Hi guys welcome back to marit to golf very impromptu video we weren’t going to record but um I’ve just spoke to Russ and ahead of going out on the course tomorrow I have asked him um if we can look at my driver’s shots cuz they just

Go so high going to have a couple of clubs waiting for me uh with different Lofts just to see whether they make a difference so we thought that you guys might like it that you might find it useful some of the feedback we get back

See whether it changes how high my ball goes I’m sure it won’t we say it could be a technical problem however we’ll blame the brand new Tailor Made Driver so anyway I love my driver but I just want to have a but it’s going too high

Yes not far enough not going 300 yards it’s going 150 yards so it must be the fault of the driver anyway so what we’ll do is we’ll we’ll have a go so your driver is 12 de 12 de yeah okay so what we’ve done is ask Simon in the shop here

At Midland Golf and he has kindly lent us a couple of different drivers the reason I say that is cuz your driver is adjustable oh yes yeah okay meaning you can adjust the Loft that we’re not going to do that to to messy so is you got two

Different drivers you got a 92° lofted one well it’s got the price on the bottom well of course it has cuz they’re going to sell it after you it’s not focused okay what is that 9 and 1/2 degree hmer driver hmer yeah yeah okay and then you got 10 and 1/2 degree uh

Tailor made stealth which is and what’s mine it’s the same it’s the same generation yours is the ladies version of this okay but what loft is on mine U 12 oh okay there is that’s what I wanty different Nish yeah okay you can look at

Me so 9ish 10 and 1/2 12 okay okay so you’re going to hit a few balls real balls special uh flight scope okay anything else you need to know and then we can buy a new driers to resolve all your problem come on then hang on no that’s a lovely shot

You’re not using the real ball are you ball using real balls today yes shiny come on then well the reason why is cuz the a range ball is designed not to go as far so use come on just make sure I’m not hanging out anywhere right come on

More okay I done that’s okay first things first well done some really really good shots there um and producing really good distance now when I was gone you hit your longest shop with the driver yeah um but the first thing I’m going to do is let’s dismiss this one

Yeah the hon yeah the the H the h 9 and a half degrees it just as soon as it was in my my hands I didn’t like it that’s fine I mean I actually think it’s a nice looking driver personally but every um I think what happens is because it’s less

Lofted one doesn’t suit us technically and two I think you’re probably trying to force it up in the that was pretty conclusively not going to work right so that left you with the stealth okay I like the stealth um and it left you obviously with your one okay

Now I would say consistency wise you know we’re only talking about a few shots here right so you’d have to obviously if you’re going to do a yeah we haven’t done I haven’t done loads of shots but your longest one did go with this one yeah 10 and a half degrees and

I felt my I felt the actual Club itself felt better I felt stronger with that one so one of the things that we can potentially look at when it comes to the loft is if you’re Club shaft starts to have a little bit too much of a kick in

It which is this here okay so if I can bend the club shaft like so that’s going to add a little bit of Loft now where we need to be slightly careful with this is when you start adding Loft like this one if the ball can go too high which is one

Of the things you might be seeing but also we’ve got to try and hit it more at the middle of the club face now the shot that you hit the furthest wasn’t necessarily so much because of the clubs it was because you hit it out the middle

Okay so it sounds obvious it’s thinking like a trampoline if you jump in the middle of the TR you’re going to rebound higher than if you jump on the perimeter of the trampoline make sense but where we are is Loft wise maybe you could drop

Down a little bit okay which I can do with my club kind exactly which is what potentially opens up into another video however shaft wise is probably worth exploring as well because this would be slightly stiffer which means it has less of a sort of kicking effect the benefit

To that as well is it might mean that the club face stays more stable ah okay that’s interesting so for the ladies watching that do have a ladies shaft it’s relative to your Club head speed exactly so you might have a seniory golfer who struggles with Club head

Speed there might be more tempted to go for something lighter shorter more flipp bendia but if you imagine like a professional golfer if they swing that Center of that club face around their body they don’t want that club shaft bending and kicking no no so there might

Be a possibility that the club shaft you could go for would be slightly stiffer because your Club head speed is pretty good and is that expensive to change possibly not but that’s what opens up more for Club fitting as opposed to this conversation so where I agree with you

Is with your driver good swings there is scope for finding a little bit more distance okay and that’s something that we’re going to explore but for anybody out there at the moment yeah you want to be careful always just altering the Loft because actually the thing that plays a
