Sean Casey, PGA Teacher of the Year and Golf Digest Top 4 Teachers in Canada demonstrates a drill to help you improve your golf swing impact position. By learning to stay down and maintain your posture through impact you will improve your contact and hit the golf ball longer.

With this drill, a chair or something similar should be used to help you improve your awareness of your butt and mid section. The key is to avoid thrusting your hips in towards the golf ball which causes you to raise the handle and steepen the plane. The other thing to be aware of is your upper body, chest and head. It is important to keep your chest over the ball and avoid pulling up and away as you swing through the impact zone.

Start by practicing this drill at home to get a feel for it before doing it at the driving range. When doing the drill at the range with golf balls, swing slower to improve your sense of feel and awareness.

Body positioning is the key to improving your golf swing and to being able to deliver the club better through the impact zone.
