Hawaii Update May 11, 2020 Oahu Hawaii What is Going on in Hawaii. The 14 day mandatory quarantine is required by visitors, residents returning home, and people moving to Hawaii, this pertains to everyone. Visitors who break the mandatory quarantine may be arrested. Hotels, Hawaii Tourism Authority, and police are helping to enforce these rules. The stay at home order for all not essential workers is still in effect until May 31, 2020. Schooling will finish the 2019-2020 school year at home while doing assignments online and graduations will be non-traditional and depending on the school possibly virtual. Wearing masks in to all essential business is required but, not in banks. They recently opened low risk businesses like automated carwashes, pet groomers, golf courses, tutoring by appointments only, and some botanical gardens. Some businesses and malls like Pearlridge Center and some stores on Maui will be opening soon but, the stores available will vary and new guidelines for health and safety will be implemented. Parks and beaches are open for exercising but, only for walking, jogging, running, biking and in the ocean you can swim or surf. Swimming means to be in the water, you do not have to do laps. You cannot sit, lay, play sports, use park exercise equipment or playgrounds and no get togethers or barbecuing. Social distancing is mandatory and you should always carry a mask with you. Aloha =)
