A lot of agent Scott Boras’ clients remain free agents as we get closer to the 2024 MLB season. Over the years, Boras has been an agent for many notable players and this year is no exception.
However, this year has been different because his most notable clients, Blake Snell, Jordan Montgomery, Cody Bellinger, Matt Chapman and JD Martinez have been taking much longer to sign than usual and they have been taking much less in terms of total money and in terms of years in all of their contracts.
We were planning on discussing that right away, but we got the breaking news before we started recording that Matt Chapman had signed with the San Francisco Giants! So we first gave our live reaction to that. Then we talked about why these Scott Boras free agents remain unsigned, and how we felt about his other client, Cody Bellinger, getting a shorter term opt-out type deal that Matt Chapman also ended up receiving. Finally, we break down Boras’ other remaining free agents, JD Martinez, Jordan Montgomery and Blake Snell, and tell you which teams we would like to see them on and predict which teams they will sign with!
What are your thoughts on this 2024 Scott Boras free agency saga? And where do you see these guys going? Comment down below!

Has Scott Boris overplayed his hand a lot of his free agents remain still unsigned even though we got breaking news right before we started recording that Matt Chapman has signed with the Giants so we’ll give our live reaction thoughts on that then we’ll decide why
It is taking so long for these guys to sign how we feel about Cody Bellinger’s New Deal then we’ll tell you where JD Martinez Jordan Montgomery and Blake snow will play this upcoming season and you are not going to want to miss all that and it’s coming up next on the bush
League Bros roll the open now certainly plenty of fanfare between these two brother’s dis complete bushley the little brother just trying to annoy big brother if you look at it on the surface it’s bushley something about that sticks in my crawl what’s up everybody Welcome in to
The bush League Bros partner of the house call Sports I’m here with Taylor my name is Matt and today we are giving our thoughts on this Matt Chapman breaking news to the Giants and about where the rest of these Scott Boris clients are going but before we get into
That please do us a favor subscribe to the channel okay normally I wouldn’t do this okay because I don’t want to put out his business out there okay but if you don’t subscribe Taylor said something about crying for all 30 minutes of the next episode I don’t know
But uh so if you don’t want to see my brother in tears and if you have a heart hit that subscribe button now we have Taylor we got to get into this breaking news literally before we were about to start recording I was scrolling through my phone and I saw the breaking news
That Matt Chapman has signed a threeyear 54 million deal to to be a San Francisco Giant so we were obviously preparing you know what go for it you know what the worst part about this is Matt I I just need to say this is that now when I say
That I was predicting a contract to the Giants for three years with some opt outs it just sounds like absolute BS and I’m pretty frustrated that he couldn’t have waited just like 20 more minutes just 20 more minutes Matt Chapman and I would have it would have made me look a
Lot smarter but you know here we are and now I’m just going to look like a guy that is like oh I knew it was going to happen and uh it’s not great for me but I’m I’m happy for a Matt Jam yes and again this was literally right before we
Were recording I was scrolling through my phone I saw the notification pop up he is going to be a San Francisco Giant he will be the San Francisco Giants third basement so Taylor give me your live reaction thoughts obviously this literally just happened so tell us what
You think man Matt Chapman to the San Francisco Giants yeah it kind of seemed lately I mean like everything was trending towards the Giants none of the other teams really made that much sense for him like the Cubs seemed like an early fit it would have given them probably
The best defensive infield in baseball with Chapman Dansby Swanson ni Herer and then especially if you’re put Bell I mean Bellinger you know he’s probably playing Center but put him first base and you’re looking at an all-time great defense right there I think they’re hoping that Morell can figure things out
At the hot corner he hasn’t graded out well defensively but they’ve got some other internal options there and they’ve got like Nick madreal and Patrick wisdom so didn’t make much sense for them a reunion with the Blue Jays didn’t make much sense I thought maybe if if this
Drew out long enough it was there would potentially be like a one-year deal to the Blue Jays with Matt Chapman just because if you’re going into spring training uh late it would make more sense to do so with a team that you’re familiar with the Mariners were also
Kind of on the radar for Matt Chapman but that didn’t really make a whole lot of sense to me obviously they had the money for it and he would be an upgrade over Josh Roos who’s their third baseman right now but also the Mariners have been making a concer effort to get rid
Of these guys that maybe have a little bit more whiff concerns and Chapman kind of fits into that category and it also wouldn’t make much sense for them to get rid of Gino only to bring in Matt Chapman I wouldn’t have been surprised with the angels a one-year deal to the
Angels you know signing Chapman sends randone to the bench or the DH spot which is you know where he wants to be because he you know he’s so burdened by the opportunity to play H baseball at any given time uh and the angels have the cash they’re willing to spend it the
Giants have been trying to add power all offseason we saw with the cair deal and I think this does that for them Chapman only hit 17 home runs last year but in and in terms of overall production he really only had two good months at the
Plate in April and July and outside of all those other months he was well below average uh and you know he does swing and miss a lot but he also hit the ball harder than like almost anyone in the league overall he had a 17.1% barrel
Rate he was fifth in exit velocity and his expected home run numbers last year were absolutely wacky the difference between his expected home runs and his actual home runs was minus 3.7 which means he should have had on average about four more home runs which was the eighth biggest difference in the league
Definitely adds the power element that they’ve been looking for he’s projected right now at about 25 home runs which feels about right for him and it adds some pop to that Giants lineup but I would be curious to hear from Matt Chapman if he regrets uh rejecting that
Initial Blue Jays offer which was around five years 100 million cuz right now I’m sure that’s looking pretty good uh but ultimately like I think this is a big win for for both parties um but it’s probably not met what Matt Chavin was hoping for when he uh when he got into
Free agency this year man it’s crazy how the tides have turned like what like at the at the start of free agency when you hear what the we’re going to you know get into it later what these Boris clients were looking for as opposed to what they’re actually getting you know
Bellinger was looking for 200 million and he gets three years 80 you know you know Chapman’s looking for you know something around the 150 160 range and he gets 54 you know so it’s like it’s a ins and again it’s opt outs too so you know Chapman’s got opt outs after both
Year one and year two you know so he could easily opt out and you know retest free agency but you look at the projected lineup before Chapman was there there’s a lot of solid players in there but there’s nobody really outside of maybe Solair and I don’t know how
Everybody feels about John Hoy now depending on how he translates to the MLB but there’s nobody in there that you’re like o you know we got to avoid that guy you know so so and if you had Chapman I mean it’s kind of more the same you know cuz he’s not like
Consistently Elite at the plate either but he’s always above average to his credit and you know the defense is going to be there so obviously it’s going to help the Giants it’s going to make them a better team but truthfully I mean when you look at the Giants roster Chapman
Going there I don’t think it’s like a game changer I don’t see them like making a playoff run now or you know you know being a a World Series Contender or anything like that I think the Yankees would have been a fit too um obviously you know upgrading you know over DJ at
Third base would have been nice uh just cuz you know his his you know defense is so good but uh the Yankees weren’t going to spend that money uh cuz you know every every dollar they spend now is going to be doubled as far as the tax
Goes I definitely think it’s going to help the Giants I just don’t know if it’s really going to push them to the point of like contention you know they’ve definitely they’ve definitely you know brought themselves back to being relevant but I don’t know if it’s you know enough to make them
Contenders yeah and they’re in kind of weird spot because obviously I mean uh I don’t think nobody’s going to overtake the Dodgers in that division this year they’re just so overwhelmingly good that you know you hate to say that there’s no chance anybody else is going to win that
Division but it’s pretty close it’s pretty close to being no shots so so really the hope for the Giants is a wild card spot and I think they have they’re close to being good enough to do that and I think the biggest thing that Chapman does for them I mean like I said
He adds that defensive stability to the left side of the infield which I think is really valuable the thing I like looking at their lineup now is that he lengthens it a little bit once you get to that six seven spot you start looking at those kind of more the tun options
Like Mike yky and JD Davis Wilmer Flores and none of those guys really scare you that much but I think Chapman still has enough pop and he hit the ball hard enough last year that he is going to give pitchers something to think about and right now they have him listed at
Six and I think he’s probably going to hit in the five hole quite a bit for them as well I’m going to be interested to see how his numbers look especially in uh the Giants ballpark because it’s such a it’s such a pitcher friendly ballpark I’m going to be interested to
See kind of how his numbers look do you want to take a guess as to how many expected home runs at Oracle he would have had last year if he played the whole season at Oracle 17 yeah 17 home runs last year do you want to take a
Guess what has expected are at Oracle 14 18 one more oh one more okay good for Matt Chapman though guaranteed yourself 54 million and now you’re going to uh have an opportunity if you have a good year to opt out and getting more money so let’s talk the rest of these Scott BS
Free agents as again it’s now March the the calendar has turned to March seems like the year is going by quick but the MLB season will start this month officially start this which is a it’s exciting for us fans but it has to be equally concerning for Scott Boris and
The rest of his bigname free agents like Blake Snell Jord Montgomery and JD Martinez as they are without deals and there is around three weeks left until the season starts and obviously a couple of the Boris clients now with Matt Chapman and Cody Bellinger signing shorter term deals with lots of opt outs
In them which has to be another concern for all the parties who are involved because this process is taking forever and dragging out much longer than usual so Taylor why have these big name Boris free agents been taking so long to sign and then give me your thoughts on this
Bellinger signing with the Cubs as well yeah there was a lot going on this year that I think impacted these free agent signings and I think Boris kind of set the bar too high in what has turned out to be a bit of a weird year for
Baseball as a business uh when most owners are kind of trending towards being more risk averse but obviously Borris is one of the best probably the best agent in the history of baseball at least in terms of getting his clients you know those payday uh but he’s kind
Of been up against this perfect storm of factors that is reduced demand in some of these guys as we’ve seen first of all the offseason got off to a bit of a slow start because everybody was waiting for the Shi Domino to fall because nobody could really do anything until they knew
Where he was going and then after that he obviously set the market value extremely high uh and then Yamoto followed after that and we we mentioned Jung Huli and I even think his contract set the market a little bit High especially in that International Space there’s also the continued reluctance of
All these specifically midmarket owners uh to spend in general because of the uncertainty of these rsns and like the TV Revenue side of things Snell and the forementioned Matt Chapman have also been tied to these these draft pick compensations so when they’re signed it actually cost the team uh draft picks
And in turn Prospect Capital and also specifically with Snell and Monty you know we’ve seen so many pitching injuries over the last couple years and I think that slew of pitching injuries has really turned a lot of teams off to giving these guys longer term deals especially arms that are in free agency
You know usually those are guys that are around the age of 30 teams are really starting to avoid contracts like that and lean more into the younger side of the game because that’s more of a macro pattern that we’ve been seeing over the past couple years is the game is Just
Trending younger you know rookies are are are more prepared for the big leagues when they come up now gunar Henderson Corbin Carroll guys like that like we’re seeing big big performance out of them because we have better scouting and better data and we know how those skills are going to translate into
The big leagues better uh and I think there’s ALS there was also a Common Thread between all these Boris guys which is they they’re all so hard to Value because they’ve had so many varying degrees of success uh over the past couple years and for some of them
Their careers Bellinger’s deal was a great example of of how hard it is to Value these guys because how do you value a guy who won the MVP in 2019 then two years later has a negative 1f War then two years after that which was last year he reinvents himself and puts up
Good surface numbers but then you look under the surface and you’re like this guy wasn’t really hitting the ball that hard and that’s obviously a sticking point for a lot of clubs now on top of that he’s also a gold glove winning outfielder that can also play a gold
Glove first base so how do you put a value on that especially long term like like what’s your risk profile that’s a really hard thing for a club to do and I think for a lot of these guys and belly in particular like I think the market
Wanted to just see another year out of them like can Snell do anything close to what he did last year is Matt chamman going to be able to get his power back is belly is this what who belly is now is he this more contact oriented guy
Because if he can do that consistently there’s a lot of value in that what Bell’s deal did was it basically reset the market now all these teams know like oh shortterm deals are also on the table so we don’t have to risk these longer term deals with these guys that we don’t
Quite know how to Value so I think that is also bringing a lot more team into the fold that Bellinger deal was great for him great for the Cubs and I think it was kind of bad for really all of the other Boris clients because now I think
None of the other teams are really going to accept these longer term deals from from most of these guys yeah I think the point the the main point that struck with me that you hit on Taylor was these guys are so unique as far as their situations entering free agency like you
Describe the situation with Bellinger like he went from arguably the best player in baseball to two years later being arguably the worst player and then he goes back to being a really really good player so again how do you evaluate that like from a team perspective like I I know from a Yankees
Fran perspective like if we would have given Bellinger seven years 200 million like he was asking for before the season I would have been like oh hell like I don’t I’m not comfortable with that you know but again the contract that he got from the Cubs was perfect because it’s
Three years it gives Bellinger an opportunity where if he has another good year next year it kind of proves the teams okay it wasn’t a fluke now we have more confidence in giving him that longer term deal that he’s seeking Montgomery is always solid but he’s never like great in the regular season
So it’s like are we going to give a solid regular season pitcher you know 1880 $200 million I don’t know if you’re willing to do that Blake Snell some years he’s the Sai Young and some years it’s like you can’t throw him more than four Innings so it’s like how like and
He never really goes deep into games so it’s like how much is that worth exactly so it’s all these guys are in such unique situations that it’s like I have no idea how to put a price on any of these unique situations and you saw teams signing guys who were more kind of
Sure things even if they had less upside they were more sure things like the Yankees go get Marcus strowman for two years 37 million where it’s like you know he’s more of a sure thing we know more of what he’s going to get and we
Can kind of sign him for Less right the Giants go get S air for three years 42 million we know we’re going to bring him in we know he’s going to give us pop we know exactly what we’re going to get from him right Taylor I want to get your
Thoughts too do you think this is going to be kind of how the snail and Montgomery deals end up as well like are they going to end up in this shorter term opt out range as well I think the Snell deal will for sure I think Montgomery is a bit of a more
Interesting case because he’s the kind of guy any team could add right now and they would be better one of the things that I think just threw off all of these numbers specifically with Snell and I guess Monty was Yo’s contract yeah I mean you look at Snell and this guy’s
Like I just won the sa young for the second time Major League Baseball this guy’s never thrown a pitch in Major League Baseball and you’re giving him that much and you won’t won’t give me three years right but we do want to talk about these other three Boris clients that are
Still unsigned for the upcoming season and we’re gonna start with hitting wizard JD Martinez who just came off a resurgent Allstar season with the Los Angeles Dodgers and he’s still looking for a home in a 2024 season so Taylor where do you see JD Martinez playing in
2024 being a veteran DH I think he’s one of those guys that can kind of just hold out as long as he needs to because his demand also goes up based on spring training injuries and with the amount of experience he has and the fact that he’s
Not playing in the field like he doesn’t need that much time to ramp up if I had to take a guess I would I would just say he’s going to sign a one-year deal with somebody like the Mets or the Angels because they’re the teams that will pay
Him that much with the Mets they just don’t really have that guy that you need to slot in as the DH like with the angels I’m kind of skeptical because they they’re one of those teams that kind of needs to leave that spot open because they’ve got Mike Trout and it’s
Like they’re going to want to give him some days is off it wouldn’t make a ton of sense for them but also they’re the type of team that would pay for a guy like that and having it not make much sense so I I think the Mets are probably
A safe bet for him on a one-year deal yeah uh I’m going to get to that I also agree I like the Mets as a as a as a good bet for JD to go but um first of all listen all these guys that we’re going to discuss uh besides JD I’m
Bringing up the Yankees just as a warning I have to do it uh they’re actually a fit for all these guys besides JD but for JD uh it’s not a fit obviously we have Stanton clogging up the DH hole many guys plugging up that
Yeah and if he’s going to play if he can still play Outfield we got too many outfielders and it’s just not going to work so uh he’s yeah he’s definitely not gonna be Yankee but second of all as another aside okay if any of these do
Guys do decide to go to the angels their careers are over obviously they’ll be making a lot of money playing baseball that’s every kid’s dream when you’re a kid you want to make money playing baseball but we will forget about all of these players ever existing because that
Franchise is such a dumpster fire so I’m literally not even going to mention them as a destination because I don’t want to wish that evil upon those guys I do not want to wish the Angels evil upon any of these free agents so stay away from the
Angels although I do wish they take as much money as they can I just want them to do that not with the angels okay so a few teams that I would like him on okay the Marlins need JD Martinez okay the Marlins need him right now that lineup
When you look at the Marlins lineup it looks pretty bad okay but you plop a guy like JD in there and it makes it look at least solid okay plus they need to replace solar’s production I think JD would do that I think he would drive in
Luis arise a lot if he was in that lineup so I think that would be a good spot for him also like you mentioned Taylor I think the Mets are probably the best fit for him right now DJ Stewart right now is in their DH hole and he’s
Had some good stretches in the MLB but you look at that lineup one through nine with JD Martinez in it you’re like okay that’s a really good looking lineup with JD Martinez in there yeah so I think that would be probably the best landing
Spot for him if I had to put money on a landing spot for him right now I think it would be the Mets but if he wants to compete for a title how about a team that just won the title how about the Texas Rangers Taylor now I don’t know if
They want to spend any of their money they’ve already spent a lot of money so this may be a completely meaningless discussion but a lineup of guys who get on base and drive in runs enter JD Martinez okay right now their DH is Wyatt Langford obviously as Rangers fans
Know he’s a top five MLB Prospect okay he’s been impressing in spring training and he’s off to a really good start and he’s got a good shot to make the roster and if they acquire JD maybe that makes it tough for him to get a spot maybe
They get a start him in Triple A but they can always move their other top prospect EV Carter to Center maybe played Lang Langford and left and then they have Leo leot tarz who may have been a top 10 center fielder in baseball last year either as a fourth outfielder
In case of injury which is a huge luxury to have or as a trade piece to go get more pitching which obviously they have a lot of injuries to the rotation right now and then try to make another world series run that way so I don’t think
That one’s going to happen but I think that would work best for him as far as a situation where he could go win a title uh and he could be in a really really productive offensive lineup That would be scary to look at if JD Martinez is in
There so I think the Mets are probably the best bet but I think I would like to see him on the Rangers the most there are so many questions about the pitching side of things and like that rotation is going to change so much over the course
Of the year if I were the Rangers and I had the choice of spending million next year for JD or spending a little bit more because you’re going over the luxury tax either way I think they’re right up against it right now or spend a couple million more maybe give out a
Longer term deal to Jordan Montgomery I would lean towards just giving the money to Jordan Montgomery with that our our boy Taylor we got a transition to our boy who we still wish was on our team uh and there might be a marginal chance he might come back to start the season but
Of course we’re talking about Jordan Montgomery who somehow wasn’t good enough to crack the Yankees playoff rotation but was good enough to be the number two starter on a World Series team last year for the Rangers nice work caption or caption cman uh but Taylor where will Jordan Montgomery play in
2024 I keep screwing up all these similar words man it’s been so hard to Value some of these free agents but Montgomery is the one that I think has the more concrete price tag because he has been so consistent since 2021 his expected ER has been 4.06 4.
4.04 so that’s about as consistently above average as you can be as a starting pitcher and he’s proven that he can play in the bigger markets like New York and in the playoffs like we saw specifically in the ALCS he one of those that I think could get a longterm deal
Because of his consistency and I think it behooves him to get one this year because look at the 2025 starting pitching free agent Market there’s a lot more names in that market the Giants are still one of those teams that if you look at their rotation especially with
The horrible news that Tristan Beck is now going to be unavailable indefinitely because he has an aneurysm in his arm and the fact that Keaton win is banged up and the fact that two of of their guys that are supposedly going to be big parts of their rotation in Robbie Ray
And Alex Cobb they’re also banged up and we don’t quite know what we’re going to be getting out of them they need more than anything they need stability in their rotation they need somebody behind Logan web that’s going to be able to be consistent and I think there’s nobody
Better than that than Jordan Montgomery Logan web Jordan Montgomery everything else after that you can afford to have a little bit of risk and especially now that they signed Chapman it just doesn’t seem likely that Snell is going to be the direction they go so I I I feel
Pretty confident about Monty going to the Giants but like I said he is kind of one of those guys that could that any team could use him like any team that can afford him would take him so 100% And I’m gonna I’m going to get into it
Too Taylor I really like the Giants as far as a fit goes for Jordan Montgomery I do really want to see him back with the Rangers I think uh I think a preseason injury to one of their healthy rotation guys which their rotation does not look too good right now without deg
Grom or sherzer by the way it does not look good at all so I think to you know an injury to one of those guys maybe they would pull the trigger on something but again we talked about it with JD Martinez a little bit I don’t know if
They’re going to be willing to open up that pocketbook because they’ve been spending a lot of money as well uh and the other team that I do not want him to go to but has already met with him via Zoom according to Alex Kora is the Boston Red Sox they need someone on
Their entire staff because right now you look at those and they are a few and far between in the rotation right now the projected rotation is currently Lucas G Alo Nick pavetta Brian beo cutter Crawford and Tanner okay that ain’t pretty okay and neither and the bullpen ain’t much better either
So he comes in immediately and is the best pitcher on their entire staff on their entire team and we’ve heard all the comments especially from rafhael De it’s coming about the organization basically saying you know what are y’all do what y’all are doing is not good
Enough get us some more guys go be we got Netflix coming here go get us some players go be the Red Sox go be the Red Sox go do what you’ve been doing over the course of the years they’ve made some bonehead signings they made bonehead signing after bonehead signing
They’ve made bonehead move after bonehead move trading mooki bets letting Xander Bogarts walk it’s awful okay so there is pressure on y’all that’s what Des is saying so go get us some guys to give us at least a chance right now because right now I don’t know how you
Feel about this Taylor but I think they’re clearly and obviously the worst team in the AL East it’s not even close right now that they’re the worst team in the AL East so they need reinforcements and reinforcements bad and I think Monty would be that so I think he’ll either be
A Red Sox or a giant and for his sake I would want him to be a giant yeah but like yeah looking at the Red Sox rotation they also need a lefty like that that is something they’re missing and also looking at the lineup the lineup’s not bad and the lineup could be
Really good I’m really really high on Tristan casus this year uh I like Tyler O’Neal I think that was a good signing for them Von Grom could I mean he’s a highly touted Prospect obviously he didn’t perform exactly how the Braves wanted him to but he’s still got a ton
Of potential you’ve got great bats with masaki yoshita you have story jiren Durant like there are some good bats in here and like I don’t hate any of their rotation necessarily but they don’t have a one they don’t have a two and at best they have a three ifo bounces back but it’s
Also hard for them because they’re in the most competitive division in baseball and there’s so much so much competition above them that they would really have to go above Beyond to match that but I mean like I said Montgomery is one of those guys where I think you
Can sign him like he’s one of those guys that could get a multi-year deal and I think if you’re the Red Sox that’s what you got to be looking at with Monty for sure and I mean Taylor I think you were being nice to a lot of those rotation
Guys I think those are fours or fives I think I think if if you’re if you’re he’s okay but I mean that’s like fine he’s fine but that’s like the the biggest compliment I’m going to give him like you’re all right I think all those
Guys are fours or five I just don’t see anything really you know powerful coming out of that rotation so yeah I think Jordan Montgomery would be a great ad but I think he should be a giant especially we talked about it earlier with Oracle that pitcher friendly Park
Out there I think he could have some some really nice numbers the last guy we got to talk about man we got to finish with another stud Lefty pitcher who is a Scott Boris client and that is two-time Sai Young Award winner Blake Snell coming off one of those two sa young
Seasons last year with the Padre’s but he has still yet not found a long term suor for 2024 and Beyond so Taylor who does Blake Snell play for in 2024 Blake Snell is tough because coming back to this theme of tough to evaluate I mean he’s the poster boy for that he’s
Got two sa Youngs he had a 1.2 erra over his last 23 starts last year a lot of those caught by Gary Sanchez by the way he’s also proven that he can be really effective in the playoffs we saw him pitch some incredible games with the raid is specifically that game where he
Was taken out very unjustly against the Dodgers but we’re not going to get into that right now but the big problem that I have with with Snell and more I guess more specifically with Boris is that they were asking for a contract for a Workhorse and Blake Snell is not really
A Workhorse he’s not going to be a guy that’s going to go too deep into games for you and I read somewhere they wanted 9 years 30 million a year and that’s just Bonkers like I think that just immediately turned off so many potential suitors because they were like we’re not
Even close to that there is absolutely no way that we’re going to be anywhere near that so we’re we’re done see you later hang up the phone and out of all of these guys I think Snell was the one that was most affected by Bellinger’s deal for that reason because I think
This was his real shot to get that long-term deal because at least after this year he has that leverage of I’m a S Young winner last year like I’m I’m worth it this is my second one I’ve repeated it and even though he hasn’t been cons consistent like that upside is
There but obviously I don’t think we’re going to see him get that now because Bellinger kind of opened that door because we we’ve seen a very similar career path from Bellinger there was a lot of talk about him going to the Yankees and I never believed it for one
Second I think that was all just Boris smoking mirrors leveraging whatever you want to call it because it was pretty clear from the beginning that Snell was just not a good fit in New York and based on the fact I mean as soon as they got strowman it was like okay well that
That’s it the Giant still do make sense like I said earlier he kind of makes sense as a pairing to Logan web but they also they still have that risk in Robbie Ray for like a high upside Lefty so it doesn’t really make a ton of sense for
Them to also shell out for Blake Snell there’s also another route this can go and there’s a crazy team I thought of that you’re going to laugh at and probably most people are going to laugh at here and it’s the Braves uh obviously they would take a huge financial hit
Taking on a guy like Snell but in the position he’s in right now he’s got to be in kind of that Fu mentality of like nobody wants to sign me long term fine I’ll prove you wrong and what better way to do that than go to a team that is
Going to be in they’re going to be in the playoffs they’re going to have a deep playoff ront and you look at their rotation they’ve got Strider who’s great and then after that you have Max freed who was banged up last year you got Charlie Morton who’s 40 you’ve got Chris
Sale who’s never healthy and then you’ve got a couple younger guys like AJ Smith Scher could really use a guy like Blake Snell for one year and they could also talk him down to a great aav because they’re going to be like you you’re going to be competing for a championship
This year with us and then you can take that as more leverage into next year if you want that long-term deal so I think it could also go that route as well but unfortunately the team that does make the most sense to me is the angels and
Uh especially because there are so many big free agent free agent starting pitchers next year Corbin Burns Max freed buer Zack Wheeler Bieber Robbie Ray Max Sherer there’s a lot of guys so Snell kind of has to take what he can get right now even if it’s not the
Number he was looking for and now that Otani has left the angels and with trout kind of lobbying for them to bring in some more Talent it makes a lot of sense for them to bring in Snell because it is he is somebody that the fans can get a
Little bit excited about and I think they’re one of the teams that will give him one of those longer term deals so I think I could definitely see him going there for like a 5year 120 million-ish deal which is a little bit more than Robbie Ray’s deal after he won the SC at
Ag30 so I I I if I had a bet that’s the way it could go but I would love to see a more exciting option like him going to the Braves for a year yeah see Taylor I just don’t want to see that so I’m just
Not even going to speak that into the universe because I just don’t want to I don’t want to see Blake Snell’s career go where everyone’s careers go to die and that is the Los Angeles Angels so I don’t want to see that but Taylor you kind of mentioned it with snow like he’s
Got to be feeling so disrespected at this point because he just came off obviously a Sai Young season he’s one of the two or three best pitchers in baseball and nobody wants to give him that long-term deal like you mentioned like for the example the Yankees they’ve
Been flirting with him on and off all season they’ve been treating the defending sa Young Award winner like a side chick that’s how they’ve been treating that’s how they’ve been treating Blake Snell like it’s insane like because he literally just won the sa young but they were over there like
Oh Yamamoto he’s younger and he looks to be a little bit better and they’re like even though he’s a little bit more expensive like the Yankees were all smitten they’re like whining and dining him doing whatever they could to make him a Yankee well they were just sitting
Over there like texting snil on the side just in case you know what I’m saying just in case like I still like you but we got to go after the big fish you know we got to go after him and then obviously Yamamoto goes to the Dodgers
And Snell and Boris get all excited like oh you need me now and they started doing too much they had started asking for things even before they had a first date right so that forces the Yankees to be like hey I got another one I’m talking to right now and Marcus strowman
I really don’t need to be with you I got one over here he wants to be with me he’s down right now and snow snow and Boris thought you know whatever you’re just bluffing tried them enough and then the Yankees were like okay we’ll just take strowman instead of you and then
They kind of you know they called snow and boris’s Bluff and they’re like oh [ __ ] they actually took them we might have done too much and then the Yankees let them marinate on that for a little while and then they came back to him and were like hey we didn’t forget about you
We still want you but you know we just want you to be more reasonable but now it looks like both sides are kind of standing firm and they are going to be you know remain apart so that was a long relationship way of saying they just aren’t compatible okay they’re not
Compatible in terms of that did that stem from like a personal experience with you that was very specific and that seemed like it came out very very naturally AB you’ve gone through what Blake Snell has gone through nope definitely not I’m not going to expound upon that further I’m just going to go
Right into my next point but all the te listen the the teams the teams that he should go with again I’m not wishing the Angels evil on anyone anymore I ain’t going there no matter what if I’m snow I think his two best suitors also end up
Being the Giants and also end up being the Red Sox as well I think whoever signs first between him and Monty the other goes to the other team so I think if Monty signs with the Giants first I think Snell’s gonna end up a Red Sox and
Vice versa I think if Snell signs with the Giants Monty ends up a Red Sox so I think the contract details for these guys are going to be extremely interesting though like is it going to be like we’ve seen with Bellinger and Chapman is it going to be you know one
Of those contract with Ops out op outs included or you know was it just you know is it a just a Bellinger enchantment thing because of their in consistencies but I think it’s going to end up like that and we’ll see maybe it looks bad uh well I think I think it’s
Definitely going to look bad that declin that Yankee offer that was 6 years and you know 160 or whatever it was and then signs for Less total money and less years than he was offered um but it’s going to be man I it’s it’s this whole
Situation has just been crazy so yeah I think Snell either ends up either a Red Sox or he ends up a giant and in Montgomery ends up the other you know so yeah I agree I think that makes a lot of sense and the and the Red Sox also
Seem like one of those teams that might pay him a little bit more especially I mean I joked about it earlier but like that Netflix documentary series is is coming to Boston and I’m sure they would love to have somebody else be part of that and Blake Snell is like the perfect
Guy to be a part of that they need lefties they need I mean they need somebody with upside like I was talking about like I don’t hate any anybody in that rotation but like the upside just isn’t really there for any of those guys and even like with G Alo like obviously
We’ve seen the upside but it’s hard to really believe that that’s going to come back exactly the way he had it but Blake Snell would give them a shot and I think that’s kind of what they need like they’re at the point where they just need to roll the dice and Blake Snell
Would be a great guy for that so that actually over the course of this episode that is actually making a lot more sense to me especially now that we know the Giants have gone with Matt Chapman Montgomery makes a lot more sense for them than Snell Snell’s got to go
Somewhere else I mean I I also hope he doesn’t go to the angels but I feel like they’re probably going to give him the best deal but I think the Red Sox might give him a deal that is similar and hopefully he chooses that in instead of
The Angels yeah I I mean uh I would like I would actually as a as a Yankees fan obviously we’re both Yankees fans I would actually like to see snow on the Red Sox I think that would make for a good uh that would make for kind of a
Good AL East Dynamic it would at least make it interesting because right now that next Netflix documentary is going to be boring as [ __ ] they’re just going to be not in contention all year and maybe it’ll actually be entertaining because it’ll be such a [ __ ] show that
Everybody’s going to be arguing all the time but again it’s not going to be entertaining because they’re not going to be involved in any sort of playoff discussions unless they get some actual pictures in that rotation you know so yeah I think the Red Sox really really need somebody like snow or like
Montgomery they just need someone to come in and give them a little bit of a little bit of something whether it’s consistency with Montgomery or star power with star power with snow yeah just some juice just anything anybody who’s better than a four or five you
Know I think that’s what they need in order to you know kind of make themselves feel at least feel a little bit better even if it doesn’t actually make them better at least feel a little bit better about where they are in the upcoming 2024 season but that is going

Blake Snell to the Brewers.
Glad the yanks didn't get Snell. 6 of his 8 years he never reached 130 innings or 9 wins. Too risky for $30M/year in my opinion.
If Cole's out the Yankees get one.
