Hey guys welcome back to the channel and today we are going to be discussing the AT&T Pebble Beach proam event on the PGA tour this event starts tomorrow and locks at 10:45 a.m. Central Time with that being said let’s get into the breakdown of the event this is the first
Signature event on the PGA tour this season and what that means is that there’s only 80 players in the field this week and because of that there’s a there’s going to be no cut this week which means no one’s going to be eliminated from the tournament
Everyone’s going to get 72 holes uh to put their best score together uh the tournament is going to be consisted at two courses uh the first being Pebble Beach and that’s going to hold three of the four rounds and the other round is going to be at spy glass Hill the first
Two rounds they will alternate uh half the field will be on one side and half the field will be on the other course and then after both of those two rounds they will continue with both of them with the final the third and fourth rounds being played uh at Pebble Beach
They are both under 7,100 yard in length meaning that they are one of the shortest on tour however they still can be tough at times uh just because it’s a short course doesn’t mean that it can’t be difficult especially spy glass Hill um is the more difficult of the two
Uh M the biggest difference on SP spy glass Hill is that there’s a lot of um shots that are uphill or um elevation changes between um going up or going down so numbers might be for yardages um they could be wrong for some players they might be you know over 5 or 10
Yards or they might not get to the green by 5 or 10 yards so I think there’s an extra emphasis added this week for scrambling um and that goes into some of the key metrics that I’m looking at this week specifically so strok scan approach is one of the biggest ones usually it’s
The main one that we are looking at um but this week with it being an elevated event the um top players of the game are here and to win you’re going to have to be on your top stuff as well so stroke scan approach is my first one second one
I have is scrambling as I had just mentioned so being able to get in up being able to get up and down from out of position whether you’re in the Rough Around the green bunker um you know out of position could be you know you’re out
Of bounds and then trying to recover to just make Bogey and I think with the increased rain that we’ve had uh fall in the area this week as well as it’s supposed to be wet and windy wet and windy this weekend um scrambling is going to be a factor
That I think people aren’t playing for and with this field I think uh the best of the best are going to come up towards the leader towards the top of the leaderboard and that all-around game is going to need to be shown and then the next one I have is uh
Putting but it’s inside of 15 ft uh this tournament specifically has shown uh difficulties in gaining Strokes on the greens and has been known to be a putting uh contest at times and we can kind of look at that just from the past winners who such as Justin Rose he’s a
Good Potter Daniel Burger Nick Taylor all sort of solid approach players good on the greens Phil mikkelson he can get hot and then you know Jordan spe former winner here he can get you know lightning hot on the greens with the putter so stroke game putting inside 15
Ft uh that is one metric I am looking at this week as well and the final is bogey avoidance um this one is more just a personal one that I’m looking for uh I think the weather will be more impactful than um people are
Taking it to be um and so I am just putting that into um my research this week as well with that being said let’s look at the uh field this week and I’m going to go over my top 15 uh tournament plays that I have identified for myself on
DraftKings of people who I like um and I’ll kind of go into why I like each and every one of these plays uh first up this week is Victor H uh he is 102 he has been playing great um since the end of last year uh T2 at the DP
World Tour Championship solo 5ifth at the BMW p PGA solo 10th at the hero and he is someone who has he’s known as one of the longer hitters on tour um approach play is really good just kind of around the green and putting has always been his question mark um and I
Think the reason I like him this week is I don’t think many people are going to click his name because of the necessary course fit to him um more people associate him with a you know a longer course or using that power to his Advantage but his approach game is one
Of the best on tour and I think his putting has improved um to a point where he needs to be taken a little bit more seriously and this range on DraftKings is very interesting with uh mroy and shuffler up top at 115 11 114 and then
You have a massive drop off over of over $1,000 to havland at uh 102 and then you have shafley at 10K flat and I and I don’t think people are going to touch him so hin is one of my favorite tournament plays this week uh specific or specifically just for that reason as
I don’t think people are going to necessarily click his name due to the course and who he’s around and just the dead zone of um salary that he has so I think that is um he is one of my top targets that I’m looking at this week
The next one I am looking at is Justin Thomas at 9600 he has been playing well since he um has came back this fall solo 5ifth at the fortnet solo fourth nedbank golf Challenge on the DP World Tour solo third at the Hero World Challenge and t3d at the American
Express he is hot right now um again I like him this week because he is sandwiched in between shafley Klay and spe and I think those are going to be three of the highest own players of the week and so it’s just natural to try and
Pivot off of that ownership and JT is one that I’m looking at this week he’s someone that I don’t necessarily play a lot um just because he is pred for him to succeed it’s it’s you know off the tea approach and then you know knocking in a close
One he’s not a great putter or um but his R the green game is pretty good for JT I think his approach game is good enough now right or you know in the moment that his putting has been able to breathe a bit and it’s
Almost freed him up to play and I think he is Live this week um he is one of my favorite targets especially on DraftKings um especially because I don’t think he’s going to have uh much ownership um comparative to Klay shley and spe who are um around him and so he
Is one of my uh players I am looking at this week the next player I am looking at is Max hom he is a California Native uh he’s been playing solid uh he won the uh nedbank golf Challenge on the DP world tour t7 at the fortnate and then
Two t13 and a T14 so nothing terrible you know High finishes doing well solid play um but I think he might be forgotten this week um like I said spe is right ahead of him and then you have other people below him like marawa aberer um Burns feno and
So I’m curious what his ownership is going to look like um great approach player he can get really hot with a Potter um solid off the tea around the green is probably where he could use some work but his around the green he’s you know above average
Um he is someone that I’m interested in this week just purely off of ownership um cuz I’m not sure what that’s going to look like but his price is a little too cheap I think for me or for my liking I guess I think he could be priced a little bit
Higher the next person I’m looking at is Cameron young he is $8,700 he hasn’t competed since the century he doesn’t have a ton of great results um to start the year and this isn’t necessarily a course that fits his style of play so right off the bat you know nothing positive however that’s
Kind of why I like him this week because I think he’s going to be so little owns that for tournaments if he you know does well it’s going to pay off um tremendously in tournaments um he has the upside to go low uh one of the
Reasons I’m kind of looking at him this week is that the weather is going to be a bit difficult so I kind of like that for him who has done well in some you know decently nasty conditions um like especially the when he did did well at uh the Open
Championship um same with like Fleetwood I like him this week too he’s not on my list but um because I think he’s going to guard our ownership because he’s Fleetwood but cam cam young is someone I’m looking out this week just as a player who has depressed ownership that
Um most people I don’t think are going to touch this week then the next player I’m going to is uh bang hung an he has been on fire solo fourth at the century T2 at the Sony and he comes into an event um that doesn’t necessarily fit his play style
But played well at the Sony another short course um not that he sprays it all over but he can be a little erratic with the driver um in the past with his approach game top tier and his putting has improved since he switched to the
Broom putter so he at 8K is someone I’m looking at who has done well to start the season and I think um won’t Garner much ownership ownership comparative to Tom Kim uh JT posten and sahala right around him next player I’m looking at is Bo Hustler he has been playing very well
T30 fortnate 28 Sanderson Farms t7 Shriners T2 Zozo T6 last week at the farmers he’s someone who has grown into his own and has sort of found that consistency on the PJ tour that he had struggled with mightily at the beginning of his career uh he is someone who I
Think is going to be lower owned comparative to Henley Keegan Bradley Cory Connor Adam Scott Brian Harmon um he is a good putter whose approach game has slowly and steadily been improving over the last year and has been playing well I think he is Live this week and someone who is
Going to be um on decreased ownership of the people around him um the next two players Adam Scott and Brian Harman are players I like uh this week but I think are going to be heavily owned um so I won’t have much ownership of them or might not have any
At all but I do like them Scott is someone who is great with his wedges good Potter um always knows or always is around the whole and he is almost like the new Phil Mickelson I think where his driving can be so erratic but he can you know get himself out of any
Position it seems like you know and is in forar you know is able to only hold it to a bogie um but he is someone I’m looking at this week that I think um might have some extended ownership but I’m not for sure for sure he has a T5 a t7 and a
Solo second uh so far to start the year so he’s been playing good Brian Harmon he has a T8 T5 t18 solid player good putter um finds Fairways uh don’t hate him this week Eric Cole I’m sure is going to get some massive ownership this week being
7,300 he’s a birdie maker um he can be a little erratic with a driver um but he has T2 two t3s and a solo fourth this year just missed his first cut at the farmers this past weekend in so many starts so he’s a bounceback candidate with no with a no cut
Event uh getting down into this range Harris English is someone I’m looking at um made the cut last week but wasn’t able to do much with it previously had a T10 T14 um he’s the kind of guy that we look at at this type of course being you know positional hitter finding a
Fairway uh good approach making a putt I think he is going to have a little bit of depressed ownership comparative to his people around him such as Nick Taylor um Alex noren Keith Mitchell uh Matthew Pavan seaka Brendan Todd so he’s a tournament player I’m
Looking at this week if we go down um one of my favorites that I’m looking at um that is uh below the 7K range is Cam Davis he came out strong at the Sony with a 62 on the short course and then Clint follow it up American Express had one bad third
Round and you know missed the cut otherwise he’s played exceptionally well this season and I think he’s too cheap for his price for uh eight or not eight sorry for four full rounds I think that’s just too cheap for him uh the next player I’m looking at is Lucas Glover at
6500 missed the cut last week or not last week he missed his last cut at the Sony um um the approach play has been really good the putting you know had improved stabilized now it’s kind of you know back to average but I think with how good he his approach play is the
Putting will find uh will find itself and I think um with 72 holes this week I think lover is a decent option at 6,500 and then Matt coer uh 6,200 he’s missed his last two cuts but he did have a T2 at the worldwide technology Championship earlier this
Year and a t7 at the fortnet played here um before short course fits his kind of game um but yeah I don’t mind him at 6200 and so yeah these are some of the guys I’m looking at this week um like like we said shorter course but that
Puts an emphasis on on Wedge play and approach play and people who can make some putts uh that’s kind of the recipe this week however there is some weather in the area with rain and it could get windy so those who can um shape their shots have an extra Advantage this week
Um being able to keep the ball low um and controll their ball flight if it you know gets windy enough um or the conditions get harsh enough that they need um to make it work so that being said I will be putting my cpls and cheat sheets
Up for the AT&T Pebble Beach proam on my patreon and yeah I hope to see you over there like comment subscribe uh to the channel and let me know who your favorite play is below 8K this week comment who your favorite play is below 8K this week all right thank you for
