Say Love Hurts for quarterbacks I think the toughest part of the transition from the college to the pros is both the mental part of the game and learning to be a leader amongst men at 212 22 years old these guys are they’re kids being asked to work with 35 36 year old dudes

And lead them and while a quarterback needs reps to develop as a passer work on timing and chemistry all of that minute [ __ ] that makes football awesome letting a guy hang around the organization just be in the building for 3 years to get familiar with the coaches

And the players make them comfortable in their environment that’s the Packers formula for QB success and it’s hard to argue nor you draft a quarterback how you play him right away so and you look at what we did with Aaron and what we did with Jordan um I think gives them a

Chance to be successful correct you you know you see it a lot talented young quarterback plays right away loses confidence um and you know sometimes they never get back I think it’s a lot easier to lead after you feel comfortable in your environment especially as a very young man and the

Other thing that it takes is continuity in the coaching staff that’s something the Packers have done pretty well it’s something that if you’re changing coaches and coaching staffs with a Young quarterback you’re going to Doom them listen to Tom Brady talk about it I was a beneficiary of a lot of coaching

Changes over the years because we were beating teams they couldn’t get over the hump they were all trying to beat the team that I played for and when they couldn’t they end up firing the coach which in the end helped us even more so you know you think sometimes you’re

Solving a problem by firing the coach I don’t know sometimes you do sometimes you can create more problems too continuity now if love had played say the entire season like he has in the back half he would be talked about as an MVP candidate deservedly so if you want

To actually explore the meaning of the word valuable rather than how we treat the award which is who’s the best quarterback on the best team who’s got the best stat stats on the best team but of course you can’t just come out out of the gates and play at an MVP level
