Dodgers player sh Otani in the middle of one of the biggest controversies that baseball has seen in a long time just broke yesterday today he’s still hitting balls off the off the wall we’re talking about being locked in and something that is involving this much of a failure if

You’re off this much he has somehow been able to keep $45 million potentially being stolen from him or lent from him to his interpreter who is a terrible Gambler absolutely terrible Gambler if the story shapes out to be whatever it is just whatever he’s still bombing balls he is still incredible at baseball

That’s his Sanctuary but this is a big deal and a lot of people are mentioning Pete Rose don’t know if it’s similar right don’t have it same I don’t get that uh that Vibe just from everything again this this news basically came I mean yesterday people were talking about

It and then the story actually came out today so it’s still very fresh I don’t think there I don’t think all the information has been presented yet but no it doesn’t feel like sh was betting on baseball explicitly so I don’t think it’s a a Pete Rose situation but it is

It is very interesting how basically every story that’s been presented so far has either been refuted or like mixed around or right after you know the story came out I was like well that’s not actually not what happened the complete opposite thing happened so there’s just like a bunch of different narratives

Going around right now there’s you know half the people who immediately on the internet were like okay so sh was gambling his interpreter is the Fall Guy obviously that’s that’s the case and then other people are you know you mentioned his Confidant his friend he

Needs this guy to be able to function in the United States as his interpreter he was just being a you know just being a good pal paying off a debt of his but I don’t know I mean the the investigation obviously I think is very serious but

The MLB has basically already said like hey as of right now like sh’s in the clear like we’re not there’s not going to be some massive at least as of right now there’s not going to be some massive suspension he’s not you know a lot of

People were uh putting out the piece in his contract where it was like Hey if his interpreter was to be let go or something like that like he can opt out at the end of the year like people assuming that he’s potentially not going to be a Dodger anymore because of this

Like I think all of that’s but I think there is just so much conjecture and other stuff going around with this that we really don’t know the full scope of what’s going on so hopefully jet has a little more information yeah and uh IE mitara uh who is The Interpreter nailed

It you know he allegedly addressed the entire team after the game yesterday and kind of spoke up about it did sh have no idea the story was coming out did IE was he the only one that knew the story was coming out because then there’s videos

Of shi an The Interpreter in The Dugout yesterday morning as we watched on 6: a.m. start here on the East Coast uh for the uh Korean game look They’re laughing Pals yeah chumming it up yeah yeah you’re right what’ you take today it’s great to be here yeah so they’re showing this video

And then afterwards ipe allegedly addressed the entire team and then the story comes out and then all of a sudden no this guy stole four and a half million dollars from sh it’s none of it really makes sense how it all pans out now 4 and a half million is a lot of

Money that’s grand grand grand grand grand theft yeah you know that is obviously a huge amount of cash but for sh Otani you know four and a half million could potentially go missing from a bank account yeah yeah you know and for sure it’s not like show if show

Is not like plugged in every day check his balance he checking his numbers 45 million I and I assume they’ve already done the math what it is for somebody who makes $65,000 a year $75,000 a year there’s a chance that he did not know until very recently about all this for

Sure like so I I’m excited jet better give us answers that the jet better give us some Dam answers because I got a lot of them and if they don’t have any answers boy this story is only going to continue to Cook and Cook and Cook because we don’t know anything about

Anything seemingly yeah I mean you would assume that he didn’t find because if everything that we’ve been presented so far is true like it would be really weird that they were just yucking it up when this guy allegedly stole $4.5 million from and again I understand that

He just signed a $700 million contract so $4.5 million maybe isn’t like the end all Beall to him but I think that’s still obviously a massive breach of trust but on yeah on the on the on the Dodgers side like I think that’s why I think they kind of feel like they were

Just like you know like this blasted them out of nowhere because initially I assumed like okay well this has been going on for a while they say since like 2019 since they got to the US these bets had been placed so I assumed that like the Dodgers maybe knew of this in some

Way shape or form but that doesn’t seem to be the case either because their manager Dave Roberts has basically said like hey I’m not commenting on this at all like I I don’t you know I have nothing to say I’m going to let the investigation play out but it is just

It’s really it’s really interesting how uh ipe basically came and said like you know hey he he paid off my debts for me and we’re all good and then apparently someone got in his ear or something happened and he basically said like that’s actually not the way it played

Out he had no idea he wasn’t the one who actually wired the money himself which is what he initially said like it’s just it’s really weird and it’s it’s going to get fishy I don’t think anything will happen to Otani I don’t think so either I don’t think there’s unless there’s

Like some big Smoking Gun somewhere are we mared though that we’re just like I don’t think so because like uh you know you talk to that you talk to reporters like we talked to Jet and he was complimenting Tish and everything like that and if you hear them talk it’s like

We’re just telling you what was told to us by people in the know at the time at the time and it’s not just people involved it’s also like feds like we’re getting this is the information we’re getting from it we still have a lot of questions because

We’re nowhere near done doing it but they’re also nowhere near done with the investigation so they I think they kind of get a little bit upset about all the natural reactions and narratives that get built like last night show sure oh yeah show Lost $45 million in bets on

Baseball is is pretty much what the internet took that as immediately and they’re going to let jokes fly but like it does feel as if the reporters are like that is not the that is not the actual from what we have been told that is not the actual story not baseball

First of all and from all parties that have talked to us including feds it was this particular individual who’s The Interpreter who was with Shi Shi victim here is what everybody is kind of saying even The Interpreter who said this is me and he was just covering for a friend

But it is crazy to think that it could change once again on a dime potentially in the middle of an investigation yeah I think if you just think about it like reasonably I think baseball more so than any other sport like guys especially like guys like him who will be first

Ballot Hall of Famers like they just know because of Pete Rose like you don’t do this okay because you will get caught and if you do get caught like Pete Rose has the most hits in the history of baseball and he’s not in the Hall of

Fame and people treat him like he’s just some piece of because he bet on baseball 50 50 years ago exactly and he was betting on him to win he wasn’t you know throwing games or anything like that but I think you look at it like that and also everything we know about

Shoh in terms of like all he cares about is baseball he wants to do his compete that’s why he went to the Dodgers because he was kind of just wasting away in Anaheim and then also on top of it like I understand that he has only been

Living in the US for like 5 years but you’d think that if he was getting involved in something like this like someone would stop it before it got to the point where it’s like hey sh you’re one of the most popular people in the world we can’t have you uh racking up $5

Million in gambling debts with this illegal bookmaker in like guess what eventually the the piper is going to have like the Pod Piper is going to show up and people will find out about this I just have a hard time believing that you would be that shortsighted and just

Thinking like oh no one’s ever going to find out yeah and show Otani from everything we’ve learned good dude right yeah oh yeah like just as far as we know seems to be awesome like legit only cares about B and since he’s in high school they know he’s going to be a guy

For sure so that would be very out of character from what we know absolutely and very dumb yeah as a person who has been since high school basically said this is the next one so this would be a very and you got to think about the humans involved whenever you hear things

Like this so you don’t make assumptions but everything we’ve been told from the baseball Community about sh is this would not be a misstep that he would be willing to take no no that being said this interpreter putting him in this position yeah yeah even more a predator

Yeah guy just I mean he just loved the Portland Timbers yeah you know was he betting on MLS soccer I’m assuming I think he was International World Cup I imagine four and a half Million

  1. I’m an Ohtani fan but I’m also a Pete Rose fan! Pete Rose also had excuses and his stories changed but MLB banned him for life… IMO Pete Rose did the crime and he did the time! Ohtani thought great as he is, he broke a MLB rule and should automatically be banned for life and under review each year. Ohtani is no different than Shoeless Joe Jackson and the Black Sox although great players all were banned for life! Ohtani is no different… If MLB doesn’t do anything that they did to many players then they’re just as corrupt and useless!!! IMO!

  2. What it would be a great deal for Dodgers to win the World Series now is all screw up for this all gambling situation, how sad and how this Japanese can concentrate to keep playing v

  3. If shohei gambled, he wouldn’t open a line of credit let it gather interest and just pay everything upfront. That’s the biggest indicator of him not placing any bets even if it’s through ippei, there’s no reason for him not pay everything straight away. And with gambling addiction, he wouldn’t have chosen to defer the $700mill contract, he would want all the money upfront to keep gambling. It’s just sad that people will assume the worst of him

  4. I think this is the most likely scenario that fills all the gaps: Shohei didn't start out as gambler but Mizuhara's gambling habit rubbed off on Shohei as they spent a lot of time together. They both enjoyed gambling together, and Shohei provided the funds. There is no way Shohei was completely ignorant of his finances. Their stories keep changing because they are doing an awful job at damage control and trying to protect Shohei's career.

  5. The first story was that Ohtani loaned, or gave the interpreter $4.5 million and wired it to the bookie to pay off the interpreter’s bets. The lawyers got involved and changed the story to the interpreter stealing the money because the first story put Ohtani in legal jeopardy. Ohtani could be in significant trouble as the FBI gets involved. The NFL suspended Ridley for a year for far less.

  6. There was always something about Sho that didn't agree with me. He was just too over publicized in too many languages. It seemed that he was labeled as iconic much too early. I also feel that this current scandal is being whitewashed. One thing is for sure. He isn't the only spoiled and pampered athlete on this planet . Sho better read up about the great Pete ''Charlie Hustle'' Rose before he ever gets involved with gamblers again.

  7. The reason they were using an illegal bookie was to keep these bets secret, the smoking gun is the $4.5 million transfered directly from Ohtanis bank account over a period of years

  8. Let's not forget he's employed in California so he's keeping like 30 percent of all the money

  9. I’m thinking ohtani was the one gambling. MLB better suspend him for the at least the season.

  10. Dodgers better hope Shohei doesn’t come out of this smelling like a “Rose.” They can kiss their $700 million guy goodbye.

  11. With how fishy the story is and keeps changing, i think Ohtani will be lucky to only be suspended for a year….

  12. Ohtani is still a kid and doesn't know how to handle his own finances. Its easy for someone like to get played by someone he is close to.

  13. Fact of the matter is is that there was a money transfer from Ohtanis account directly to an Illegal bookie! Your done son!

  14. MLB reinstate Pete Rose. That's the only way to sweep this under the rug.. Other than that speculation and assumptions will only grow.

  15. Does it matter if Shohei knew he was paying off gambling debts? That's where I don't know, but it's weird if he didn't know where that money was going.

  16. This came a few days after a bomb treat at the Dodgers/Padres opener in Seoul, makes one wonder if this has anything to do with the Gambling debt or maybe why he paid it off. 1 other crazy thing to add, we all know the "mad bomber" got married, has anyone seen a photo of his wife? Maybe, just maybe it's not a wife maybe it is IsIppei Mizuhara and maybe it wasn't stealing money if they are in fact married now. I mean if we going to throw out crazy suggestions, we might as well go over board. In reality, I think Ohtani's buddy got into trouble, they threatened Ohtani and his wife and Ohtani paid the debt.

  17. Is Shohei Otani's interpreter, Ippei Mizuhara, a Korean resident in Japan?
Is he pretending to be Japanese by using a Japanese name?
Did he drive a Korean car at first? In Japan, very few Japanese people drive Korean-made cars. Was he sent to destroy Shohei Otani and became parasitic?

  18. People just assume the dudes gambling from all the Asian ppl they see at casinos 😂

  19. Eventually the truth will come out. The more I learn about Ippei, the more I think that he is a Japanese version of George Santos. The guy lied about his college graduation and has been lying about his gambling debts to an illegal bookie. Ohtani was taken in because he is clueless and naive. No reason to think that Ohtani was into gambling because he knows nothing about college football and other popular sports in the USA. It makes me sick to my stomach that many folks think that Ippei was made into a fall guy for Ohtani’s gambling habits.

  20. Thanks america Thank you shohei ohtani is banded mlb GOODBYE MLB GOODBYE BASEBALL he will play in the nfl

  21. LARCENY BY FALSE PRETENSE! This is the answer. The truth is hiding in plain sight! The electronic slips says, "Loan."

The key is debt. Ippea LIED AND told Shohei the debt was a loan to fund Ippea's lifestyle and got carried away.

Shohei knew about the debt, but was told it was a loan debt, not a gambling debt. This is LARCENY BY FALSE PRETENSE.

Shohei thought he was paying off a personal loan debt, not a gambling debt.

Read the ESPN interview. Ippea says "Because I kind of had to keep up with his lifestyle. But at the same time, I didn't want to tell him this."

This is what he told Shohei. Ippea told Shohei he took out a loan to keep up with his lifestyle and ended up with debt.

So, Shohei paid off the debt via electronic with the subject "loan." Ippea with false pretenses obtained the money from Shohei by larceny by false pretense, which is a form of THEFT!

Asked if Ohtani knew the person owed the money was a bookie, Mizuhara says his friend "didn't have any clue." So, this goes to the scenario that Shohei paid the loan debt under FALSE PRETENSES, i.e. Shohei was led to believe the debt was from a loan, not a gambling debt.

That's why during the Dodger meeting, Shohei was surprised that there was a gambling debt. Shohei that it was a personal loan debt. This again, is larceny by false pretense.

  22. Common sense is because of Pete Rose baseball players know not to do this?!? Bahaha!! Is this dude seriously making that is foundation for why Ohtani is innocent?!? What a stupid argument!! Bro, athletes cheat, make stupid decisions all the time. Ohtani probably doesn’t even know who Pete Rose is. 🤦‍♂️🤣😂

  23. MLB doesn't want to do anything because he's their big star and he's on Dodgers who the league loves and is in the pocket of. It's all corrupt as heck.
