlusLiga standings look like this.

ZAKSA is outside the playoff zone, but they will have a match against Warsaw today. With a victory, they can move up to the 7th place. In contrast, their opponent, with their own success, could reclaim the second position in the tournament table. Who do you think will be stronger in this matchup?

Write your thoughts in the comments. Now, let’s traditionally talk about the most interesting transfer market news and more. The most unexpected transfer of the current offseason could be Ervin Ngapeth’s move to Lokomotiv Novosibirsk. Honestly, I couldn’t have imagined this scenario, but according to statements from authoritative sources, it’s almost a done deal.

How do you assess the upcoming return of the Tokyo Olympics MVP to Russia? I’m very keen to hear your opinions. Igor Kobzar, who hasn’t been able to fully establish himself in Zenit, will also try his luck in a new club now that a vacancy for a setter has opened up in Lokomotiv.

The current setter of Lokomotiv, Konstantin Abaev, as we mentioned earlier, is heading to Italy, but now the conversation is not about Monza but about Verona, which, in my opinion, looks like a more interesting option for the Russian. Wilfredo Leon has also decided on his new club, and with a high probability, the Cuban

With Polish citizenship will move to Lublin. Representatives of this club claim that the contract has already been signed. The choice for the outside hitter was obvious because he was offered the most lucrative contract here, while Turkish clubs couldn’t offer significantly more money to deter Wilfredo from moving to Poland.

Several teams from Turkey showed serious interest in the 30-year-old player. The legendary German opposite, Georg Grozer, will continue his performance in the Turkish championship, staying with Arkas for another season. Matthew Anderson also extended his contract with Ziraat. Apparently, the 36-year-old American plans to make some noise in the Champions League playoffs next year.

Let’s wish him luck. It’s likely that Matthew will continue to play as an outside hitter next season since opposite Wouter ter Maat has also extended his contract with the reigning champion of Turkey. Monza continues to scout talents in the Asian market.

They have set their sights on 18-year-old Korean outside hitter Woo Jin Lee. Rumor has it, the contract with the Italian club will be for 2 years. Piacenza’s head coach, Andrea Anastasi, has extended his contract for the next season. So, regardless of this season’s results, the Italian will remain in his post.

The return of local stars to Japan continues. After a brief tour in Europe, Kento Miyaura will again play for the Stings. This is the club with which the opposite became the Emperor’s Cup champion, but this season they only managed an 8th place finish in the regular V-League championship and failed to

Break into the playoffs. This season, the team’s colors were also defended by Tine Urnaut, who has decided to leave Japan and head to Poland. The last time the Slovenian played in the PlusLiga was back in 2011 with ZAKSA, where

They secured silver medals in the Polish Championship and Cup, as well as the CEV Cup. Now, Urnaut will be joined by opposite Schulz, who is currently defending the colors of Lublin. Well, that’s the scoop on the latest volleyball news.

  1. Leon is only 30 years old!? I really hope to see him back on top, not sure if Lublin is the club for it… awesome news as always Nick, here's hoping you'll review the 5th games of the italian quarter finals!

  2. great video can you make a video ranking the volleyball leagues from around the world I would like to see the top 5 maybe even top 10

  3. I'm honestly quite surprise with Leon moving to Lublin (this club has enough money ?!) and N'Gapeth moving to Russia (more for political reasons, there is tensions with France on a political level, especially with war in Ukraine).

  4. does Philippines hosting the world championships mean their national team will also get a berth?

  5. I don’t understand Ngapeth, did he post that he’s against Russia attacking Ukraine? Then why he’ll playing there. Such a hypocrite player.

  6. These are seriously my favorite videos. Unfortunately, my only way to get news. No one else talks about volleyball out there!
