[Applause] hey guys I’m Bubba Watson two-time Masters champion but most importantly captain of the range goats GC here putter is on fire at the moment practice drills for tough situations for me personally when I was growing up I’d put the ball in divots I’d put the ball in High Grass put the ball in trees I’d put the ball everywhere my dad said why practice

On good grass why not practice all the other shots cuz if it on good grass you know I’d hit that shot anytime you’re in the rough or in trees and you pull the shot off even if it’s just a layup down the Fairway you have to Envision that

Shot and hopefully pick the right Target and the right recovery at that moment I know I’m self-taught but I have a few tips to help you to make it simple make game more fun we all want to be in the Fairway but most of the time it doesn’t

Happen so we’ve got to figure out how to recover Under Pressure you can pull it shank it slice it hook it top it there’s many ways that you can find a bad spot and that’s where you’re going to have to be creative so if you’re like me and you miss

Fairways this is when the creativity comes out and this is where you have the most fun so when you find yourself in some rough some High Grass trees the first thing is how do you recover what do you want to do here do you want to just play

Safe and try to save whatever Strokes you can do you want to attack it and try to pick up a shot or pick up a shot on your personal best so you have to decide those things when you’re in trouble you can’t focus on the future when you

Start thinking about the trees when you start thinking about water sand traps out of bounds then you already thought about the wrong things you thought about the future um you have to focus on what you’re doing at that moment I’m not very good at that either and I’m trying to

Learn that it’s something that you have to do you have to stay in the moment in the shot in the swing and focus on that Target and then hitting the ball low to get out of the trouble you don’t want to hit it too high hit it up in the

Branches right here is a big enough Gap where it’s just a little draw for me got to keep it a little lower we’re roughly 160 163 out there’s bunkers on the left so we want to draw it there’s no water nothing like that the only trouble is really these trees just getting past

These trees so I’ve got a eight iron the reason why I have an eight iron on this shot is because it it makes me in my head um without even thinking about it it makes me come down steeper on it so I can hit it lower if I have like a four

Iron or a five iron you know I I lose that that that edge of just hitting it and coming down on it on this one you put the ball back a little bit in your stance so you can keep it lower and then you just want

To turn it over a little bit just to put it on the green most of the time in Pine straw you’re going to make a solid contact because the pine TRW is sitting down so you’ll be able to play it just like a normal shot um most of the time people

Will get in their head that it’s a tough lie they’re focused on the wrong things again so you have to stay committed to what you’re doing you have to stay focused on the target and just know that that lie is going to come out good obviously High Grass is going to come

Out a little different so then that’s a totally different shot or focus at that time there’s a little Hill with rough rough and Fairway right in the middle of this Gap that’s what I’m focused on and trying to draw it just inside that let it land just short of the green and then

Kind of Bounce onto the green seems pretty simple so let’s see if we can get our mind right don’t focus on all the trouble don’t focus on what could happen Focus Fus on what’s going to happen and that’s finding that that Gap and having a low little draw and tapping in for

Birdie the Masters Augusta National we were in the trees on 15 and then when you look down at the pine straw pine straw was good so the LI is good so I know I can hit any shot I want to hit now it’s about coming up with a number

We came up with uh 134 front so that’s a perfect 52° gap wedge the shot I had was easy well I thought was easy in my head it’s the master so it makes it difficult pine straw was a good lie wind is slightly going from left to right that’s

Going to help draw it and then it’s going to help distance once it turns my mind was focused on one shot there’s only one shot I could hit and it came out flush I hit it perfect I hooked it so I have no idea where the ball is I get out in the

Fairway and I said where’s my ball at do you know where it is and he goes yeah it’s by the hole cuz I’m looking from of the green middle of the green I’m not even why would I look at the hole I looked up and it’s like 12 ft from the

Hole I just used everything to my advantage to get me back into the moment that I wanted to be In you know first shot hit it on the green here should be pretty easy $20 what go in hey 20 bucks yeah where’s he at Where’s My Money pay me pay the man pay the man you spent many hours practicing that trying to figure that out and now I spend many hours playing

Golf trying to hit those shots while I’m out there on the course playing with buddies hope you enjoyed my live lessons
