Hello good evening welcome uh this is excuse me off the rails I am wooo JT train AKA Jason and drafting season is heating up and it makes me very happy there are less than 60 days till opening day which is mind-blowing um and I’m sure these contests are going to really start to

Take off after the Super Bowl on Sunday so I’m looking forward to that things are filling pretty quickly nothing too terrible unless you’re like first one in a lobby but uh not bad um One new little thing we’ve got uh courtesy of our guy baseball B3 isbl on

X he uh he has a spread now with the bat X and ATC projections um so I’m going to share that real quick sorry give me just a second oh my go CH and here it is so we have a guide now with two other projection systems I’ve been using

Steamer for the most part from my early drafts not like don’t have it up all the time but kind of knew where the value you guys were um but I love it when these other projection systems come out we can really get a uh I don’t know kind

Of an aggregated look across multiples to see there’s Trends or value or whatever um so I’m gonna have this up in the background uh while I draft um I’ve only looked at this for just a little bit today I think he just put it out today so um but this is I think

Definitely a nice little uh guide for us to utilize uh when we’re when we’re drafting so if you’re not using projections at this point I think you’re behind I think this’s is kind of just table Stakes um but obviously you know you need to come up with your

Own leans and players to focus on uh you know I think we all have that but so yeah I’ll have this up in the background just while we do the draft um just kind of guiding me um and making sure I’m not way off on some guys so uh one of the

Things I find really interesting is uh the bat X projections they’ve got judge and stto neck and neck and that doesn’t surprise me I’ve been going with judge over stto almost exclusively uh all drafting season their adps flipped once stto went to New York um I’m hearing kind of a lot of sharp

People saying that they’re also going judge over stto so uh it wouldn’t surprise me to see I don’t know if they’ll flip again but it wouldn’t surprise me to see their adps get even closer together um but I’m going judge the the huge majority of the time it’s just his upside is absolutely

Massive and that’s what I want out of my first round pick if I can if I can get it um so let’s go ahead and hop into a draft if you’re here live and want to hop in with me I will let me share my screen again get it on the right

Ahead but anyway I guess while we wait for this thing to fill up um might as well talk about the uh projections again hey Braden thanks for hopping in appreciate you stopping by getting this draft done uh hopefully this thing will fill up quickly but let’s take a look at the uh projection

Spreadsheet just a few things that caught my eye right off the bat um I won’t be able to see W I be able to see hold a second I’m still getting used to this interface okay yeah I can see it up there cool so um one of the things that really stands

Out to me um is the n field one according to the bat is Bobby Wht um and I think that that’s probably pretty accurate he feels very very safe um I don’t know that I have much of him though uh so I’ll probably I’ll probably try to get him a

Little bit more um obviously I think these first 10 picks are going to pretty much stay in this line uh I have been leaning tatis so if I get any pick that is beyond four so you know five through nine I’m taking taes the huge majority

Of the time there and just kind of thinking about like the skill set of a player that could go completely nuke like uh Ronald aunia did last year right not saying tatis zunia but when I think about a guy who’s going I think a little bit later than he should with a power

Speed combination that ttis has uh I feel like we’re undervaluing him a little bit caveat is of course is his shoulder okay um he had most of a you know full season last year and just kind of wasn’t that dude I don’t I don’t really want to believe that he’s not

That guy um so I think I’m probably just going to keep clicking his name this year and then I think we’ll see if is if he’s different than he was a few years ago a couple years ago um another guy that I’ve been focusing on with these later picks uh in

The first round if if he’s still there I’m prioritizing getting yordon Alvarez in there um obviously injury concern is a big thing there but uh the points this dude puts up for playe appearance uh is pretty pretty incredible um I think last year he had the highest points per plate

Appearance not named Ronald aunia I’d have to i’ have to look back at I think baseball put that together too but he’s got absolutely massive massive upside I don’t have much Kyle Tucker and that’s because I’m prioritizing yordon and tatis that does not feel good um but I’ve kind of

Planted my flag in those two guys if I have you know the fifth through 10th pick uh and Get Lucky with one of them still around so um I think Jose Ramirez is undervalued based on where the projection systems have him a guy that I was off of in the

Bullpen was Randy rosarina but he looks appropriately priced and he just feels like a nice floor guy you know I don’t think his ceiling is massive but his floor is there um Mike Trout’s the guy just can’t can’t stop clicking I think I have 40% right now exposure to him in

The Dinger and I’m through 20 drafts um I I don’t I don’t care about health concerns when it comes to him at this price because I feel like he could uh if he puts together if he can play 140 games like if he gets 15 more games

Under his belt he’s a first rounder that we’re getting in the tail end of the second round yeah I I agree um let me highlight this message sorry ra makes a decent point the the thing about Dusty Baker is for some reason it seemed like he he

Hated batting Kyle Tucker higher in the order and would like prefer to have him sixth or seventh which is like insane to me um so I think that not having him there will help Kyle Tucker yon’s always yon’s always was going to be their three or four hitter right so it’s just for

Yordon the the only question mark is can he stay on the field can he avoid a uh an ilil stent uh so if he can do that then he’s kind of a smash I think um I’m really leaning into these guys and it’s terrifying it truly is terrifying but I

Am really leaning into these guys who have had either past injury history or current injury history um and I’m just hoping that that stuff doesn’t rear its head again like if I get Mike Trout right this year my Advance rate is gonna be crazy uh if I get him

Wrong it’s probably going to hurt pretty bad I don’t think he’s at a price where he kills you if he plays you know only 100 games or something I don’t think you’re dead dead it it really depends uh if he gets hurt hurt depends on when

That happens uh cuz if it’s like in you know late August or September we don’t care because this contest is over by then so we really just need him to stay healthy through what is it the end of August or middle August I think is when the contest ends I had that memorized

And then just stopped looking at it um another guy and I kind of like joked about this and the initial tweet that I sent out I am not clicking on Blue Jay’s players like at all um I know that the bat X loves Vladimir Guerrero ATC really

Likes him too uh he looks like a value according to the projections but I’m just not I I’m just not clicking his name I I don’t I don’t know why we’ve kind of got two straight years where is kind of eh and I don’t really want to eh guy in my top 30

So whenever he’s there I’m defaulting like if I’m going for an infielder I’m defaulting to Pete Alonzo um Corey Seager who I know may miss like a week or two to start the season uh Rafael Des even some Marcus Simeon I just I’m I’m really starting to

Question if black Cero’s vad Guerrero if I could talk is like that dude um his price is fair and I’m exceedingly concerned about fading him and I’m not full fading him but I’m I bet I don’t wind up with more than 5% of him in the Dinger and that is genuinely terrifying

But I don’t know man we just we haven’t seen him pay off a price like this in the last two years and the one year he went nuts like half of that season was in a triple a park so I don’t know I don’t know what to do with him um scrolling

Down the projection systems actually don’t like they don’t hate laela Cruz in this format which I find interesting um I’m probably going to have zero of him or next to zero it looks like I have the eighth pick in this draft so I’ll pull

That back up here in a minute um and I guess we’ll kind of come back to this but uh if you’re not using this spreadsheet I strongly encourage you to do so because it’s great work so again this is baseball his work on X B3 ISB one of the

Guy who won the dog bowl let’s give him judge at four um so Langford could potentially like be the Corbin Carrol of this draft um but I don’t know man I need more information if he’s not going to start with the club I have no interest so

I don’t know the dude is freaking massive so all right we’ve got I mean I’m gonna get one of the two guys that I absolutely love in this spot I really like the eight nth pick is one of my favorite spots to draft in right now

I’m gonna highlight them just so you can see each other all right so we got friends here Brad Matt thank you again for coming out Braden thank you for coming out I’m gonna go with tatis in the spot talked about him at the very beginning of the stream I’m

Sure noo is gonna take Alvarez but anyway um I just tatis is power speed combination um I think he’s got some upside that we maybe are discounting a little bit like I could easily we could get to the end of the season and tatis could be pushing you know 16 7

16,700 points in this format it wouldn’t even surprise me so that’s a tough call though with eight take either tatis or yordon um I probably will wind up doing a half and half thing in that spot Dr juice pushing up schwarber schwarber’s climbed quite a bit since this contest

Open uh because Outfield just it’s so hard to get outfielders with that 11th and 12th pick like even when you come back around to your third and fourth round picks it’s it’s difficult um okay so we got tatis to start um I think I have a tatis Riley Team I’m going to go Jose Ramirez I don’t have much of him yet and he’s not really a guy that I want to like accidentally fade so we’ll take J Ram start off with Elite an elite outfielder Elite infielder see what comes back Mark wants the uh the Mendoza Line average but yet

Still 1600 points because all he does is hit bombs and walks and scores a ton of runs I uh I did from the 12 hole recently I did a schwarber trout team just because like the 12 hole is just so brutal you either are always chasing Outfield or I mean

That’s at least that’s what feel like to me um or you push some guys up I was like how many schwarber trout teams are there going to be probably not that many so it’s was just one of those you know if you’re drafting a large portfolio like if you’re doing 100 plus drafts

Like who cares um Matt here with a a great question would you prioritize Quan as a stock a stack piece since you have jram I know some people don’t exactly love him at costs uh I am one of those people I am not a Steven Quan guy I’ve drafted

Him maybe once or twice um funny enough the last stream I did um Billy Jones was on and um we had a team where it actually like really made sense to draft step Quan and that particular team but I just when I think about how this

Game works and yeah it’s a season long thing we got weekly scoring right so in my head I’m thinking who are the guys that can give me like Mega scores every week like early on especially and Stephen Quan will always be at least your Outfield three or

Outfield four maybe your Flex like every week he’s going to get you some points but he’s never going to be your Outfield one or outfield too I wouldn’t say never but very rarely and if he is you’re probably in trouble so um I guess to answer your question Matt

I would be more inclined to pick him to stack him with J Ram but I still don’t really love Stephen Quan I just there’s just no power there’s really no upside there that that gets you there in a big week I don’t think so I faded

Him last year he was a very very high advancing Advan rate player I’m sure he’ll contribute and help teams Advance again this year um but I just I just don’t like the lack of upside there we’re gonna go Yelich here with this pick uh Matt says makes sense I found it

When I have J Ram it’s a lot easier for me to get Andre simz Josh Naylor later and get a nice top of the order stack here’s the thing like I just don’t really like the Indians all that much or the Guardians excuse me wow You’ think I’d learned um

I just that that offense just doesn’t really do much for me like Josh Naylor’s price is fine but I just I’m just not a nailor guy I don’t I don’t know why I need to really maybe there’s like a deep-seated hate for Josh Naylor cuz he’s kind of a

Clown and uh he totally he clowned on the white sock a year or two ago um and you know that was my team so I don’t know maybe I just have this like this irrational bias against Josh Naylor so I think I just need to like look at

Numbers look at projections for that offense and just let that do the work rather than going with this like preconceived notion or bias towards any of them um got a pick coming up here so far we’ve got tatis Yelich and Ramirez I really don’t know what I want to do

Here not taking OE but definitely am not doing that oh man I’ve been drafting so much Brandon Nemo I think I’m just going to go ahead and go with an ace in the SP and just go with Zack Wheeler maybe hello did it work I thought it froze up on

Me yeah it did time out that’s really weird okay am I still here is anything working might be having issues guys hold on a second can’t show chat can’t star anything all right good Lord I don’t know what just happened my computer just freaked out okay chat’s working

Now star’s working now I think that was on my end sorry guys uh talk about picks 40 to 60 seems like a dead spot forced into drafting pcture should be jumping down and getting hitters and jumping ADP that that’s that’s that’s a great question okay and my take on it

Is if you lean into if you lean really hard into what happened last year where basically pitchers in the first five rounds just like didn’t really get there Advance rate wise if you’re really really leaning into that and think that that’s the norm then you probably are

Going to want to push up some of these hitters I think that last year is a little bit of an anomaly where a lot of these top pitchers we were drafting last year just really failed for whatever reason whether they were just bad or they got

Hurt or whatever names that come to mind Sandy alantara Aaron Nola Corbin Burns for a while wasn’t really getting us there uh Carlos rodon Jacob deg Gro a lot of these guys just just didn’t get there last year um and I’d like to think that maybe the pitch clock had something

To do with that but I’m not ignoring this tier of pitching between 40 and 60 I think that’s a big mistake um because I think that there’s some really really solid arms um we’re on the clock and I’m going to go with Machado to stack with

Tatis Machado had a very very down year last year um I think I saw something on the uh on X about him like just being healthy being ready to go for the beginning of the season if he bounces back in his like in his Manny Machado again uh this 0p of 60

Is too cheap for him so in this spot just a stacking part partner with tatis I I like that there um what do we think about this Snell thing cuz he just keeps falling and falling and falling and I think he’s at a spot now where it’s really really hard to not

Click his name like he was nuts last year and he’s he’s always been nuts whenever he’s pitching it’s just like health is a concern so um I feel like like this Snell drop is kind of interesting and it’s really been difficult for me to avoid so far this

Year see what noo socks here does takes snow okay okay all right just kick me in the face why don’t you appreciate that um I’m not taking Evan Carter this High uh I don’t I don’t know if he can hit lefties so um let’s just load up the infield I

Love Christian Walker in this spot he feels too cheap for his potential and that Arizona uh offense I think is going to be really nasty this year with adding aino Suarez um they’ve got guriel back you know Corbin’s a year older Gabrielle Moreno um is a solid hitting

Catcher mark saying I loved Snell carry me down the stretch last season don’t have a lot of NOA but figure 10 spots past 80P a good choice yeah I mean I’m pretty much off Nola uh for the most part but I have taken him in that exact

Scenario Mark where he drops like 10 12 14 spots past 80P like I’ll I’ll click his name maybe if that happens but um I just don’t know know that Nola’s like that guy anymore I don’t I don’t know I don’t know what to make of him there’s

You know stuff floating around last year about him being one of the the guys that the pitch clock really affected and that for sure is a thing I I do think that the pitch clock really messed up some of these guys but I don’t like

How do you how do you quantify that it just you kind of go by like oh Aron NOA wasn’t that great must have been the pitch clock like I I don’t know how you prove it that but I do think that was probably a part of it for

Him what if Stephen Quan comes back to me and I just talked about how I don’t like Stephen Quan but they get him at like a little bit of a discount still I’m I can’t do it I can’t do it I’m sorry so if you’re one of the three guys

Ahead of me right now just know I’m not going to take stepen Quan okay you can have him this would be a snap pick for me I know exactly where I’m going with this one just going to stay a little quiet see what happens noan aado goes it’s turning into an ASMR

Very easy to stack although I really really miss free ree Hoskins like getting that dude in the 150s 160s I mean that was just it was just a dream and now it is nothing but a dream because he’s going in like the top 120 now which is sad but um

Milwaukee is very easy to stack and I think they’re a very appealing stack um you know if you have Yelich you can go Hoskins you can go contras later adamus I I really struggle to stack more than four guys from a team that doesn’t usually feel good um I’ve been stacking

The Dodgers quite a bit whenever I start with like the fourth or fifth pick and I get either Muki or shoh um I’ll try to stack them with with uh Max Muny James outman a little bit of Will Smith uh T Oscar and then Colorado is really easy to stack they’re

Not like a great offense but they do hit in Coors um so I have a ton of Chris Bryant this year um but Ryan McMahon is too cheap and he’s just kind of like he’s boring as hell but he’s just going to score 1100 to 1,200 points like it’s

Just that’s just what’s going to happen so he’s a really nice floor piece to have later but another team I’ve been stacking like crazy is Arizona I love that Arizona offense um I don’t have much Corbin Carroll but I have a lot of Christian Walker I have a ton of aoo

Suarez trying to get more guelle um got a little bit of jock Peterson I don’t love him because he’s you know plony uh catel Marte just went he’s another guy who’s part of those Arizona Stacks um so that’s another another team that uh that I’ve enjoyed did Langford just go I missed it

I was second yep shimmy took him number 97 tisk tisk Billy chiming in Arizona’s his favorite stat Carol Walker yep hard to disagree with that the premium three are so easy to get I agree let’s go back to our board here and man all right I think I know what I’m G

Worried that he is because I I have none and I’m basically going to continue to have none of him but uh yeah I’m completely off of Stanton and vul’s kind of in this range where there’s other stuff I like more there but I do really like Rizzo as a a late value piece

Um Billy asks if I’ve done any eight or nine pitcher builds Brad chimes in says he has um I think I’ve got a couple eight pitcher builds but not many I’m really it’s sixes and sevens for me for the most part I got a couple of five pitcher

Builds too um those teams are pretty fun to build the five pitcher ones I feel like if you’re going to do a five pitcher build it has to be five guys with mega upside so like Strider with uh you know like Luis Castillo and Carlos rodon and hunter green like these guys

Who are super super volatile but um Billy’s got some data that’ll blow our minds uh I’m excited to see that I’m worried I’m worried what it’s going to tell me it might tell me I’m an idiot W might be an idiot anyway but um I’m I’m excited to see what you’ve got

Billy stuff you’ve been coming out that’s great I mean gez between stuff I see from you and baseball like I feel like we’ve got all the all the data we could need if you can’t make it work with the stuff you guys are putting out I don’t know what to tell

You Jimmy’s going in with Jackson holiday does he have okay this is I’m sorry this is a stupid question I don’t really pay that close attention to prospects like I know these names I know that Jackson holiday is good does he have power like does he have 30 home run

Upside or is he like a 20 home run guy or a 15 home run guy if if if you know let me know I mean I can look at it myself later but I just like I don’t know 11th round Jackson holiday just doesn’t just doesn’t feel

Great Brad convinced will be building 10 pitcher builds in no time that would be that would be interesting a 1055 like a hyper fragile offense I mean there’s crazier things I don’t know if that’s optimal but I don’t see why it couldn’t work all right we’re next we are in desperate

Need of some Outfield help um let’s go with Christopher Morell I think the Cubs are going to find a way to get his Bat into the lineup every single day and if that’s the case the dude smashes the baseball Um pretty sure they’re going to get one of Bellinger or Chapman if they sign both then morell’s playing time is probably shot but I don’t I don’t think that they’ll sign both they should but they won’t um out of the two I definitely would rather see Matt Chapman and that’s

Just more for the sake of my bags because I’m very in on Matt Chapman this year and I don’t want to see him go to like you know some dumpster ass ballpark like uh San Francisco or Seattle like I’m sure they’re they’re beautiful ballparks been to San Francisco it’s

We’ve seen from last year’s data which show that you know more than seven pitchers it was harder to advance last year um we’ve got holiday a chiman from Brad from what I understand holiday one piece lacking his power uh at least what he’s read and heard that’s what I

Thought too um you know he’s a polished hitter but uh I’m kind of there with you um let’s do we’ve only got three pitchers you know the the bat really likes Christian Javier more than I thought it would this year and Christian Javier is a guy that I had

An an absolute ton of last year and he was ass um and I think it’s that experience that caused me to just completely not draft him in the bullpen but I don’t know I don’t want to miss I don’t want to have been a year early on him you

Know what I mean like what if this year is the year that we thought he was going to have last year some of us thought he was going to have last year um I really wanted to take Nico Herer in that spot or Vinnie P but my infield is good

This year um so yeah that was that was difficult for me to do but I’m trying to force more Javier into my lineups um John went with you darish I like that a lot Jay lawren what with Taylor Ward I like that a lot I have a ton of Taylor Ward

Going to pick lordis guel here real quick to stack with our um Christian Walker and to fill out our Outfield a little bit more got a 445 build um but I’m with you Braden if if if he fixed it right and and this is the

Different at the end of drafts um like the Almond Ross St Brown CD lamb pairing was super popular this year which actually kind of wound up being the nuts um I don’t really care about getting unique in the first and second round honestly just pick the best damn players
