Uh NFL Insider so also we’ve a thank the good Lord there’s one good thing there’s one good thing thanks Justin for telling me that I appreciate it what’s up Josh uh Presley Harin is gone guys thank the good Lord a guy that was super inconsistent and the only reason that I

Could think that they were holding on to him was due to the fact that they had a chemistry with uh Boswell and Harvin uh kicker holder that’s the only reason that I could think his inconsistencies as a punter killed us and then the big one chuk a COR for will not return to

The Pittsburgh Steelers as they release the right tackle after a tumultuous season with the Pittsburgh Steelers I want you guys to put in the comments everything you uh want to talk about with the release of these three players what’s this mean in terms of cap space what does this mean

In terms of the roster there’s a lot of variables at Play Here and Now the Pittsburgh Steelers this off season business starts to pick up the coaching staff has changed a great deal on the offensive side of the football you have now the release of some players you have

A couple uh players that the Steelers are going to be looking to bring back into the building the big one being Mason Rudolph with all those rumors that we heard we did some content on that this morning so there’s a lot of things going on here guys uh the offseason

Isn’t really an offseason anymore in the NFL things continue to just pow and snowball as we head toward that summer program mini camps OTAs uh you know all that kind of stuff uh training camp and uh don’t forget this year we’ll be up at training camp uh trying to talk to some

People get you on the channel to uh you know give us a little insight on what you think and what you’re seeing up there at lro Pennsylvania so the Steelers 16 A5 million roughly uh it’s more like $16.9 million over the cap currently as they sit today but when you

Release these players that probably gives you what about 13 million now in cap space so you are down to about 13 or about 3 million so now you’re looking to restructure there’s other things that you’re going to be able to do uh actually wait guys that might have got

Him under the cap I’m sorry it might have got us uh yeah it might have got us under the cap I’m trying to read about all this now so um bear with me just cuz I wanted to know all the numbers here I was trying to update myself with the

Numbers but I had just seen this I had to pick up my son from his offseason football uh program which is crazy even in high school they are playing all year long how crazy is that JD says as for cap space you are still going to pay

Someone maybe Steelers can get more for their Buck exactly now Omar Khan’s going to have a little bit of space and they’re going to restructure guys they’re going to restructure guys like TJ Minka cam it that’s just the way this all works Alex High Smith they’re going to restructure these con uh contracts

And they’re going to get up underneath that cap and create some much needed cap relief and that is probably I will look for them to be roughly around the $60 million mark probably when this is all said and done for them to play this off

Seon and try to uh bring some players in that’s where I guess them to be 6065 million is where I would possibly say now there’s teams out there guys that probably got a 100 million over 100 million in cap so there are ways around the cap the cap is a fictitious number

As we’ve talked about on the channel before um gold and silver nice yeah no doubt bro uh strolls saw they released Harvin chuks and Mitch exactly what we’re getting into right now so there’s now there’s some space guys where do the Steelers turn now do they start to build

A package up to bring Mason Rudolph back we’re going to talk about some of these free agency uh people tonight there are I I compiled a list of guys the top free agents from several uh websites so these aren’t all my my doing but these are websites that ranked free agents in

Certain positions so we’re going to go through them and one’s going to be a big shocker to you quarterback position Mason Rudolph isn’t even in the top 13 uh in top three agents as quarterback so that should uh that kind of is weird I

Think he is in the top 13 of free agent quarterbacks they have guys like Joe flacko Josh dos Drew lock you know Marcus Mariota you know people like that ahead of him so I’m not sure if I’m down for that but anyway let’s keep on rolling Joshua Shields it should be

About $13 million of cap space I believe yeah Josh you are your spot on brother I’m reading that right now actually $113 million in 2024 cap space is now available for the Pittsburgh Steelers so that is going to be big but that that uh tells you a little bit of something here

Guys where the Steelers are probably going to be turning in that first round of the draft and it’s not going to be a sexy pick it’s not going to be an exciting pick it’s probably going to be a tackle and right around where the Steelers are picking you’re looking at

Getting a guy like a gon or something like that um out of Arizona in that level of player and he’s a good ball player but they’re going to have to fill that Tackle Spot and if you look at tackles let’s look at offensive tackles right now in free agency the big names

You’re going to have Tyron Smith from the cowboys he’s probably the top rank tackle right now available that’ll be available in the free agency market uh there’s some there both of the uh P Patriots tackles will be available in free agency there’s going to be some guys available so we’ll go through them

As we get through the show here 24K lightning what’s up man hey how uh how on Earth can they put Marcus marota Josh interception Dodge in the front of Mason insane and completely ridiculous absolutely man there’s uh Tyrod Taylor uh like I said Tyler Huntley is considered a top five free agent

Quarterback this off season I’m not sure if I’ve seen enough of Tyler Huntley throughout his career in Baltimore to consider him a top five free agent uh quarterback maybe they see something we don’t again Guys these are professional talent evaluators but I use professional Loosely at times because they H seem not

Year if memory serves me correct but you’re right um you’re right Ryan he doesn’t he doesn’t have that uh career record to scream out that he’s a top uh free agent quarterback in my eyes I think Mason Rudolph does belong on that list especially over a guy like a marota

A guy that gave up on his team in Atlanta uh and ended up in Philadelphia I’m not sure you know if you would want a guy like Mariota on your team after seeing what he did on I think it was hard knocks or something like that one

Of those shows those reality type shows the NFL puts out now and you saw him give up on the Falcons that year and it was a complete and utter ridiculous thing that he did he said he was hurt but I don’t buy it just the vibe that I

Got he disappeared things were a mess down there and that was under Arthur Smith so don’t look for Mariota to be a Pittsburgh stealer that’s for sure um yeah let’s get moving to some more comments guys again like the video all that fun stuff I appreciate it JD

Whatever happened to the uh coffin corner kickers it used to be an art form exactly JD guys were that was like the thing man you put put it in a corner it’s UNR returnable uh you pin guys deep uh can get out of bounds get you uh down

There low pin somebody against the goal line yeah you don’t see that anymore Presley Harvin had a let’s talk about Presley Harvin guys let’s talk about him he is a released player thank the good Lord uh he heard our message for sure but Presley Harin was totally

Inconsistent guys he was hitting 20 yard net punts and that is a consistent thing for him that’s what he was consistent at hitting 20 yards uh net punts don’t spam the uh chat there ke Kenneth please uh yeah CU I can’t keep up when you do that

I can’t see what people that actually got something to say you know can put in there but anyway Presley Harvin horrible man absolutely horrible inconsistent he was a good holder they had good chemistry him and Chris Boswell but you can’t will out a guy that screws your field position and I don’t think

Everyone quite realizes how important a punter is whenever you cannot get that field position flipped or you know it’s just it’s just one of those things if you’re going to pay a guy you expect him to do a job and whenever you’re a specialist you have to do that job well

Or otherwise you’re going to be um you know just going to be crazy hold on guys I got to put this dude uh in timeout uh for 30 there we go all right Kenneth is now in timeout goodbye Kenneth all right guys as we move on any other comments

About these guys that were released Presley Harvin chuk a COR for I want to talk really about that CHS one because I think that’s going to be big the Steelers now have Dan Moore and um brri Jones the number one draft pick number 14 overall selection I believe yeah 14th

Overall broadrick was selected a guy that came in as a rookie contributed played right tackle you have Dore Jr now at the left tackle spot with uh supposed the potential to grow uh maybe to get better in pass proo but where do the Steelers turn is it going to be in a

Draft or is it going to be one of these from free agency I’m so curious about that I think they’re going to draft a tackle I don’t think they’re going to reach out there and pay free agency tackle type money because guys let’s face it you go out in free agency and

Get a tackle you’re going to pay for it and you’re going to pay dearly for it and it’s it’s going to cost you at least 10 million plus in my eyes uh to get a good one to get a good one I’d rather go out there and get a guy that’s young a

Stud keep Dore Jr and bring in another guy that’s young out of the college ranks and uh couple him with a guy like Spencer Anderson people like that and build up a little bit of a young base on that offensive line I think that that

Would be a clutch what up Nova what up my friend Craig uh world uh were low Harvin average was bad and cost them field position need to try to trade for fields I can’t get on board with the fields trade bro uh I just think it

Would just cost too much for a guy that has 38 fumbles turnover prone hasn’t really done anything in the NFL in my eyes uh considering his draft stock the buzz that came about him uh he’s just um maybe a more athletic Kenny picket is all I can really see that’s just my

Opinion you may be right but I don’t think so I don’t think it’s uh something we should look into uh Harvin was bad for sure though no doubt about it Ryan Hayes I think we got um a marus Mims round one I Know Dan held Garrett well

But I don’t think he can afford starting Dan Moore in the quarterback’s Blindside absolutely not I just don’t think so especially when you’re going to be running a new offense a more playaction heavy offense you’re going to be turning your back to the defense as a quarterback a [ __ ] ton in Arthur Smith’s

Offense and you can’t afford to be uncomfortable and Kenny picket already has happy fee and if he is the day one week one type starter this season coming up he’s going to have to have that comfortable feeling and I would I would really feel a lot better if it was brri

Jones at that left tackle spot for me that’s least what I’m saying um Nova racer Nova don’t like Fields man he’ll jump on you here he goes Fields averages two fumbles per game also a quiet locker room guy we need a leader at QB and the QB leads the team absolutely guys let’s

Look at that Super Bowl last night and you look at Patrick Mahomes and this isn’t just to talk about the Chiefs or the Super Bowl this is just to give you a reference of what a franchise quarterback means to a team you saw Patrick Mahomes lead that team no matter

If they got down if they were ahead he was even killed and you saw Travis Kelce blow up on Andy Reid you saw the Chiefs start to unravel a little bit but what does a franchise quarterback a guy that is a leader a guy that is a locker room

Guy a guy that just has it a real franchise guy what does he do he calms the team and they go to Victory they they are able to find ways to win and that’s why the Chiefs are successful why because they have a franchise quarterback man and

That is the key to this to winning in this league you have to have a guy that’s able to win ball games at quarterback and that is uh a big big thing and that’s probably the most important and you look at Justin fields and I’m not sure he’s that guy I’m not

Sure that he could be that guy even in the right situation if you’re doing that in Chicago where the pressure even probably isn’t even that great you’re not playing for uh a franchise that’s even competing for anything so you’re not under the bright lights a lot you’re

Just playing in front of the regular fan base regular season games no playoff games nothing like that and he really hasn’t done anything there either but it is what it is just uh kind of crazy uh let’s see here let’s keep going guys anything else about these free agents

Because I got a whole list of top free agents that that we are going to talk about so I want to though know your thoughts about the release of Mitchell trabis about the release of chuk sakor for about the release of Presley Harvin it does free up $13 million to the good

And cap gets the Steelers underneath that money um and now the restructures will start and then free agency approaches and we are going to talk about some bigname wide receivers out there some bigname quarterbacks that I don’t think the Steelers should go after but we’re going to talk about them

Going to happen here guys is when that run happens in the draft because it always does so that once that first Domino Falls at tackle teams get scared that they’re not going to be able to get their guy if they wait and that’s when the run at tackle starts and you see it

Every year inside of the draft go back and look at them there’s certain positions that you see once one of those guys is taken there’s going to be a big run on them and the Steelers I’ve seen projected maybe even by some guys that cover the team maybe even could go

Corner but I really think after the move today of chuks a core for you leave a little bit of a hole there at tackle you need to bring in some more uh you need to bring in another guy you have to at tackle and I think that’s where they’re

Going to go again in a draft to have two bookend guys two young studs at the tackle position especially to run an Arthur Smith type offense that’s just my idea uh well like I like the idea of drafting Mims because like you said chemistry matters and comfort matters

Him and broer Jones were teammates of Georgia so that yeah that’s a good idea bro for sure and I agree with drafting guys from the same schools if their pedigree uh warrants it because that is the big thing there Ryan and I preach it all the time here on the channel being

Comfortable being a team being cohesive that matters more than mostly anything else other than the franchise quarterback you have to have an excellent quarterback in place and I understand there’s parties and there’s other guys like that that can make it to the big game I get that but you got to

Have that franchise guy you really do you need him man if you want to be a consistent winner I’m not saying you can’t grab a Lombardi with a guy that’s just regular because you can if you have a good enough team but chances to build a dynasty to achieve what you really

Want to achieve you got to have a real real one at the quarterback spot uh trade up for Alabama JC leam you could trade up man they could jump up a couple they are 20 right now so we’ll talk about that in the mock draft show for

Sure no doubt um Chris ofus uh I don’t want us to give up any draft picks to move up in the draft or acquire any current players I wouldn’t yeah I’m not big on giving up draft capital I like to build from within I like the Steelers philosophy of building through the draft

I do like that as opposed to going out and trying to Ram uh the free agency market and get a bunch of guys I feel like you get yourself in cap hell I feel like you get yourself in trouble con contct wise and it’s hard to keep teams

Together when you play that ball game look at the Rams they were falling apart they were able to make the playoffs this year but that’s what they did they traded away all their draft Capital they tried to pull everybody from everywhere else and it worked they got a Lombardi

But it’s a quick fix it’s not a long-term answer and that’s what some of these franchises don’t understand you want a long-term deal you want to be successful long term you don’t want to be just successful a one hit wonder in my eyes anyway all right Craig uh let’s

Talk here right now our quarterback is our is last in our division in terms of talent we need to make a move I think you need to make a move but I think that move has made some Rudolph in my eyes if you can get him at the right price Tyler

Zery got rid of those bums let’s get some o oh offensive lineman and quarterbacks I agree bro Mark Malone great moves need to release Allen and Peterson I agree um Peterson definitely creates a lot of cap space um and then Allan Robinson does create about 10 million I believe so those are probably

The two next moves I’m not sure about Peterson just yet because Tomlin really uh is in love with Patrick Peterson man he loves him as a player a leader in the locker room and I don’t know if he’s going to be willing to part ways with

Him he’s not as much I think it’d be roughly about four and a half five million I don’t have that up tonight but uh yeah it’d be about that so you wouldn’t save a [ __ ] ton uh so you’d really have to weigh out what you’re going to be able to do with Patrick

Peterson next year and realize that he can’t be a starting Corner in this league anymore Nova racer Mason only has like 14 starts he’s only 28 he’s just beginning his career with what he learned behind B and what he is gaining by sitting um by what he gained by

Sitting by uh back watching you’re basically getting a refined Rook yeah you’re getting a guy that’s kind of a rookie no wear and tear on his body and he’s got some wisdom behind him and I think it’s time for Mason Rudolph to get that chance and you can get him signed

For a decent deal I had one guy say I was underestimating him guys and I want you to put this in the uh chat also what would you sign Mason Rudolph 4 I say five to seven no more than that per year so in that range in that ballpark two

Years to see what he got and the reason I say two years at that range is because you can void that second year if he does really well here in the first year and restructure that again move money down the road pay him a big bonus and then

Extend him to a long-term Mega Money deal to pay him if he ends up being the guy so it protects you and steel pads Mason’s pocket at 28 years old like Nova just pointed out that’s just my opinion so you guys put in there what you would

Pay a guy like Mason Rudolph JD you can get a punter and resign Mason for under 13 mil uh then get a tackle in the draft I agree JD I think you could do both of those for under 13 mil for sure I think like I said I say five to seven for

Mason per season and you just cut Mitchell who was 10 million to the bad uh that’s what you were paying Mitchell so there you go Challenger hey lightning didn’t see strike me dead um Nova Racer the same excuses I’m hearing about Fields is exactly what people said about

Mitch bad coach bad receivers Etc you would think fans would have learned by now shiny new toy syndrome no yeah they come from the same franchise guys and they both have the same issues and that is is that a uh just getting a bad start in the NFL and you get contaminated and

It’s hard to get out from underneath that when you have bad coaching um and you play bad and it’s hard to recover in the NFL things move too quickly it’s a really tough thing to overcome and that’s why I worry about Kenny picking often because why he is not had the best

Coaching under uh Matt Canada he has not had the best start to a career so you got to play that variable also man that that definitely plays into uh what’s going on here uh 2 4K lightning couple of Super Bowl things I cannot believe San Francisco took the ball in overtime

Instead of playing defense also don’t know why they don’t let Brock scramble more your thoughts uh yeah I take the ball I go for second I defer if I’m playing that type of overtime scenario just because I can get my team relaxed see what the other team’s doing kind of

Get my bearings and uh really figure out how I’m going to attack that team it’s a brand new game and I agree I don’t think py gets out on the Move enough enough and I think they went away from Christian mcaffrey in the Run game really super late and I think that that

Hurt them and I’m not saying you run it 50 times like we do Nai Harris being predictable but I’m saying you got to run uh you got to run mcaffrey down there a guy that’s just complete monster that could score from anywhere on the field a real home run hitter that’s just

My opinion on that uh Joshua Shields if we do get Mason back in free agency do you see the Steelers getting another veteran and someone late in the draft or do you have somebody else in mind that’s a free agent uh we’re going to go over these free agent quarterbacks I don’t

Like any of the free agent quarterbacks Joshua I think the Steelers if they get Mason in a free agency they get him to return at a reasonable rate the Steelers have four SEC or two second round or two fourth round picks I’m sorry guys two fourth round picks I would choose to

Probably go after a guy like a Spencer Rattler somebody like that that’s GNA be a mid to later round pick in my eyes anyway I’m not saying Spencer Rattler particular I’m just saying that kind of guy a guy that has some upside a guy that could possibly do some good things

And get him in that third position behind Kenny behind Mason and allow him to sit and learn a little bit you know you got a couple guys that could play a little bit and get you uh where you need to be and then just allow that third guy

To grow and see what happens you’ve seen these guys get picked late in a draft and good things can happen so that’s what I think should happen I don’t think they should go out and spend a [ __ ] ton of draft capital a [ __ ] ton of money in

Free agency I just don’t think that there’s anybody on this list that strikes me as a good deal and I’m not sure we’ll go over it again we’ll we’ll talk about that for sure Ryan Hayes chuks release was definitely a good move he’s a bigger liability than Dan Moore

In my eyes not to mention the extra caps base and I don’t have to speak on Harvin you said it all thanks Ryan no doubt I agree chuks needed to go it was probably uh just time man uh Challenger 16 good riddens Mitch chuks Harvin uh Nova racer

Chuks got released for telling the truth how dare you say uh dare he say Kenny sucks what what’s the use is that what he said Nova I didn’t know that’s what he got in trouble for I didn’t know that that’s what Mike Tomlin uh scolded uh

Chuk aor for for I didn’t realize that that sounded weird ches a COR 4 or4 that sounded stupid but anyway Nova I didn’t realize that that’s what he said said uh NOA racer that is what he said I didn’t realize that yeah Mason gives the team chemistry that’s huge especially since

The players trust him no doubt no but Mark Malone I think someone signs him for 10 million per year 7 million is right on I agree man that’s about my top price for a guy like Mason you get him for five mil if you name him qb1 you

Might if you tell I just don’t know if you can tell him that because no matter who that quarterback is I think the Steelers need to have an open competition I think that there really needs to be some fires lit inside a training camp and I don’t think just

Naming somebody the starter telling somebody they’re going to be the starter uh does anything good I think you need to have that competition I think you need to bring that back into that building a real competitive atmosphere and I think competition would just be a real Plus for this Pittsburgh Steelers

Team moving into the 2024 season for sure uh okay he was talking to Tyler Lynn if Mason goes you don’t think Fields would be the best option that’s not Kirk expensive Russ wash Diva or failed experiment tanah Hill is bad now I don’t like tanah Hill either but if

You bringing tanah Hill into to be the third guy if you can’t you know maybe uh the only thing tanah Hill brings is what guys knowledge of Arthur Smith’s system and a sounding board for Kenny and Mason and perhaps somebody else I I’m not sure

I just don’t like fields in my eyes I’m not saying any of these other guys couldn’t work if you could get them for cheap I’m not saying that cuz I just I just don’t know until You’ get them in in here and see what’s going on that

Would just have to be what it is you have to get these guys in the building so you have to educatedly look at it all and then take your gamble you know what I mean so none of us really know nor do the Steelers and that’s the biggest

Variable in all this is nobody knows you know uh Mark say also Fields through 30 interceptions and fumbled 38 times in the last 40 games he’s a bust absolutely Mark I agree that’s where I look turnovers and I will give Kenny picket one thing he doesn’t turn a ball over

But he doesn’t take chances either he doesn’t try to push the ball down the field a ton he doesn’t really try to um make an exciting type of offense so uh you get good and bad with that for sure uh Ryan Hayes I think teams will

Bid for Mason but it’ll come down to his preference does he take the extra money or stick with his team we’ll have to see though I think I’m going to trust guys more like a Ramone Foster I’ve heard him say like Mason has interest I think that’s where I would trust somebody a

Little bit more uh more than the national media trust somebody like a Ramone that’s more tight with a guy like Mason uh and see what he has to say about it but he’s said that Mason has some interest Mason himself and the Rooney Pittsburgh Steelers so I think

There is some interest for sure Joshua Shields agrees with the five to seven million good price uh Robert schwam we don’t want any more Chicago quarterbacks absolutely not we’ve had our pH U Mitch trabis cured us Mason probably will be going for 12 to four mil or Okay Tyler

You mean million or or thousand that’d be pretty cheap I’ll take him for that no free agent quarterbacks I agree I don’t think well you’d have to free agent because Mason will be a free agent if you signed him you are signing a free agent quarterback so Nova racer Fields

Averaging two fumbles a game is a serious problem and you would have to build a whole new line for a running Qbo line that would yeah exactly I thought this offensive line really started to jail once they knew where the quarterback was going to be and uh that’s what they really liked about

Mason and Nova you’re exactly right you have to rebuild the line a little bit differently because you need some more guys uh that are more athletic that can get out on the Run uh that’s why I do like some of these centers also that I see that can pull really well because

That’s a big thing in the NFL I think you need a center that can pull I think you need guys on the offensive line that have some movement because of mobility of quarterbacks and things of that nature so we’ll just see how it goes uh

Mark Malone if we get Mason back try to bring in DOS as a third quarterback or draft a guy in the sixth or seventh yeah and then you got to look at some of these other quarterbacks too guys uh they’re getting up in their years and

They’ve spent a lot of years as second third round guys do you think that they come back uh to a team that they’ve already been on and know they’re not going to be the guy or do you think they go somewhere else and try to just be on

A different team because they want a chance you know they’re looking for that chance because they their time’s running thin you know what I mean that’s just where I’m at with that again guys remember hit the like button up there there’s like um 10 and some people
