On Wednesday after being accused of stealing at least $4 and A5 million dollars from Los Angeles Dodgers star uh sh Otani according to ESPN’s Tisha Thompson mahor explained in a lengthy interview that he’ accumulated a hefty gambling debt he had been gambling on the side I guess and uh his good friend

Otani made wire transfers to pay off the debt to a bookmaker um this goes back to last October uh they have tracked at least two uh payments directly from Otani of $500,000 each this bookmaker a a guy named Boer uh was raided back in October uh where they uh found cash

Chips banking documents computers and other evidence uh there’s a US attorney’s office that’s investigating the case um but the stories have kind of changed changed from this interpreter one said at one point Otani didn’t know anything about it and then he said he did know something about it it’s uh no at first

He said that he did at first he said that Otani like typed it and did it him yeah that he went to Otani and explained whatever and Otani paid for it to cover him and he he sat down with ESPN for an interview after being presented to ESPN

By otani’s reps and after the interview otani’s reps said no you can’t run with that story and then changed the story on the fly to Otani didn’t know anything about it which in and of itself is incredibly suspicious um Now The Interpreter alleges that he has a gambling

Addiction um and otani’s Reps and lawyers allege that this is a case of theft now you would know better than me from a legal perspective I don’t know anything about the law I’m not a lawyer tended to be one but it’s it’s one thing to fall on the
