All right we are live Players Championship we’re what like 20 minutes uh from the course here 20 minutes from downtown Jacksonville 20 minutes at the uh I don’t even know what part of Jacksonville you’d call this but uh Matt gon Jers you joined me today boots on

Gonna get into the course it was just like walk into the place blown away and then from there once we like kindled our feelings we were able to like really dive into the golfers dive into what guys were doing good what guys were doing bad but overall great experience

Went with the more traditional trucker hat trucker hat so J’s boots on the ground down here in Florida his home territory he said time to go with the trucker hat but let’s just dive into it I’ll kick it off I got here yesterday uh I wrote up some of these things on the
Side and also I will say uh we’re going to cover a good amount but also uh you know we got to support ourselves coming down here trying to put the content out so shout out to the subscribers on v.com who get all the insights I feel like we
Probably wrote up 100 plus players at this point like that there’s plenty of things on the side in the Discord uh I will also say that and I say this I wrote this up on the side I say this every single time for boots on the
Ground like we’re going to give takes on the players that we saw we’re going to say guys that we thought looked good guys that didn’t look good more often than not my history is that turns out to be true but I treat this as just another data point alongside how I would treat
Stats you know or things like that so like if we [ __ ] on a player and you want to bet him don’t take what we say if we say guy played great he could easily go out there and miss the cut and that is extra true Matt because as we saw today
This golf course like you can look at the stats and see that accuracy matters you can look at the course history and see that guys EB and flow here and that there’s no top players really who have consistent you know top 10 and top 20s and things like that it makes sense once
You get here this place is claustrophobic this place is insane like I don’t even like I don’t want to be the one who just says insane like we need to add more detail to that but you felt the same way didn’t you yeah you can’t miss you can’t miss and
We talk about the driving accuracy like Adam said and guys missed Fairways by three yards pitching like legitimate pitch outs and we don’t see that at regular PGA tour stops we see it in Majors from time and time again but uh TPC sass is a scorable golf course if
You play out of the Fairway and if you’re the slightest bit off you’re in the water you’re in the rough and the rough is not regular rough this [ __ ] is thick and you H you can’t control your golf ball into these slopey greens and Adam made a great point about
Controlling your ball into the green if you’re not hitting the middle of the green if you’re not hitting where you need to be in the green falling off the edges falling off in the wrong spots hard chips three putts stuff like that so it is legit it is going to be a tough
Test it’s going I’m expecting it to be the most fun PJ tour event we’ve had this season I was at the first the last two events the past the past two weeks and they were cool but this is different I was thought the last two events with
My own eyes this is going to be different this is going to be a fun test to through Sunday so I’m very excited about it and like Adam said it’s insane and there’s no other way to describe it besides the what we just said the last
Two minutes but you got to keep your ball in the right place especially off the te very key yeah and I think I will say too we were we had so much fun we thought this course was so awesome that we both planned on going home tomorrow
And not staying and watching on site tomorrow we’re staying tomorrow we’re watching the golf on the grounds tomorrow we’re going to have eyes on some guys that we bet just because like this to me and I wrote this up it felt like stepping inside of a video game and
Because like you’ve see unlike when I go to the major courses for example you look them up on YouTube you watch videos you read articles and things like that like and they’re always amazing courses it’s always awesome it’s always sick but like you know almost every whole at TBC
Saw Grass like there was somewh I saw like I was like oh I forgot that hole and then boom it like instantly comes into your mind and I don’t think and we talked about this and we ran into a couple people on the course and we talked about this like TPC sass doesn’t
Get hyped up enough like it gets treated as oh another you know it’s the players like T sass like I’ve seen people even like give takes that they don’t like the course and things like that this place is unbelievable I’ve been now to the last like two years of major courses and
Yeah those serve a different test but purely from just like this is so cool we at TBC sass this is the players like the tour needs to do a better job almost of like speaking to how great of a course TBC sass is because you can’t stand on
Any of the T boxes and look out and not have trouble on both sides there’s just no margin for air and on TV like and we talked about like on the 10th hole your guy misses the Fairway and you’re like pissed in the app because you’re like
What the like how do you miss this Fairway we stood there and we were like how many balls would it take us to hit the Fairway like Infinity balls and how many guys did we see with it’s not just drivers it’s like they’re taking out Woods they’re taking out hybrids and
They’re missing the Fairway because these these drives are just so claustrophobic and so narrow when you think back to some of the holes we saw today like obviously 16 17 18 everybody knows those holes but we saw pretty much every hole on the course a fair amount
Which holes stand out to you I I just said 10 I think that’s an example point but where like you stand on that hole and you’re like in person this is so much tougher and more difficult than you would ever expect yeah 10’s a great point I tweeted at the picture of number
10 anyone that’s watching this video in the sh pro golfer would not hit that Fairway with like a bucket of balls uh 18 18 where are you missing the ball and it’s so far like you have to hit a long tball and put it in the right spot you
Miss it in the wrong spot you’re in the water you’re in the pine straw look hopefully if you’re righty your Miss is a slice because if it’s a hook you’re in the water so 10 and 18 two very hard drives I would say so it just goes back
To our initial Point play out of the Fairway or you are boned it’s not it’s not rocket science it’s black and white play out of the Fairway so I guess we’ll get into some guys some guys that we liked some guys that we didn’t like um
You want it what do you want to start with I will also say just before we move to the players on a hole that we like walked by today and we were like this hole might be the craziest hole we’ve ever seen number nine number nine like
When your guys aren’t going for the green and two this week like again oh my God normally that’s rage mode your guy drives it right down the middle you’re going to be in the app and you’re going to be like go yeah go time we’re going
For the green it’s going to be [ __ ] awesome that going for the green shot it might be the most difficult shot I’ve ever seen I like I like you you I it’s again it’s impossible to explain without like really seeing it but when on TV because
They’re going to say and i’ I guess I heard have heard this before they’re gonna be like oh you know like the slopes around the greens there’s these little nooks and crannies like there are you if you aren’t dialed in you’re you are screwed so yeah it’s uh obviously at
Par five you’re going to have two 220 plus into the green but just to make it make it even worse there’s a a stream running between the green and the Fairway and the entry to the green is about 10 yards wide it’s like a a a long
Pencil shaped green and there is bunkers and slopes around it is it’s it would truly be a hard uh green on 130 yard par three truthfully and this is from 220 yards away so if guys are laying up to 100 yards to whatever the number is don’t tilt because it’s probably the
Better play unless you can hit a really high ball and that also leads me to uh the t- shot or the second shot on number 16 we saw sunj hit a dead perfect 3-wood into 16 uh the par five before you get into the final few holes nuked it perfectly on the screws
Hit the front of the green and just because it didn’t come in at a high enough Apex bounc through the green into the water so if you’re not hitting an iron into 16 or Landing a three-wood at the very like the front Fringe consider yourself wet so the intricacies and the
Detail is immaculate someone asked what we’d shoot there minimum 130 would you minimum you again i’ like I’ve been lucky enough over the last year and a half to go to pretty much every PGA US Open open site and every time I’ve been there you go okay this is really [ __ ]
Hard and you would shoot Infinity but you would finish the round right I genuinely don’t know if I could finish like I’m a lefty with a slice if you’re missing left at TPC Saw Grass don’t even come to the course don’t even show up because you are absolutely boned so I
Would shoot infin I generally don’t think I would finish like my score would be there’s no number to describe what s because I would probably have to pick up and just quit but the the summary of it is like we could go through so many different examples of things that we saw
But the summary is if you’re not dialed with every Club in the bag T to Green you’re done like there is too much trouble to get by with like something glaringly wrong with your game if you just have to keep the ball in play and
Like I’ve never been to a course where I felt that distance mattered so little right you know like this is kind of an exaggeration but not really in the fact that like you could watch Brendan Todd play and you could watch Rory maroy play and you could go these guys both can
Attack this course like you go to a place like LA and you’re like Brendon Todd just leave like you don’t even need to be in the tournament it doesn’t matter and for me that was the like you see that in the stats we’re not saying something that you couldn’t necessarily
See in the stats we’re just confirming that the eye test matches the stats and when we saw last year that this was the hardest uh or the biggest penalty for Miss Fairways in Saw Grass history like in the last six seven years yeah it it’s very likely going to be that again if
Not more difficult now with that said I still think scoring like guys are going to have reasonable scores minus 15 and a half I think is the over under and when I first before I knew what the over under was I was thinking minus 15 I’m
Like that sounds like I’m just making it up but that’s generally what I was thinking you can score you can also get boned there’s going to be like we said there’s going to be big scores but guys are still going to have the ability to go the greens are soft enough but you
Have to be in the Fairway and then it’s about controlling your ball from there yeah I was literally going to say exactly that we’re going to see 65s and we’re also going to see 75s without and it’s going to be without a doubt because if the margins are so small and the
Ceiling and the floor are so wide the greens are very soft guys were guys were hitting seven irons from the Fairway and stopping on a dime like this is probably not going to be the case on Saturday and Sunday but early tomorrow maybe into Friday afternoon but it’s going to might
Get a little windy Friday afternoon guys are going to be hitting longer clubs and they’re going to be sitting on greens uh with that being said if you’re playing out of the rough you’re you’re boned you have to chip out or you’re not gonna be able to stop anything on these greens so
That basically I feel like wraps up the course um yeah 100% um so excited for it we will uh be there tomorrow get some watcham action in play but from course setup standpoint the PGA Tour can set it up exactly how they want if somehow some way they don’t get an exciting
Tournament out of this course then it was a they [ __ ] up the setup basically because the conditions are perfect for having this course play exactly how TBC SRA should play to reward the players playing the best and punish the players who aren’t and at the end of the day
That’s all we can ask for in a golf tournament but yeah let’s get into some of the players and before we even get to like necessarily how someone was playing I know people are probably jonesing over there to like hear how guys are playing but I’m just gonna say that like we
Noticed something today with with golf fans in general that I think we have to discuss just because like it ties into everything that’s going on in the world of golf and the PJ tour and I’ve seen this now in pretty much every practice round that I’ve been
To golf fans only know and I’m talking about the average golf fan the person who’s only going to one tournament a year they’re watching maybe on it’s like if you’re watching this basically doesn’t consider not you but like they only know three players Rory maroy Justin Thomas or four players
Ricky fer Ricky Fowler and Jordan spe in these practice rounds Rory’s practice rounds are multiple people deep every single time you see him he’s being followed every single move Scotty sheer the number one player in the world in Far and Away the best golfer in this tournament every time I’ve ever seen
Scotty it’s just perfection and it was Perfection this week There’s if he like if he wins obviously no surprise but even extra no surprise after like seeing how good he looked this week but no one is following Scotty sheffler yeah me and you are watching Scotty sheffler from
Point Blank Range well every other person is doing is we walk around and they’re going where’s Rory where’s JT the number of times I heard where’s Ricky where’s like that to me is a problem for the PJ T because like you need your stars to shine but you can’t
Everybody we described as the average golf fan is living like six seven eight years ago and that kind of sucks because there’s so many awesome players out there and everybody’s just congregated on those those few guys and that well that being said I don’t blame any of the
Golf fans it’s the Golf Channel it’s the golf media’s fault we were turning on we turned on the Golf Channel right when we got home the whole entire round was about Rory’s practice rounds Rory’s iron field how Rory was feeling and as much as like it’s it’s annoying for the golf
Fans to just care about these few players it’s so much added pressure on Rory and for no reason Rory has to do everything perfect and while he is the star while he is the face of the tour that’s not fair for the product we need
To get these new guys on camera on doing other things because everything is about Rory and like Adam said we followed so many guys big names like he mentioned Scotty Sam Burns anyone we wanted to see we’re right next to him but if you wanted to get near Rory maore who was
Hacking it around he was hit for example on number five or four was it yeah five sliced the B sliced his t-ball into the right bunker hacked it out maybe 120 yards and was 50 yards short of the Green in the palm trees looked horrendous and then he hit a second ball
From the Fairway because it’s a practice round you can just drop do whatever you want and everyone’s clapping for Ry maroy like it’s not like he’s some circus act who’s the a golfing Savant who is doing everything perfect like Scotty Sheffer is right now it’s because
His name is Rory maroy and that is a problem it’s frustrating yeah we just bring this up we brought it up in the context of Rory because like Rory has so much more pressure on him than like Scotty sheffler does Scotty Sheffer not only is the most skilled golfer on the
PGA tour he genuinely doesn’t have the most pressure like on site and genuinely I would say in the media too like it’s all always what is Rory doing and then when you’re on site it’s like JT spe Ricky all the guys who are great at golf
Five six years ago on like on site that’s generally where the pressure is and it’s great for Scotty because he can just patrol around go through his practice no one’s watching Scotty on the putting green like four people maybe are watching Scotty on the putting green and
If that was Rory it would be on the putting green it’ be 10 Deep Tru and and like I wouldn’t be bringing this up if I hadn’t also seen this at every like practice round that I go to and it’s insane just say that because like Rory was definitely struggling yeah oh yeah
100% there’s no doubt about it and I we the I have to mention this a Vic laap that on the PO on Monday or Sunday night I said Rory’s too dialed with the driver it’s affecting his iron swings what has it turned out Rory has said this himself
And we saw that the irons are out of sorts uh if he plays well this week it’s going to be off the tea like he Cana million he’ll make a million pots and he’ll get in he can get into the mix but I would be extraordinar surprised based
On what we saw if he can overcome what the stats are saying which is that his ball striking is bad and like at the end of the day that’s kind of what boots in the ground is for it’s combining what the stats say and then if you see a guy
Who’s struggling on approach and then with your eyes he’s struggling on approach it doesn’t give you confidence that he can solve that thing versus somebody like a Tony Fe now who is struggling with putting and then you see him doing something new putting better and it’s like okay if I wasn’t here I
Would have no reason to believe that these stats could change they still probably won’t but you see these things so like I would just say Rory’s stats say that his irons are bad we didn’t like Rory coming into the week there’s nothing for me to change my mind on Rory
Yeah want to lead that into someone whose stats are saying one thing and the eye test is confirming I’m talking about Colin morawa uh yeah last what was last week sh Colin morawa shot an 80 at uh Bay Hill So Adam and I are just out there watching our guys we see Colin
With his coach in the Fairway probably 100 yards back of his playing group in who’s on the greens he’s throwing his arms up he’s like doing swing Fields doing this this this and we’re like all right like what’s going on with Colin we and it goes on for like five to 10
Minutes most guys will come and Chip and put on the green just completely skipped it completely skipped and like so this is on the front nine I’ve never seen a player in my life not that I’ve been to every practice run not even close but
Like no one goes out and plays the front nine and then goes and plays the front nine again and yeah and later in the day we’re standing by the front nine and who do we see again but Colin marow we see Colin morawa playing three balls on from
The Fairway every single shot he hits he’s talking to his not his cadd his coach about his swing about doing this doing this and then he’s on he gets on the next T whether he hits a good shot or not he’s hitting so many balls he’s I
Have never seen a player grind so hard on and around the green like I’ve saw Colin morawa the like the last 25 minutes of of the uh the practice round and that also kind of goes into the Royal ma thing like ma was playing golf
At the moment where Adam and I were it was me Adam and Colin Mora and nobody else truthfully nobody else we were able to just do that and Colin Mora is a a star on the PJ tour but everything is about Rory two those are two separate
Things but I just wanted to say that it confirms what uh the stats were saying about Colin morawa it’s not great right now and the eye test that we saw today feels like it confirmed that yeah Colin to be fair I will also add because I
Think the cont like EXT of having seen how these guys do practice rounds in the past is important because like there are some guys who just like they you know do one thing and that’s fine because you’ve seen them do that for I have seen Colin
Looking for Lauren like this in so many practice rounds like he is in his head so much like I I mean who am I to judge maybe his head is clear and free and I’m 1000% wrong but like he’s always like this but today was at an extreme level and then when you
Consider he shot 80 last week at Bay Hill it’s like tough scene uh hope maybe he’ll have found something in this emergency 9 and you know an old emergency 9 maybe call and find something uh obviously makes so much sense at this golf course I wanted to
Bet Callin this week he makes sense he should play well he’s got some demons to overcome between today and tomorrow but hopefully he does uh Scotty noted here obviously Scotty played amazing uh and didn’t even look like he was doing anything special Scotty Shefler had a drive on five where
He like he like looked like wonky like he pulled it while Sam Burns looked like he striped it like put the T put the driver in his pocket like he striped it Sam Burns is in the rough Scotty could not be more in the middle of the Fairway
Scotty hits his iron shot to 20 feet whether he makes it or not just business casual yeah and that’s the thing with how difficult the tto green conditions are obviously Scotty won last year exclusively tto green he didn’t even have to make any putts um I hope with
All my heart that that doesn’t happen this week it 1,000% uh could um and the other thing about Scotty that we’re GNA say in the context of Rory and the pressure um on Rory and then you get Colin sulking like sulking around yeah every single time because because Rory
Does that too like obviously if you’re not firing in the practice rounds you’re going to get mad like they’re golfers they they’re going to get upset and we see that from so many of the top guys because so many of the top guys are not dialed in right now but I’ve never not
One time ever seen Scotty upset in a practice round move along just it doesn’t matter to him he knows how much better he is at golf than everybody and what is there that he could practice in a practice round that’s going to [ __ ] matter and he always HS it perfect every
Time you see Scotty when you actually see him playing golf you go this guy is way better at golf than everybody else and it’s like obviously the stats say that but it’s so insane how good he is and how little stress he clearly feels about his game than almost any of the
Other top players and to be that much more skilled than all of the other top players and more relaxed and chill about just how good you are huge Advantage for Scotty so always fun to see him play uh I go out of my way to make sure I can
Watch Scotty for at least 30 to 45 minutes every time I go to a practice round just because it’s so insane but moving on pull up the we slide up on the screen over there take a look at who else oh somebody asked what’s wrong with Xander nothing’s wrong with Xander
Xander totally good I don’t want to bet Xander because I don’t want to bet Xander but there was nothing I can say from I Xander is a perfect golfer he just somehow finds a way to not win but this could be the week and obviously an amazing course fit for Xander Xander
Should play well uh he should be in the mix but Victor hlin that’s the next man on the odds board and we have to talk about Victor hin you had a tweet people probably saw it it’s it’s doing some numbies but that’s because it was insane it I have
Never seen anything even close to this uh with my eyes in person we’re just wandering around we’re waiting all day we’re saying where is Victor hin I want to bet Victor hind I saw him play on M on Tuesday and he looked good and this course obviously makes all of the sense
In the world for a dialed in Victor hofland and he’s nowhere to be found every other guy’s on the course they’re playing we’re [ __ ] walking Infinity miles going from ho to whole to see how these different guys we’re looking at the the scoreboard to see where they’re
Playing hain’s name never coming up on the scoreboard and lo and behold where do we find Mr Victor hin Mr Victor hin is on the Range grinding grinding is an understatement with his coach with his new coach with who knows apparently it’s a name not I didn’t I wasn’t sure who a
Famous name a famous coach who teaches a specific uh style of swinging whether that’s new whether it is different from Victor’s swing is I think it’s confirmed but what he was doing on the Range he was complaining he was soaking similar to what Colin morawa was doing in the
Fairways but clear Colin was on the course Colin was on the course but VI uh Adam made a good point about Victor because he knows the course so well and he’s played well here before his priorities are making sure his swing is right because he’s pieced together good
Results over the last two weeks but not vintage Victor obviously like he started bogey bogie bogey at Bay Hill and finished at a respectable number but clearly he’s not where he needs to be so he’s doing whatever he possibly can to uh get to where he can but what what
From what we saw today the moves that he we saw him working through like I just don’t see how you’d want to wage dra on it if you saw it with your own eyes too so I don’t know it could just be nothing but I would say no from Victor for me
The funny thing is I’m actually going to say so because I agree with like what you’re saying is that he knows this course so well that there’s no point of even going to go play the fourth hole the fifth hole the sixth hole if he can’t hit the ball the way Victor hland
Is capable of hitting the ball like he’s not going to play well no matter what so totally I’m actually okay with the fact that he was grinding so hard today because he knows go and I I’m not him it made me not want to bet him ultimately
And this is true for both of us and we’ll just talk about this now after seeing all of the top guys it became so clear to to to us at least that we’d rather have bigger cards with more guys on them than go for the names at the top
Of the board who when you’re watching with your own eyes are doing nothing better than guys who are 150 200 to one and it’s like so hard to bet those guys when you’re seeing something like that I’m just going to say that but the reason I bring that up um is
Because hland like I didn’t end up wanting somebody from that range of the board but I think he plays well I that’s like that’s going to be my take like I think we saw all this crazy stuff he looks like he has no chance I think he could surprise like I’ll take the
Opposite side like what would you say finishing position based on what you saw like 17 and a half maybe 14 and a half like around that range see like yeah I mean that’s high so I would like I would say top 20 was like what I was going to
Say but like that’s in the realm of like what you’re saying but yeah like you’re just just saying outright perspective you can’t bet a guy at 25 to1 based on when you see him grinding he’s like in the top five six of the odds board I’m
Not I’m saying I don’t think he should cont he’s gonna contend based off what I saw but I I feel like he will play well because he’s grinding and trying to uh itch out those Kinks Max solid nothing also not solid uh really really talk about shipping for Max like he could not
Chip out of that Bermuda oh yeah ugly uh the jur said max couldn’t chip out of the Bermuda confirmed confirmed we saw the stats uh confirmed again with the eye test there uh we talked Colin Klay didn’t see him again today I wrote up you probably saw him right about Klay uh
I’ve never seen him more forlorn Pat Klay hopefully he can overcome that but let’s talk will Z Torres first guy we saw today we saw him what 7:30 A.M right when we walked on the will was already on but like the 14th Hole by uh like
7:30 in the morning Za was up early Za was in business mode and who was he playing with tell me he said Z was so focused that he was willing to play with Peter Ma naughy at 7 in the morning at uh TBC Saw Grass because it doesn’t
Matter to Z because it’s game mode and what was Z not doing Z was not hitting a thousand chips around the green Z wasn’t putting 400 different places on the green Z was hitting his ball down the middle of the Fairway then he was hitting his ball onto the green he was
Putting his ball either into the hole or up next to the hole he might hit a couple more putts and then he strolled on to the next hole cuz he knows his game is dialed and why does he need to [ __ ] around with all these little things
When he can just stripe show it every time and you’re a will Z guy people who listen to the Pod who read your stuff will know you’re a zal guy like what was your take on what you saw from Z yeah coming from the person who invented will
Zal tourus I think he is he is surely Live this week and as he should be everyone’s on him everyone’s he’s a good number and he’s a one of the top 15 20 guys in oddsboard for a reason playing Great Golf he just looked so dialed and
Adam and I were talking about the new driver the shorter driver it just looks so much more in control even Under Pressure over the last few weeks it’s looked under control he had that right Miss for a while that haunted him uh in while he was in contention but took off
A few inches and he’s hitting a consistent five yard Fade with the driver drawing his iron just staple staple just doing it on on on Q uh so what we saw this morning like literally he was so dialed he was willing to put up with Pete Milady at 7 AM who’s just
Laughing away being Pete Milady just telling what just talking like Pete Milady does and was like okay okay okay laughing here and there and just hitting good shot after good shot um yeah I I hope will zorus plays very well and I think he will play very well this week
Yeah he I said it was the most I guess he hasn’t been playing a reasonable amount of time but he looked to me how he looked at brookln when he played uh made should have probably won that tournament loses to fits but that same just locked in game mode he always tends
To want to play like he did today for like a score the day before the tournament just to get in that mode Z is smart about how he goes about preparing for golf tournaments there’s a reason he’s one of the best players in the world and now that he’s healthy I think
He’s a game every single week uh probably until he gets if hopefully never gets hurt again but like as long as Z’s healthy the mind the like the he just knows what he’s doing out there so uh love that from South leig I’ve said this now a couple times I I tweeted this
Last week after betting him I think the stats for leig are rigged I think his Strokes gained off the T numbers are some sort of like plant by the PGA Tour because I will say people really like ludig ludig is very popular and Jake knap is really popular so the people are

To Brian Haron he fought him off he won he’s a great guy and then in person he’s super nice he’s striping it you are the most tipped guy you make you say most tipped is this right or wrong what is your final before the tournament stance on Brian Haron as the
Most tipped player this week and I personally saw striping it yeah you said he you personally saw striping it and he played well last week but how well did he play he got he had a great round on Friday and then couldn’t TR couldn’t have rejected quicker on Saturday
Morning so um yeah I think I got to be out on Brian Haron clearly these guys are great and can turn it on in in a week in a in a round but I don’t know why you’d want to bet a guy who was 150
