Talking about one of my favorite new pairs of golf shoes for 2024 that is the FootJoy SLX and this happens to be the carbon Edition so what I want to do very quickly I’ve worned a number of times very thankful that uh in good old Sunny Northeast Ohio it has
Been warm it was actually 70° today um so I’ve got to wear these a couple times and kind of give them a run for their money let’s say so just want to kind of walk you through it what I think um and then kind of the technology within these
Shoes so let’s talk I think always one of the most important things at least when I’m looking for information on shoes is how do they fit so this is their laser plus last so if the same last as a number of other footjoys the traditions and a bunch of others um
FootJoy tells you drop down half a size what I will tell you is if you’re familiar with the laser plus last it’s the same obviously don’t change it um I go down half a size for my athletic shoe so if I’m a 9 and a half and Nike I get
A N9 and these fit great so I don’t F I don’t I don’t find them running super trim or super wide kind of a normal standard fit so if you have super wide feet I think they make these in wides I’d suggest probably getting wide um and
If you have narrow feet I think uh you will be pretty good in these as well so let’s talk about um what’s so special about these so this is the newest iteration of uh this model what I appreciate is a couple things one is a 2-year waterproof warrant waranty um and
The incredible and I mean incredible stability in these shoes maybe the most stable shoe I’ve put my foot in in a long long time we’ll go over the pros and cons what I like what I don’t like but let’s walk through we’ll pick on the right shoe here of
Kind of the Aesthetics and then kind the technology so this is considered foot Choy white and black colorway there’s hints of lime green and kind of a bright blue as well through here um lime green kind of toe cap toe guard here uh I love the leather it’s kind of got that Pebble
Grain I’ll put some pictures up as well the tongue here is a waterproof material which I like it’s not a fabric which I think is great you’ll see out here and I’ll kind of put pictures up of both ways there’s a very large out R Outrigger here um to kind of make the
Shoes really really stable so it work around around the shoe um again the blue turns into black NE kind of like I want to say an air pocket but a neat little design element here the foot Joy kind of wraps into this carbon looking uh heel
Counter which I I really like I’m going to pause right here because I want to tell you one of the things I really like and I like what foot jooy is done with this particular colorway is the sock liner and the ankle is lined in a dark
Material so if you’re like me and you hit in the woods every once in a blue moon or you play on nasty days you don’t have to worry about this getting stained um so I really appreciate that they do that so the heel counter again we work
Our way on this side and you’ll see the stability is really good on both sides here I’ll show you kind of both angles so you can see it really widens out um on your heel and your forefoot the Strat the Strat ofoam foam say that five times
Fast really breaks in nicely and I’ll explain uh as we get into it so but overall like it I like the aesthetic I like the shoelaces let’s talk about the million dooll um I guess question is how do these hold up regarding and I played on very nasty conditions the first day
It was very wet you know it’s February you’re probably watching this in March but it’s still very mushy um where I’m at I’m not a huge fan if you watch any of my reviews I’m not a huge fan of soft spikes um that being said I was really
Blown Away by the stability of these didn’t slip one time really really really grabs the turf um probably not a green Keeper’s favorite thing but some really really deep uh you can see here on this side some really deep kind of grooves uh that really helps you keep
Stable throughout your swing and again uh my swings about 100 105 miles hour with my driver so I need a little bit of grip I’m not an animal like some of you guys out there um but I need a little bit of help so the sole is really really
Good I was really Blown Away um this is the only thing that worried me I will say you the middle of my foot near the ball of my foot I was a little concerned with how’s this going to hold up uh for wet slipp conditions did great no
Problems whatsoever uh the carbon X I think these are called the X-Wing a lot like the Star Wars really did well I’m going to tell you this only because we’re friends when you get this shoe it is stiff um what I will tell you is I wore these inside my
House I do almost every shoe uh for about a half hour it warmed up nicely and really broke in and they were very comfortable but when you first get them you definitely feel the stability but you also feel the stiffness and the Strat ofoam really really kicks in so
That’s about all I have with these guys do I recommend it yes I really really really like these shoes a lot super comfortable again the stability is off the chart I think maybe the most stable shoe I’ve put my foot in maybe the last decade or so they have some incredible
Colorways I’ll put them up now you’ll see for men and women uh both in the carbon and non-carbon the carbon one goes for 219 the non-carbon goes for 189 it’s a great shw again two-year waterproof warranty um great footed by ortholite um really like I said I like
The iteration a lot I think this is definitely a step forward uh for the pr SL line and SLX line um they’ve done a really really nice job um so anyway guys hope this helps you finding your shoes this year uh we definitely recommend this FootJoy shoe it’s a great shoe uh
