Last round uh I did what I wanted to do keep it in the Fairway and and give myself chances I felt like I I hit the ball really nicely today and rolled it really good as well so uh no complaints super happy with with the way I’m
Hitting the ball and what the way I’m rolling it as well obviously the conditions out there were completely different to yesterday did that affect your Approach at all in any way before you teed off this afternoon yeah I mean it was definitely cloudy and we got
Maybe sprinkle of rain but it wasn’t uh I don’t think he played way different from yesterday we had some wind and as well as yesterday so uh the firmness of the greens are relatively the same so I think it it looked different but it I think I think he played pretty similar
Um but yeah I mean I I I love this golf course it’s uh definitely a lot of fun you got to shape it both ways and hit some quality shots which is uh it’s always fun perfect you’re leading by five going into the final round uh five
Balls are also leading by three um what’s the game plan going into Sunday uh nothing’s going to change uh mentality is going to be the same I’m not going to be thinking I’m leading the tournament um I’m just going to go out there and stay in the present
Go my about my routine and uh just keep doing the same thing try to uh to focus on the shot that I got in front of me and that’s all I can do a over to you Mike Abe uh zero Bogies you only missed two greens only missed four Fairways did
The first 36 holes is this as good a ball striking 36 holes of you as you’ve had definitely definitely been up there um I’ve had some some rounds that I felt the same Sensations where you’re you’re really seeing the shots and you’re on it and you’re you’re executing the shot
Exactly how you’re picturing it uh it’s definitely up there for sure I mean I can’t think maybe a couple of times where I’ve where I it felt that crisp and and the shape of the shots is usually uh exactly what I’m what I’m envisioning did you feel like this was
Going to be one of those weeks though did you did you have an inkling earlier in the week it started I felt like it started clicking last week um the second round I played really well and I I hit the shots that I that I needed to hit made some really good
Putts as well and gave me some confidence Sunday I didn’t quite have everything there but I finished with two two good birdies there that I felt like that momentum kind of carried to this week um hit the ball nicely to in the practice rounds we had some fun with the
Team we had some nice uh we had some nice matches that we always have before the tournament start and and it played pretty well so I just carry that momentum and just I’m just having fun and seeing shots and just executing I know you told us yesterday that your
Your game plan was not to think this was a course for you that you’re trying to take the opposite effect but when you got here for the first time there must have been a smile on your face you definitely and it’s a golf course that I’ve that I’ve heard a lot about years
Prior as well uh with just some friends coming out and playing here in previous events and um they always told me hey you’re going to really like that golf course so um like I said I try not to picture it that way but definitely it’s
A golf course that I that I truly enjoy and uh like I said I I like shaping shots even though I don’t move the ball that much um I like I like seeing those kind of shots and it’s just fun um it’s a fun golf course and one last question
For me it looks like you’re going to play playing with Gino tomorrow uh what’s that going to be like having a having a teammate there also trying to chase you down while was trying to win the team championship I think it’s going to be great uh I think
I mean it’s still going to be super competitive we’re always trying to beat each other even like I said we play practice rounds and we always have some some sort of match going on either wolf hammer or two versus two um automatic one Downs it’s always something so and
We’re extremely competitive Spaniard are insanely competitive and fiery so it’s always fun and it gets pretty heated in those rounds so it’s I mean it’s probably going to be a little more of the same which is uh which is good thanks go ahead join Abe you had you had birdie
Opportunities on almost every hole that you were looking at uh which one really stood out and and which was one shot if you have to just point out which which really pleased you the most like yeah I mean I had I I missed some short part starting on the first
Hole it was it was weird I I missed a really short one and uh but then I made some really long ones as well so uh I’m definitely not complaining uh making that long put on 11 was really nice and that kind of kickstarted my little bit
Of a birdie run that I had there on those I think it was 11 12 13 and and 14 if I’m not mistaken so uh I think that that putt was really nice seeing it Go in from far away and then gave me some some confidence to make more in the in
The upcoming HSE and five shot lead going into the final day uh I know you would like to have as much lead as possible but how do you make sure that you don’t become you know I mean like comfortable in the fact that You’ have got a five shot lead over
Just 18 holes yeah I mean I I’ve been there before I’ve I think um the tournament I I think I’m going to be thinking a lot of the tournament in the Australian Open um I think it was 2018 or 19 uh going into the final round I
Had a five shot lead and I just I didn’t I was not thinking about that I was just going about my routine and staying in the moment and felt like I was chasing somebody felt like I needed to make some birdies obviously not going to play Super aggressive this is a golf course
Where you have to be in the Fairway and position yourself um so yeah that’s going to be my mentality I’m not going to be thinking about the lead or where I’m at just doing the same thing I’ve been doing this two days go ahead Josh
Hey um you uh sorry uh you had chances on 17 and 18 and they the one on 18 really seemed to just just slip by by the smallest can you just talk through that one yeah I mean it was a it’s definitely one of the toughest T we we
Face here so it’s I think it’s a phenomenal uh finishing shot with the finishing hole with the win in and out of the left and being a little cool so you got to hit a tremendous t- shot a really good second shot and obviously if
You want to make birdie got to hit a good putt um and I feel like I did that my second shot was maybe a little bit farther right than I wanted to too but with that PIN being so tuck to the left you cannot miss on the left side so I
Was happy where where ended up and I felt like that would have been a bonus if it went if it went in I hit a really good shot or really good Putt and it just went barely around around the hole so yeah I’m not like I said it would
Have been nice if you gone in but not too uh not too mad about it and uh just on 11 how far was that pop it was pretty far um it felt like it was maybe 70 ft uh I could be wrong but it was probably 60 to in that
Range last one hello uh the wind is much stronger and cooler than yesterday and many players missed their birdies or make their uh balls out of the Fairway and the wi tomorrow will be similar like today and how do you plan about this or solve this problem thank you yeah I
Think just doing the same um I’m going to be yeah we’ll we’ll we’ll see how the weather is tomorrow but it’s going to be my mentality more about the same keeping the ball in the Fairway making sure I I hit the right Club of the tee that gives
