Night on the driving range of the match yeah we got we got Rory kind of warming up there we got Rose Zang freshh out uh doing still doing work at Stanford and then we got uh you know DJ khed of course you know he just fits
Right in perfectly you know he’s got a great golf swing there and uh all of that we could do a little work on it but uh yeah no it’s uh DJ khed is everywhere golf is right now and he took on Charles Barkley in a one hole deal there was
Something out there that no laying up sh set out that you know uh that he thought he was actually playing in like the ACT ual match match and so uh maybe he was a little disappointed no I will say I will say this Rd um there are a lot of guys a
Lot of entertainers that uh are really starting to elevate the game of golf but the match was started to have two of the best or four of the best in the game talk trash be miked up be under the lights I didn’t even know it was going
On last night till I saw Steve Scott’s post and with all due respect to Rory and Max and Rose and it just to me either we do it and we do it star studded or let’s not do it I’m more on the let’s not do
It I got to back up just a little bit the one good thing was DJ khed out of Dr Phillips high school and here in Orlando Florida AKA Harvard of the South same place that this guy graduated high school from so I got to represent there

Okay but there’s not going to be any Trash talk out there and I guess yes it’s for charity and yes some Charities made out very nicely last night but wow as far as turning on TV full snoozers when you look at last night and say what you want but the producers of

That to me is a problem and we also found out as much as we love Tiger Woods that there’s a reason his dad protected him all those years and because of that he’s not a good trash talker either and I love Tiger but a lot of these players
They complain about I don’t have any sponsorships I I don’t have any stuff off the but then you get a chance to be on national TV and show your personality and you have none maybe the agents to start working with the players so they can learn how to entertain and edate
Because that is not it Steve yeah some of the some of the timing was a little bit off I mean if they’re trying to get into the game and they’re trying to play their hardest their mind is kind of there we actually saw that with TL
Hatton we had had him on PJ Tour live uh on the Range last year and TL Hatton is a crackup he is so funny but we had him kind of in a little bit of a box and we asked him some questions and uh you know
It was just kind of dry it was not that tur Hatten that we knew of so uh a little bit like that last night but I I watched watched it personally for the golf course I I’m a golf course nut uh architecture geek Gil Hance did a really
Cool thing there I I played as a public golf course I played it back in December and it’s pretty awesome uh as far as a public golf course a lot of holes out there almost feel a little bit like seol uh up the road there in Palm Beach so
It’s a cool golf course I I watched it for the golf course more than the golf Joey says golf needs characters like faces and heels Joey there is no question that as we move forward in 202 for it that’s exactly what we need especially on some of these weeks where
There’s other stuff going on you want golf to be elevated so Rd as we shift our Focus to this week one of the guys that played last night Rory mroy he’s about to get very very busy in fact he’s gonna play in the next three events this one the Arnold Palmer Invitational and
The PLAYERS Championship so three in a row from Rory as he’s clearly telling all of us that I want to be ready to go when a gusta gets here it’s it’s smart it’s time to do it he’s still not an old man but let’s face it what else is there
To be done in this sport for Rory maroy has a shoe in Hall of Famer no question about it he’s one of the richest dudes to ever uh come out of the sport one of the winningest players of all time but a green jacket puts him in the elite of
The Elite field the the Grand Slam career Champions it makes Rory maroy the single great greatest hands down European player of all time it’s passes sevy passes falo I’m sorry guys I love both of you but a grand slam makes him better than you guys so really that’s
What it is all about he’s won the API I know he wants to get his game ready it’s it’s going to be tough as hell the rough’s longer than my hair and then he loves the players he’s one there it’s it’s a that’s kind of a mixed bag you
Know that that course can can uh play easy little soft it can play hard as hell but it’s not about that it’s not about getting those trophies anymore it’s about preparing himself as best he can from now until he finally puts on a green jacket or retires for Augusta each
Year yeah he also won on this particular Golf Course back in 2012 so the next three weeks he’s been successful Steve you and I went out to look at the Players golf course at TBC Saw Grass just a couple of weeks ago it’s in pristine condition some would say maybe
To pristine condition for the level of that particular event but for Rory and the mindset that he’s in this is his third start on the PJ tour this year he started twice overseas he’s already won overseas he says his game is very very close he’s also gonna play one of the
Events in Texas that’s four times before the Masters is that too many just right well he’s trying to mix up the formula uh you know to this point he hasn’t gotten that formula right he has not uh put on that green jacket like you’ve been talking about so he’s trying to mix
It up he’s trying to be as ready as he could possibly be uh I mean look he’s still young he’s he’s relatively injuryf free so you know might as well go out there and be as ready as you can uh he’s a prohibitive favorite this week so he
Should be uh right up there on the leaderboard he wants to get in contention you know that when he walks down that that final uh Day on Sunday at Augusta National if he is in somewhat contention he wants to have felt that very recent uh to that instead of
Several weeks prior so I think that this is a really good thing for Rory maroy to to get out here and play and you know don’t Tire yourself out necessarily but you know be ready he he talked about working you know he’s working on his
Game really hard right now and so he can just kind of once he gets towards the players just to kind of maintain it through March because he doesn’t want to be searching for something late March or or one week before the Masters comes so uh Rory’s uh you I like what he’s doing
He you know if you keep doing the same thing over and over that’s a nefsh of insanity so we we don’t want that there is no substitute for being in the fire at any golf event I don’t care what you’re talking about and that’s what he wants especially um according to Steve
Now a man who has not been in the fire for over a decade and I gotta be honest with you guys when I saw this a few weeks ago I thought it was Greg Norman and Liv GF just trying to get some hype for their particular golf tour it’s no
Longer hype Rd I’m going to start with you Anthony Kim a man who was a rder cup player he was a dynamic young player and then he had some issues and it kicked him right out of the sport he has committed and now Liv’s gonna be having
More than just 48 players it looks like anyway but Anthony Kim will be back in competition on the live tour in Saudi Arabia kind of tell the good people at home who this cat was and what you expect after so long being out of the game this guy was a superstar and it’s
Not because he was a great golfer which he was he was fantastic and a very good player there’s no taking that away from him but he was one of those personalities he was a guy that might get photographed by the the the paparazzi coming out of the The Viper
Room in in LA or something like that so and he was a guy that wore these big bling belt buckles all the time so he was just a different character golf as we’ve already said needs some of those different characters now the problem with what’s going on
Here is well one if you’d have told me Anthony Kim’s coming back I you might as well said you’ve got footage of Bigfoot or UFO circling it’s it’s not gonna happen it’s ridiculous it’s just a myth it looks like it’s not a myth so you’ve got one of the true needle movers maybe
A guy that outside of tiger maybe somebody else people are going to literally tune in to watch I want to see what Anthony Kim does I don’t have any expectations for him but here’s my question why bury him in a Saudi Arabian tournament where the where we’re gonna
Have to watch it on a tape delay why why put him there where where all the people in America are gonna have to watch uh you know stay up all night they’re not gonna stay up all night for it they’re gonna have to watch it on tape delay
They’re already going to know uh what he shot how he played and that’s got to take some of the the kind of I I guess sting out of Anthony Kim’s uh new debut second career let’s say I’m not even sure how at this point live you you should have pretty good marketing guys
How they don’t have a TV deal yet is beyond me but Steve to rd’s point this is one of the rare dudes where years ago all of us regular guys and I’ve been very open that in my 20s in my WWE days there was many a night most nights where
I’d walk out of the club and the sun was out and this is the dude that did that and he still was able to win multiple times he was still able to be part of a Ryder Cup he still got land blasted by other Ridder Cup players because of how
He acted at said Ridder cups and now he’s back and Saudi Arabia is the place that you’re G to relaunch his career what if he has an amazing comeback and he plays great people don’t watch tape delay anymore that’s just the thing from 1995 do you agree with Rd just said that

Not seen him so it will be very interesting to see him put that uh that tournament peg in the ground and and what he can shoot who don’t who knows and let’s be honest back in 20 8 2009 you didn’t have the college studs coming
Out like you did now you don’t have 2020 old dudes like Tom Kim lud Vic oberg all these guys it’s a different world now it’s a different world it’ll be really interesting but guess what we’re talking about him we’re talking about Liv on this show like a lot of places are
That’s called star power and that’s what he brings if he can play great though think about the amount of money he could make think about the sponsorships that’ll come running to him the comeback story the Feelgood story all that going down to the trenches down to the depths

Which is called first round leaders last week you had a pretty good week on an off week so to speak on the PGA tour didn’t you I was pretty happy uh with with some of my picks I knew the long bombers were going to come to play and
Jake knap uh who I didn’t really have enough juice on I had him only in the top 20 so uh and he end up winning the darn thing so but I knew the long hitters were going to succeed last week and they did I was three and0 in my
Head-to heads uh two and0 in my in the top 20s and one to one uh in the top 10 picks so hopefully you tailed me again last week uh hopefully I got the same Mojo here at PGA National this week we’ll see Rd this man who a year ago
Didn’t even know what a first round leader in the odds were and now he’s one of the Great Golf World in the world all right we have five different segments here on dtl Golf and not everybody has to pick something in everyone so first round leaders and Steve you’ve kind of
Hesitated this week so you’re GNA sit this one out but Rd I’m staring at two two different names and last week we were heavy on one of them Stephen joerger let’s start there well Stephen Jagger I I really with this one I’m going with the hot hand you know he’s
Plus 5,000 but he uh shot 65 his final round at Mexico he has uh been under 70 his last five rounds now another thing about him though is you think well he doesn’t have a great history here but I don’t think that for Stephen jger course
History me means a whole lot because he was uncomfortable in his own skin he was one of those guys that dominated on corn faery and then would get out and lose his card promptly on PGA Tour so I think he’s now finally comfortable in his own
Skin comfortable where he is and and is gonna just play well here and and happy to be a PGA Tour player but playing really well and also went with big Bo Hustler he’s a chipping and putting specialist which normally isn’t what you would look for here at at at PGA
National but we’re talking first round leaders we’re talking guys that can go out and and make some birdies early and he of 19 rounds this whole season he’s broken par 15 of them so the odds are strong that he’ll have a few under par maybe maybe get an extra birdie or two
Late and uh get himself on top of that leaderboard at the end of the first round you know bull Hustler plays a lot about five miles from where I’m sitting right now him and Michael block and all these really good Southern California players for whatever reason I never get
Invited to the games I don’t know what it is don’t know what it is but I don’t but he’s one of the guys that we talk about when we say hey you want to have the sponsorship deals you want to have companies come and want to be a part of
Your world show me that you’re excited to be here it’s like a snooze Fest come on Bo let’s have a good first 18 holes now Steve Scott doesn’t want that to happen because Steve Scott has two other players including the young man who won on the west coast already this year
Steve let’s start with him well let’s start with Matthew Pavone everybody’s favorite Frenchman there at plus 6,000 uh and I picked both of these players for one key reason they are both playing in the morning they’re actually both playing in the same group both he and Shane Lowry Lowry just a little lower
Odds there at at plus 5000 7:29 a.m. off the back nine now keep in mind this week they’ve actually changed the 10th hole which they’re starting on from a very long difficult par for into a very reachable par five so the players are usually probably going to
Get started off with a birdie on that one and and they’re going to be able to play most importantly they’re going to be able to play that bear trap the most difficult holes in the golf course that just gobble up rounds they’re going to be able to play them when the wind is
Low because it again my meteor meteorological skills are coming into play because they uh the wind is going to be up all the all the way from the afternoon on Thursday and it’s scheduled to be very high on Friday Friday morning as well so I’m really looking if you
Don’t pick any of these guys I would definitely go for players who are in that early and then late wave in the first two rounds this week no matter who you pick but I like Lowry and Pavone in the first two in the first round remember that a Florida morning is much
Different than a California morning it gets hot fast and quick uh big cheesy likes Luke list as a first round leader plus 6,000 if you feel so inclined played pretty well at the Genesis before letting it all slip away as a deim Matsuyama went absolutely Banas now if

He really hits a really heavy golf ball and he hits that patented fade and I think there’s so many of these holes on the back nine that really favor the fade really in my estimation seven of the last eight approach shots into the greens favor the fade so I I like him in
That respect um and norin is sixth in bogey avoidance this season which is huge around here because they’re Bogies and double Bogies waiting at every turn so Alex noren even though Denny McCarthy we know how great he can putt Alex noren he likes this venue and I like him plus
100 over McCarthy Eric Cole minus 130 we know what he did last year he almost won this golf tournament this is his hometown he is so comfortable on this grass and keep in mind this is the first time they’re going to Bermuda grass last week in Mexico was that grainy pass
Palum that they played in Port of viarta but this is that true Bermuda that uh some people get and some people just don’t understand and Eric Cole understands it it’s just his it’s his bread and butter uh and Tom Kim he’s never played here so uh I like Eric Cole
Here knows the golf course has a great history uh finally Ben on minus 110 over JT Poston uh Ben has had two top fives here in five starts and JT Poston has never finished better than a tie for 27th here in six starts uh and Ben on
Likes this grass as well finished runner up in the Sony on Bermuda grass at the beginning of the season so uh I like all these three of these picks uh they’re I’m feeling really good about what they’re going to present at PJ National this week yeah Eric Cole five top 25s in
Seven starts this year so far on the PGA tour what do you think real quick Steve the only thing we saw from Tom Kim at the Genesis was him running from what was reported was the bathroom to the first tea and almost missing his tea time but other than that this man has
Really struggled out of the box everybody had the runs out there coach but but I think what happened was it was uh I think Rd called it hot diarrhea but last week but yeah I was listening so uh but anyway I I really think that the the
Caddy switch for Tom Kim has really thrown him off I mean he’s gone uh he switched caddies a couple times now and uh I I think that that really throws you off and his caddy most recently Joe scavron keeping mind he uh just moved over to ludig oberg’s bag and they’re
Basically the same age and that’s you know it’s very different when somebody moves from somebody in a different age bracket as far as CAD go but he basically moved moved to his Pier on the PGA tour and that’s got to be kind of a a kind of a dagger in the heart there
For Tom Kim that’s not going to feel good at all so um I think that that’s playing into it as well so I’m gonna kind of fade Tom Kim for a little bit until he shows me something a little bit more than just run into the first T yeah
It’s all about streaks here on the PGA Tour by the way TJ Parker says I really got to add knowing the difference in grasses to my bag oh yeah that’s why my guys know it it absolutely matters we joke but it absolutely matters some players don’t know how to play certain
Grasses Rd when you were playing on tour how important was it for you to pick I guess events where you really like the grasses that it was being played on I I loved Riviera I love Pebble Beach I I was okay with Tory Pines I hated putting
On them so bad I just I I went there for the view honestly I mean it beautiful golf course but I hated uh the the old what they called Old Seaside bent uh po out there on in California it confused me to death they are definitely Specialists and the same thing there’s
People that get to Florida and never quite feel right about it and something about the grain just disturbs them whereas I I want to sprinkle Grain on my weedies in the morning I just I love it I eat it up I think that’s exactly what
I want to see when I’m putting it makes putting easier I thought yeah absolutely all right now you guys both agree on the fading JT Poston with Ben on but you have three other head-to-heads Rd that you love to me yeah so I like Luke list
Uh even money minus 110 over Tom hogi now Luke list uh coming off that very good finish at Genesis he’s a very solid iron player he is as long as hell this is a ball striking week make no doubt about it he is probably one of the
Longest if you wanted to go all at it he might be the longest out there on PGA Tour uh and and like I said coming off good solid finishes Good Vibes here this week week because he has lost in a playoff in the past at this Tournament Justin Thomas and nothing against Tom
Hogi whose game actually probably fits this golf course but I just like the local the Florida guy the guy that has more experience on this golf course and then you know Steve was mentioning caddy changes just a little bit ago cam young Young’s been through a few uh you know
Having left his original going with Paul Thor it didn’t work out he switched again and he’s getting a lot of love in the gambling world this week and I know he he’s played well at this course and he’s had a couple nice finishes you know
T e at Phoenix so he’s playing okay but I just don’t see him being that much of a favorite over Matt Fitzpatrick and Fitzpatrick is a West Palm guy he plays there at Grove 23 with Michael Jordan he knows these greens backwards and forwards and his putting has been off
This year that’s usually his strength but I think these Bermuda greens are going to wake him up that Putter’s going to wake up he’s got a really good chance especially as an underdog over cam young and I took another Underdog a big Underdog plus 175 Russell Henley over
Rory mroy now the PJ National and the bear trap they’re May especially the bear trap they’re made for big numbers they’re made for doubles and for triples who’s been making doubles and triples this year Rory maroy Rory got himself playing well at Pebble he got himself playing well at Riviera and then bam
Just fell off the map with some big big numbers so uh um Russell Henley last two times around PJ National tie for eight tie for third uh a guy that really really likes this golf course can putt well here I understand he’s the underdog uh but I like those kind of odds against
A guy that isn’t clicking on all cylinders yet who’s Rory and is still as we mentioned the top of the show he’s got his mind elsewhere his mind’s on the Green Jacket not that he can’t blow up and play great this week but his mind’s not on playing great at p J National
It’s about getting that Green Jacket you know Steve and I were on the call for the Genesis and I don’t think I’ve ever seen Rory in a 20 minute period give away more shots than we saw him give it away on it was 15 and 16 or 14 and 15 it
Was those two holes but that was hard to watch that was really really hard to watch all right those are our bread and butter picks head-to heads those are full unit plays now we encourage you to back it off just a little bit whenever you’re betting anything else like our
Next category we like to call finishing positions because you could be inside the top 20 shoot at 75 on Sunday and all of a sudden t21 and now you don’t catch that’s how easily this can happen so Stevie let me come over to you let’s
Start with just your top 10 uh STP 20s first please yep you got it uh I’m going to go with uh let’s start with CT pan at plus 400 there to start uh he’s had three top 20s in six starts including a tie for third in
2021 here so and he was tied for third last week which got him kind of past his medical extension got him full status back uh he is raring to go and I think he’s going to carry it over this is a again the type of grass that he putts
Well on if you remember where he won his PJ Tour event it was uh not too far away at harbort toown uh very small greens Bermuda greens similar sort of uh texture to those so I think he’s going to be very at home here at PGA National

Chris Kirk he’s defending champ 9 to one plus 900 top five he won at centry he’s got Good Vibes coming to this golf course after beating Eric Cole in a playoff last year so um I I just like that kind of odds the odds felt good to
Me when I looked at that number and big sep Str he he’s um he also plus 900 last season he’s 23rd in approach on tour that’s so important at this golf course because it is lined with water around these greens and you are not going to uh
Keep it out of the water all week but really honestly the guys that that win here are the guys that keep it out of the water the most and he keeps it out of the water the most he’s got a first uh and a fifth his last two times
Playing here so loves this golf course so I think that nine to one feels great for a sep Str a top five Rd I don’t know if you and Steve saw this story but I just read it and I thought it was one of the coolest stories I’ve ever read uh it

And it’s I think it’s about time for Daniel Burger he’s going to feel pretty comfortable this week and he’s ready to kind of get back to that stardom that he knows that he can be at so I I like Daniel Burger top 10 here here’s a guy
Who like I said last week I’m going to kind of repeat myself uh but last week I said Jake knap is a guy that you’ve never heard of and and to pick him in the top 20 and I probably should have picked him a little bit higher but at
Plus 10,000 for a top 10 Ben Silverman is a guy you need to have on your radar and here’s why he’s sixth in driving a accuracy for this season last week he was number one in Strokes gain putting second in driving accuracy third in scrambling and on his par three

Run her up that year so I I think he’s uh he’s due for for a really good finish his putting coach uh guy named Steven Sweeney also lives down in the Palm Beach Gardens area I know they’ll be working really hard on the putting and
Uh so I I like Shane Lowry to throw little sprink on him this week and uh see what he does isn’t this the event that last year something happened with his putter so he had to drive to a PGA TOUR Superstore he walked in and bought one off the rack and they couldn’t
Believe that Shane Lowry was literally buying a Putter and used it I I think this was the tournament I’ll have to look it up but it absolutely H 100% it happened I just I think it was this event very imagine being there you know working the register all of a sudden

Next one but I told you Doug gim was fifth Tia green I went with the Sixth Man te to Green this year Andrew Novak and that is something else plus 11,000 that is long odds but he has been hitting it well he’s been playing well he finished eth in his last two events
Phoenix and Mexico and I’ve got to ask as I was looking through stats Steve Scott I’m going to go to you because I honestly I’m not sure I can explain how this works all right this season Andrew Novak Strokes gain off the T 132nd so not not that great Strokes gained

Quickly he he’s been this journeyman throughout his career and really kind of a late bloomer didn’t didn’t play very well well as a junior golfer even a college golfer just kept getting better got his card PJ tour card through the corn fairy tour last year and you know
He’s played pretty well so far this year and he’s played a lot of golf at the Champion Course at PJ National which is I think very important knows this place throw a little on Ben Silverman AE baa at 75 plus 7500 uh he always seems to surface at venues that are tropical he’s
Played very well in Puerto Rico uh the high wind conditions and you watch him this week at all if you watch our PJ Tour live coverage at all on ESPN plus and it is going to be something he hits these really low knockdown shots very very very nicely and you don’t need to
Go super low at the champ course but you have to keep it in play and I think aay flights his golf ball pretty well he is a PJ tour winner he woned the Barracuda uh so last year so I I think uh I think he’s uh going to be pretty good at PJ
This week you know he’s also he’s also so skinny that the wind goes around him he doesn’t even know it’s blowing good point good point he does also you mentioned your girlfriend he credited he was dating his girlfriend for like like a month or like six weeks or something so way too fast
To have her traveling full-time with you and she was traveling full-time with him when he ended up winning on the seaside course he likes playing in the wind so he credited her for the victory so and I think they’re still together to this day
So yeah he won in the corner tour in the Bahamas and that heavy wind he loves tropical conditions so yeah definitely throw a little something yeah finally before we get out of here now we know this is the beginning of the Florida swing four events this week the next
