Golfing at the golf we’re here Bob and Jim show in life live not live live at Golf Shores Alabama we’re going to talk about golfing in the golf along with our other stuff next on what’s on my George golf Talk back welcome back to what’s my George golf talk Jimmy clear here and Bob and this is what’s in my drawers golf talk I normally point to a drawer where my golf where my golf shop shop at but it’s about oh 800 miles away so we’re not going to do that but what

We’re going to do is talk about Golf Club repairs Golf Club fittings Golf Club reviews all series scores can go low today amongst other things we’re going to talk about golfing at Golf Shores Alabama and we I would show you all kinds of stuff that we did uh last week

Before we left we were busy we got a lot of stuff uh sent out if you guys like to see that kind of stuff uh you can go look at Instagram I am mcolf and it is there and you get to see all the videos all the stuff that we put

Out we were rocking and rolling up until the day that we left and we did we made several sets did several did several sets of grips Robin was uh she had set some sort of world record and of putting stuff out together so also that when we

Get back up with that we’re not so so far behind so that was a good thing for us uh one of the big things I wanted to tell you about is that the the new Acro shafts the FX are now called gxs instead of fxs they’re gxs and we put a set of

Green ones on the uh customer for Kansas and instead of them being black shafted where they are black shafted um with the green wrapping they’re now fully green or fully red or fully blue okay and just to kind of give you an idea that’s the green that we’re

Talking about let me see if I get there we go that’s the fully green that we’re talking about don’t worry about the fact that won’t but that’s what so if you’re looking for something that is silly that is a full color uh they have arranged for you all righty so

We took off we took off Thursday right we took off Thursday took off Thursday drove South to south of Nashville uh spent the night and then rolled in Sun orh Friday rolled in Friday and it was raining the whole entire way and so and uh it was terrible but uh the

Ride was nice very very it did very very well the uh but we started our very first uh our first course well we’re here at the sea wind sea and wind or sea wind sea wind I think sea wind yeah sea wind uh condos and it’s right next to a

Place called The Sea and suds we’ve been calling it the sack of ss if you guys know any of my my cousin Vinnie references and uh seafood and drinks and they uh they make a mean drink I will say that and they they do do pretty good

Uh so we’ve been we’ve been very very fortunate here very nice place it is a very nice place comes with a uh you know two rooms for two couples and then this one has a bunk bedroom in it which is really kind of cool uh but the very first place we went to

Was the KE Kea Dunes right and Kea Dunes is a is well the is a resort course it has big hotel on it uh it’s actually quite friendly it it rates itself as the number one course in Alabama I don’t know if that’s play or by cost or or

Whatever that might be uh I’ve tried to download my computer doesn’t want me to download but some very very nice some very nice pictures uh it’s it’s very wide open if I if I could say I mean this is a good example of what that thing would look like we can get

To here we go so it was uh it it’s very wide open what do you think very nice yeah and uh for this time of year it still not hasn’t grown in yet um it it’s still there’s some dormy still out there here’s I mean this is what you

Get right this is that’s a fairway it’s really hard to miss and that probably that’s the reason why it’s you know even when you hit an errant shot yes it’s an errant shot but you’re not getting in too much trouble and uh it’s an 18 hole

Course some of them are 27 some of them well that’s 18 or 27 yeah but Kaa um not bad very friendly folks service was really nice they’re very outgoing turns out when we were there that the owner of the place was golfing with them and we ran into him you would

Have never known he was the guy uh just like anybody else that was out there that was kind of neat uh apparently he owns several golf courses and he got his money from Co mines so he’s straightforward kind of guy said he owned 14 golf courses is that what it

Was you guys were saying 14 14 yeah so they had that um uh the greens are actually rolled pretty well right the sand was very soft it was very well manicured I will say that even and it was even kind of wet we’re still in kind of the we’ll call it

The storm weather belt right now where it it can rain any day and for the last two days we’re on we’re on the 14th floor and and you couldn’t see the beach for the fog now you go in a half a mile it’s clear as a day but you go in you go

In and to the right here you literally couldn’t see it would come in go out come in go out and it so is that kind of weather so halfway through the your game is all dewy the other half is dried out hopefully y so and we got that one and

For the cost for it I thought it was pretty fair oh yeah pretty fair and of course that was my first round of the year and it showed the first four or five holes it looked like I didn’t know which end of the golf club to hold but

Uh we got we got through it and got paired up with a couple of guys from Louisiana yeah and uh a pilot and a lawyer and uh it was kind of fun we had it’s it’s funny when you go to these places the people that you meet because

He was representing some people from East Palestine yes and uh which is uh you know in Ohio where we’re from and so we got to talking to him about that a little bit Y and and that was pretty cool and we learned a little bit about

Piloting and to so that was that was always cool the uh the second one was what is the second Golf Course Golf Shores uh Country Club Country Club that’s it the country club what do you think of the country club I really liked it yeah it was said it’s dormant down

Here right now so I like the layout yeah you know so this one this course does not get a lot of it doesn’t get a lot of love it just doesn’t it doesn’t get a lot of love uh it’s not as well it’s probably the biggest thing is it’s not as well

Maintained as the other courses that are around here yeah but the layout the actual layout where the turns and the undulations the sand everything is in the right place it truly is when it when it would be not brown and be gray or green uh I think would be really nice it

With a little bit of love put into that I think it could stand up with the rest of them it really could oh easy yeah yeah now again it doesn’t have you know and I’m not a big fan of you got to go into the clubhouse and you got to do

This well 99 times out of 100 for most of these clubhouses you’re getting when you’re you’re getting C shooted into the clubhouse and you don’t get to see the or through the clubhouse and go into the Pro Shop you don’t really see the clubhouse so big deal looks neat from

The outside that’s not where I’m playing golf right and this one is and this one is older it was one of the first golf courses down here so of course it’s got an older Clubhouse it’s very nice inside it’s just older and if it would had uh

It would have had just if it had a little TLC go its way and remove if we could fair if you guys know it look like these little clumps of I don’t know almost like crab grass yeah is that what it look like yep little clumps of crab

Grass on the greens it didn’t affect the way that it rolled it just didn’t look right and and and again everything else it as far as grass growing it wasn’t much different than any of the other ones we’ve played on so right now right now it’s not too bad

So uh that’s not that’s not too bad we would go with that one uh we also saw some community college girls golf teams they were getting ready to have a they’re having a match today and tomorrow I think it looked like a pretty big one there was at

Least six six or seven six or seven whole teams the the team bus or the college bus was there giving them a ride so it was very cool so if you happen to be down here and you’re kind of stuck in between places to go uh it’s also less

Expensive and and it’s in you know in scale with all the rest of them it’s not a bad track it really is I just don’t think it gets enough love whoever’s running that website needs to update their stuff and maybe you know get a little bit more a little bit more behind

It in the in the way of dealing with some of the Oddities that are out there but the rest of it was very very nice right so that that one was actually pretty nice we did to again uh I started off in a terrible terrible

Way and then and then end up getting my head out of my backside and actually playing pretty decent on the back I got to play some golf on the backside for a change and then today we played Peninsula yeah now Peninsula is three nine-hole courses right yeah what

Were the three Marsh the lakes and oh what was the other one what did we play that was the last one Marsh we played Marsh first yeah Lakes was in the middle we didn’t play that one uh Cyprus Cyprus yeah we played Cyprus and it’s a tale of three

Different kinds of golf courses uh the marsh was the longer one a little bit more I don’t know I thought Marsh was a little more manicured it was a little bit more grown in it seemed a little bit more mature and where Cyprus it kind of

Gave you the vibe of a I know we’re really close to it but like a Floridian course lots of trees that had the the Moss and stuff hanging off of it and uh it wasn’t too bad I mean it wasn’t like I say oh it was all no it wasn’t that at

All it was just the uh we’re getting ready to get a big rain shower just an absolute monster rain shower here tomorrow and so the weather is pushing in today and how many hole well let’s put you know normally how you have wind with you or against you yeah with you

Against you how many holes did we have wind with us two two out of 18 two out of 18 the rest of it was in our face and it was and it was a two to three Club win all day long oh easy yeah so 150

Yard shot was a 175 yard shot not even thinking about it uh that’s just what it was right it was a very very uh it was just a very very trying day and so from the last time we were down here to this time you know they they warn us greens

Are super fast greens are super fast green super fast and we puted on their putting green and the greens are super fast yeah like putting on a pool table and uh and we did you you just Tink and off it would go yeah and what we do we

Got out there and the Ping was absolutely nothing like it uh I don’t know I’m not sure how one would be able to tell the uh how would if it was slow or it was fast because what was happening was the wind was blowing through it and it was drying off the

Greens and so you would have one in an area that was protected that it you would putt it and it was like you’re putting uphill the whole way yeah and then you get on one that was out in the open and it was just slick his eyes and it was hard to really

Gauge a level of consistency well you had one there he’s putting downhill was probably 40 or 50 feet and didn’t get there that’s how slow it was yeah well we stopped so this time we picked up another tusome uh that were from Michigan yep tuome from Michigan and they are both

Retired a a a dentist a specialist and a a guy has to deal with the paper industry and and both Good Guys in fact both both sets of folks that we played with super nice guys it was a lot they were a blast both were a blast there was

A lot of fun and uh that’s the part of that we like we like getting up there and and meeting the new folk because you get to hear different experiences it’s just a lot of fun uh but you know in places where when you’re being told that the greens are

Super speedy and you have these undulations where and and the the hole is on downhill and you stop the ball on a downhill some some not right yeah some is not right and uh but so far so good so we got both Craft Farms that that are

In uh in the lineup before we leave and then uh depending on how the schedule works out we’re going to run up to uh Seville on our way back instead of the way we came up spend the night severville if we get up early enough and

There’s time we might sneak out into a course at sville if it’s available we’ll see and we’ll go from there so so far which one’s the favorite oh Kea Dunes by by far I thought so yep ke Dunes is always good ke so again as you as normally as we rate

Courses uh you know the the normal the normal golfer will rate the course based on their golfing experience and which is related to their score yep related to their score and today we wouldn’t be relating our score I’m not a good win player and it was blowing 40 m hour the wind was

Easily yeah and it was it was going in there you had to really really trust so Bob hits a high ball and and I do not so I get through the wi pretty decent uh Bob has to hit if I’m taking two he needs to take three yeah and that’s just

How high he hits it and and with playing in the wind is a real trust right you really really have to get over the fear of thinking that you’re just going to knock it over the green and and not just front to not just front to back but also

Left to right if you got the Crossway going on uh I puted one today and as it was going up to the hole the wind gusted and push the golf ball backwards yeah that’s the kind of win that we were playing in today so again I don’t think you go bad with the

Peninsula although it would be a depending on your skill level as far as as far as skill levels go would it be what would you pick first second or third so far of as far as skill level yeah if you were just well if you didn’t have to play in the

Win it would be a whole whole different ball game but just like the KE of Dunes we didn’t have the win to play in right and it’s just hard for me to play and win because like I said I hit the ball so high that it’s it’s hard to judge you know

Your distances but I’d like to play that uh pinula when it wasn’t when it wasn’t windy so Gusty that’s another thing down here I don’t know if there’s going to be a day where it’s not going to be Gusty that’s because we’re sitting right on the ocean

That’s always another issue as well so we got that so if I’m if I’m you guys and I’m an average golfer which I am and you want to get around the courses as far as levels of difficulty go I would think by Far and Away Kea would be

Number one I would think that the club the country club would be number two and Peninsula would be number three be and it’s not that Peninsula is bad by any shape of imagination I’m just talking about there are some very generous Fairways well there’s on there as well

There is as well as on the peninsula but but as a whole the the ones at ke are just more friendly and the way that it’s cut and here’s the other part about it at Kaa when they have they have the trees you know they’re they’re manicured up so

That if the ball was going under a tree you would find it okay and if you weren’t look at you get over here somewhere here we go and get you into this uh is it g to is it following me nope it’s not okay anyway

The um and and so you don’t lose your ball as much now you you go to both the country club and and Peninsula and it’s more foresty meaning that it or swampy as the case may be where there all the foliage is not manicured and if it goes

In there and you go in more than a foot you’re taking your life in your own hands yeah and and we ran up on an alligator there today so you know you got that’s the difference of it is all I’m saying but all three so very nice so

When we get back we’ll talk about uh we’ll talk about Craft Farms and see how we go from there all righty last bit is last bit is uh is the golf ball so we’ve been kind of playing around you’ve been watching um you know the hopefully been watching

The videos matter of fact as we talked about that like And subscribe hit that Bell across the bottom tell your friends tell your neighbors that kind of stuff so that they can hear some more of this so golf balls we’ve been playing around so Callaway sent me some

Chrome tours which is I.E the chrom soft XLS is supposedly and and then we got some Wilson staffs and and uh Bob is taking kind of a shine to the Wilson mall all the Wilson balls suits my game perfectly so what were you playing before trick sollins the Q Stars yep the

Q stars and before that what was the other one you were playing Chrome uh the erc’s yeah the chrom soft erc’s so you can tell the area the area that the ball works best for Bob is he’s a solid ball Striker uh you know the swing speed is

Not the tour level but he’s a solid solid ball Striker so the qar was working really good the ERC was working really good and we tested for the staff ball and between the X and the S if you saw in the video uh the X ball was significantly shorter significantly shorter right and

So that so we saw the numbers and we thought well let’s test them out right and we went and played I I got a I got a couple dozen he got a couple of dozen and we went out and played them particularly Kea and it flew as good as

Any golf ball we’ve ever hit as far as I’m concerned oh the it the Wilson just went on on beyond what I’ve hit before so I was really happy with it yeah so it’s uh it’s it grabs right yeah it grabs it spins it spins really well and I mean it

It stop the ball stop and the uh and it punts very well you dropped he he was lighting up he was lighting up ke Dunes from everywhere man and this normally he does anyway but he was lighting them up everywhere the uh uh he did pretty good at the did

Pretty good at the Country Club he was knocking him in so as the running joke and I know we’ve said it a dozen times before the running joke for me on Bob is if it’s about 40 foot out I give it to him but but if it’s three foot in he’s

Putting he’s absolutely putting and uh and he showed and the guys that we were golfing with they kind of looking at us like what and no more than he’ just throw one in from 40 50 foot out I said I told you I told you and uh that was

Going uh today the putting was not good for either one of us and I think a lot of it really was the just the inconsistencies of the green you were really you really hard pressed to be able to walk up and know I’ve got to hit

It like this in order to get it to go that far because either it would go way much it would go way further or it would go really really short it was very rarely the same and I don’t know how one would read a green the other one is uh

We the Chrome tour now that was on me I played the Chrome tour and I put I laid down a couple of X balls to hit and comparison and the Chrome tour blows it out of the water okay the uh the Chrome tour again being the replacement of the

Ls is it going to be like a whole club longer no is it going to spin a little bit better yes uh but the difference that is just shocking me is that the feel of this golf ball in the in the beginning when you had the chrom soft and the chrom soft

XLS it was you know like hitting a sponge and hitting a rock right and now that leveled out the uh the cro the Chrome tour is a much easier hitting ball and still getting those same results so and it and the Wilson Staff is very much in comparison with it so

You have some very good golf balls depending on if you’re brand loyal uh and you’re a Callaway person uh you’re not going to be disappointed because the the tour the soft and the Tour X should all feel a ton better this year all right so we got all those so here we go

We’re starting at the top Emanuel Hopefully the rain will stop and I can walk 18 tomorrow helping a friend clean out his garage he gave me a set of mauno teids teids are nice uh mx2s Wilson Casper Prestige oh my God sweet clubs oh nicely done those

Things are sweet man you go out there with with your game Emanuel with your game could probably go out there and run them run run a pretty good number on them and particularly the the teids I don’t know the teids for mauno is like the Ping i2s for Ping oh okay they never

They it’s just that it’s always that you know when you go back and everybody goes oh ping I really love those ping i2s when you get the teids they’re like oh man that was a really great club that was all the way that was all the rage alrighty Jim Anderson good morning

Make that much of a difference and all of a sudden it it does they’re striking it better they’re hitting it further and and the words come out of their mouth I didn’t think that that would make that much of a difference or is something simple as Li angle where your quality of

Hit is just changes it’s all those or a heavier Shaft or a lighter shaft for that matter then it’s break King the mold I call it myth busting but and they get that light bulb moment that’s my favorite because is a process the process but I like watching the people

React when they do it all right oh by the way nice round dude 69 that’s awesome really all right Dean Walker what do you say buddy course was sloppy and enjoyed walking and playing 18 started out 56 and end at 74 it’s kind of what it was

Here yeah we started out it it was probably one of the coldest 60 degree weathers we’ve seen and one of the warmest 72s we’ve ever been in yeah fact got a little you can’t tell there but I got a little bit of a sun it’s either windburn or sunburn I’m not sure which

One I’d say today was wind yo today was alrighty Charlie what do you say buddy every did your golf courses survive all that weather pz in the MC golf peeps H little buddy Peter what do you say Bob was dropping him just like he did in front of you buddy it’s it’s like

A thing he just can’t stop doing it and it was hit he was hitting it really really really really well and uh 75 and 77 W slain it absolutely slain it Bob got a new set of clubs what we get you into smoke yep the high launcher yeah

Yeah so Bob is now gaming a new set of irons the smoke AI High launches and with the uh the ciphers in them and we went down on the size of the jumbo Max went down the size to basically a small a little bit more maneuverable but the

One thing that really surprised me that he gravitated towards I was really kind of surprised and he is just absolutely throttling this club is the new sandwich oh my got dead in the middle of the club and it’s going further is it oh yeah it’s crazy how that does that so we

Got him the CB the the Callaway CB uh sand wedge and if you guys are not familiar with it CB is cavity back it has a very wide sole on it about yay but what it is it’s more of a it’s a beveled Soul so it starts this way and it goes

Back that way and so that you can still get under the ball but you don’t really get too stuck no not and plays good out the sand oh geeez yes it does and he’s a he’s a good sand player anyway but uh he’s just thumping it now

And what you get is a since it’s cavity back you get this little bit more spring effort and uh you get up and and it’s droing you know normally he he gets a stop drop and roll and it and it’s doing very very well so that’s pretty

Cool my dog Rex says it’s 70 in Ohio really yes wow it always happens to us it’s nice as in Ohio as it is here alrighty Warren’s golf what do you say buddy Mr John Cherry we’re down in your neck of the woods now man he’s down in

Florida not too far from him yep Charley tucking nice rounds Emanuel breaking 70 is Championship caliber golf Matt well done indeed and I guarantee you when he’s playing Emanuel he’s not playing from the white te’s either he plays from the big boy T’s so he’s saying something there’s Dan the Bango

I’m sure M we got to go see florama I think it’s a must uh depending on the weather we probably go see Fort Morgan and then whatever else comes after that we’ll just play it by ear it’s just a day off day off to go around so we have this little tradition

Everybody gets to pick dinner oh yeah everybody picks their dinner and for the group so Mrs McGolf had theirs Penny’s had hers Bob has had his tomorrow is mine yep so that tomorrow’s birthday boy that’s the reason why yes and uh so what we had we’ve had uh we had pizza from papar

Rokas best pizza I’ve ever ate and it we did I had the this like sampler platter it was really good it was really good we ate it that sea and suds that was a you know was really kind of good we had some seafood of some variety it was it just

An older establishment mom and pop and there’s a whole bunch of people coming in and out they did a good job uh where else did we go oh we did the Sunliner Diner today yeah that was good 50s restaurant did a little chicken waffles action that was pretty good and

Then what else did we do we did one more did we do one more where did we go no that was it because Robin hadn’t picked yet oh okay so we got round we got rounds to go Manuel talking there Matt saying thanks that’s the best way to go about

It I Pi tacky Jack tacky jacks that’s it tacky jacks tacky jacks is a little hole in the wall that’s near the water on the river not too bad pub food action you have fun on the gym on the go oh they always have it it’s whether or not they

Golfing you have no idea sometimes uh oh when we get what ch Christ got himself a ping pal for brillium copper putter they finished with some Copper Pot oh I bet that thing is nice and shiny that those things play pretty good no matter what he wants to know how it

Rolls now does it roll better than that one that you’re putting into the uh putt out pardon me that yes putter that you were throwing all over the place oh wait there we go we’re going back I missed one Emanuel so is it your birthday or Bob’s either way happy

Birthday his I’ve had enough tomorrow 61 tomorrow 61 tomorrow I tell you what you’re not you’re not lying Charlie it’s a on this on this particular Hotel there’s another five more floors and a penthouse oh six I think it’s 20 FL is the 20 I thought it was only 19 okay penth

Houses and uh well yeah the 20th yeah right and uh so they had the uh but it’s nice they got some man eating uh elevator doors here though yeah good gravy man if you don’t get your butt in there it’s closing down on you

Yeah we got we got you see what they did to me they got the stuff behind me and then there’s there’s some balloons on the walls and stuff three fours plus a garage there it is no doubt dude no doubt well based on the hot air that they

Expel that probably didn’t take them too long to blow up these blow up these balloons too much all right oh yeah we see what happens plus they don’t hear the Spring Breakers that’s a fact so right now the weather is not conducive to a lot of spring

Breaking now what they’ve also done is down here in the Gulf Shores areas they instituted an alcohol band on the beach and it’s all runs through the end of April so no alcohol on the beach which oh pardon me which uh is probably a good thing from a

Safety point of view yeah you don’t get people being stupid doesn’t stop them from going to the edges the beach where the bars are at and sitting there and doing it but hey it puts it right there walked two miles the day and didn’t hurt to blow them up oh yeah

She’s GNA brag about that two miles all day today oh there’s Peter Peter donated to the cause thank you sir I appreciate it that will certainly go towards the uh Peerless Rye that I am I ball in here at the local liquor store for sure had some

Of the Peerless in the regular bourbon is very very nice no we did not we only played the 18 they uh what they do is they cycle through right they cycle through the uh the three so it kind of keeps the wear of the course down and I think what it

Does it also gives them if their members wanted just to get a quick nine in that they could run into the one that’s not being used Peter thank you so very much sir I appreciate it oh Gabby must be on yeah no it’s really weird Charlie the

Uh the the the way that the the greens are rolling right now I think it has a lot to do with you know we had a lot of mist a lot of a lot of mist a lot of fog and a lot of do and I think that really played a lot

Yeah it did I mean when it came off what we even saw at at Kaa when they when they went to make the turn and it got nice yeah all of a sudden we hit one putt right by the hole like wh it dried off which is like right now you you

Can’t see the can’t see the ocean as we’re looking out right now and uh earlier today you could see 100 yards out into the water now you can’t even see the beach so I think that has a lot to do with the way that the that the greens are

Rolling Charlie I do have all kinds of photos I just I got uh I’d like to show you I could show you a few but uh for some reason the this computer which is not the one I normally use does not like taking uh a lot of pictures or

Downloading the pictures let’s see if I can show you a good one this one was a uh this is kind of in the back this was on Cyprus Cypress had a lot of this right that’s where the marsh was where you get where you’re hitting over a

Bunch of marshin which you would think that Marsh was doing it but there was a lot of a lot of stuff in the way on a t-box shot uh that was that one let’s see what else that was about it the now this one I really this was again

This is really kind of funny this was the country club y there was the country club I mean I’m telling you the layout of the country club was really nice and from a distance I mean for even a guy like me that was a is a you know Junior woodchuck

Photographer uh could make this place look really really nice I mean that’s what you’re seeing it’s that kind of stuff right let’s here you go it’s that kind of stuff and uh just s just I mean uh just really really nice and then uh let’s see I found some dinosaurs for my

Grandson and this is kind of this is ke dunes and you can see where it’s brown because it hasn’t grown in just yet so like I said when I get back to the other one I can download it we can go over all of that one but uh very nice to be
